Sasha just got her dream job at a dig in the highlands of Scotland. Where her friends ply her with celebratory champagne, throw a plaid cloak over her business suit, and take her to the 13th century to do original research on the dig site. She meets gorgeous highlander Seumas there, and — wait, is this a good idea?
I just finished reading the Outlander series and the first book in this series popped up as a Kindle suggestion. Although time travel books are not my particular favorite, I thought why not it's free. As I started reading the first few chapters I initially thought how simplistic compared to Outlander. Then my mind placed the books into a category for preteen and early teen readers. When I read with that perspective in mind the story became much better for me. I have read the first and second book of this series. I dint plan on continuing but may read the rest when I need light reading in the middle of the night. I would recommend the books to my early teen grandkids.
Seumas (Dunskey Castle, #2), my third read from author Jane Stain, an author I've wanted to read since I began acquiring her books back in 2017, I own 21 of them. I got this book back in December of 2017 & am just now getting around to reading it as I've committed to reading the Dunsky Castle series in its entirety. I look forward to the next book from her, Tomas (Dunskey Castle #3). I'll read more from this author & in this series, but what really got me going was narrator Andrew McDermott, I love his Irish brogue. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
A much better time travel story. Even the romance progressed better. Seumas and Sacha seem to be so different from each other in the end they ended up well matched. I liked the medieval setting and how the plot progressed. Not the best, most intriguing plot but clearly a much better story. I liked Seumas . He was attracted to a strange woman, a different woman. Slowly he learned unsettling things about her however he persisted in helping her. This story managed to make me want to continue with the series in spite of less developed romantic plot line.
Sasha gets to Scotland to work with Kelsey and without further ado, she gets pulled into the mystery of the druids and time travel. I don't know why Kelsey chose to tell her, but it works out and she meets Seamus. Pretty much love at first sight. I like Seamus and his soon to be niece, Diedre. They make a happy family-like group. The mystery of the Druids is still unanswered but the sword, Galdus is an interesting clue that perhaps the Druids are not the good guys. For some reason they are accruing power. That usually is not a good thing.
This book’s approach to time travel was rather unique. It put a new spin on archaeology and wove sections of the present into the past. I did like that the lead female was a strong woman yet neither the lairds wife. It is fun to read about what women actually did all day besides order around servants. I will probably read the followup novels.
This book’s approach to time travel was unique and involved interaction with Druids rather than simply fairy magic. A refreshing perspective on time travel.
What did I like? This is a good continuation of the storyline and a bit less trite than several other time travel series. Depending on your reading speed you could knock each of these out in an hour or two.
This continues on with Kelsey’s colleague Sasha & Tavish’s good friend Seamus (Shay-mus) in the 1400s era Scotland castle. The stories are so short to share any would give it all away.
After thoroughly enjoying book #1 in this series, I immediately picked up book #2, Seamus to continue. As much as I like the first story, I liked this one even more. I always love a good time-travel story, and if Scottish Highlanders are involves, so much the better.
While in book #1 there was more travelling back and forth between the current time and ancient Scotland, most of this second story takes place 800 years in the past. It has all the same wonderful characters, with a few news ones added.
This one is also a bit more adventurous and of course, there are a couple of sweet romances developing as well. I got to know more about all the characters in this story, and grew to love them even more.
I highly recommend this author and this series. I've already started book #3.
This is the second in a series of three. It's best to read them in order.
ABOUT THIS BOOK:
The story is all action, with plenty of adventure and magic. The title character in this book is the most appealing of the three leading men in the series. Two alpha personalities in love make for an exciting story.
If you are a reader whom enjoys excellent time travel novel. It is a worthy read. Jane Stain, has been in my library selves with "The Captive " and "The Cove series. This series has captivate my interest, as with all the other author's that I have on my selves.. Which deal with time travel and the Scottish man.
This second book in this series expanded on the time traveling crew by adding two new characters that become lovers. The book is easy to follow and plot has good flow to it. It made it difficult to put down. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
The second book in the Dunskey Castle series. Kelsey and Tavish have another quest and this time they take Sasha with them. Seumas takes to Sasha at first sight. Yet something off is going on. Love the characters. Clean romance.
This book was even better than the first of the series. Still some wonderful characters and some new ones added. Especially Deidre! I am loving this series. Read #2 in one setting and about to start #3.
Poor editing, mistakes everywhere. Timeline and periods are inconsistent. Author uses incorrect situations that are not of the period. Sadly, these books were recommended for Outlander fans. Poor comparison, not as rich or interesting as Diana Gabaldon’s books, nor as well researched.
This book is interesting with lovable characters. The adventures even out the romance to keep it from being nauseating. I find anything historical and Scottish fascinating.
I really enjoyed "Seamus"! true romance, true adventure and, best of all, not all the Spicy bits that are inundating the book realm! Thank you, Jane Stain for such an enjoyable read!
A wonderful tale that takes up where the first novel ends. I recommend reading in order so as to keep track of the characters. This is a great time travel story, full of adventure and fun. Unexpected twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can not wait foe number three in may.
Not enough depth to get you excited to pick up where you left off. I feel like just when you get to a good place for the book to go, the author skips forward.
Time travel with very realistic characters to the ancient Highlands of Scotland in this interesting magical story with a few twist and turns. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
The book was enjoyable. One does not expect a Hemingway with this sort of literature. Consequently, the book lived up to my expectations. Again, an enjoyable read.

Adventure, time travel, love story, and so much more.
A 6 year old saves the day while Druid Bria.tries to sacrifice the heroine. Seuss's meets his true love in a most unexpected way. I don't usually order and buy books but this was a real essential. If you enjoy a non explicit love story this is the one for you
Each book in this time travel series gets better! I enjoyed this one even more than the first of the series Tavish (and I truly enjoyed it). Clever change of pace for time travel. If you like time travel then I suggest you read this. I received this book for free for an honest review.
I love this book very much. the mystery, the suspence , and the romance in this book are just steller. Some have shown favoritism to this book as compared to the first but i'm not partial i like them both equally. In this story we pick up where the first one let off with Kelsey taking her friend Sasha into past. Sasha meets her first highland hunk who is none other then Seamus. They hit it off right away. One problem Sasha keeps having visions of bad things happening. Deidra drowning and Seamus gettng injured in a battle just to name a few. I wont say no more i hate spoilers. There is a tiny cliff in this and i do reccomend reading book one first just because its good and you want all the info on what's going on.
