I was a little disappointed when I discovered that this isn't a complete Savage Worlds game setting, in that it requires the Science Fiction Companion to be playable. This, of course, is in addition to the core Savage Worlds rules.

The setting wasn't quite a slam dunk for me at first, but it really shines in the adventure generator section were it supplies a few ideas based on random card draws in order to kick off an adventure without preparation.

The book has a nice layout with plenty of full color art.

Getting ready to run a Savage Worlds: The Last Parsec campaign with my younger son... after nearly 4 decades since I last ran an RPG game. (Can anyone say "blue box D&D"?)

The setting is excellent and highly detailed without being too constrained... I'm concerned about learning the SW system (particularly combat) but the background feels like "old Traveller" (which I consider to be a very good thing).
