Though he gave his all during the festival to save Academy City, Touma still spectacularly lost his bet with Mikoto. Now he's a slave to her every order until she's completely satisfied! But that's the least of his worries--a jealous Kuroko just might kill him, Little Misaka is about to explode, Index is nowhere to be found, and then there's this girl who seems totally lost... Meanwhile, Accelerator is busy settling into his new life when he notices Last Order is missing. Fearing the worst, the former villain launches a frantic search only to find a starving girl in a white nun's habit...
Kamachi Kazuma (鎌池和馬) is a Japanese-born light novel author and the original creator of the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, its spin-off manga series.
Despite mostly being slice of life, this is an amazing volume. It provides really good character development for every character involved, Touma, Accelerator, Misaka and her sisters, and then decides to end it off on a really exciting note. This also marks the start of one of Kamachi's best streaks of volumes.
As a fan of Misaka and the clones, this was a nice welcome to a bit more of a slice of life first half to an interesting battle with both Accelerator and Touma unknowingly contacting each other to help their respective girls. Misaka trying to get the exclusive gekota strap and signing up with Touma "as lovers" was a cute part, even though Touma is still oblivious and uninterested as always. I think the best part of this volume were the fresh new interactions between the pairings of Accelarator & Index and Last Order & Touma where you can kinda see how both guys will always continue to suffer because of their respective troublesome counterparts. At least Last Order is cute and doesn't eat as much though lol. The end of the volume ends when the fights are starting to get more serious though, so I guess this is mainly a slice of life volume to see the background of how the mixed up pairings interact and honestly, it was quite fun and definitely the highlight of this part.
