What if all that you believe yourself to be your body, mind, emotions, and conditioning is actually what you are not? What if this is merely a self-portrait shaped by false identification, habit, and assumptions?

Mooji is a true light in this world, whose presence, wisdom and loving guidance points us to who we are beyond the limitations of our conditioning and identity. Since 1999, Mooji has been sharing Satsang with seekers in search of the direct experience of Truth. In these open interactions, he introduces the direct path to freedom through self-inquiry and The Invitation, the most effective aids for true and lasting Self-discovery.
A book to read with one's heart. The teaching of Self-Inquiry is presented with much beauty and simplicity. It's written in a beautiful way. The words used here touch one's heart and invite the reader to shift attention to the presence instead of personhood. This alone will shatter all illusions and bring one to Truth.
"Vaster Than Sky, Greater than Space" gives an excellent explanation of the Advaita Vedenta Philosophy and specifically the Self-Inquiry Method. The main thrust of this philosophy is that we are not what we think we are in terms of our body and emotions but through constant questioning ourselves we can "awaken" to something greater- our true Self.
I prefer listening to Mooji speak but this book provided condensed wisdom and explained a lot of key concepts that take longer to come by in YouTube videos. The perfect companion to a presence practice.
A great spiritual guide to keep coming back to, as time circles us repeatedly through the same seasons year after year, and yet we pass through as different people, a bit changed each time and able to understand the same words in ever new and richer ways.
"The one you may call a Christ, a Buddha, or a Krishna has gone beyond all conditioning. But those beings were flesh and blood just like us. They enjoyed looking at the same moon and the smell of lavender just like you. So what was different about them? Only that they transcended the limitations of conditioning, including the root conditioning of being a person, and awoke from the hypnosis of all that seemed to stand in the way of Self-discovery."
I bought this book early 2021 on Amazon. This book was published 2018. It contains 11 chapters and 244 pages. I took 9 days to read it. CC 1 Chapter / day.
Mooji book is about a deep meditation state with so many beautiful stories I have never heard again. It is my first Mooji book and definitely I tend to read others.
While being in some kind of difficult and exhausting emotional state, Moji kept my frequencies 'high'. It gives you really high positive energy and energy of reflection. It is not for beginners as a lot of things are very complex written in a simple Mooji language.
If you have any interest in Neo-Advaita practices, you might enjoy this. I discovered Mooji through a sibling who shared a few of his video talks with me. Folks have said some disparaging things about this teacher, but regardless of his lineage, I have enjoyed his blending of Eastern and Western philosophies. He is an artist himself (used to teach art, actually), and he speaks rather poetically and what some might consider vaguely, but I feel like he does so (as many teachers do) to make you think abstractly and outside of the box. This book is a collection of his writings and talks.
I have been following Mooji's teachings for the last 3 years and has made such a huge impact on my perception of life. With the direct pointing to the truth and guidance to self-discovery, I'm forever thankful to Mooji's teaching. It's straightforward and easy to understand, keep an open mind and heart then see for yourself the discovery of your own beautiful divine expression. Namaste!
Mooji writes as he speaks. Excellent text for seekers of freedom. Empowers individuals to recognize their own self determining experiences and expressions and offers simple internal tools/skills/practices/meditations to provide clarity of and movement around/ through behaviors & beliefs which no longer serve. Highly recommend
This gem of a book came at a right time, when I needed answers to address some challenges. Mooji's wisdom shines bright and the cover speaks to me so intensely. I am grateful to Mooji, the Sangha and Sounds True for providing me with such a gift.
He is so... His words, his explanations... Any words are not enough.
"Before I am" was the first book I read and meant a complete change in my life's perspective. As a vedanta zen master, he teaches perfectly about peace, real love, liberation and so many concerns we go through.
One of those books that touched my heart from the very start...I had listened to Mooji on Youtube but never had read his books. It was a really great read...powerful and deeply touching...loved it!
Recomendo.
"Nothing will be enough until you are stabilized in your Being. When you are stabilized there, then whatever arises will naturally correspond with your Being."
"You cooperate with the world according to your own maturity. Slow down and your energies will come to harmonize with that cosmic vibration and then spread out in a very different way than the old push, push."
"The greatest healing is to be the Self."
"Belief in a false identity can end today."
How?
Just Awareness, Letting:
"Let your activities occur naturally and keep your attention on the 'I am'."
Thank you Mooji. The pure & simple Wisdom of Advaita. Literally a book for life.
As is evidenced in Mooji's The Mala of God, Mooji integrates a devotional receptivity I find absent in much nonduality. My having a devotional orientation, after being nurtured in devotional religion, I appreciate this aspect. Persons who sense a need to express a religiousness within nonduality might find Mooji to be a welcome contrast to much other nonduality teaching. Simply put, for Mooji, the Absolute expresses as That we may sense a felt-desire to worship. Jean Kleine, likewise, recognizes a religiousness within nonduality, though, with Mooji, not relegating this to traditional religions or dualistic faiths. Neither, however, exclude the possibility of realizing Oneness within these paths.
One could say, by analogy, we each or a ray of Sun worshiping the Sun; however, as with realization of the Absolute, which for Mooji is beyond realization of I Am, we may decide it wise to follow Mooji in wisely not seeking resolution. Any resolution to the apparent contradictions in Oneness are resolved only in the Absolute, better are not a contradiction but to the mind.
In reading Mooji, I sense the flavor of Oneness. That, above all, is why I recommend this inspiring pointing to Truth.
