From USA Today bestseller Ella James...

After that close-up of his package on the sailboat in Morocco, TMZ started calling him Crown Jewels.
Not that I keep track of Prince Liam. Definitely don’t stalk him online like my friends do.
I’m out of that scene now. My family’s reality show might still be running, but I’ve been off-screen for a while. When people pass me on the sidewalk, they might squint, but most of them don’t scream “Lucy Rhodes” and ask about my love of Lucky Charms or how my broken toe healed.
Prince Liam—my stalking his Instagram—that’s just for fun. It’s my dirty little secret. Trust me, I’m the only woman in the world who doesn’t actually want him.
Except I’m back in the Hamptons for the first time in two years. I’m at a party, and Prince Manwhore is here as well. I tell myself that smile has no effect on me. That his ridiculous charisma is a parlor trick I see right through.
After our one night together, no one knows that I succumbed.
It doesn’t matter. It meant nothing.
Not until I see those two pink lines.

No. No, no, no. This book sounded interesting. It really did. Thought what the hell! I knew it was gonna be those less serious reads, the ones perfect to just escape. God, yeah I guess it was but damn if I wish I had just NOT finished it instead of allowing my brain to nag me to finish because of my own irritating curiosity about Liam's secrets.

Yes. Liam. He was remarkably interesting, thank God. Probably the only reason I stuck it out to the finish line. Dear lord. Lucy was awful. I'm not even sorry. She started out okay-ish, I mean for friends who do coke around you and you're totes okay with that sort of thing? Yeah. The whole reality show family was an interesting theme and her being raped by her ex-fiance was a bit of a surprise but okay I rolled with it because it gave her a legitimate reason to have removed herself from her family's spotlight and their show. Good for her? I thought so. Then after that, well things went to shit.

I wish I were kidding. I'm not sure how this book has so many great reviews but eh some like this crap. I don't.

Lucy was, as I mentioned above, awful. Wasn't so bad in the beginning when you're still getting a feel for her but damn it all it went to hell the second she took her pregnancy test. Honestly, who reacts that way? It was so immature how she talked to her best friend about it on the phone. I tried to let that go, and I did. Mostly. But then her thought process, and thinking about the baby just made it so much worse! Talking about her research and how she would still ride horses until she was "showing because apparently that's okay" and how she wasn't gonna go to the doctors right away and wanted to wait to maybe show first so she could have an ultrasound??? WTH? And how she was "totes covered" because she was already taking prenatal vitamins, since, like, forever for fabulous hair and nails. Duh.

SIGH. And then... God. Okay she just held out on telling Liam about the baby. Like literally goes to see him in his country of Gael, and decides she's too afraid to do it then continues to flip back and forth in her head (way too much of her inner thoughts. she was annoying.) One minute she's gonna tell him, but oh I'm afraid he'll send me away. Ok. fine I get how his reaction is something to worry over, but it's not good enough to use as a reason to keep it from him. HONESTY PEOPLE. USE IT!! And then all the sexual vibes happening. All well and good but everytime they almost got intimate again her thoughts would lead to her thinking she shouldn't do this without telling him first. YES. THANK YOU. TELL HIM. Only to be like but oh I cant. I'm just....weak. UGH. Just no. She didn't tell him until about 80%-ish in the book And even then she accidentally blurted it out. He asks her if that's true? Is she pregnant? And you know what she does? Fucking stands up, runs away from him crying and says "I don't want to talk to you about this!" REALLY?? Of all the stupid things!!!

And when she texts her best friend Amelia...I think her name was?? Don't care. To tell her she finally told Liam about the baby it was something like "OMG!!!!!!! I told Prince Liam about the baby and it went AMAZINGLY!!!!"

What adult twenty something female texts their friends like that? Especially about that kind of subject? I actually thought I was reading a teenage romance at that point. Like I said, Lucy was horrible and I hated her. She was immature and emotionally stunted if I'm meant to believe she was a post-college adult. NOPE.

This book was a disappointment. Wish I had the pleasure of saying I DNF, but alas I was the idiot.

My Rating: 5 OUTSTANDING ROYAL STARS!
Crown Jewels is one awesome read and it is packed with lots of goodness and hotness and I just can't put it down!

Prince Liam is one DREAMY male lead character and I am fascinated with him. Although he was first described as pretty much a playboy prince, when he met Lucy he is so caring and protective towards her. And he also loves to eat lamb chop and his favorite animal is elephant! He might seems sweet and so perfect but yet, he have a certain type of disorder that only makes him more interesting and I really dig that!

Lucy Rhodes is one lovely heroine and her character is portrayed as a celebrity as the one like Kardashians where her family have their own shows. It means that she is pretty famous but now she no longer do acting and also she had a terrible incident happened to her before. What I like about her is that she is brave enough to try her hardest to move on from that horrible incident and I am also loving her friendship with Amelia. I think she is funny too and I can't believe she initially called Ollie as RBB lol!

Overall, I think Crown Jewels is truly captivating and I had a great fun reading it. I am totally sold with Liam and Lucy's relationship and I am super happy the way it ended. I must say that I like the epilogue so much because it gives me a huge satisfaction and it was so adorable.

I am totally and definitely recommend Crown Jewels to all the romance readers because it is an amazing love story and you would absolutely fall in love with Prince Liam and Lucy. It is quite fast-paced but there are many swoon-worthy moments and the hot scenes will surely turn up the temperature. It is certainly a must read!

P.s: I'm having a withdrawal now after reading Crown Jewels so I think I'm gonna use the voice-to-text feature a lot to text after this because I miss Prince Liam already!

As much as I enjoy reading an Ella James book, Crown Jewels was just okay for me. It was a good book since I liked the premise of a reality TV starlet and a real life prince getting together and then their one night stand leads to an unexpected pregnancy. That synopsis sold me so I was holding high expectations for this book but sadly I couldn’t connect to the characters since I was overwhelmed with so many secondary characters. As much as I wanted to like the hero and heroine, they just didn’t stand out with all the madness and chaos that was surrounding them. I know others will enjoy this type of book but unfortunately I found this book to be just standard.

This was a really enjoyable read. I have been pretty sick lately so I just wanted to read to take my mind off it and this was the perfect book.
I love the dynamics between Lucy and Liam. It wasn't exactly an insta love but there was instant attraction and it was pretty hot!
It was also nice to see how they really got to know one another and it wasn't solely sex scenes.
Lucy has had some serious knocks against her so I was really hoping things would work out between her and Prince Laim, especially after she gets pregnant, and no I am not spoiling anything, it's in the synopsis.
It was a quick fun read that definitely makes me want to read more from Ella James.

Books like this make me think that the ‘author’ is trying to insult the reader’s intelligence.

Here I go:

- weak and pathetic heroine that cries in every chapter.
- a ‘prince’ who’s getting a bj when the h bumps into him.
- couple of HOURS later, she lets him fuck her without a condom on, just because he made her feel ‘safe’ 🤔 really?

- guess what? He goes back to his kingdom but our idiot heroine finds out she’s pregnant.. WELL IM SORRY YOU MISSED YOUR SEX ED CLASS BUT THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FUCK WITHOUT PROTECTION; you’re lucky you didn’t die from a disease.
- also what kind of a ‘prince’ goes around and fucks without protection? I mean can’t you guess that there’s a lot girls out there that might ‘trap’ him by a pregnancy!?
- anyway she flies to his kingdom to tell him she’s pregnant only she doesn’t right till the end.
- he’s cool all lovey doveyyy and everything is roses and tulips 😶

Ok this is it from me; this is the only ranting on this book which I can waste my time on. I rarely say this, but do not pick this up. It’s so bad that I’ll never read this author again only because it felt like the reader was assumed to be a total idiot when reading this narrative.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I am very confuse with this book. I think Miss James throwing too much in this book. The royal romance, some dark heart breaking past, reality show, etc. Because of that confusion, I can not feel the chemistry nor the plot of the story.

The middle where Liam courting Lucy, is boring. Too much at some point the courting has nothing to enhance the story. Again, I am confuse.

Title: Crown Jewels
Author: Ella James
Category: Romance
Series or Standalone: Standalone
POV: Dual
Plot: 4
Characters: 4
HEA: Not telling

A different book from Ella James! We have a prince and a reality show star.
One night is enough to change Lucy's life forever. Distraught, she falls into the arms of gorgeous prince Liam, a Scottish blue blood, and ends up with more than she can handle!!!
The story was refreshing and the plot was skillfully woven! There is romance, comedy and passion all thrown into the mix.
I will be honest and say I had a hard time getting into the story mainly because I felt as if I had missed something at the beginning, but as I went deeper into the book, the more interesting it became and everything became clear.
I found Lucy a fun heroine but I found her a bit childish at times.
Liam, the prince with the man bun, had me swooning. I loved him and how he tried to do the right thing when it came to Lucy.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I recommend it if you want something entertaining and well written.

Lucy's cat is not shy at all, "I look down at his feet, where Grey is rubbing himself against Liam’s ankles. “I think my dude cat is in love with you.” I liked when Liam was sweet, and caring, “shhhhh.” His hand smooths over my hair. I feel his lips against my forehead. “Don’t cry. I’m sorry.” I enjoyed this book, Liam's demeanor wasn't what I was expecting he was sweet, caring and lovable.

Unsurprisingly this author delivers romance in a way that makes you not only fall in love with the characters but root for them as well. Ella leaves you with a firm understanding that the heart wants what it wants and love doesn't ask permission before sneaking in, taking over,  throwing rules out the window. When you read an Ella James book you'll flip to the last page before you realize it and find it ended just the way it should.

***FULL REVIEW***

4.5 Crown Jewels

Ella James is an author that always brings the heat, the romance, and the suspense. God, the suspense this woman puts in her novels sucks me in every single time, and Crown Jewels is another romance that is intriguing from page one.

Lucy and Liam’s relationship is the center of this story of suspense and betrayal. From the very beginning of the story, when the reader is introduced to Lucy, she has already separated herself from the reality show that has made her and her family famous. Her return to Hamptons is simply to spend time with friends, but she happens to stumble upon, Liam, the playboy prince in a rather compromising position, only solidifying what she believes about him. During her time at the party, she runs into a past she is trying to flee, and her reaction makes it clear to readers that she is still traumatized from past experiences. Her reaction serves to create sympathy for her as well as build intrigue. It also makes the interactions between Liam and Lucy in the bedroom seem believable and the emotion between the two in this scene reads authentically. Throughout the novel, the reader continues to fall in love with Lucy for her ability to see who he is behind the title, to remain dedicated to him when it is hard, and to be brave enough to take on her responsibilities. Lucy is the type of character who the reader wants her to reach the happy ending, to root for her, and to empathize with her plights throughout the book.

Prince Liam is more than what meets the eye. With the reputation of the playboy prince, readers expect him to be a manwhore, and maybe he is, but Ella James doesn’t really show the reader this aspect of his personality, which works to build reader allegiance to his character. His boyish charm and his kindness and care for all of those around him only endear the readers towards his character even more. Throughout the story, it is clear that he is hiding something from Lucy, and, as a result, the reader. This intrigue makes the reader want to not only know his story but also to see how it is going to impact their relationship.

The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but the story is still more than sex. It is built on compassion, care, and genuine concern for the well-being of the other. They make an effort to choose to abstain from sex, and take the time to get to know one another. This dedication to getting to know each other serves to develop their relationship and create reader buy-in for the fast to fall in love romance. The sexual acts that they partake in heighten the need for the full act with each passing scene, and all the foreplay only serves to make the act when it does occur explosive.

The plot of this story will have the reader working hard to figure out all of the parts of the story. My mind was constantly working to figure out how all the pieces were going to fall together and to
figure the secrets that were clearly being withheld by Liam. There is also the sub-plot with Lucy and her old Fiancé that I wish would have played a larger part in the climax and falling action or the story. I do, however, recognize that this part of the story is need as the impetus to get Lucy to visit Liam in Gael. So even though I wish it would have played a larger part in the plot, it is clear that the purpose for her past relationship acts a plot development tool throughout the novel. Even with this one tiny aspect of the plot, it is still a story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat, swooning over the romance, and falling in love with the relationship between Lucy and Liam

Ella James ability to create suspense and intrigue with romance is unparalled, and very few can weave the suspense and the romance together so that both equally share the stge. This author however seems to have the magic formula, and Crown Jewels is just another example of the genius nature of her brain, and this new royal themed book is another book that absolutely must be on your TBR.

Definitely the weakest book in this series. The story moves super slow. Also the heroine takes until the 80% mark to finally tell the hero she's pregnant. I loved all the other books in the series a lot but I didn't love this one.

No, non ci siamo proprio.

Crown Jewels by Ella James
3 stars!!!

“After our one night together, no one knows that I succumbed.
It doesn’t matter. It meant nothing.
Not until I see those two pink lines.”

This was a lighter read from Ella James, the books I have read in the past of hers have always been darker and more suspense based, whereas this is more a contemporary romance with a little suspense woven in.

Crown Jewels is the story of Prince Liam, an Island of Gael Blueblood and Lucy Rhodes an ex-reality TV star. Prince Liam was having a final hurrah travelling before having to go back to Gael to take control of his royal duties. With mutual friends, it was at a society party where Prince Liam and Lucy Rhodes finally meet in the flesh.

Lucy Rhodes was part of a reality TV show, think of The Kardashian’s or The Osbourne’s. Her whole family are the social media darlings of reality TV but Lucy slinked out of the show a couple of years before after a life changing event for her. Now trying to keep anonymous and out of the limelight it is rare for her to frequent these type of gatherings, but her girlfriends are extremely convincing and don’t take no for an answer.

Prince Liam was adorable, despite being labelled The Playboy Prince, his internet reputation did not seem to be a correct representation of the man himself. There was a lot more to the man. He was protective, loyal, caring and most importantly trustworthy. Despite his upbringing, his heart was in the right place and he was a man of morals.

“He was dominant but not dominating, gentle but not patronizing, kind but not phony.”

Lucy Rhodes was a woman that despite her family’s affluence was extremely grounded. Lucy had her own place and a job she loved. Lucy shunned the limelight in the hope of normalcy as she took steps to take back her life. She was strong and resilient but the nightmares were never far from her mind. The party threatens to knock her progress backwards, but the caring voice, touch and cuddle from Prince Liam goes a long way…maybe a little too far.

“But you’re just Liam to me. I don’t do reverence.”

I really enjoyed the story and I loved the characters but there is a lot going on in this book and sometimes I just felt that the quantity outweighed the quality. The characters were a little lost in a sea of plot at times and I got whiplash from how things moved so fast, particularly towards the end. This part of the book felt a little rushed and as if it was added as an afterthought compared to the depth of the beginning and middle part of the book. However, I do love an epilogue and this epilogue was perfect, a perfect end to the whirlwind, rollercoaster ride of Liam and Lucy’s story.

Recensione a cura di Ariel

Buongiorno a tutti!

I loved the premise of this book really like how it was given that modern touch with the paperazzi and social media.
Prince Liam is a bit of a media w**re his antics are regularly captured around the world, he's legendary with woman who all want a piece of his crown jewels (he he). He's an unapologetic playboy and the first impressions you get certainly play into that but as the story progresses oh my did my feelings change.
Lucy is part of a famous reality tv family but she's stepped away from that life and is living quietly away from the limelight. But why?.. We find out what happened to her, where I thought she was a spoiled pampered neurotic drama queen I did a total 180. I got her, I totally understood why she was acting the way she was.
Liam may seem shallow but he is an absolute sweetheart, his protectiveness towards Lucy made me swoon and that was the moment I fell in love with him. When Lucy fights back you will cheer, when she stands beside Liam I gave a mental fist bump.
At times its lighthearted, it's fun, it's sexy but it has it's serious and dangerous moments. I love it.

Crown Jewels by Ella James

I really loved the blurb on this book and was eager enough to request an arc based on that, plus the fact that I've enjoyed this authors work previously. The idea of a reality show starlet (think, Kardashians) and a Prince sounds like a great recipe for a perfect book. While I can't say that I disliked the book, it was probably only an 'ok' read for me. I found it a little difficult to connect with the characters and feel invested in their HEA. There's plenty of drama and excitement to keep us going -almost too much- and it was quite steamy at times but I still felt that something was missing that would've made this a better story.

Whenever I read a book by Ella James I know what I am getting: a book I will always remember, and characters I want to have in my life in the flesh. I have been reading Ella James since she first published her YA books, and when she switched to her more mature books and characters I was thrilled to discover she lost none of her charm during the change in genre. Crown Jewels is an amazing book with characters that leap off the page. I started the book and finished it the same day, it was that intriguing.

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. It took until nearly the 80% mark for her to even tell him that she's pregnant. Then the whole kidnapping? I'm confused. Like really confused. Most of the story could've been omitted since the epilogue covered more in it then the entire book did ....

I really hate writing bad reviews. This story if definitely for many people just not for me.

Crown Jewels by Ella James was a very enjoyable read and it is packed with lots of goodness and steaminess which kept me hooked and I couldn’t put this book down.

Prince Liam is one hunky dream male lead character and he was one that kept me fascinated with him throughout the entirety of this book. Though he was at first described as a playboy prince, when he met Lucy he is so caring and protective towards her. I love the dynamics between Lucy and Liam. Theirs wasn’t an insta-love romance but there was instant attraction and it was pretty hot! Lucy Rhodes is a sweet heroine and her introduction into the prince’s life came at a time when Lucy’s personal life was imploding. Lucy had this horrible incident happen to her and in order to overcome it, she had to branch out and move on, even though she wanted to try and hide from it all. From the very beginning of the story, when the reader is introduced to Lucy, she has already separated herself from the reality show that has made her and her family famous. She has made her returns to the Hamptons which is where she runs into Liam, who is known as the playboy prince and he is found in a compromising position and Lucy figures all the talk about him is true. Later she is at a party and a face from the past upsets her greatly which makes Lucy wonder if she is doing the right thing in trying to get out and live again after what happened in the past. I felt so bad for her and was rooting for her to overcome what happened to her. She was so traumatized and it made me wonder what all happened to her in the past. So there is that intrigue factor going on. So when Lucy and Liam end up having this one night stand in the bedroom , it makes this a believable situation and the emotions going on between these two reads real and true. Prince Liam is more than what meets the eye. At first he comes off as a huge playboy but there is more than meets the eye with Liam. His charm and kindness along with care for all of those around him ends up endearing the readers towards his character more. As the story builds and steams along, the chemistry between these two is off the charts, but the story is still more than sex. We get to see compassion, care, and genuine concern for the well-being of the other.
The plot of the story really starts after a one night stand ends up with an unplanned pregnancy. But there is oh so much more going on. There is something more going on with Prince Liam and that is the real story with the pregnancy the 2nd story line. I loved how both stories ended up consolidating into one. The story is very refreshing and the plot was woven very well. There is intrigue and suspense and there is tons of passion and romance. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend this story.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

Ella James just rocks this book royally in Crown Jewels. I think my anxiety was at an all time high throughout the book from beginning to end. But it was the good anxiety. The anticipation makes you hope will eventually be ok. The secrets that are out there were keeping me on my toes. With each page turned I kept thinking to myself, will they come clean yet? I love the sexiness of Lucy's and Liam's romance in and out of the sheets. This book is by far another 5 star rating for me. I love when I am so captured with a book that I stay hours upon hours reading to see what is next.

Prince Liam of Gaels is a naughty playboy best known for his crown jewels from a very public picture of him in his boxer briefs. But he could never leave a damsel in distressed when he finds a teary eye Lucy Rhodes at a friends house party. From there on, he tries his hardest to be just a friend. To comfort Lucy and try to figure out what has her so upset. Before either one can stop it, they are having a night of passion. Best night of each other's lives, but when morning comes, they have to move on.

Crazy events happen weeks later. Liam is not sure why he has Lucy on his mind when he only stays with a girl for no more than one night, But not Lucy, before you know you are on the best romantic, crazy adventure with these two. It was hard to figure out some of Liam's past, then a shocker hits you when you least expect it! My mind was racing and I loved every minute of this story! If I could give this book a 10 star rating, I would in a heartbeat!

I received an ARC copy from Social Butterfly PR in return for my honest review.

Just a miss.
Sadly, this book was just a miss for me.
Did I like the idea of it? Yes, that's why I bought it after The Boy Next Door.

May contain spoilers so don't read on if you want to be surprised...

I spent most of this book feeling like I was missing something, like I forgot to read a prequel or a novella. While this author loves a cool twist or mystery, it just felt messy and wait ... what?

Also, there was just a lot that felt inconsistent and out of place. Parts that didn't need to be drawn out or there, just didn't work.

Like his long hair and beard, but the cover guy looks NOTHING how Liam is described.
How long Lucy is in the Hamptons and then finding out she is Preggo - then she is only 8 weeks? So, by the time she tells him (which takes forever!) she was like 10?
Liam says he is dyslexic but later, he can read a text and know he didn't send it bc of the punctuation that voice text doesn't have.
Then we have the alcohol issue ... it was definitely hinted at so it was no shock but that they have sex like 1 day after! Yeah. Right!

So, those I get are tiny little things but just weren't working for me.

I did love the end. I loved how how Liam proposed to Lucy! So sweet.

I have a love hate relationship with this book.

Ok so I ended up liking this story. The gist of it at least. I liked how there was a bit of mystery and suspense. I liked how you slowly get pieces of what is going on. I also like that Liam and Lucy were pretty hot and heavy. I mean they start off as a one-night stand, and what follows is pretty angsty, but all in all I liked them together and enjoyed their sweet moments!

What I didn't like is some moments just felt beyond pointless, and were obvious filler. I get it, books need filler. This filler just did not work for me. Also, some of the dialogue/text messages felt very out of place. Like maybe they were written before something else was added in later. It wasn't a HUGE deal, but it messed up the vibe a couple of times for me.

Other than that I really liked it. I enjoy this authors writing, and I'll most likely read the next book in the series even though I had a few issues with this one.

Pretty disappointed with this one.
Reading the blurb, I thought it was a meeting of kardashians and the royals with a love story added. What I was anticipating is an obsessed heroine.
What I actually got is a heroine with a dark past, a hero who sleeps around before and after meeting the heroine (actually when the heroine meets him he's with two women- and later sleeps with the h- I hope
he showered in the middle).
Being a fan of insta love stories- I'm occasionally ok with no protection- but the way the hero was portrayed I was baffled by the heroine's and hero's inconsideration. And no, not a fan of the Crown Jewels.
The story jumped around on a few occasions.
Add in a few villains, a sad past, an obsessed ex and we have the story.
This wasn't for me.
Not safe.

DNF @ 6%

This might be my fastest DNF to date. I tried this last night and hated it. I tried it again tonight and hated it yet again. This not the book for me and if I already hate the main character at 6% (from the first sentence tbh) and I'm already skimming, it's time to give up already.

This is probably just me. There are a lot of good reviews, so be sure to give it try for yourself.
