I may be the villain of the story, but at least I get a leading role. Evil is a term thrown around history and literature as if it's something so easily definable. A concept to fight against.
Evil doesn’t exist. Neither does ‘good.’ Vampires do, though. I just happen to be one.
I’ve cruised through the centuries managing to avoid all the wars, supernatural and human, but still going to all the best parties.
I would say I avoided bloodshed, but it’s kind of part of the whole ‘vampire’ thing. I’ve lived on the fringes of a society that considered cruelty and sadism favorable character traits for almost five hundred years. Now I'm in the middle of a war that might just put my nonbeating heart in a lot of danger.
Battles, I can handle.
The impossible attraction between me and the vampire slayer, not to mention the penetrating gaze of the king of our race, on the other hand?
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
4.25 stars Fatal Harmony is the first book in The Vein Chronicles series by Anne Malcom. I have never read anything else by this author, and what a tragedy that is! I was completely blown away by this amazing story!
Isla’s upbringing and basically her entire life story broke my heart. She has endured so much in her lifetime, and I just want her to be happy. There is social unrest amongst the members of the supernatural community, and they are throwing a wrench in her aforementioned happiness by constantly trying to kill her and those she cares about. Will they succeed?
I don’t even know where to start! I love vampire stories, and I have read plenty. This book managed to be unique to anything else I have read before, and that is no easy feat!
The world building in this book was one of my favorite things about it. I loved the vampire mythology the author came up with. These vampires aren’t your classic vamps that sleep in coffins, and they definitely don’t sparkle. Vampires are born, not made, and they can’t survive on bunny blood. Most of the vampires in this world are cold, ruthless killers. Humans are nothing more than cattle to them. The undead aren’t the only supernatural creatures in this story. Werewolves, demons, and witches are also present, however, most of the story centers around vampires and a few witches.
The absolute best thing about this story has to the heroine. Honestly, I didn’t know if I was going to like Isla, because she can be cold and thoughtless at times. I was so happy to be wrong. She isn’t a perfect angel, but who is really? Isla can be arrogant and insensitive, but also kind, strong, hilarious, loyal, and selfless. The woman dresses to the nines, kicks ass, saves innocent people, and always does what she thinks is right regardless of how much of an outcast that makes her. Her friends are just as complex and endearing as she is, and her love interests, the slayer, Thorne, and the vampire king, Emrick, are both sexy alpha males that would make any woman swoon.
Overall, Fatal Harmony is a phenomenal read! The story is captivating, unique, and action packed! I wish that the sex scenes were a little more detailed, but other than that the only thing that I didn’t like was that it ended. It is expertly written, well-paced, and full of humor. The characters are multidimensional, and the world building is top notch! If you like paranormal romance or urban fantasy, this is one you don’t want to miss!
*disclaimer* I wrote this while very sick today, so I apologize if there are any glaring grammatical errors or if this makes no sense in places! Lol

This book was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! If I could give it more than 5 Stars I would. It physically hurts that I have to wait for book two. I am thisclose to going all Kathy Bates alá MISERY on this author because I NEED answers dammit! I'm not above begging...just saying...
Where do I begin? Really anything I write here won't come close to doing this book justice. The writing was PHENOMENAL. The World building EXCEPTIONAL. The character development FANTASTIC. The plot was COMPLEX and FAST PACED.
Isla just may be my FAVORITE heroine in a book TO DATE. I am not exaggerating. She was KICK-ASS and HILARIOUS. Her pop culture references cracked me up. Thorne the slayer...wowza...YUMMY. Isla and his back and forth cracked me up and made me tingly all at the same time. You know who else made me tingly? The f-ing KING of the vampires, that's who! I'd like to request we get some hot action with him in the next book because as much as I enjoyed Isla and Thorn a small (ok BIG) part of me wanted a little Isla and Emrick action.
On top of those three, we have a multitude of additional interesting and apparently good looking secondary characters. From Demons to Witches, Slayers and Werewolves. All interesting and all with HUGE potential to be developed in additional books.
So I am going to stop fangirling now and just say that this book is REALLY worth your time. It's long and it's not overly steamy. And yes it ends in a cliffy that will make you want to track down the author and tie her up until she gives you answers, but do yourself a favor and give this one a go. Two HUGE thumbs (and big toes) from yours truly.
Fatal Harmony: is the first book in a new supernatural series by Anne Malcom, we've established this genre is me totally out of my element, and my first read by this author, so on both counts this was my first rodeo!!
Isla is a hardcore take no prisoners kick ass vampire, she's a Rominskitoff which makes her from one of the greatest families of their race. She's the kind of girl you'd want covering your back the non vampire side though, because she's got no tolerance for us pesky humans and would rather snack on us than befriend us.
Humans annoy me, werewolves smell, witches are pesky, demons are just plain selfish and the rest don't interest me.
Imagine my surprise as I progressed further into the book that I was enjoying it ok scrub that loving it. No matter how many books you read no female leading character will surpass Isla, she was the f#cking bomb!! She had me going through all the emotions possible to human kind, from the loss she'd endured by her family, to her mixed feelings about us humans, to her awkwardness with her clean up guy. But then we get to the hot biker vampire slayer and I was a goner, throw in a biker and you have me. Seconds, minutes, hours I was invested in reaching the end.
A slayer; first used as Villains in our bedtimes stories, slayers were what went bump in the night for us. The only thing that could kill us. Designed to kill us.
At the beginning I had to hype myself up because yeah that kind of happens when you one click arc request just by the cover alone, so there I was staring at the arc, jumped on goodreads and read the synopsis and I gulped, here you have a complete vampire, werewolves, slayer virgin, and don't forget the witch, I was f#ucked!! But I pulled up my big girls pants and I am so fucking glad I one arc request clicked without reading anything further because I LOVED THIS!! So if you're like me and a virgin in all things supernatural I urge you to one click this!! You will not regret it!!
This book was incredible!! It you're a fan of the paranormal and this book ISN'T on your radar, ADD IT!! It's got vampires, slayers, tons of action scenes, vampire politics, scheming and betrayals. And there's lots of fighting and blood and gore and sarcasm and witticisms and other fun stuff.
Ok, so the main character was Isla and the story is told entirely from her perspective. I had a real love/hate connection with this girl. She was narcissistic, arrogant, inconsiderate, insensitive, and downright rude and immature. What I loved about her, what seemed to outweigh all of that, was her humanity. IKR??? A lethal vampire with a heart??? But it's true. Although she tried to deny, to hide it, to fight it, it still remained a huge part of her. And the slayer in her life, Thorne, wasn't about to let her forget it either. Oh, not only was their relationship taboo (common sense right?), but it was punishable by death. But even in the face of certain death, these two were unable to stop or deny their love for each other. Like I said, Isla could be forgiven because of her humanity.
Anne Malcom's writing of this story was phenomenal. It was fluid, eloquent and evocative. There wasn't a moment where I wasn't completely absorbed with her words and I am figuratively dying to find out what happens next. That ending broke my heart and I refuse to let things between us end this way.
Release Date: January 31, 2017 Genre: Paranormal Romance POV: Heroine - 1st person Steam: 1 out of 5 Series or standalone: Book One of The Vein Chronicles
I’m not going to lie this book took me out of my usual comfort zone. I have these set rules in my head, I don’t read cheating, it has to have a happy ending, and if the book is paranormal romance, alien romance (anything with one character that is other/not human) the hero is the character that isn’t human the heroine has to be human. My theory in this is that I’m human (I know Ive just shocked some of you but it’s true) But with Anne Malcolm writing it I’m reading it. Now don’t’ get me wrong I’m not reading a romance that doesn’t have a hea or one with cheating (that’s just me) but after this book I may just have to branch out a little because Anne Malcom literally blew me away with this book I could not get enough.
The characters she created in this story were so real (no two dimensional dull characters here). I was literally hooked on page one. The heroine Isla is one of my very favorite characters I have read. She is unapologetically who she is and I loved her. I loved her quirks her rough edges and everything about her. She was funny and ruthless and still ok with who she was while guarding her soft and that made her even more real and true to who she was. The hero was amazing (but can you really expect anything else from Ms. Malcom) He was everything I want and look for in a hero strong, possessive, determined, not scared to fight for what he wanted, and perfect for Ilsa.
I love that these characters (some not all) are gray they are good but not perfect and while some bad may creep into them they are who they are and that made them all the more real to me and what drew me to them and ultimately love them. I also love that this story isn’t so cut and dry. This books heroes/heroine/bad guys(?) weren’t what you would expect and that’s just another reason I loved them and this book. This book is one that will stick with me for a long time because it was different. Was there love yes, struggle and problems of course but Anne Malcome took a different angle with this book and it made this one, one of my favorites of this year and to be honest a favorite in a long time.
Some characters in this book really make you think, are they bad and the answer (I think) is that they aren’t perfect and maybe a little of both but what I will say is this book is not black and white. I loved that we see all the different facets of these characters it make me more invested in this book and more hooked while I was reading it and even now that I have finished it. The story in this book was amazing. I’ve needed books with great story’s lately, yes I still want my romance which is why I read romance but I need and actual story and to be honest a lot of books I have found lately don’t have that and I find myself putting a lot of books down because they don’t have a lot more than sex (which if that’s what your looking for cool but for me I’m needing more).
The romance in this book was beautiful I loved Ilsa and the hero together. In fact I don’t think I could love them more. The side characters, and there are so many characters that I am now curious about that I am waiting for their story’s where just as interesting as the main characters and not just filler. I will say that I don’t remember wanting a book two in a series as much as I want this one in a very long time. This book was so refreshing because of its differences. And I keep thinking how will it all end, what will happen with the hero and heroine and with the side characters (one in particular). It’s nice to be so excited about a new series. Even though I love books and reading after so long and so many books I don’t always get as excited as I am with this one.
I don’t’ (for the most part) like books with more that one book about one character(s) because I think most of the time the story really doesn’t need a whole other book for their story to be complete but that isn’t the case with this one, I can’t wait for the rest of their story to see how it ends but to see everyone else in the story that we are introduced to. I also am not a huge fan of cliff hangers and for me while some consider it a cliffhanger I was ok with how it ended, and that’s coming from someone who has books right now on her kindle waiting to be read after the next/last book of the series comes out.
This book is chocked full of romance, a great story, funny moments and amazing world that is created to be is so rich and real. I love that Anne Malcom switched it up from her usual type of book because it didn’t just worked it amazed me and made me hooked on this new series and excited to see what she creates next. I can't recommend this book enough! This book is like nothing she has ever written and it will blow you away!

Well, this author has firmly placed herself right at the top of my list of favourite authors!
And it took me forever to read this book, as I just kept going back and re reading bits! (sorry not sorry)
This author wrote one of my favourite MC series, and she has just proven that she can write more than one genre.
The world building was awesome, the heroine was AMAZING!!! She was feisty and kick ass and strong and hilarious and all round brilliant!!
The hero, Thorne was great, all bad tempered, destined to slay vampires, has a rocking little sister, and just waiting for him to snap and give in to the sexual attraction he felt for Isla was lush!
Oh, and please, the King of the Vampires!! Emrick!! While I loved Thorne and Isla, and wanted them together, man was the King HOT!!
All in, a very very impressive start to a series, I did not even mind the cliffhanger (much). Cannot wait to get more of Isla and Thorne, and hopefully a lot more of Rick - naked and possibly standing in the rain.....["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I FLOVED this woman, This heroine was badass, a kick ass, a strong female lead and she can be a bitch but oh how loved her.
Dear Alex I think you should read this book this heroine reminds me a little bit of Lana!!
"Why try to fit in when you were meant to stand out."
A heroine who doesn't become an mumbling mess or gets wet when meeting hot men.
I have a fucking crush!
Did I mention that I loved this woman? She was witty and smartass. Her comebacks had me laughing, she had no filter.
“Yes, by all means, announce my presence in my apartment to the vampire who broke in,” I snapped, glaring at the emotionless face. “Who else would it be? Britney Spears here for an impromptu concert”
“Of course I wouldn’t sell my own mother,” I retorted with mirroring distaste. “I’d give her to you for free,” I added sincerely. “In fact, I’d pay you to go and slay her.”
And this was just a few of her many smartass comebacks.
While I loved the book and the heroine is the one who made the book for me and I liked the actual hero because when the book started I had the misconception that the book was a love triangle which in fact it's not, sure the heroine felt attraction for both men (king Emrick and hero) and I wasn't sure I could handle a love triangle I usually run away from this type of books but I'm glad this was not the case here, the king may have flirted with her and she with him but nothing happened between them. In fact since we meet the king first I actually thought he was the hero. I went off on a tangent here. Lol
Anyway like I was saying I liked the hero, he was possessive and protective but I wanted more romance between them, I honestly don't know how they could have fallen in love with each other since they didn't spend that much time together but even though I wanted more romance, it wasn't big on my radar because the heroine kept the book going for me and I laughed every time she called the hero Buffy because he was the slayer.
Now on to the second book. Hopefully next book we'll get more couple time between Isla and Thorne.
This was a great paranormal romance but I just feel like something was missing. Maybe Isla and Thorne’s romance was too rushed? Maybe I wanted Isla and Rick to have a shot at romance?
Fatal Harmony is going to be the first book in my new supernatural series, The Vein Chronicles. I'm warning you now, it's long. And a cliffhanger. This tale is just too epic to be contained in one book. Or even two...
January 31st is when you get to start this wild ride. Preorders are live everywhere.
I freaking LOVED this book!! Anne Malcom is soo talented!!
I am totally in love with these characters. Isla is the most hated vampire in her entire race or so her family keeps telling her!! After many assassination attempts she is a strong sassy woman, who doesn't need any man to give her a hand! I loved Isla! She made the book for me, with her smart remarks and quick comebacks and the IDGAF attitude. Yeah she is definitely someone I would want to hang out with. Anne has written Isla beautifully and gave her many layers.
Thorne is a brooding super alpha Vampire Slayer! He hates all vampires and kills anyone he comes across. In the beginning when he meets Isla you wonder how their relationship will work. Don't ask me how but it did their hunger for each other was strong enough to go against the many rules and obstacles that were in their way!
Fatal Harmony is a really long book with a very long story line that takes you deep into the repeal of Fantasy. I am not a huge fantasy/PNR reader but Vamps are my weakness and I really enjoyed reading this book. Some things I would have loved it is more romance between Isla and Thorne, I loved the fighting scenes but I needed more romance. For me it wasn't a great balance!
The end left us with a HUGE cliffy and I for one am dying to see what happens!!! Hopefully we are not waiting too long!
I am a sucker for paranormal romances. Werewolves, Vampires, Witches, I just can't get enough of that genre.
When I read the synopsis for Fatal Harmony by Anne Malcom, I just knew this was going to be a kickass read. And I was right. I could not get enough reading this book, I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails in anticipation for what was to come next.
Isla was BADASS! She stood her ground and fought for what was right. Being a vampire she has loved and lost so many people in her lifetime. She thinks she is better off being alone.
But one man will put her world on its axis! A man that she shouldn't be with. He brings out the best in her. The heart wants what it wants!
Fatal Harmony is a hot action filled paranormal love story! You wont be able to put it down. I will admit this is the first book I have read from Anne Malcom, and I am in love! This book was such a joy to read from the very first page.
Now there is one more thing left to say...... That ending left me speechless! I did not see that coming.
Holy COW! My mind was blown. I highly recommend reading this book, if your like a hardcore PNR fan like myself you will really enjoy this one.
So first of all: Thanks Leonor! Because of your great review, I got to read this gem.
This book blinked up in my radar quite some time ago, because of the blurb. It sounded very promising. But there was also the fact that it hinted on one of my biggest pet peeves: the love triangle. I was definitely gonna stay away from that one, because of it. Thank fully Leonor could change my mind, because she clears that one up for me in her review.
Otherwise I would have missed a really interesting, kickass strong female anti-heroine. Sure she is over the top and not always likable, but that is exactly what makes her so great. Man she can be a bitch. She is although sarcastic, flippant, suicidal and rather badass. My cup of tea!
A great heroine can save a lot, but unfortunately not everything, I have to take one star of the rating, because I found her male counterpart, the slayer, rather boring most of the time. I didn‘t feel any connecting between them and it was ridiculous how fast they went from lust to love. It didn‘t fit into the rest of the book. I simply would have wished for a more interesting character for her.
The plot was okay, a well known „the supernaturals go to war because some of them want to make mankind slaves and food“ blah Blabla. Very promising we’re the side characters, I would have loved see more of them.
It was a really entertaining read, that mostly lived from the snarky, sarcastic, kickass female lead and I won‘t wait too long to read the second book, since the cliffhanger in book one made me curious what happens next.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I wanted to love this book. It was recommended to me after loving Rhapsodic. This book is similar, but this main character is very shallow. She is materialistic and judgmental and in no way did I connect with her. She also tries waaaaaay too hard to be a badass. Constantly reminding the reader how she breaks all rules and doesn't care about authority. It got old, fast. The romance is also hallow and is losing my interest, I've started skimming.
Blurb: I may be the villain of the story, but at least I get a leading role. I might not get out undead.
KU Fans of Debra Dunbar's Imp series should appreciate the scathingly irreverent humour of Isla, vampire extraordinaire and rebel to the end. This wonderful new series has me thirsting for more. Wanted woman by the King of the vampires as both a spy and as the woman he can't have, wanted by the leader of the New York slayers for sexy loving, and wanted for slaying by the rest of the slayers for death and retribution, and last but not least wanted by her family so they can either assassinate her or breed her. A rip roaring tale of outstanding wit and a woman on a mission.
Isla is a hoot... Strong, sassy mouth and funny! She reminded me of Lana from Mindf*ck series that i really love.
She doesn't swoon all over when she sees a hot guy.. (thank god!)
The trio has a hot/cold dynamic that's nice but some how Thorne didn't grow on me!!! I'm team "Rick" all the way! (yeap, give me dark, teaser and dangerous *please*)
The books has a lot of pop/fashion/movie reference that are funny but a little over the top if you don't know them!
"You're a storm, a volcano, a fucking battle. Every day with you is a fight against an unstoppable force. Beauty."
What happens when you find a great book that happens to be about vampires, slayers, werewolves, demons, love and war? You stay up until late at night drinking as much caffeine as possible to finish reading before you crash and wake up to do it all over again. That's how fangtastic Fatal Harmony is! I couldn't get enough. I couldn't read fast enough. I dreamed, ate, breathed this book. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. It consumed every thought I had and still is. I need to know how it ends. I. NEED. MORE. NOW. Sigh.
Isla and Sophie are my new best friends. I loved how independent and badass they both are. I hope in future books we get to see more of them. Fatal Harmony is about Isla. This is her story and I appreciated it being told in only her POV even though at times I wish I knew what Thorne or even Emerick (Rick) *snickers were thinking. If I was a vampire I would want to be her. That's for sure. I have a girl crush. Lol
Thorne is a slayer who was raised to kill vampires but he sees Isla and time stands still. Two souls who should hate each other but are conflicted by what they know and then what their mind tells them.
Fatal Harmony is a great PNR with hot sex and lots of blood, killing and unlikely friends. Anne Malcom wrote a beautiful, dark book about love, friendship, enemies and war in a world that is blissfully unaware of what lies in the shadows.
This book ends on a huge cliffhanger. I always check the ending before reading. I'm not going to read until the 2nd book is released. And if the 2nd book is expensive I'll just pass on the series.
*** I voluntarily read an ARC of this book for an honest review. ***
RIVETING. CAPTIVATING. HEART-BREAKING. JAW-DROPPING. PANTY WETTING & GIRL POWER BAD-ASSERY TO THE MAX.
This book absolutely destroyed me. I'm not the kind of person who likes PNR. Mainly, because I've never found one that captures my interest long enough to make it past the first few chapters. But, with Fatal Harmony, I never wanted it to end. I think there are only about 3 or 4 PNRs that I've loved in my entire life but this one is DEFINITELY my fave by far! Move over Twilight because Fatal Harmony is here for world domination!
It's official. I hate Anne Malcom. She has made me fall so irrevocably in love with this book & the characters only to rip my heart out at the end. I cannot deal with the cliffhanger & I am all shaken up over this book. It's 2am and I'm crying. I don't know what I was expecting from this book but it sure as hell wasn't fucking THAT. This is my first book by this author and I'm over here kicking myself wondering where the hell I've been and wtf I've been doing wasting time when she was over here kicking ass with her writing. Little does she know, she's made a stalker for life and I ain't going nowhere. But seriously, how tf am I going to deal with life until the next book comes out? Because I'm pulling my hair out trying to contain the mindfuckery going on right now.
Holy shit. I fell in love from the first page alone. I was hooked. Intrigued. I devoured this wholeheartedly and my only regret is that it's over. There isn't one thing I would change about this book. Nothing. The characters were superb, complex & developed and just so goddamn hot. The detail of description and the portrayal of the storyline was fucking excellent. I could taste the blood & feel the bloodlust. I never saw NOTHING coming. Everything was intense and action packed, you never knew what was going to happen next. You'd be in the middle of an awesome scene and then BAM plot twist. I can only imagine Anne sitting at her desk, laughing like a maniac while writing this book. Cheeky devil. This is an edge of your seat read, which will literally drive you insane but you don't care because you've finally managed to land yourself in a world full of supernaturals. AND LIKE IT THERE. Finally, a book that encompasses EVERYTHING a PNR should be.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Isla and her fucking sassy mouth? I swear to God, there is probably ONE moment where she's serious. The rest is filled with her sarcastic remarks, quick retorts and her bad-ass attitude which gets her in more trouble than she likes. And always comes at the wrong time. Not a lot of people get her humour, but she doesn't give a damn because she won't lower herself to their standards. This girl is the epitome of bravery and strength. The very definition of good girl gone bad. Not as bad as she likes to think but bad nonetheless. In a world that loves to hate her, she stands her guard and does what she thinks is right. She puts up a brave front. Not letting anyone see her being weak. But she doesn't realise just how much she actually does CARE. I fell in love with Isla from the get go. She's everything a heroine should be. Everything I want to be when I grow up. I fall deeper and deeper in love with her with every word I read. Probably even more than the hero.
There are a LOT of hot men in this book. A lot! And most of the time, I sat their imagining what it would be like if they all had an orgy together. But one guy. Most importantly, the guy she SHOULDN'T love, is the guy that stands out the most. It's a fatal love. One that's frowned upon EVERYWHERE. But who are we to control who our heart desires? Thorne. *sigh* even saying his name gives me the tinglies. This man is soooo intense. Everything about him screams dangerous. He's calculating and brooding & is rash with a take no prisoners attitude. He's aggressive & possessive and so damn sexy when he's being all alpha like & lovey-dovery with Isla. Bloody hell. This guy lit my whole damn body on fire. And the chemistry between these two? Explosive. Out of this world explosive. He loves her wholeheartedly, despite Isla's attempts at dismissing their relationship. He won't let her go though. He'll scour the ends of the earth for her, and have no doubts that he'll find her.
This book has me torn apart and I can't even fathom how I'm going to get through this. That ending. That bloody ending. Whyyyyyy?
This is the best PNR book I have ever read in my life. And I love you Anne for bringing this into my life. However, I'm still kinda vulnerable from that cliffy so I'm still kinda hating you.
Absolutely LOVE this book. Definitely a MUST READ.
“Immortality didn’t suck. Though I did. Har har.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5BloodyStars
Every time I finish a book my Anne Malcom, I’m convinced it’s my favorite. The I pick up her next read and BAM... it knocks the previous book out of the park. Fatal Harmony might be my favorite book that Malcom has written. I love reading PNR books. They were and always will be my first love. Fatal Harmony had EVERYTHING I look for in the paranormal romance genre. You read this book and you will fall in love more with the main female character than you would with the men. Isla is that woman that attracts you at first sight. From her impecable taste in wardrobe, undead status, to her sarcastic remarks, witty comebacks, no filter mouth, tough as a freaking ox, she’s that woman you wish could exist in real life and you can befriend her forever, lol. Just like her other books, Anne Malcom had me in tears laughing at the conversations these characters had, or the internal monologue of Isla. At the same time, this amazing author is able to write emotions so beautifully poetic and vivid that you feel and taste every emotion with these characters. The fear, angst, anger, love, hate... Anne Malcom has the perfect writing ability to mix you in there and not let you go till there are no more pages to turn.
Fatal Harmony was simple perfection. Sexy vampires, demons, witches, werewolves, slayers, vividly written action packed scenes, beautiful friendships, steamy relationships with sexy scenes, ridiculous comebacks that have you on the floor laughing, and emotional situations that really tug at your heart... I mean, this book had it ALL.
I can’t deal with that cliffhanger!!! Thank god I get to jump right in to Deathless. I must find out what’s going to happen to my paranormal gang!
I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Give Me Books!
WOW. I did not expect to absolutely love this story as much as I did. (Is there a stronger word for love? because I'd sure as hell would want to use it right now.) This book was just mindblowing - I could not stop reading it. It was funny, sarcastic, endearing, enchanting, blah blah blah, keep them adjectives going. Vocabulary is important. (I just had an Isla moment)
Isla has probably become my favourite all time female lead. She has the same humour as me, and is the most human vampire. She has endured so much at the hand of her own family and species, yet is able to continue to oppose them with grace. She is unbelievably strong and willful.
I was not expecting those plot twists at the end, and those slightly unfinished explanations. Also, kudos for leaving me on edge, and wanting more after that cliffhanger Malcom. This is definitely going on my favourites shelf, and being awarded as my favourite paranormal read EVER.
Alright, I know, I know, I am like totally just complementing this book, but hey, you can't fault a book with so many great lines, and amazing suspense. I am so pumped for book two, and yes I realize, I have read this book before it has even released, but I will be waiting (not so patiently) for the sequel. The last line, LOVE IT.
First paranormal book for this author...and she has killed it <---- vampires, killed it, get it?!!! Although I could slap her for the cliffhanger!
Isla: 'Evil doesn’t exist. Neither does ‘good.’ Vampires do, though. I just happen to be one.'
And what a vamp Isla is! Love her. Sarcastic, funny, sassy and cares more about her shoe collection than the woes of the supernatural world. That is until a slayer and a Vamp King enter her world!
King Rick and Thorne. With each chapter I denounce the other guy to favour the other. And vice versa.....sigh.
This author has proved her talent for writing any genre with this book. Her MC series is excellent.....and now paranormal. Bring more on!
