Sweet story, needs tightening up

The overall story was really sweet and plausable.
I enjoyed all of the characters and the flow of the story.
The timeline didnt add up.
Cindy's almost 45 and has been a divorce lawyer for 25 years. I'm sure law school takes longer than that.
AJ's timeline was hmm also.
There were a few typos and words that didnt fit in the sentence.
Better editing needed to make it a five star story.

Love on the ranch

Cynthia Welch had the life she wanted, at least she thought she did.  She was a high powered, wealthy attorney, a partner in her law firm, and had a penthouse she called home. But she was burnt out and desperately needed a vacation.  The Christmas season was upon them, and seemed like a good time to get away and maybe write that book she'd been dreaming about. But where to go? After remembering one of her partners when out to Colorado last year, she decided that would be perfect for her, and asked for the information on the ranch. It turns out the Peaktop Guest Ranch is closed for Christmas, but luck would have it, the owners were willing to have her as a guest after she convinced them she didn't need much and would take care of herself.

AJ Coulter worked on a cattle ranch, and like every winter, he was let go from his job until Spring. He wasn't too worried though, he thought he'd take this time to go down and visit his daughters that were in college. But after talking with a friend, he found that he might be able to find work at the Peaktop Guest Ranch, so after seeing his girls, he made his way to Colorado to see if he could be of some use.

Cynthia definitely wasn't looking for love, and since his divorce, AJ didn't think love was in the cards for him anymore. Neither of them knew what Christmas had in store for them.

An incredibly easy and wonderful read, Colorado Cowboy Christmas is the perfect Christmas romance. The Christmas season holds a lot of love and this story plays right into that and brings about all the feelings of the season and a happy ending to celebrate.  I highly recommend Colorado Cowboy Christmas to anyone who loves a good romance novel. There is nothing smutty about this book, and I can see myself having enjoyed it when I was an older teenager. There is some language, if that is a concern.

The only thing that I wish, is that we'd get more of AJ & Cindy's story. I love a happy ending, but I always want to know more! The author has several other books in the series, but they all center around different characters in the small town of Peaktop. Maybe AJ & Cindy will show up in another one of the books. Good luck putting this one down.  Happy Reading.

It was pretty boring. There was a lot of repetitive and long winded inner monologue that revolved around the same themes over and over without moving the plot along. He constantly compared fMC to his ex, and thought so often of this other woman, I wondered why did he even want to go out with anyone else, much less fall in love. I felt like he needed marriage counseling with his ex instead of a new relationship.
It was very slow, too. Around 42% in, they hadn’t even talked more than a few minutes. Things start happening after that, but it felt like the book should have been at least 30% shorter. I can’t connect with these two, despite being close to their age. So I decided to DNF at 50%, since it was becoming a chore to finish.

If you love to curl up with a good romantic book, this is a great one! Cynthia, a high-power attorney decides to get away from her hectic life in Chicago. AJ, a ranch hand from Wyoming needs to find a new job now that he has been laid off his current job for the winter. Will Colorado be a magical journey for both of them?
The author, Jill Haymaker makes the reader feel like they are part of the story. I felt like I was out in the Colorado mountains getting ready for Christmas. This was an easy read which was great for a lazy Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend this book if you love romance/feel good novels.

What a perfect book to start the holiday season. Cynthia is a Chicago lawyer, who is always working. She hasn't had a vacation in a very long time. After a case closes, she decides to take her vacation from Thanksgiving until New Year's at a dude ranch in Colorado. It will be a long drive, but she has the time. She can finally take a deep breath, when she reaches the ranch. The first person she meets is a cowboy, named AJ. Instant attraction, but she is here to relax and write a book. She settles in and does just that. Little does she know that AJ will be staying in the ranch house also. No problem, right. It is getting harder to stay away from him. Will her holiday wish be granted.

Perfect holiday romance!

Two people from different worlds (city and country) would seem to not have much in common. One had devoted her life to her career and found herself burned out with little that actually mattered in her life. He is a cowboy through and through with a failed marriage and grown twins. After meeting Cindy he realizes that his marriage came from not really knowing what love is!
They find each other and learn quickly what real love is and that they will each do whatever is necessary to have their HEA!
Feel good story with a sweet romantic relationship in a perfect Christmas setting!

Love AJ and Cindy's story

Colorado is such a beautiful place compared to Chicago. Cindy is burnt out from being a lawyer in Chicago. She hears to Peakview Colorado during the holiday season. It is small town and has such wonderful people in this town. AJ is helping them out for the winter time. They are opposites but they work so well. Love their stories from last to present. The owner's family are so wonderful. Love these stories.

Inspiring!

Cynthia a top notch lawyer from Chicago needs a vacation. She goes to a dude ranch in the beautiful Colorado mountains. AJ a divorced cowboy looking to be near his daughters in college takes a job for the winter at the same ranch and whether they’re looking for it or not ... love finds them! I like that they’re older and this is a second chance. I’d recommend to anyone that likes a clean romance.

I enjoy quick, enjoyable romances and this is one. I liked the characters and how they get together. I did feel we were left hanging at the end as to how they would make their romance work since one is a cowboy working ranch to ranch while the woman is a Chicago attorney. But overall I liked the happy ending.

A great Christmas get away

Cynthia needed some time away from her high powered lawyer job so she goes to Colorado for the holidays. She meets a cowboy named AJ who she loves spending time with. Him being a cowboy and her being a big city lawyer makes it hard for them to think of forever so they just enjoy the time they have.
A great holiday story for all.

Really enjoyed this novella!

I love most all western stories but some are really worth reading, and this is one! Loved the romance after 30, far too many books are centered around young hot sexy men\women so this one filled that gap! Great story line and just enough sex to make you believe in the romance.

Colorado Cowboy Christmas

Peakview Series book number 5 is just as enjoyable as it’s four predecessors. This one is about the unlikely romance of Chicago attorney, Cynthia Welch and old ex-rodeo cowboy AJ. They both find themselves in the small town of Peakview at Christmas and the magic begins.

He was a cowboy, divorced and this was his first Christmas on his own. He'd found a temporary job, over winter.
She was a jaded Chicago lawyer, looking to get away, and have time to herself. An empty dude ranch in the Colorado mountains sounded perfect.
Their thrown together through circumstances. What they make of it is up to themselves.

Enjoyed reading!

I thoroughly enjoy the clean and tangible stories by Jill Haymaker. I count on them to be challenging but lofty enough to dream a little. Wholesome with just a touch of grit.
Easy and pleasant reading.

The setting in small town Colorado was great and I have a soft spot for cowboys. The virtual voice was interesting and kept the cost down but it lacked emotion, pauses for dramatic effect and inflectuon. A few words were mispronounced. But I would do it again.

Fun story

This was a great change from normal romance books in that it involved an older couple and that was nice to see. It was a fun story and worth the read.
