Bob is just an ordinary boy with ordinary friends who goes to an ordinary school, each and every day. But this is no ordinary day. Today when Bob opens his lunchbox, he finds Hot Doga real, live, talking hotdog! Hot Dog says he's from another planet. He's here to save Earth. Andgulphe needs Bob's help! Full of humor, quirky characters, brief fast-paced chapters, and funny black-and-white illustrations on each page, Hot Dog and Bob is sure to be welcomed by beginning readers.
Not my favorite silly chapter book but a first grader was eating them up so I wanted to check it out. Totally silly and gross ridiculousness throughout. I totally get that elementary kiddos, especially 2nd and 3rd grade will love it.
Bob is just a regular young boy with the same regular young friends who goes to a regular school, each and every day. But the story is not just any ordinary day for the boys. This is the day when Bob opens his lunch box, he finds Hot Dog. Which is out of the norm, and even more out of the norm that this hot dog is a real, live, talking hot dog. The Hot Dog says he's from another planet and that he's here to save Earth and that he needs Bob's help. The story is the adventure of Bob and the Hot Dog saving the world.
The book is a classic graphic novel format. It was way too busy pictures with large text. It has a great story line that keeps children entertained because of the imagination most children have. They wonder if something like this may ever happen to them. It's a fun story and reminds me of The Fairy Odd Parents with the way the story is told and the way the pictures are drawn.
It was funny but it was a bit strange because that hot dog is comes from another planet and he is fighting with the Evil alien pizza person. And he's in bob's lunch box and the top secret is he is not just a hot dog, he is a talking hot dog and come to the Earth for fight with strange gross alien. First time I thought,'why the alien is look like pizza? What if people eat that strange&weird alien? Then, will it gone????' but I know the thing... If that alien attacks, you will never ever! eat that really weird thing!!!
A little low on plot, but full of gross details and silliness. This one was recommended to me by my 6-year-old nephew, and I totally see the appeal for him. Not life changing, but definitely more plot than Captain Underpants and similar titles. I think I am going to recommend Zombiekins to my nephew. He'll probably like the humor.
Genre: Fiction, young readers This first in a series is entertaining and full of excitement. The reader is helped along by illustrations every so often to hel build the story. The book is easy to read and follow and leaves off so a reader looks forward to continuing the series of books.
Well, I didn't care for it at all, but the second grader was into it and wants to read the series. Oh joy. Really, there are many funny, boy-centric series out there that are better than this that I am going to try to steer him towards.
Kind of like eating a leftover pizza from the night before. You know why you chose to eat it - but immediately regret your decision. Stick to Captain Underpants for quality toilet humour.
Well, that was silly. But not in a bad way. More like a "Oh, I guess if I was a 3rd or 2nd grade boy who liked aliens, superheroes, and junk food this would open me up to reading" kind of silly.
