Royal Vow #0.5

Sweet Royal Beginnings

Rate this book
Abandoned at birth, Jane Smith didn’t have much experience with the elusive emotion of love. Frankly, she didn’t even believe that any such emotion existed. After all, she had gotten along just fine all on her own for twenty some years. She certainly didn’t need some obnoxious, over inflated, egotistical man coming into her world and turning it upside down.
“Mike,” thought entirely too highly of himself, and Jane was one woman that would not fall at his feet just because he was a prince (and probably the most handsome man she had ever seen in her life). His strong broad shoulders and dark brown hair or his midnight blue eyes did nothing for her, nor did his whiskey-smooth accent send messages of warning to her female parts.
But most of all, Jane Smith was a big ole liar.
Prince Mikal SuMartra had no idea why the small blonde on stage attracted him. Her figure was quite slim, which made other parts of her full lush body all the more tempting. The conflicting glimpses from the saucy siren with blushing innocence intrigued him. The way she reacted to his touch, he knew that a night in her arms would be pleasure-filled for both of them.
Her blatant refusal only made him more determined than ever to have her. Mikal couldn’t wait to peel away the many faces of Jane to uncover the true jewel beneath.
This over 15 thousand word novella is the complete story of Jane and Mikal as they struggle to find their way to the beginning of their happy ever after.

This was an okay book. The characters were a bit awkward with each other and the view point of the narration switched between Mikal and Jane with no obvious indication, which was a bit confusing at times.

Also it seemed like Jane was determined to ignore Mikal's advances hard core but then she just randomly changed her mind out of nowhere.

Then the thing with Mikal having to go back home and do his duty a prince only to come back with a change of plan... there was just a lot going on with no that great structure and it was all over for me.

I'm glad I got to read this though!

Not what I thought

Great story short and sweet. I read the snippets of MS Scotts books and they all seem to be what I want to read next!

A sweet short story

A sweet short story to kick off what sounds like an awesome series of royal bliss. Jane is just the type of person that anyone who takes the time to know her would instantly fall for. Although where and how they meet doesn't really seem possible, the story falls into place quite well. Makal and Janea have a interesting connection.

Sweet Royal Beginnings would be a great teaching tool for why preconceived opinions are a waste of time and energy. A lesson that Mikal SuMartra seemed to struggle with based on the number of times he put his foot in mouth. He clearly is not the sharpest tool in the shed, I wasn’t sure if I should feel sorry for him or just laugh my ass off because once he gets past his preconceived notions on strippers he goes and sticks his foot in it again proving once again he is not the smartest student in the class.

I really liked the character of Jane, she does what she needs to do to work through life and takes pride in who she truly is and is not ashamed of it, and strong enough to say this is what she does to pay the bills but it is not who she is, refusing to let the preconceived ideology of others define her. I do think that she should have made Mikal grovel more and that she caved way to soon but hey, to each their own, it was still fun to read this story.

I thought that the book covered a lot of ground for being only 68 pages and with the added bonus of little to know errors making the story worth the time and energy it took to read it. I enjoyed reading Sweet Royal Beginnings but I am not entirely sure that the word ‘sweet’ actually fits in the title of this book.

Sweet and sexy.

Since this is a novella there was not a lot of time for twisting plot or well developed characters. That's why I'm giving it only 4 stars. However, I can see that what is here is a sweet, sexy story with promise of more to come. The sex scenes are steamy and Prince Mikal is quite swoon worthy. Jane is a strong woman who knows what she wants. I look forward to the rest of the series. What I really love about the story is that everything is straight forward and no nonsense. I really hate books where the characters don't talk to each other or keep things from each other (just to make the story longer). So, if you are looking for something with a love story with hot sex, this is it. I can recommend Sweet Royal Beginnings.

A well written short story that takes readers into the life f Jane Smith,a young woman with no family who is just trying to finish college and start a life for herself. The best way for her to make money in order to build her life is by being an exotic dancer. While dancing she meets a Prince and her life is turned upside down. A few twists and turns make this romance an interesting read.

My Real Life Prince

Sweet read that makes you chuckle and cry at times. I love how Jane keeps the Prince on his toes. I also liked how together they changed the pre-arranged marriage law to one where royalty can marry for love.

Great to read when all you want to do is to escape into love with bumps in the road but nothing too stressful on your heartstrings~

Beginnings of a Family Tradition

A potential scandal that paves the way for future royal family members to marry for love instead of duty.

A sweet and racy tale of love and devotion. This novelette doesn't disappoint. A wonderful introduction to the series!

This delightful short story had me grinning at the end. Jane & Mikael come from two very diffrent worlds. Will they find common ground in the attraction they both feel?

Not everyday I get to read about a Prince!!! Was very unexpected. Nice change for me. Love in the book Jane was a struggling student, (Very common for alot these days), but a private person paid everything for her. That was awesome!!!!! Awesome book. A must read!!!!!
