How To Avoid Death On A Daily Basis #4

How To Avoid Death On A Daily Basis Book 4: Welcome to Monsterland

Rate this book
What if you really were transported to a fantasy world and expected to kill monsters to survive?

No special abilities, no OP weapons, no status screen to boost your stats. Never mind finding the dragon’s treasure or defeating the Demon Lord, you only need to worry about one thing—how to stay alive.

All the people summoned form parties and set off on their adventures, leaving behind the people who nobody wants in their group.

Story of my life, thinks Colin.

Book 4

If you want to avoid death it's probably a good idea not to go to a place called Monsterland.

I've really been enjoying this series. It just seems to be getting better and better. The main character's cynicism/realism is a great contrast to other books of this type where the character is up beat and plucky. Here he always looks at the dark side without this being a dark story. It's often very funny with his outlook and the resulting situations. I also laughed out loud in a fair number of parts.
I am eagerly awaiting to find out what's gonna happen next!

I have read the previous books before the cover change. So my previous reviews sort of got wasted. bummer.
Anyway this if the 4th book in the series.
This time the characters go to monsterland and we learn a few things about Colin and how he got so cynical. I thought that the end was a bit more rushed than it could have been but over all I thought it was a perfectly okay novel which stayed true to Moody's style of the unconventional hero.
I found myself laughing a few times.

I find myself being able to relate to Colin more in this book.

While not as outright funny as some of the others, tis one still has a considerable amount of one-liners, humorous moments, and of course, the ever present character interactions that will leave you wanting more. This is a great series, and so far, I've liked all of the books in the series, and fully intend to continue reading them as time permits. Things aren't likely to make much sense if this is the first book in the series you've picked up, so you really should make sure to read them in order to get the most out of the story.

Can't Get Enough!

Colin is becoming increasingly proficient with his magic, and the world sees him as the answer to the problems of human and monster alike...but it isn't easy saving everyone. People can get hurt along the way.

This series is delightful and well worth the price. I highly recommend it to everyone. But do read them in order, so you can see the characters evolve.

More lulz and cultural references that make this series feel YA (except there’s sex thrown in) ( which, in this day and age, isn’t gonna throw it out of the genre). I’m enjoying it immensely and hope you will too.

Really good!

This story is different, fresh and interesting. The characters really sell it. Mc and company are alittle traumatized/crazy but very real and funny. Great series’s
