Here's the cover of my 1987 Charter mass-market (183 pages), which isn't listed here at the moment. Just FYI, the Goodreads image is actually for the 1983 Arrow Books (UK) paperback.

This book has him in the Norfolk Fens and a little more of the intrigue and who is involved starting to reveal itself. Another exciting 'episode' in the Nighthunter series which I am beginning to enjoy very much indeed. With no end yet in sight for the Nighthunter and the search for his family, I'm liking the concept that his motivations isn't so much about defeating evil and being a hero, but simply that of saving his family and the destruction of his enemies a side effect to that aim.

Read this as a kid. It mapped and shaped my literary world. I fell in love with the explicit style and intense imagery it invoked. Awesome book.
