Courted By The Mountain Prince is book one in The Mountain Prince series by Frankie Love.
Princes Violet is the oldest of three girls born to the King of Elexia. Elexia is a tropical paradise of an island where warm breezes blow and palm trees sway. But with all the beauty, the Kingdom is going bankrupt. The only thing the King can do is to marry off his daughters for large dowries to try to save the Kingdom. The eldest of the three will go first, Princess Violet.
Violet is twenty three years old and loves her kingdom so much. She has so many ideas of how she could help to build things back up again but she is a woman and her father has firm beliefs about what a woman’s role is. When she is told she is going into an arranged marriage and will have to move, she’s petrified. But if this is what she must do to save her home, she will.
Hunter Montagne is the Prince of Cressia. He is the only son, the only heir to the throne. But he is not the least bit interested in taking over the throne. He spends most of his time up in his cabin in the woods, studying the wildlife, and indulging beautiful women. Yes, Prince Hunter has quite the reputation for being wild. So much so that the public is starting to worry that there will be no one to take over when the King dies. The King decides to bring out an old law stating that the Prince must marry by his twenty-fifth birthday. So he has entered into the agreement with Elexia and arranged a bride for his son.
Where Violet is inexperienced and shy, Hunter is completely the opposite. How will these two ever come together? Not to mention that the climate in Cressia is freezing cold nine months out of the year. But when they meet, there is something. The more they talk, the more Hunter can see himself with her and only her. She stirs something in him he didn’t know was there. And for Violet, Hunter awakens all her girly parts for the very first time. There is a wild side to sweet Princess Violet and Hunter can’t wait to explore that part of her.
This is a sweet, hot, sexy little short. It’s actually not all that short. I loved the way these two sort of eased into things. Well, eased into it in about two days. I didn’t get that over the top feel, though. Which was fine for a change. I love these stories. They always give me the warm and fuzzies. I look forward to the next book, Charmed By The Mountain Prince, as the next sister in line, Iris, meets her new husband to be.

Whew! For such a short book, it definitely had a ton of steam!
The story follows Prince Hunter and Princess Violet. Hunter is being forced into an arranged marriage to Violet in an attempt by his father to control his playboy and partying ways. Violet wants nothing more than to help out her financially poor country- even if that means marrying the womanizing prince.
I loved the beginning. Through good writing, the author was able to create this fantasy world and set the scene for the rest of the book quite flawlessly. But sadly, that's where my enjoyment of the book ended. Besides the obvious and very present insta-love/lust (not a fan), the book felt very, very rushed.
Although there was a good amount of character development and depth in Hunter, Violet is a different story. She goes from a virginal princess, to some sex starved woman with a super dirty mouth in the matter of a chapter. It just didn't click with the character she portrayed herself to be in the beginning.
I could have also done without the drama that seemed to unfold every other chapter. Also, the push and pull on Hunters part got old very quickly !
So to quickly sum up: Great sex scenes, great beginning/concept and great writing. Not so great insta-love/lust and WAY too much stuff packed into one small book. I would loved to have seen this book be longer and more drawn out!

Cute but beware of Manwhoreness
What I liked - I liked the different take on a royal romance. I liked Violet. I'm not sure I'll like her sisters as much, but I love the close relationship of the 3 sisters. I like how Hunter ended up and how everything turned out. The ending leading into the next book is cool, too.
What I didn't like - The thing I like the least is Hunter having he and Violet live in the cabin he used to bring women. I think it's gross how slutty he used to be and how he had women flown to him to his cabin. I think it's weird and unrealistic that Violet said he could tell her without being embarrassed and to act like she wasn't jealous at all. Who wants to hear about the women their man has been with before? If he wasn't so disgusting in the very recent past, he would have nothing to hide or be embarrassed about. I think it's old and irritating to read stories with virgins marrying manwhores. Manwhores don't deserve virgins. The virgins deserve better. And it's just so so overdone.

What a fun story. This tale features Prince Hunter and Princess Violet. Violet is the oldest of three sisters. Violet loves her island kingdom but sadly they have fallen on hard financial times due to the mismanagement of the king, Violet's father. In order to help save the kingdom, the king has betrothed his three daughters to wealthy mountain princes in exchange for a large dowry. Violet is the first daughter to meet her prince.
Prince Hunter starts off as an arrogant jerk. He does not want to get married and is angry with his father for arranging an immediate marriage. It is the king's hope that if Hunter marries, he will settle from his playboy reputation. Surprisingly when Hunter first meets Violet he is charmed by her quiet beauty and kindness. He. Wants. her. Badly. But even more astonishing to Hunter is that Violet is resistant to his ploy to get her in bed before the wedding. The more she resists, the more he wants her.
Violet is afraid of Hunter. She knows he has a crude reputation with the ladies and because she is a virgin, that intimidates her quite a bit. Violet is determined to go through with the marriage because she is a dutiful and honorable daughter. She won't let her father or her kingdom down. She will marry Hunter to help save her country. The sexy prince has made no secret of the fact that he wants her in his bed. Violet knows as his wife she will have to have sex with him however she will not succumb to his wicked charms until their wedding night. Not before... Not even if she wants him just as badly.
Violet was sweet. I liked her. She was a little shy but courageous and strong too. Hunter starts off as a complete jerk. He was cocky, arrogant and a dirty talker. I loved him :) . Hunter quickly falls for his little princess and he was so sweet with her. This novella was dreamy and romantic, a true fairy tale. A non censored version, of course. Lol...
There are two more novellas in this series featuring Violet's younger sisters which I can't wait to read next. I'm such a sucker for these cheesy instalove/lust stories with over the top alpha men. And these stores feature the bearded mountain kind...

His father forces the issue, though, and he meets Violet for the first time. He is drawn to her, but doesn't want to get married. She doesn't want to either, really, but she feels like she has to. Once they spend some time together, they both really like each other, but can Hunter make up his mind, or will they agree to call it off?

2.5 stars. Just what I needed after reading an emotional read. Courted by the Mountain Prince is a quick and easy read with just enough swear words and sex to try and make the book interesting.

This is the first book in the Arranged Marriage series and since I loved the Modern Mail-Order Bride series I knew this would be great too. Violet is Princess of a tropical island called Elexia, she is the oldest of three girls at 23 years old. She loves her island home but it is almost bankrupt and her Father, the King is desperate to save it. The King has come up with an idea to help his island by having his daughters marry Princes whose families will pay him a dowry. Since Violet is the oldest she will marry first. Hunter is Prince of Cressia, a snowy mountain country far from Elexia. Hunter has no desire to ever be King of Cressia, he'd much rather stay in the mountain cabin that he lives in. He has quite the reputation as a playboy, having different women in and out of his secluded cabin. This was a really good book, I love arranged marriage stories and them being royalty made it even better. I look forward to Iris and Dahlia's stories.

Personally this book was a bit on the "sweet" side for me - not a bad thing in itself - just wasn't what I was looking for at this moment.
Hunter - came across as a self absorbed, rich guy with a bit of an attitude. Mostly towards his father because he didn't want to rule or wear the crown and he definitely didn't want an arranged marriage. He was more interested in studying the animals and their habitats and migration patterns in his mountainous snowy country. He really didn't even want to step up and rule or even wear the crown. He developed a bit of a playboy image for the press, never seemed to be seen with the same girl twice, type thing. Although from what I read, he sure dropped that like a hot potato when Violet stepped into the picture.
Violet - didn't want an arranged marriage either - she wanted to stay on her topical island kingdom and rule her people. However, her country was finally broke and the dowry from her marriage would help to provide some much needed capital. She seemed to be your basic good daughter and good person who didn't cause waves and helped out the needy in her country. Her father warned her to make sure to keep her virginity in tact until after the wedding ceremony and of course, she didn't.
There was a HEA or HFN ending which was nice.
Overall, a nice story, a bit predictable and sweet.

this quote sells it for me. when they‘re having sex and he‘s thinking about the baby they‘re about to make: „I don‘t care if it‘s a prince or princess. We‘ve already covered the fact that I‘m a motherfucking feminist.“.

This was a very cute quick read. It has some insta-love, royal obligations, loving siblings and a very naughty prince. Violet has been betrothed to a Hunter to save her kingdom and Hunter has been forced to marry Violet to maintain appearances. However, when these two unlikely companions meet there is nothing but chemistry. Will Hunter's past ruin any chance of having a future with Violet? Will Violet give up her dream and stay with Hunter?

The royalty angle isn't what hits my sweet spots, but men in the mountains do. So after eating up Frankie's Mountain Man books-- how was I supposed to pass up her Mountain Princes?
I was not disappointed, this series gave me more of what I've been loving about Frankie's books.
Short, hot, and rugged. Hunter and Violet were a great way to kill a little time when I was probably supposed to be doing something else!

Princess Violet of Elexia has has been told by her Father that she has to marry Prince Hunter of Cressia in order to save her country from bankruptcy. Prince Hunter's Father has agreed to pay a sizeable dowry to Princess Violet's Father if she agrees to an arranged marriage. The dowry is enough to save Elexia from financial ruin and while Princess Violet loves her country more than anything she isn't interested in getting married.
Prince Hunter is a handsome sexy playboy who enjoys living in the mountains and doesn't want the responsibilities of eventually becoming King. So when his Father tells him he has arranged for him to be married he is very upset with the news. But when he sees Princess Violet he is immediately attracted to her and visa versa; something neither of them were expecting. It was love at first sight with unstoppable sexual chemistry!

Prince Hunter is a handsome sexy playboy who enjoys living in the mountains and doesn't want the responsibilities of eventually becoming King. So when his Father tells him he has arranged for him to be married he is very upset with the news. But when he sees Princess Violet he is immediately attracted to her and visa versa; something neither of them were expecting. It was love at first sight with unstoppable sexual chemistry!

I found this so fun to read and kind of loved the way it was really steamy. And it's amazing how short these were and how amazingly fast-paced these were (the series)

Set in a fairytale world, Princess Violet and her sisters are forced to marry to save their tropical kingdom.
This story is about Violet, the oldest, who has to go thousands of miles away to a cold and mountainous region. Prince Hunter is a hottie bearded playboy and has no interest in becoming king. But his father has other plans.
Insta-attraction and erotic scenes were helpful to add some romance, but there was very little substance in terms of the characters or the narrative. Even the drama was tame and takes a back seat to the sex.

Hunter loves Violet
These two are opposites just waiting to happen. Violet is all prim and proper and her chosen future husband has a knack for being blunt about his needs. Together they are passionate, honest, and sincere about what they expect from an arranged marriage. She may be the wife that he didn't want at first but by the end she will be the only woman he will ever desire and love forever. Great character development and resolution but it needs sexual intensity. Frankie Love is getting there though.

Lost in bad edits
I really wanted to like this story. I saw the blurb and was excited to read this. Unfortunately the bad editing and wrong use of words lost me.
At first I thought I go push past it and keep reading but this wasn't the case. The story wasn't strong enough to take my focus off the bad edits. I would love to read this book again once the author does rewrites and gets a better editor.

For a shorter book, this was pretty good. I felt there could have been more to the characters and the book itself. Hunter was......a schmuck. I really think he was hot and cold. There were inconsistencies with him, IMO. She's a Princess, but she gives it up SO easy. I would have expected more fight.

Princess Violet agrees to marry Prince Hunter in order to help save her country, but neither of them were prepared for the sparks that flew between them. Hunter is a bad boy, and his attraction to Violet was so fast and hard. Violet and this mountain prince paved a way together that was steamy and heartwarming. Loved it!

The book was good but it wasn't great. The story & the characters lacked depth. The sex scenes were hot but I have read even hotter. Probably the fact that the storyline wasn't great reduced the intensity of the scenes. Foreplay is important(Storyline) for the sex to be good and that's what this book lacked.

Modern day fairy tale arranged marriage. Prince Hunter was definitely a cocky bastard that took some getting used to but he did grow on me. He was given his own way much too often so I was glad that Violet was giving him the cold shoulder. I only wished she had held out longer and made him really work for it! He does come around towards the end. The proposal was weepy worthy :)

Cheesy...but I loved it!
This story was pure insta-love at its best. A guilty pleasure for sure. I completely fell in love with Hunter & Violet and am so happy they got their HEA. Can't wait to read the next one.

And I was getting pissed thinking that the little drama at the end was going to ruin the story, bam! It didn't!! Yay!!!
Loved the HEA! can't wait to read the next book about Iris.
