Designing UX: Forms: Create Forms That Don't Drive Your Users Crazy

Rate this book
A recent study found that on average, designing a form to have a great user experience almost doubled the rate of successful first-time completions. For example, Ebay made an additional $USD 500 million annually from redesigning just the button on one of their mobile form screens.
More conversions, fewer dissatisfied users, better return on investment. Can you afford not to improve your forms' user experiences?
This book will walk you through every part of designing a great forms user experience. From the words, to how the form looks, and on to interactivity, you'll learn how to design a web form that works beautifully on mobiles, laptops and desktops. Filled with practical and engaging insights, and plenty of real-world examples, both good and bad.
You'll learn answers to common queries like:

An easy to read and accessible book that deals with the theoretical and practical aspects of form design.

The information is delivered in a straightforward manner and is concise and comprehensive. The examples are also very interesting and have real world relevance.

A must-read beginner's guide to form design!

Wavering between 3 and 4 stars...let's say 3.5. Overall liked it, apart from one or two pieces of advice which I found a bit too dogmatic. The use of real-life examples was certainly interesting. Also I come from a software background, and I thought the balance between theory and application/technology was good for most readers.

Enjoyable Read

A little brief (I kept wanting more examples.) However, I learned some things which is the mark of a good teacher. Clearly the author has a lot of experience and wisdom, and the writing style is succinct.

Probably the only book you'll ever need to read about designing forms. Extremely thorough and well structured.

I found the book very interesting.
Such a pity that some examples were mainly focussed on banking anyway overall useful and I will go back to read again the useful insights in it.

Loved it because it is based on the last decade of research and advances in the UX-for-forms field and presents what is the best practice in all fields (for forms):
- Design
- Copy
- Error handling
- Validation
- Components (ex: avoid pickers)

A reference that I will most certainly refer to in the future.
