Minerva enjoys her life as a master mage. She creates spells that no one has seen before and enjoys her family and friends. She will do anything for them, and she has. Her side job is to act as an intermediary between extranatural races, and that is what she is doing the day that she walks into the dragon’s den. Running from the dragon makes her confront her origins, and things get even more complicated from there. Zemuel is an ancient being that owns lands and mines that contain strategic materials for other races. All he asks for an audience is that he be entertained by the envoy. Minerva has her work cut out for her. She really should have stuck to business only. So, mate-hungry dragons, ancient gods and a surprising pedigree mean that Minerva’s world just turned upside-down, and anchoring herself will mean surrendering a piece of her soul.
I feel like this is the right length of book for this author. Sometimes she kicks out a novelette at 60 pages and it feels like boilerplate. I find I much prefer this novella length from her - I enjoy her stories so much, the novelette length just doesn't do them justice with so few pages.
This series in particular is great! #s 4-7 have been some of this author's best work, and I say that having read everything she's published. Everything. Her Terrans and aliens hold a special place in my heart, but I'm loving this focus on magic so much.
On the door you meet your fated mate you’re happy to trade sexual favours with someone else? The ‘hero’ is an arms dealer who likes to use his power to humiliate people and encourages sexual bargains. I’m not sure what happened to this series, Benny was a fully formed character with a story you could engage with. Sadly no more.
DON'T we even get to at least HAVE the baby's gender? Name? And whether or not they're Majicle??this is good book for young adults who already know about the Bird's and Bee's. Basically speaking and the magic i most fun. A Goddess & a Dragon . Who'd of thought!
This book comes highly recommended. Part of a brilliant series, I haven't found a bad one yet. It's worth reading them all in order, but the characters, romances, family curses- you never know what will happen.
I loved this story. The creators were unexpected. The characters were engaging and the storyline was captivating, I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more.
I love this series. It's Minerva's turn to find her mate and learn her destiny. I love dragons and Zemuel didn't disappoint. He made the perfect mate for Min. A fun fast and steamy story, with the Granger's lending a hand, Min's mom providing unconditional love and support, a few ancient goddesses with a plan for a modern goddess, and some ancient gods who get what they deserve when they try to use Min to bring back their glory days.
Although this series is a little different from Viola Grace's normal writting, I am in love with it. The books are a little longer but still have her snarky wit and unique spin on the life of "extranaturals" and their interaction with the world around them. I am looking forward to the next book and wish she could write as fast as I can read.
It is an interesting read, only because it ties up open ends in the books previous in the series. However the timeline is slightly askew when compared to the books 1 - 3 where Minny love interest is first mentioned. If you did not enjoy the previous books I would not recommend that you read this novel number 7.
