Chibi Vampire #10

Chibi Vampire, Vol. 10

Rate this book
A cute little girl who happens to be a vampire, Karin has blood to spare, so rather than stealing blood from humans, she gives her blood to them, an experience that, if done right, benefits the "victim" as much as the vampire, but Karin never seems to do things right.

For once, everything in Karin's life seems to be going smoothly.

She and Kenta have declared their love for each other, and Karin has finally met another vampire, her and Kenta’s coworker, Yuriya Tachibana, who is a half vampire the child of a vampire and a human. She also seems to have a similar blood problem to Karin and possibly her friendship can further help her explain her blood increases.

However, Karin's train of good luck becomes derailed with the return of her grandmother, Elda Marker, who wakes up and catches Karin and Kenta right before they shared their very first kiss and she is not happy that Karin or her family have allowed a human to know about their existence in Japan. She’s also even less happy that her granddaughter is dating a human and that there is a “half breed” vampire in their territory.

When Elda finally learns the truth that Karin is also not a normal bloodsucking vampire but a blood giver, she is more concerned then ever about Karin’s future. We also find out the truth about why vampires and human relationships are so taboo is because children made from them cannot reproduce their offspring, effectively ending the bloodline. Will this affect Kenta’s feelings for Karin when he learns the truth?

This is the part of the series where everything that’s been building up really hits a boiling point, especially with the reawakening of Elda, the human hating, spit image, vixen grandmother and matriarch of the Marker family.

A lot of cool stuff is revealed and we also see more of the backstory of Elda and how she came to resettle in Japan after humans killed their vampire clan in Europe in the 18th century. It also has a lot of its trademark humor even though the darker subjects in this volume. Oh, and we find out Kenta is a leap year baby. 😆

Inhalt:

Grandma woke up and is mad

I said that they would be fine until Elda woke up because I didn't think she woke up again until 12 and then there she was. Causing chaos because she was not happy. Is she ever really happy? Not really.

Is Karin trying her best? Yes. Are the boob jokes getting more frequent for no reason? Yes. Usui is also trying his best but let it be known that no one is better than his mother. She is the best of them all..

We also got a bunch of Elda and James content in this volume that I hope carries on to the later volumes because I can get a whole series on them and not even be upset (even though I know it won't happen now)

With the interesting backstory, I think my opinion has changed about the grandma. Before she was a scary vampire that would attack anyone and anything, now she is someone that I just protecting her precious family….. I respect that!

Also, I hope we get answers in the next volume!

I really like this story! I like the characters and seeing how they get through difficulties.

I could have done without the nudity, and an disappointed that someone chose to deface the comic with pen to make it even more inappropriate.

Not the best volume but the story is moving along. Grandma is my least favorite character.

The hilarious adventures of a little vampire that couldn't. Things are finally going great for Karin. She's now officially going out with Kenta, and she's even met another vampire who has similar problems to hers. However, her luck may not continue when she finds out the true reason behind the love between vampires and humans.

The reason? Half breeds can't re-produce. Don't barf.

Wow! A lot more happened in this volume than I expected. In Volume 10 there was not the back step in Kenta and Karin's relationship that I was expecting, it moved forward! Karin's grandmother awakes again and this time nothing is hidden from her. The back story explains Elda too so even with the unresolved bit with Caldera it was a very satisfying read.

Wow just wow, so much has happened in this volume that I was almost tearing the pages out in my desperation to read them faster. They are finally going out but the reason why humans and vampires can't have relationships look like they may tear Karin's whole happiness apart.
