2nd Edition

When easygoing Texas artist Dakin McBride makes his way to Ottawa, Canada, for a showing, he meets Jeff Tamrin, the fastidious manager of the Sussex Gallery. Despite coming from different worlds and being opposites in almost every way, the attraction is immediate, and soon Dakin and Jeff negotiate their own brand of diplomatic relations, forgetting all about art or seeing the sights the city has to offer. They get wrapped up in the moment, each of them intrigued by what he feels for the other.

The more they get to know each other, the more they like what they see. Dakin has a life to go back to in Texas, though, and Jeff has his own in Canada. Is there any way for their budding romance to survive the thousands of miles separating them? The relationship seems doomed, but at the same time, it feels too right to give up without a fight.

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

From the Get Go is a sweet short that covers the meeting, flirting, fucking and falling in love between Jeff (from Ottawa) and Dakin (from Texas). There is an immediate attraction between the two of them when Dakin comes to town to be part of the exhibit at the gallery where Jeff works. Jeff’s pretty sure he shouldn’t be boning the resident artists, but the two really hit it off hard and there’s no keeping their hands to themselves once they crossed the line.

The best part of the story is the flirting between the two of them. It was nice to read a story with no angst and just two hotties getting to know one another with some sweet and sexy banter. Followed, of course, by a lot of consummating. A. Lot. Of. Consummating. Which Sean Michael always does well. There was an inconsistency that jumped out at me, in one scene Jeff is giving Dakin a quality blowie complete with condom. Good for you, safety first. Next boning scene he’s licking the come from Dakin’s chest. And dudes, your choices are yours it just seems if your characters are going to change things up it should be acknowledged, especially with something so important.

The two can’t imagine life without one another and the love comes along quickly. They were both down with it and while it was fast, it was still sweet. Geography is a problem though and they solve it temporarily by Jeff taking some well deserved vacation time in Texas. Here the sweet talk and epic boning continues Texas style. Dakin got to meet Jeff’s family in Ottawa and now Jeff gets to meet Dakin’s family. It’s obvious these two are taking their relationship seriously with being introduced to family and all. Of course the families love the men’s new squeezes because that’s how this sweet story rolls.

As their time together draws to a close, the two are already feeling the upcoming heartbreak. They talk it all out and agree that anything is possible and they love one another enough to make their lives work. Sure, it’s easy and way too simple to be realistic, but this story isn’t about troubles and long BS bureaucracy, it’s a feel good Hallmark flavored fairytale that leaves you feeling all warm and gooshy inside with all the love.

*****4.5 My Kindle is Smoking Stars*****

WOW! I'm not sure I have read anything that starts out with the two main characters experiencing such intense sexual chemistry, but it ignited immediately with Jeff and Dakin! Jeff is a good looking, detail oriented, by the book, art gallery administrator. Dakin is a laid back, sexy, ranch owner leather artisan displaying his craftsmanship. When they meet, the firefighters had to be called to douse my kindle!

Jeff swore he could smell leather on him too, rich and strong and pure, unadulterated sex.

Turn your fan on immediately!

Even though Jeff knows he should not get involved with a client of the gallery, nothing will stop him from being with Dakin. Strong, deep feelings develop between them and as Dakin readies to fly back to Texas, Jeff does not want him to go!

He felt like Dakin was making art of him, forming him, turning him into something beautiful.

Dakin feels such a strong emotional connection to Jeff and doesn't want to leave Jeff behind. He invites Jeff to visit his ranch in Texas.

“I should have brought more shorts.”

“I’m kind of hoping to not need them much.”“Oooh… naked company!” Dakin chuckled . “Just watch the calves. They might see something dangling and… misunderstand.”

“No, baby. I’m gonna fix what’s wrong with your legs. This stuff’s like magic.” Magic, but stinky. Dakin coated his hands in white stuff, then those hands landed on Jeff’s legs and Dakin dug in. Oh God. Better than sex. Jeff lay back, eyes closed as he moaned. “Oh God, Dakin. For that I’ll have your babies.” Dakin chuckled. “Promises, promises.”

Jeff lives in Canada, his family and job are there. Dakin lives in Texas, his ranch, job and family live there. What do they do?

To find out if they make their long distance relationship work, check out this steamy romance from Sean Michael!

An easygoing artist/cowboy from Texas and a detail-oriented manager of an art gallery from Canada may not sound like the most natural fit, but Dakin and Jeff hit it off from the get-go. Watching them meet when Dakin comes to Ottawa for an exhibition of his leather art was fun, entertaining, and soon turned very hot. These two men may come from very different worlds, but they have one thing in common: their attraction to each other.

In this book Sean Michaels has made it where his characters have the delima of living in two different countries but being head over heals in love with each other. It is a short story and a decent read.

Dakin and Jeff meet when Dakin comes to Ottawa to show some of his work. Jeff is the manager of the gallery that is showing Dakin's work and Jeff is smitten from the first hello.

After talking about the exhibit and showing Dakin where he will be set up to show his work, the two men got to talking and enjoyed each other's company. Both decided to keep the other company over supper where each of them upped their flirting back and forth and decided to spend the night together.

From that moment on they were inseparable the remainder of the time Dakin was in town. Jeff liked Dakin so much that he introduced him to his family which also loved him too.

When time to go back to Texas, Dakin asked Jeff to join him which Jeff readily agreed too. Jeff took three weeks vacation and joined Dakin a week after he went back to Texas.

In that time the two men continued to get closer and Hefd decided he wanted to stay. Dakin would not have it any other way. The problem was if he could get citizenship or not. Only time would tell.

This was a quick read that had a lot of steamy sex scenes in it. I enjoyed his book but it was not my favorite by Sean Michaels. I did not feel that there was a lot drama in this book, which is not a bad thing but at the same time there was more sex scenes then there was storyline. Which I did not personally like. I like to have equal parts. But regardless it was a decent read.

Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

This was a fun quick read. I have greatly enjoyed Sean Michael’s books in the past and this one was no different. Jeff and Dakin feel an immediate attraction to each other upon meeting and decide to act upon it even though their time together is limited.

Jeff falls for Dakin pretty hard and quickly when Dakin is in town for the gallery show. They can’t stand the idea of being parted, so Dakin invites Jeff to come and visit him in Texas when the show is over. Both of the characters fall hard and fast, but decide to live in the moment until they actually see an end of their time together. I adored both character’s they were so sweet to each other and also their family around them. They worked hard to integrate their lives together, which was wonderful to see.

Cover art by LC Chase is perfect and I love it.

Dakin is going to Canada to an art gallery where he meets the director Jeff and its attraction from the get-go. The problem is Dakin has his ranch; Jeff has a good job where he is. Is it just lust they can walk away from or is it more?
From the get go, is a short story about falling in love in another country and learning to deal or make a new life decision. It's fun to read the story, with a quirky writing style and smoking hot man-sex. I wish there had been a bit more story than all the sex but its still a good, uplifting, quick read.

If you like a short story, cowboys, artists, leatherwork, instalove, and lots and lots of smokin man-sex, this is for you.

Timeless Romance

Even though originally published in 2005, this one has all the hallmarks of a contemporary romance set in 2016--including the insta-love that sweeps metrosexual Jeff and cowboy artist Dakin off their penny loafers and boots, respectively.

Author Sean Michael does a remarkable job of fleshing out these two polar opposites in this novella--and the heat of their attraction is handled beautifully when it is consummated.

I loved this one from beginning to well-anticipated end, and it took just about a minute to get me smiling through the rest of the book, which I finished in about an hour.
