The Prophecy Unfolds: Dragon Queen

Rate this book
Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away - Anon. For Alex, this was supposed to be a fresh start. New job, new part of the country. But she got much more than she bargained for. As she travelled through the Snowdonian National park, with its remote villages and Wales' highest mountains, she stops to eat a bite to eat. There she is kidnapped by three strangers, and transported to the Dystopian, Steampunk world of Syros. A world of dragons, magic and werewolves. Where science fiction meets science fact. This is only the beginning of an epic urban fantasy, and the fulfilment of a prophecy over 200 years old. Will she survive on a planet where three factions battle for dominance. Book One of the series Dragon Queen.

Horrible spineless doormat heroine.
This book was supposed to be menage/erotica but it was just pretty lame.
I didn't feel like I was reading a story as much as I was listening to someone recount the story to me. Just lacking detail & depth.

The idea of the story is quite good but it lacked depth. It seemed patchy in parts and I feel I don't know the characters very well. It felt very, and looked YA based yet the sexual content which is in very graphic detail is certainly not for the under 18's and nowhere on the book is this mentioned.
I'm not sure if I will read the second book when it's released as I will forget about this book very quickly.

The Prophecy Unfolds (Dragon Queen) - Scarlett Flame

### 3.75 Hashtags ###

As a massive erotic paranormal fan, I was surprised to find this intriguingly different !

Alex finds herself kidnapped via a portal to the planet Syros by not one but three werewolves who all want mate and share her. As does the dragon rider. Can she work out what's going on and decide who she should be with ?

I really did enjoy this very unusual story along with so many extreme twists. However, everything moved at a much too fast pace for me and felt very unreal (yes I know we're talking paranormal here)! Also, why was Alex so accepting of her abductors and why didn't she put up more of a fight to go home and see her father ?

Having said this, this was an enjoyable read with a different edge from the usual.

Whilst this is classified as a fantasy novel, it bears as much resemblance to the usual fantasy novels as the immortal line "I've come to fix your fridge" does to the domestic appliance repair trade. Instead we are served a hearty romp with a very sketchy plot line interspersed with some very detailed sex scenes.
Would I recommend this? It depends what you are looking for - a quick read with juicy bits - definitely yes. It was an enjoyable romp, even if the various plot lines were thin and loosely tied together, more a voyage of convenience to link the other action.
If you're looking for epic fantasy with detailed worlds and complex character interaction, then no - please avoid.
In conclusion, 3 stars reflects what I consider an enjoyable deviation from the norm, although it is unlikely to be a series I pursue any further.
As always, though - it's still a pleasure to receive and review ARC's so thanks Scarlett.

This book was recommended to me and although it's slightly out of the norm for what I would normally read, I LOVED IT.
This author has a great writing style and I love the way she describes not only the real world but also Syros. I felt like I was transported with Alex and could visualise it clearly.
I love Alex's character and want to follow the rest of this story as it unfolds.
Hurry up with the next book in this series x

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I had never read a book like this and I was so glad I did.
Scarlett Flame has created such a complex and captivating story with this world of dragons, dragon riders and werewolves. I loved every page. What do you get when you combine a prophecy about one girl and 3 different races fighting to own her? One major love story!
Warning: you will be hooked after this book.

Amount of sex 5 / 5
How explicit 4 / 5
Story 4.5 / 5
Overall: 4.5 / 5 (Rounded to 5 / 5)

What do you do if three hot guys suggest you are their mate from a prophecy? And then another guy on a flying dragon says you're his mate? Well, if you're Alex - you get a little freaked out (and are perpetually naked), but you kinda go with the flow. Alex gets tangled up with a hot trio of werewolves - who are all her mate and want to mate with her (as a group). Then she finds herself in another part of this strange world with a dragon rider - where people can talk telepathically and well, dang it, everyone wants to mate with her. Their all wanting to mate with her is because she is part of a mystical prophecy, where she's the queen.

Overall, Alex handles the changes in her Earth to Syros life pretty well. She manages to not really overthink it and gets swept-up with the hot guys all wanting her. She becomes involved and excited about her new life in what is surely the first of many books about the complicated world of dragons, werewolves, and wizards.

I enjoyed The Prophecy Unfolds: Dragon Queen. It was fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. The characters and the world of Syros are well drawn without being bogged down in exposition. Oh and because it is Scarlett Flame - ummmm it is super sexy and panty melting. Alex is well taken care of in all ways (if you get my drift).

Another great book by Ms. Flame!

I really wanted to enjoy this, I need to like or be able to stand the characters. But Alex was a tacky dumb character she believed everything she was told, couldn't control her sexual urges for two minutes. I have no qualms with multiple partners but this character is kind of nasty (mated pregnant but eager to sleep with captor actor 5 minutes) and as dumb as a rock. The world building is limited and the steampunk is nonexistent. I would have enjoyed the story without all the sex and without Alex, she was terrible character. With that said its a typical earthling saves our planet/ race storyline with kink, its not bad this story just was not for me.

The Prophecy Unfolds (Dragon Queen)

I'm going to Wales to get kidnapped and taken to Syro! Syrol is an amazing steampunk world that I would love to visit or even live. Yes I will admit I'm weird hehehe

Alex one of the main characters finds her in a new world with hot werewolfs, dragon riders and all things magic! but all of them want her has there mate. Will her kidnappers allow her to go back home or will set fall in love with Syros and find her true mate!

Scarlett never disappoints!  I love paranormal fantasy and this is another great story Scarlett has taken though. My only problem is I NEED MORE!! Don't keep us waiting too long hun.. my mind cannot wait for more!! #fangirlinhg #noOnestalkerfan
