I found this book in a used bookstore. It seemed so strange, I just had to get it. It contains news photos of human interest stories, including early inventions, from the early to mid twentieth century. This might be a fun book to give to someone who is a news photographer, but make sure they know it is not an instructional book, and that the recipient has a sense of humor (or, at the very least, is attracted to strange photos).

Funky little collection of photos of all kinds of stuff, from the Statue of Liberty's torch as seen from the statue's head to nutty Rube Goldbergian inventions of an earlier era. From a condutor leading an all-harmonica orchestra to a bathing beauty in a marabou bikini weighing a turkey. Just all kinds of loopy old-time news photos.
