This did wrap up about how I expected. I like the new series but so far I still prefer the original Battlestar Galactica. I do like the deeper stories at play here with the Cylon-human interaction.

I did enjoy this volume enough to read some more of the reboot series. Not great, but not bad.

The last part of Dynamite Comics’ trilogy, Battlestar Galactica: Volume III wraps up the series with a rather disappointing and perfunctory adventure into the heart of Cylon space. As the Fleet continues to combat the Returner virus, Sharon leads a collection of Cylons to a Cylon basestar to confront their makers and get answers. The story gets even more confusing and existential in this last volume as it’s full of dreams and false realities. And while things are kind of sussed out by the end, there’s still some ambiguity as to what was real and what wasn’t. The art too is pretty lackluster, as the character designs aren’t quite as sharp and the coloring not as textured. Also, the storyboards seem haphazardly put together and oddly organized. Poorly crafted and lacking vision, Battlestar Galactica: Volume III fumbles about without a clear direction and wastes whatever potential the series had going for it.

The final part in Dynamite's BSG trilogy delivers a deep, experimental and tender examination on identity, mirroring the themes of the TV-series in a familiar but adequately fresh way. This is the best of the three volumes after the slightly chaotic I and II, using surrealism and unconventional storytelling devices that do justice to the source material. And like before, the story is still not afraid to make some startling conclusions and revelations about the BSG mythology. Truly worth a read for all the fans of the show.

More of a quick series review: awesome piece of SiFi, if you are dying for a quick read in a really cool space setting this is your ticket. The story is filled with twists and turns and all that juicy drama!

Overall, was an okay series. But I’ve seen better stuff out out by Pak.

The quality of the artwork falls down a bit in this volume, but the story finishes up nicely.
