So my new client has a hell of a new case: Find the Talon of Frost - something that disappeared during the last Ice Age. I mean, he got me off for a bunch of charges, so I guess I owe him. I just don't know what gave him the idea that I like hanging around in the snow. I moved to Texas for a reason.
Didn't everyone get the memo that demons hate the cold? But sure as Hell is hot, a cold front's coming through Texas. And I'm the only one who can stop it. With the temperature dropping, and a nasty beast feasting on people with reckless abandon, little old Inonda's becoming chillier by the minute.

This was a better book than the first one. I'm still not sold on Kalos as a character but I think Argos is adorable. Imagine a dog that reads and likes to drink coffee!!
Exciting! An adventurous thrill ride full of unpredictable twists. I enjoyed the story it was hard to put down but I also felt like it needed a moment to breath at times.
I chose to read this book because it was available for free to read with a Kindle Unlimited subscription through Amazon. Of course, reading through Kindle App was the medium at which I read this book.
Certainly a step in a better direction from the previous book, but large chunks and characters felt immensely hallow. The story flowed at a decent rate, but as a character, Kalos was still horrendously forced. He definitely wasn't the part of the book I looked forward to. He was my least favorite character.
Argos, on the other hand, remains my favorite character. Who wouldn't want a dog that likes to read and drink coffee! Not to mention, true to his canine vessel, he is very loyal and loving. It makes me, again, wish I could communicate with my own dogs.
All that being said, given this is a trilogy... I will give the third book a read to finish up the series, if nothing else. Rating was 3 out of 5 stars mostly because of the main character remaining stiffer than a mahogany board.
It is hard for a mere human, like me, to wrap his mind around the possible sheer knowledge of a creature 7000 years old, and yet all that knowledge and awareness doesn't help the half demon at all. The characters in this story are vastly fascinating, the plot is one crap storm after another, and the premise is finding the talon of a long extinct monster and stopping another way too early Ice Age. I definitely recommend this book and the first one.
After reading (and disliking) the first book, I decided to try the second anyway. I didn't like it at all. There is too much missing from the story for it to flow well for me. I didn't even attempt the third book.
I chose a 5 star rating because I like his or her style of writing. The story moves along well! Am now on to the final book! Hope his luck runs better! Love his dog!😁
I really enjoyed the book. I like how I learned even more about Kalos. I'm confused how the Sol counsel is trying to make him work with them. I can't wait to see what happens with him and Nadia. It's not a bounty hunter book but it's definitely an enjoyable read.
Kindle Unlimited, little bit of this that and the other from Demon Rogue (The Half-Demon Rogue Trilogy Book 1) to Blood Frost (The Half-Demon Rogue Trilogy Book 2) on to Moon Burn (The Half-Demon Rogue Trilogy Book 3) with the 3 set making it easy for no cliffhangers just get this one, or get them separately and just read straight through.Bought some separately, then buy trilogy or get on ku, simple.
Storm Pale
Bone Realm (Ruby Callaway #0.5) Lightning Blade (Ruby Callaway Book 1)
An unbelievable number of editing errors - extra words, mostly - that took you out of the story multiple times per page.
The paranormal (demons, vampires, witches, ancient gods, etc) story line had great promise, but it was so hard to follow when you had to stop and mentally delete errors in wording and then mentally rewrite the sentence in order to comprehend what Kalos was trying to get across (novel written in 1st person POV).
Three stars for story line, but the editing really made it a 2-star read.
I love this series. A good, solid storyline and interesting characters. Hilarious at times, and very "real" I can't help feeling for Kal the protagonist. Definitely recommend it to fans of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.
