Unlike the few other books I read on the subject; this one has more practical and applicable advice than New Age mumbo-jumbo. Many of the suggestions seem to be spot-on and yielded immediate results when I tried them. Definitely recommended even if you are not a believer in the self-help genre.
Published in 1998, much of this book is quite outdated and no longer relevant. Took notes from sections that I did learn from, but it is largely redundant. While the technology aspect of the book no longer holds up, people are largely the same and so got some good stuff from the people management sections. Was worth picking up from the charity shop, but time to return it for the next person to pick up!
self helps books can be a hit or miss, but during the covid19 crap, I found it really helpful. is this book groundbreaking? no it's not. but it does have some really good tips on staying calm from relearning how to breathe to how to not procrastinate. overall it's a good book with good tips here and there
Not a bad read but I did find myself leafing through the pages and choosing which chapters to read, based off of what advice I felt was most beneficial to me. Although the advice was a bit redundant, I enjoyed taking the quizzes and understanding where I stood in how I tackle my work days.
Apart from the usual 'dos and don'ts' type of advice, this books offers a technique which i found very useful and unique - the one to induce a self-hypnotic trance as a precursor to meditation
