The Greatest Communicator: What Ronald Reagan Taught Me About Politics, Leadership, and Life
The outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes following Ronald Reagan’s death demonstrated the love and admiration people still have for our nation’s 40th president. Now, in this affectionate memoir, Reagan’s chief political strategist and friend for 36 years offers a fascinating close-up portrait of the Great Communicator. Taking us inside the 1980 and 1984 presidential campaigns and beyond, Dick Wirthlin shares illuminating anecdotes, off-the-record remarks, and private moments that reveal the true Ronald Reagan. Through it all, Wirthlin points out the unique qualities and talents that made Reagan such a strong leader-and such a great communicator. For anyone who has fond memories of the late president, this admiring reminiscence brilliantly conjures up the strong values, gregarious charm, and all-American optimism that made Ronald Reagan great.

It's about the relationship of president Reagan with the author of this book.

Great perspective from Reagan's pollster (employed by Reagan from his days as California governer to the end of his political career), who became a fast friend and admirer of "The Great Communicator", and who often was privy to Reagan's most personal moments.

Abandoned it at 1/3 - not my kind of read. It's not really about Reagan, it's rather a story of Wirthlin's relationship with Reagan and his perception of a great man who won the Cold War and put the nail in the coffin of the Soviet Empire.

I enjoyed learning about President Reagan from one of his closest men. Reagan was a good person and a true patriot. His gift with words and his care for people gave him power in his value-driven approach to leadership. Reagan was a class act and a blessing to our country.
