BLACKGUARD OF A BLOCKADE-RUNNER Freedom Walker was too proud to show fear before Captain Ty Carrington's furious accusations. She was NOT a Union spy; she was only helping a runaway slave escape by stowing away aboard Carrington's sea vessel. For now, though, she was at the blockade runner's mercy, and would have to submit stoically to his search through her clothing for secret documents. But as her slender curves were revealed to his scrutiny and his fingers brushed intimately over her porcelain-white flesh, Freedom shivered with something more than fear. A man like Carrington would be difficult to deny, no matter what he demanded...
BEAUTY OF AN ABOLITIONIST Even after his futile search for evidence - one that he'd made sure was thorough - Carrington was not completely convinced that the little stowaway wasn't a traitor. If she was smart, she wouldn't be carrying anything on her anyway. But Carrington had a way of dealing with deceptive women - even ones as seemingly virtuous and self-righteous as Freedom Walker. He'd see how virtuous she really was when he continued his exploration of her tantalizing body during their long nights at sea, and what secrets a few slow, sensual kisses could coax from those prim lips!
Katharine Kincaid is the author of twenty-two historical romance novels and four novellas. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and sold around the world, even in such far-flung locations as Russia and China. A longtime Ohio resident, she now calls Hawaii home and enjoys spending time with children, grandchildren and her first great grandchild. Horses have been a lifelong passion. Katharine currently is owned and managed by a beautiful, much-spoiled Friesian horse who doesn’t yet have his own book but is working on it.

As I slowly (that’s up for debate but at least I am trying) begin to wrap up my time reading these historical romances, I see I have found a new genre to explore and love, but one that seems more…common now and not new.
The book follows our herione Freedom Walker(what a beautiful name), a Northern girl who supports the Union. She despises slavery and this is very evident throughout the book. She is 20, her parents have both died.
Tiger “Ty” Carrington is one heck of a hero, and much more sexier then Rhett Butler. He oozes perfection and muscles, and it’s no wonder Freedom falls for him, I don’t blame him her. He supports the Confederacy (he hates slavery though) but will not abandon his patriotic duty. His mother dies, and doesn’t really love him. He has his own plantation called Cedar Hall.
Interesting side characters include a runaway slave Freedom wants to help aid in escape, and their own families along with many different family and friends.
Freedom and Ty constantly clash and the gaps in their relationship stem from both of the different sides they support during the Civil War. Ty hits a rough patch with Freedom and leaves her when the North wins, but he eventually comes to support her and learns to love her again. They then have their own child and Ty joins the Souths effort during the Reconstruction era. And then Freedom and Ty make love throughout the night and have their own HEA- yeah, you get what I mean.
The Hh’s initial interactions was cute and funny. But too much of separation and misunderstanding for my taste. The H just keeps leaving h even without clearing doubts. I don’t like romances where H is fine with forgetting h as his cause is more important . I agree the h is equally stubborn. The romance is sidelined. I hate it when the politics and war are more priority to the main leads especially the H. They always make up and breakup every time because both support different side of the war. Also H is one of the worst hero. He let her get caught and just leaves her. It doesn’t matter if he comes back because by then he was a lost cause. And he trying to forget h by trying to get it with a prostitute was the last straw (although he couldn’t get it up).
