Sfurti Sahare is an enthusiastic girl who likes to do everything with great passion. Nagpur-born Sfurti completed her degree in computer engineering from Pune University and turned her attention to motivational speaking to inspire the young and the old alike and make a difference in their lives. Driven by her love for cricket, Sfurti aspires to work with the Indian cricket team in the near future.
I good attempt. Sfurti talks about great qualities of MSD and tried to find the logical explanation of his excellent performance under pressure. But her explanations are very superficial. 5 Star for efforts but there are a lot of things she needs to explore about Dhoni when it comes to mind game. Spirituality plays a big role in MSD's life. I see a clear connection but the author couldn't explore these things in depth.
(The book was okay but my review is going to say nothing about the book but the man himself and it’s personal but it needs to be said.) This man’s existence has been a gift to me. The only time I remember being happy as a kid was when I used to watch him play, he kind of saved me from so much despair growing up. The greatest sportsman I know and even a better human. He’s just second to my sister in the list of people I will fight the world for and the list is two names long. I am going to love this man until my last day.
Just wished for it to have been better proof read (certain typos and grammatical mistakes here and there), but appreciate the sincere attempt, hard work and the confidence to write Dhoni s memoir.
Just recently, the best Indian Captain till date, the legend M. S. Dhoni, announced his retirement as a captain for limited over Cricket and gave the captaincy of all the three formats completely to Virat Kohli. The decision taken by him came at such a perfect time considering that Dhoni does not find himself captaining the team in 2019 World Cup that we couldn't stop talking about him. This led the reader in me to read a book based on Mr. Dhoni and I got my hands on "Think and Win like Dhoni" written by Sfurti Sahare. As obvious, this book is published by Jaico Publication which has never shied away from publishing the contents which no other publication dares to.
I remember I read a book written on Salman Khan about why he is the way he is. The name of the book was "Being Salman" and after completing it, I was so disappointed that I decided never to read any such books which will talk about why a certain personality behaves in a certain manner. This book is also on the same lines but I am astonished at the fact that being the 1st time author, Ms. Sfurti Sahare have managed the topic so well on how Dhoni takes difficult decisions keeping himself calm on the field that I would like to read more book from her on different topics now.
Talking about a personality like Dhoni, it could have been possible that the book would have talked about obvious facts and cliche. But the authoress have actually given some great tips for us to become successful in our decision-making capabilities by giving meaningful examples of Dhoni's decisions on the field that can surely make us successful and a good human being. There are stuffs which we are actually unaware about Dhoni regarding how it is easy for him to be so detached with success, fear, failure, achievements etc in the times when other players over-react on and off field. I liked the conversation between the author and the man himself in middle of the chapters. Reading what Dhoni feels about certain things in his own words has been a great experience.
There is a lot of learning that a reader can take with himself after reading the book. Author have nicely categorized the chapters and the sub-topics. You can feel each and every desperate emotion of authoress where she wants you to adopt Dhoni's exemplary style in your own life and achieve your goals and yet stay grounded. The only drawback that I felt while reading the book is the repetition of the same incidents again and again. Also, there are few typos here and there. Rather than repeating the same incident again and again, author could have mentioned the incident and then listed down all that we can learn from it.
Otherwise, this book is one of the perfect non-fiction books that one should surely read. For Dhoni's fans, this book is a must thing in their shelf. Author's research and deep knowledge in the subject impresses the reader a lot. Being a woman, her interest in Cricket and the insights that she provides is hard to believe. Kudos to the authoress for her efforts. I give this book 4.25* out of 5. I wish it had 100 more pages. The book is that good.
I read this book in Tamil language. This book is for people who have a dream. This is not about cricket. A small town boy who became world famous is definitely and inspiration to many. This book discuss the 5 qualities that MSD follows in his life which made him a champion. When we practice those, we will surely succeed in our dream. The great mind of Mahi bhai functions clearly even in tough situations. One should read this to get a clear idea of their dream and path to it.
I picked this book just because I am a big fan of Ms Dhoni and when I am reading the book , I started admiring Sfurti mam's writing skills. She was 23 years old , the youngest woman to write a book on the legend, MS Dhoni. It's a different piece of literature which subtles the difference between luck and hardwork. It's an eye opener for people who say ' DHONI IS LUCKY '.
It's not the biography of MS Dhoni. It tells readers about a few aspects and traits of Dhoni's life which made Dhoni ' THE DHONI '. In most of the books, only principles were written. But the book ' Think and win like Dhoni ' is an exception because it is a combination of important principles and their role in pratical life.
This book is divided into five sections which explains five traits of MS Dhoni ie Right attitude, Goals, Follow the Process, A peaceful walk Home and To be the chosen leader.
Who should read this book? ✔ The People who are going through tough times. ✔ The People who are doubting their abilities. ✔ The People who are looking for an inspiration. ✔ The people who want to see the positive side of life.
And I know we all come under any one of the above categories.
And especially for Dhoni's Fans. Go for it MSDIANS and you will not feel bored. U will know more about MS Dhoni on field and off field. It's a quick read and it will be worth reading.
I am asking you people to " TRY TOH KARO "
THE BEST LINE : Sometimes Oppourtunities will not knock. You will have to create them.
And there are many more.
The book has some grammatical errors and unpolished sentences, but if you value the message shared by the author, such things can be ignored.
Simple worded, easy to understand and gives a straight interpretation. It is an eye opener for anyone who thinks "Dhoni is Lucky" he developed luck around him by hardwork by is avid experience and intuition based on his past. Ups & Downs are very common in human life, that to for sportstar. Clearly shows how he keeps his Mind equanimous at all situation series to series, match to match, ball to ball. Because he is the captain cool. I am glad that I have hated him so much during his early days and started to research about him. I'm convinced his an incredible human, captain, leader etc., With his mind he can do anything. It is never his luck. It is his serious hardwork.
I am surprised the book has so many positive ratings and reviews. The analysis is shallow and the writing is immature. It seems more like a fan account than an analysis of Dhoni's skills. You cannot just say "Researches have found"..., "Experts say"... "Business schools are studying"... Without quoting the research/study/expert/business school. There will be no credibility. There's nothing new in this book. The book claims you can learn from Dhoni's skills and go far in your life. There can be no bigger exaggeration than that. Read it only if you're a big Dhoni fan.
Short and to the point. This is not a biography. Instead it takes a few aspects and habits out of Dhoni's life which made Dhoni THE DHONI. There are certain things in life which you think you know but really don't. The author has taken out those things from Dhoni's life and highlighted how everyone can use them in their own.
A word of caution to the grammar Nazis. The book is poorly edited and has unpolished sentences at many places. But if you value the message shared, such things can be ignored.
From being a sceptic of Dhoni to being a fan of his, this book felt like a confirmation of what i knew. A pleasing read into the mind of one of India's best sportsperson.
Started developing my reading habit after reading this awesome book which taught me how to live in the present. The author takes us inside the mind of MS Dhoni and his simple, monk like perspective is a game changer and a quality which everyone must install in their daily lives.
Quick read. This book contains Dhoni's 5 most important traits. The author studied Dhoni for 3 years and then wrote this book. You can follow this five traits in your day to day life.By reading this book you will get know how by using these 5 principles Dhoni achieved so much on the field. He also uses these principles off the field also.It has become his second nature by continuously practicing these principles. My personal favorite is "Live in the moment".You all know these principles because they are very common. You have heard them or read them in books but you did not pay heed to them.To see improvement in your life you have to follow them continuously.By just reading self-help books you won't improve your life but by applying the principles, contains in those books, in your life, you will improve your life.So go ahead read this book and apply the principles in your life.As the author says "try to Karo"(try it once).

"Think and Win Like Dhoni" is not any routine typical biography. It delves into the essence of Dhoni's character, shedding light on the fine line between luck and hard work. It's truly an eye-opener for those who underestimate Dhoni's success as mere luck.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your copy of "Think and Win Like Dhoni" and embark on a journey of inspiration and self-discovery.
India is a country where melodrama rules. Judgemental people are everywhere - they tell you how to do your job, whom to marry and which God to believe in. You are judged based on your salary, social status, looks & other criteria. When it comes to Cricket, every Indian is an expert. All these reasons make MSD intriguing because leading the Cricket Team of a country like this is like being in a pressure cooker 24*7. But he managed to bring zen to a loud country!
This book doesn't really do justice to this phenomenon. I wish it delved deeper into his mind - instead, it has quite an amauterish approach to understanding what goes on in MSD's mind.
If you happen to be a Cricket fan like me, you might end up reading it, despite knowing it won't be great. That's because there is a dearth of books on sports in India.
One of the best book i have perused; the excursion of Captain cool was portrayed flawlessly and it will help many individuals to chip away at their fantasies and have confidence in their fantasies. Additionally the book has likewise helped a ton to comprehend about the achievement accomplished by MSD and how he deals with his cool in each circumstance.
This book ought to be perused by each person who needs to discover arrangement in regards to how to adjust the life and how you can accomplish your fantasies. Additionally it sprinkles the data how to handle the disappointment and how to acknowledge feedback like Captain Cool.
You rock Sfuti Sahare for this superb experience and persuading me.
If you are into cricket and a have followed / are a fan of MSD then you must be familiar with a lot of concepts discussed in this book. MSD has used a lot of these phrases and concepts in interviews and post match press conferences. It is a good read for those who are unfamiliar with those concepts.
I just wish the book had better literature. There are quite a few grammatical errors in the book and at times it fails to maintain the flow and therefore the reader's interest. There are several parts where the author tends to get repititive especially towards the later half of the book.
In conclusion good material / concepts but average read overall due to poor literature.
Poorly written. Till much hope. Why is author becoming moral police? 4 attributes? Plz get to the point straight.. book would have sold (to author's surprise) coz of cricket and name of Dhoni..
Don't run around the bush. Just by writing extracts from Dhoni movie itself would have got some meaning full content.
Readers can't be expected to do the filter.. I almost reached half of the book yet I'm seeing "how to read this book" suggestion 🤦🏻♂️
Sorry for bad review, but it's just a part of my frustration while reading this book..
I read this book with high expectations. Actually it met 60% of my expectation. Nice book to read. What I found great in this book is that it is not about cricket and dhoni's cricket skills. It's all about your mental potential. Which is well explained through small town boy effort of not giving up, continuous practice, making and follow process etc.
It is almost like any other self help book. Author has taken Dhoni’s quotes out of interviews and inferred very superficial meanings. It’s like you start with a dot and somehow end with a galaxy. More research or probably more direct study was needed before making any claims about methods suggested in the book.
If u want to be successful in life, give this book a try and implement an iota of what has been said. Beautiful book about dhoni and how he battles out what life throws at him. A must read...#Do it the dhoni way Cheers! Happy reading....
A very fresh and unique take on the power of mind and how to achieve your goals. Sports people do it the best and Dhoni does it in a way that has the world sit up and take a look. This book bridges his mind with the readers.
