What a good time I had reading this story! Even with the couple taking the WHOLE darn book to get together and the fade to black sex scene that I was highly anticipating (hint, hint want a bit more on the couple). The journey to their hea is so damn good that I can’t help but slap a 5 Star rating on this story. The chemistry, the banter, the writing, all those laugh out loud scenes all contributed to making this a feel good fun read.

“Can a man and a woman really be friends without complications?”

description

Divorcee Baylee Morgan leaves her hometown in North Carolina for a penthouse condo in Santa Monica California. Taking only her dog Sport from her failed marriage she meets a sexy stranger walking his dog and accidentally gives him a bloody nose. This awkward encounter leads to a morning ritual of dog walking and a game of coffee and a question. Baylee is very taken with Sebby but when they meet outside of the park Sebby’s relationship status is revealed…

”Whoa, Baylee,” he soothed, his voice softening as his brow furrowed slightly. “I meant what I said. I genuinely enjoy hanging out with you, but I never led you on to think that I was interested in you as anything other than a friend who gave me a bloody nose one morning.”

description

The sexy Sebastian Powers is a big time movie producer and has a beautiful girl friend in New York but sadly just wants a friendship with Baylee. Sebby sets out to prove Baylee wrong about men and woman being friends and these two grew so very close as she tries dating in California. These dates were hilarious (Mr. Possibly Gay, Doctor McDreamy and Mr. Banana Hammock-that scene with Bananarama playing I had actual tears of laughter in my eyes) as the two grow closer and closer as he not only becomes a great friend to her but he helps her mark the last remaining items on a bucket list her mother had made before she was born.

I was DYING throughout the story while hoping and praying along with Baylee that Sebby would crack and want more.

”I wished he would declare his love for me and tell me he was leaving Mercedes to follow his heart.”

Baylee makes a great group of friends in her condo along with Sebby and their Karaoke Pictionary nights were a blast. The story was such fun while I couldn’t take the tension in others.

description

Sebby’s slow to make a move drove me INSANE and I would have loved his pov and I would love if the author wrote a bit more about this couple doesn’t have to be long. Nevertheless, the story was well written and I personally found the author’s sense of humor to be hilarious which goes to this story being one good read!

Oh my…this one turned out to be so much better than I had expected. 'The Other Side of Someday' was my first read by this author and I'm pretty sure it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed her write of style and her storytelling and I’m so looking forward to read her upcoming books. This little gem was so awesome, so entertaining and overall a great blend of humor and sweetness. A feel good story, 'The Other Side of Someday' tells the adventure of a young single divorcee, Baylee.

“I finally had the opportunity to make my dreams a reality, and what better place to do that than somewhere with sun, sand, and surfers?”

After she finds out her husband is cheating on her, Baylee desperately needs and wants a fresh start. She moves from New Carolina to California eager to start her new adventure. She doesn’t have a job, family or friends in California, but she’s looking forward to meet new people and find out who she is without her ex. Her only friend is her dog, Sport with whom one day she meets a sexy stranger, Sebastian, ‘Sebby’ walking his own dog. Baylee and Sebby become friends very fast, agreeing practically without the words to meet every morning for coffee, to walk their dogs and to get to know each other better. Slowly, they get to know each other better and Baylee realizes she wants something more with the man who in such a short amount of time became a fix in her life.

Sebby is a movie producer and it happens to be engage in a relationship…a long distance relationship with a smart and beautiful woman who lives alone…for now...in New York. If at first Baylee seems to want something more with Sebby, as time passes she starts to wonder if a man and a woman can really be JUST friends. Baylee and Sebby’s tentative friendship becomes a “real” friendship, but things start to change at some point between these two when both of them start to feel for the other something more…

“There was something about this moment — the darkness, the light wind in the air, the romance of the LA city lights twinkling below me — that made me want to turn around and feel Sebby’s lips on mine. I had to keep reminding myself that we were simply friends, that he was so incredibly off limits.”

I really enjoyed this one! It was sweet, it was romantic and it made me smile, grin and laugh like a lunatic. While the premise is nothing new, the story was pretty addictive, especially after Sebby’s character was introduced. I just wanted to know how and when everything will change between these two characters. The story was entertaining not only because of the romantic aspect, but also because of the delightful banter between these two main characters and because of the multitude of the funny situations our heroine experiences as the story unfolds.

Baylee was a fun and endearing heroine and I have to say I really enjoyed her character development. I loved how she had the strength to start a new life and how gradually she found out who she is and what she wants to do with her life. Sebby was really great with and for our heroine. Sexy and charismatic, sweet and attentive, he was the perfect man Baylee needed in her life, friend and more.

I really enjoyed the slow burn relationship between these two and I loved their palpable chemistry. They complemented each other perfectly from the very beginning which I truly loved.

“I want to show you how to live… How to laugh… How to love…and I’m not talking about what you’ve been led to believe love is. I’m talking about how to really love someone.”

I have to mention Baylee and Sebby’s fantastic group of friends. They were fun and engaging and I would love to read their own stories.

What I didn’t like too much was the lack of steam. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t need some sexy steamy scenes to fully enjoy a story, but I truly believe this story would have been much better is the steam would have been higher.

Overall, a fantastic, entertaining read!

“In that one kiss, I finally felt what I had been yearning to feel for years…
I felt magic.”

T.K Leigh has me totally smitten and smiling big in her newest contemporary romance, The Other Side of Someday. If you thought Ms. Leigh could only write emotional, dark, and suspenseful stories then think again because Ms. Leigh will surprise readers big time as she will have you laughing, smiling, giggling and loving big time.

The Other Side of Someday is your feel good book. Yes, this book will have you hearts fluttering with that warm fuzzy feeling. So can a young single divorcee find love and Mr. Right in the sea of Mr. Wrongs? Well, yes if you finally realize that Mr. Right might be the boy next door.

As you can imagine, I really don’t want to spoil anything about the story since this is such a fun, light, and heartfelt romance that needs to be read and enjoy. I absolutely adore this book in the aspect that it is not only a friends to lovers story but also a story about self-discovery. So if you love a story that is downright entertaining, funny, sweet, and has all the feels then I highly urge you to get swept up away with Baylee and Sebby. Thank you Ms. Leigh for taking us to the other side!!!

Baylee is starting over, newly divorced from a cheating scumbag she relocates and begins her new life. New friends, a bucket list of her mothers, a dream of writing a novel and a handsome neighbour that when they first met she gives a bloody nose...not in anger though. This book was hilarious at times and had me in tears of laughter as well as a few of sadness. I became so invested in Baylee and Sebby and I was willing them from the very start but TK Leigh makes us wait. This was a believable and heart warming account where friendship was made first and foremost before those lines began to blur. But sometimes...just sometimes, you know when you have met the one...but will these two see it? I desperately wanted more once I had finished, I hope TK Leigh revisits this couple because I wasn't ready for their story to end. (full review to come)

This is one of those times that while reading the book, I wondered if somehow I was reading a different one than everyone else. It has hardly any low ratings and yet, I couldn't stand it.

I mean, it's a cute story. The bones of the book, the overall reaching plot...her moving to LA, deciding to full fill her mom's bucket list to find her own inspiration, the love story, none of that was that bad. Maybe not sparkling but...that alone would have been a decent 3 star read for me. That was what I was actually thinking for the start of the book.

But then...

How this whole book handled gay people...and the portrayal of her being totally thrown off by the whole idea. And how many times she had to think she didn't have a problem with them? I find it hard to believe that a grown adult would be that thrown by gay people in every day life anymore, even if from a small town simply from seeing them on movies and tv shows. But, no, she was entirely wowed by the whole concept it seemed.

And the whole thing with...man, I even forget the guy's name, and meeting him in yoga and how that played out was just...awkward. And painful to read and cringe worthy. And dated.

And then...the "McDreamy" guy. Okay, maybe I just like my guys a little more...gentlemanly? But a complete stranger grabbing you to kiss you to prove he's straight, not okay. Not sexy. Just creepy and kind of rapey.

Also cancelling the date because he was a gynecologist? Is she 15???? That whole line about not knowing the difference between him fingering her and being examined made me worry about how her ex-husband had been fingering her because there's a pretty clear difference between the two.

And Sebby (which is the worst name I have ever read for a romantic male lead) dropping from major Hollywood movies down to this dream of producing for the NFL? Why in the world would he have ever fought to get to where he was in Hollywood if he didn't even want to work in movies? That makes no sense at all, not with how much work it would take to get to that level.

Honestly, this book could have been good but there were so many tiny tiny things in it that just...ugh, ugh, ugh. Over and over again. How does it have so many stars??

My 1st book by this author and it won't be my last. I had a beautiful fun time with this story. With these characters, which we have so many to love. Baylee's journey!!! OMG. Fabulous. I'm so extremely happy for her.
This was romance/womans fiction and I LOVED it.

2.5 Stars!

And....another one bites the dust.

It actually started off pretty good. I enjoyed the build-up and there was some good humor. But then I just got annoyed with the main characters and how stupid they were being.

And then what started out as "humor" and banter just made me roll my eyes.

And then, as if it was even possible, the main characters became even more stupid at the end. At that point I just didn't really care if they ended up together.

I did finish. But I started skimming around 50-60%.

I absolutely adored this book. It was hilarious and romantic all mixed into one. Baylee escapes to California to start her life over after her husband rips the carpet out from under her. By freak accident she meets Sebby. The two hit it off right away and Sebby convinces her back men and women can be friends with no romantic feelings.

The whole story is just one funny incident after another. Baylee decides to start dating again and the results are not what she expects. All along Sebby is by her side being her supportive friend, while silently laughing at her too.

I love romance books that are also funny. The author has an amazing sense of humor in her writing and it translate into an fantastic book. I would recommend this book for everyone to read.

Wow I can say I was 100% pleasantly surprised with this book.
It was just right in everything that author wanted to say with the plot line and with the characters.
I don't have one thing bad to say about it.

“Most importantly, may you love. Love hard and without abandon. Love with no regrets. Love like there’s no tomorrow. For so many people, there isn’t a tomorrow. Don’t take it for granted.”

This book has relatable characters, just enough humor and much needed emotion to connect with the story.

It makes you think. It really has great message. This is more then finding love after divorce..taking chances with someone new..moving to the new town..

This book started out great but then I had to put this on hold for another book that I'm dying to read. Unfortunately, when I picked from where I ended, my interest for this book vanish.

I kept dozing off for three consecutive days. Couldn't even finish the whole chapter. That's when I decided to just drop this book.

I really cannot say whether this book was really dull or was it because I stopped reading that's why I lost my drive to continue. I really don't know. So please don't let my review stop you from reading this.

Sometimes you’re blind to everything around you so you need someone else to act as your glasses.

Welcome to the Other Side.

I’m a huge fan of T.K. Leigh and I love her style. This book, though a bit different because of the humor in it, is exactly what I needed right now. It’s fun and light, gives hope when I needed it and is full of laughs. Even though it deals with real life issues, I see Baylee Grace deal with them in a similar style to me and my friends. I recognize us. The way we love and support each other, just as the characters in this story do. This story provided a real life review of the type of life I want.

Sebby is the guy we all dream of. Hot, hunky, funny, kind and caring. He’s good looking, but not vain. He has such a genuine nature about him that made it easy to fall for him. With Baylee’s fun, easy-going outlook on her situation and life, I wanted to be her. I wanted everything about her life.

This book gave me the feels. The ups and the downs. The love that radiates from the pages. My heart beat so fast and I even cried a bit. I could vividly see all of the places she described.

Thank you, Ms. Leigh, for a light and bright picture of The Other Side of Someday, which includes hope, love, friends and everything else we dream of! ~ Heather, 4.5 stars

~~~
The Other Side of Someday is a different book from T.K. Leigh. It was light, funny, sweet, romantic, and I absolutely enjoyed every single minute I spent reading it!
“Can a man and woman really be friends without complications?”
That is the question that both Sebby and Baylee have to live with, and ask themselves on a daily basis after a hilarious and embarrassing first meeting.
Baylee moves to L.A. from North Carolina to start her life over after her marriage ended. She meets Sebby her first day and the two form an instant friendship. Together, they work on completing adventures and helping Baylee live again.
Their entire story was fun. And humorous.
“I’ll never be able to look at you again without seeing your balls, Sebby. Just thought you should know that.”
It was full of sexual tension.
“I couldn’t control the way my body reacted to him. He had a magnetic pull on me, making me want to forget everything for a minute…that things were complicated, that we were neighbors…That he had a girlfriend.”
It was full of love.
“…may you love. Love hard and without abandon. Love with no regrets. Love like there’s no tomorrow.”
I adored the entire cast of characters. I loved the condo crew, particularly Sophia and Marcel. I enjoyed Baylee’s disaster dates. Uncle Monty was my favorite! The way Baylee’s mother was incorporated made me so happy (and, at times, sad)! This proved that Ms. Leigh can write anything that she puts her mind to, and I look forward to many more books from her. ~ Tiffany, 4 stars
"Someday begins today"
This is my first book by T.K. Leigh and I'm definitely not disappointed! In her acknowledgements she said this was her first romantic comedy. Well let me tell you that you could not tell this was her first! The Other Side of Someday is exactly the type of book I needed to read! Not only is it funny but it's not an insta love book either.
TOSoS is told straight from Baylee's pov. She's recently going through a divorce from a prick and needs a change of scenery. I love Baylee's character. Not only is she strong but she just has an air of happiness coming from her even through the pages of the book. She's been through some hurdles and overcame them with a strength that I only wished I had.
I also love Sebby. Yes Sebby, short for Sebastian. You'll grow to love his nickname like I did. ;) He's tall, dark and handsome. Need I say more? He's also sweet and not your typical book boyfriend. He's not all alpha male and controlling. Don't get me wrong I love those too but Sebby was a nice change. He's perfect for Baylee or you would think so.
"Regret can be a bitch"
Their friendship started out as a nosebleed and ended with one. Lol I love the banter between the two. I was laughing so much throughout this book that my 5 yr old daughter started questioning me wanting me to read to her what I was laughing about. Um banana hammock? No I don't think so!
"Love hard and without abandon. Love with no regrets. Love like there's no tomorrow. For so many people, there isn't a tomorrow. Don't take it for granted."
If you need something different, that's not an insta love and is extremely funny and a little emotional but not much then you have to read The Other Side of Someday! T.K. Leigh's writing was phenomenal and I look forward to reading more of her books!
This guy is annoying me and I'm only at 34%....
Yes, men and women can be friends, but there's a big difference between friendship and whatever he's doing with her...
Let's recap, shall we? How about we look at his actions by his girlfriend's POV...
"I have a boyfriend and he became friends with his new neighbor"... Ok, good for him!
"He sees her every morning and buys her coffee"... Well, that’s strange...
"When he’s away, they text every day, over inside jokes"... Nope, doesn’t look good...
"He watches a movie with her, at his apartment, over a glass of wine, Just the two of them"... Yep, that's a hell, no!
"He stares at her too long, touches her a lot, and is so invested in her life that he offers to help her with something very personal, like finishing he mother’s bucket list (he doesn’t have time for much besides work, but he makes time for this stranger that he just met)"
I’m sorry but if he tells me he has no idea what’s going on here and that he believes they are JUST friends, he’s either really stupid or playing dumb... Since he doesn’t seem that oblivious I believe he’s playing.
Oh, did I mention she has seen him naked? Yep, he tells her to go to his house and when she gets there he’s naked (and not very afraid, since he doesn’t even bother to cover up)!
He says it’s an accident, but, let’s be honest, how oblivious can a person be until it's not cute anymore?!?!
I don't know... this characters annoyed me a lot...
TK Leigh has written an amazingly entertaining book in The Other Side Of Someday. This is a friend to maybe lovers book. Baylee finds her hubby with her supposedly best friend. Now she leaves him, takes his/their dog and leaves small town NC for Malibu in Cali. A penthouse apartment soon has her making an eclectic group of amazing friends. She also meets and bloodies, Sebby, who becomes a dear friend, a best friend, but he has a girlfriend in NY and sets out to show her that men and women can be friends.
Baylee found a bucket list her mother never got to finish and with his help start to do mark off items. Also, she starts dating cause well they are friends, and he has a girlfriend. Her choice in men in this book will have you laughing out loud, LITERALLY.
This is a s-l-o-o-o-o-o-o-w build till Sebby is questioning his feelings for not only his girlfriend in NY but his feelings for Baylee. When he decides he may be to late though....
I love TK Leigh and her writing style. This is a 5-star read! (4.75) but you get the full 5 LOL
“Someday begins today."
The Other Side of Someday is the first book I have read by T.K. Leigh and I sm so shocked as to why I have not read her books sooner because this book was truly fantastic. It was funny and light and for some strange reason it taught me a few things about life and love.
Baylee decides to pack her bags and heads straight to California after divorcing her prick of a cheating husband. She meets a man who later becomes her neighbour who brings her joy and later begins a journey of self discovery for Baylee. I totally loved this story. It was sweet and it brought so much joy and happiness to me. I loved that there was more plot than sex scenes. I do love a sex scene but for this book I actually did not care about the hot scenes. I cared more about the story, dialogue and characters.
The writing was impeccable. T. K. Leigh is very talented and with her writing, she brought this story to life. I loved that there was so much humour in this story. I could not stop laughing at all and I truly enjoyed. This book truly brought happiness and even made my day so much brighter and trust me you will need a book like this. What made me fall in love more was that it taught me about having no regrets, seizing the moment and also discovering your true self and I was in awe. Yes, it is fiction but it was significant to me.
The characters were so infectious and just awesome to read about. Baylee was someone I loved as a character. I loved how became strong and independent in her life. I loved that she kept finding who she was as a person. There was so much development from her that I loved. I also loved Sebastian. So caring and always there for Baylee, he made a perfect hero. They both had chemistry which was so believable and loved it was not instalove but a love that starts from friendship which made it belivabke. Plus their banter made it more enjoyable.
Overally, The Other Side of Someday was a honest and truthful love story that had me swoon and love.
Hell, Will was screwing Julie the duration of our relationship anyway.
Will was calculated. He knew enough that if he charmed Camille, she would do her best to convince me to give him a chance.
When I walked in on Will banging Julie, it felt like a burden had been lifted off my shoulders, despite how hurt I was.
“And what about this ‘Ice Queen’, as Marcel called her? Is she your girlfriend?” I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
“Yes, she is,” he said.
when God closed a door, he opened a window.
“Mercedes doesn’t even know how to drive.” I tilted my head at him, pressing my lips together. “My girlfriend,” he explained,
“It’s hard to say. Sometimes, I wish Mom could see the side of Mercedes I fell in love with. Other times, I wish I could see the side of Mercedes I fell in love with.”
The heroine was too naive for words. Failed attempts because she didn't know the guy was gay? because the other one was a gyno? is she 12?
There was no real climax, just a hint of Mercedes coming out in PJs and calling her the wrong name, no peaking at what happened to the ex husband. Meh, had potential, but she didn't even struggle... she was rich without even trying!
Must be nice.
Yeah, that kind of book... a lot of monologues and color me surprised, APPARENTLY, I'm not the giggling Rom-Com kinda girl.
As I said, a lot of inner girly monologues, he had a girlfriend, she had sunshine up at her a** and I'm OUT!
Arrivederci!
Not sure why but I just couldn't get into this one. It was just too nice!!!! Nothing really happened. It needed a bit more steam or drama or a bit of both.
DNF. The main characters were so awful I couldn’t continue. They make fun of people with dementia, gay people, small towns.
In addition to the MMC being a total dickweed and leading the FMC on for a while. He keeps kind of hitting on her but then INSISTS that they be just friends because he’s got a girlfriend in New York. It’s terrible. He basically treats her like shit while she gazes at him dreamily. No thanks. Returned for refund!
