It's LIVE!!!

Your life can change in the blink of an eye. One moment you're happy, living your life to the fullest. The next you're a victim, scared you're going crazy. Was your savior real? Or just a figment of your imagination that you created while scared? If he is real where did he go, and how can you find him?

My reaction to this book:

The blurb gives almost nothing away about what is going to happen once you start this book. And going into this blind was probably the best decision, so I encourage anyone that hasn't read other reviews to hold off. Don't let yourself get spoiled about this plot because the true genius of this writing will be ruined if you know what's going to happen.

Not wanting to give anything away also makes this review really hard, so I'm keeping it short. What I will tell you though, is that Bella Jewel created this story where so much is happening that you can't stop reading. The suspense kept me captivated, but more than that it had me questioning my own sanity. Every time I thought I knew what was happening I would then change my mind and decide I was wrong, only to go back to my original theory a few chapters later. Truly, this book will make you question everything.

The bottom line is, if you want a good book you need to read this. The blurb is super intriguing, and only gives a brief hint at what this book will bring, but I hope it's enough for you to read it. And again, go in spoiler free if you can. Pick up this book, trust Bella Jewel as an author, and give it a go.

I'm going to admit that I was scared to read this book because I didn't know what I was getting into. From reading the blurb, I thought to myself that this was going to be some crazy sh*t and it was going to leave me guessing until the very end.

But you know what? This turned out to be so much MORE! I literally inhaled this book and I couldn't put it down. That's what I love when I read a story and that feeling you get when you're wrapped up in these characters. You dread having to leave them if only for a moment.

Lucy finally has everything that she's ever wanted. A husband that worships her, a good job and loving parents. What more can a girl ask for right? But one horrible day will completely obliterate everything she felt was sacred and safe and the person that she was, will no longer be relevant. After surviving that tragedy and trying to reach out to the person that saved her, Lucy's family begins to worry about her mental health.

Did she imagine the stranger that helped her or is this something bigger that was out of her league?

Due to the nature of this story, I have no choice but to be very vague because I really don't want to spoil it for anyone and this is something that you just have to go in blindly and experience everything. There were some characters that I absolutely loathed and wished that they would get lost at sea! And there were some that completely stole my heart like a thief in the night.

I loved that this was a different story from Ms.Jewels previous books and it's by far my favorite one. So don't question about whether if this is the book for you, just read it!! If you love bad ass Alpha Males, READ.IT. Scorching scenes that make you say ERMAGAWD while your husband is giving you the side eye? READ.IT!

My heart goes out to Lucy so much in this book at the beginning of the book she is soft gentle an wouldnt say a thing to any one an then at the end she us this super strong sassy woman how would stand up to anyone who make her life hard but the thing I found hard was the people she luvd didn't believe her an made her out to b crazy no one deserves that I just wanted to hug her al the time

TITLE: Fleeting Moments
AUTHOR: Bella Jewel
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
CHAPTERS: 31
RELEASE DATE: July 19th 2016

MY RATING: 4 STARS

A fast paced gripping tale of survival, love, and strength.

FLEETING MOMENTS: This kicks us off in the 'Prologue" happily in love, life is good, celebrating their wedding anniversary of three years, tickets to a football game, an unborn baby on the way, life doesn't get any better than this..

Life was good until it wasn't!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Life is a series of fleeting moments
Moments that pass you by-sometimes without recognition
We let moments define us and other times we
let them destroy us.

As an anniversary gift Gerald her lawyer husband has two tickets to the football, until the very last minute he's called in to work to cover a case that's just landed in his lap.

Lucy decides to go alone.

The game is in full swing, the crowd is behind their teams cheering, this is where it all goes to hell, I had goosebumps reading this.

One single moment changes everything
In one breath, you can have it all
A split-second later, it can all disappear
Vanished forever.

Loud gunshots ring out in the stadium

Many guns from all quarters are trained on all the people just in the wrong place at the wrong time, rooting for their team, faceless men wearing masks, all dressed in white from head to foot, chaos ensues, gunshots, screams, death, blood, terrified, horror, scared, alone, wishing her husband was beside her.

I had it all
Then in a cruel twist of fate, it was taken from me
A beautiful life gone in a flash.

In a fleeting moment Lucy's life as she knew it changes in the blink of an eye

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Every piece of our life is made up of moments
Moments are made up of friendship, love, betrayal,
happiness, marriage, children and death.

A handsome stranger that sat beside Lucy during the game became her rock, became her saviour, became her sanity when all else was shrouded in insanity.

But he was there
He was there to pick me up when I fell
To protect me
My savior. My rock.

I was riveted to my ipad, this could've gone a lot darker than it did but man I was hooked as soon as I started reading all the gritty goodness..

And like everything else, he just disappeared
As if he never existed
I have to find him
I need to find him
He has to know that he saved me

The only reason why this didn't get my full 5 star rating is that I felt like it was rushed and just when it felt like it was going to go very dark it was reined in, but it still offered that delicious grittiness that most of us crave.

Average score: 1/5

Best Line: “I’m not crazy. I’m not.” – you totally are

Worst Line: "“I love you, Lucy.” “And I love you.” Little did I know that was the last time he’d ever speak those words again. "– actually he does say the words again, about 55 pages later

Personal Review:
What a fucking messed up so-called romance – fucking waste of my time

Random Ramblings
•Having feelings for another guy whilst married is not something I like in romances
•I felt for what happened to her but I wanted her to be stronger
•I agree with her family – she was obsessed with Hunter and it was destroying her marriage
•Ok, the h is really starting to annoy me – she loves running away as soon as she doesn’t get her own way
•I don’t understand why she keeps pursuing him – she said she wanted to make sure he was real and he said he was so why won’t she let it go?????
•I so desperately wanted to slap her
•How fucking dare she call her husband a ‘Jerk’!!
•It cracked me up that she thought her sister-in-law was delusional after accusing her of having an affair (which she did have) – uh excuse me but Lucy needs to go look into a mirror and she will see who the delusional one is
•Why is her husband in the wrong for accusing her of moving on so soon after claiming to be in love with him?? She is cheating on her husband and she keeps denying it…

•Poor Gerard who was made to apologise to her when he did nothing wrong
•And to top it all off, the bitch of a h left the young girl behind knowing she would be punished and raped

description

"Just like always. he comes in moments. Fleeting ones."

This is the 20th book I read by Bella Jewel. She is an author whose books I always one-click. The first couple of chapters I was loving it and I was expecting this book to be an emotional read. However I was pretty disappointed the direction the author took with this book.

The blurb is pretty vague so I don't want to spoil anything. I will try to keep my review general. This book focuses on Lucy who goes through a pretty traumatic incident and is kind of messed up about it. She was saved by this mysterious stranger and he just disappears on her. She gets really obsessed with finding him which for me was a bit too much. She annoyed me with her actions and bipolar attitude. She was acting very irration and then goes around blaming other people of acting a certain way. Which in my opinion was just crazy. She was pushing people away and her behavior had me rolling my eyes and sometimes didn't make sense to me.

I don't mind insta-love but found it to be inappropriate in this situation. It just didn't come across as real to me. After 40% I was ready to give up and DNF this book, however the next day I decided to give it another try. But it just didn't get better. I couldn't connect with the characters and I didn't feel a connection between them either.

I did like the plot, but it just wasn't executed well. I liked the main male character and he was a big reason why I gave this book another chance. I really did try to like it but unfortunately I couldn't. You maybe noticed that I almost NEVER rate a book 1 or 2 stars, that is because I never finish a book I can't get into.

Title: Fleeting Moments
Author: Bella Jewel
Category: Romance, Drama
Series or Standalone: Standalone
POV: Heroine's POV
Plot: 4
Characters:3.5
Scorching Level: 4
HEA: Not telling

This was quite a different book from Bella Jewel.
Lucy is married to Gerard and she is expecting her first child. One day will change everything.
Amongst the chaos, she will meet a man, a mysterious man, that will bring her world and her marriag upside down.
Hunting for a glimpse of the man who saved her, Lucy will put everything at risk to know his identity. Trying to prove that she isn't insane will threaten her already shaky relationship with her husband.
The author has created a very intricate plotline with this one. It was elements of various themes and I think that is where the book lost me a bit. I won't mention the themes but I can say that the premise was very promising and it could have been a solid 5 star read for me if the author hadn't tried to juggle so many things at once.
My favorite character was our mysterious Hunter, for sure. He moved like a ghost and at first we never trully knew if he was real or if he only just existed in Lucy's imagination.

"Life is a lie, Lucy girl.
Deal with it."

I had an issue with Lucy and how she handled her marriage with Gerard, but I can understand both their views. Still, it made for interesting twists and turns.
Overall, I enjoyed the ride and I would recommend it.

There was a time I devoured everything Bella Jewel wrote, loving the stories and characters. It's been the last few books my love for her writing wasn't enough to keep me invested in the stories. I thought "Fleeting Moments" might turn this trend around. The blurb sounded promising. I expected something new, something fresh. An original story with unique characters. And the beginning seemed to keep the promise. But now at 40% I can't say that's the case anymore.

Maybe her stories and I grew apart like high school friends - both going in different directions. That's possible.
There were just too many things about this book that I couldn't overlook and keep going and so I DNF at 40%.
The biggest issue I have is the heroine and this has been the case for the last few books as well.
Lucy lacks any kind of strength. I don't mean that she's emotional and vulnerable. That would be fine. No, she defines herself through the men in her life. She has no spine, no self-esteem. She's whiny, selfish and irritating beyond words. I wonder how Hunter doesn't regret saving her. Cause honestly, I would.
Her inner monologue has the depth of a rain puddle. Her attitude is borderline disgusting. Considering how much she professes her love to her husband and baby, she really doesn't walk the talk and just gives up without a second though. A few weeks of not even trying and then she has the audacity to be hurt by her husband's actions.
If I would've shaken my head any harder at her action, I would have a concussion now.
Not too mention she's stupid. I mean, how badly do your synapses have to be misfiring to ignore a very dangerous situation and keep pushing and pushing only to satisfy your obsession with a guy you've known for a few hours.
For me, she's the worst heroine I've encountered this year.
I really don't click with that kind of heroine as you might've guessed - no matter how adorable Jewel tries to make her with her blond hair, her dimple and her tiny everything (tiny body, tiny arm, tiny hand - yeah, I got it. She's small.)
And as usually, all the other characters (who are good, not the baddies), are beautiful, stunning and gorgeous. I can't help but roll my eyes at that.

I miss the depth the first Bella Jewel books had. I miss heroines who could fall in love but still be strong and stand on their own.

My heart hurts but I think it's time for me to end my relationship with Bella Jewel's books.

2 the-heroine-drives-me-up-the-wall stars.

"He makes me feel okay again. Like the strongest drug, like the most beautiful lie."

Fleeting Moments is a new book by Bella and I just absolutely adored it! It had all I would ask for in a book. Love, angst, heartache, second chances.

It wasn't what I was expecting yet had so much more.

The story is pulled from current headlines that we see today but we never really see behind the scenes from a victims stand point after a tragic event has occurred.

Her family thinks she is crazy. Imagining her hero that helped save her life. This tragic event changes her and at the time you believe everyone but her but then you cannot help but stand behind her from what she saw and what she experienced.

The characters had alot of depth and versatility. The secondary characters being so much to the table too. I would just love to see their story.

I'm really trying to keep this spoiler free do all I'm gonna say is this is a must read!

"Don't leave me again, moment. "
"Moment?", he whispers, at least, I think he does.
"A fleeting moments. You go as fast as you came. Just a moment I can't hang on to. Please let me hang on."
Warm lips graze my forehead and them my world goes dark.

4,5 estrelinhas <3 "Nunca deixe outra pessoa ou ação tirar suas crenças, menina Lucy. Nenhuma ação, homem ou a natureza, vale a pena a perda disso."

UAUUUUU!!!! Que livro foi esse? Me senti em conflito diversas vezes.
Louco, instigante e intenso!!!!
Eu adorei!!!! <3

Sorry DNF at 17%.. like seriously, why WHY WHY?!?!? before anyone should hit my head with a baseball bat for doing this... let me first explain...

SPOILER!!!!

A LOT RANTING AND SPOILERS!!!!

The book.. hmm.. the starting was so full of promises... the hurt, the journey.. let me give you a part of the prologue...

Life is a series of fleeting moments. Moments that pass you by—sometimes without recognition. We let moments define us and other times we let them destroy us. Those moments can be small, or they can be momentous. They can introduce love, belief, and strength, and they can take away passion, self-worth, and happiness. Every piece of our life is made up of moments........

.....I didn’t think there could be anyone else. It just wasn’t possible.
I certainly didn’t think he had it in him to change. To be different to the man I knew so well for so long.

But life is funny like that, isn’t it? It doesn’t give you a choice. It picks your moments and it thrusts them upon you. Sometimes I wonder if those hard moments are sent to test us; other times I wonder if they’re sent to hurt us. After all, why would my perfect marriage be thrown into turmoil without a good reason? Why would the man I’d loved for six years suddenly become empty to me? Why would my life and my moments be twisted until I could no longer recognize them?

Sound great right? Yeah I thought it was awesome. And I was prepared for the painful and romantic journey ever... then I read the first chapter... and everything was fine. We had Lucy who was married to her sweetheart, Gerard for 3 years in their 6-year-relationship. Everything was perfect. Lucy was currently pregnant. They were happy. Gerard was nice. He was actually a perfect husband. They loved each other dearly... then remember the prologue... I just knew that something was gonna happen and that gonna change Gerard... and Voila.. a major event happened.

Gerard surprised his beloved wife with tickets to watch baseball game which he knew Lucy loved. (he was such a good husband) At first, they planned to go together but work came up and Gerard was unable to go. Lucy was disappointed but understood her husband. She decided to go alone anyway. There, she met a mysterious man who sat beside her in her supposedly husband seat. She thought he was attractive... then suddenly there were shooting in the stadium. Let just say everything turned down the hill. In her fear, Lucy cringed on to the guy next to her who gave her his name, Hunter. Lucy was in panic and ended up bleeding. She told Hunter that she thought she was losing her baby. Hunter, finally decided to get her out of there which he did...

By this point one could probably guessed who Lucy was gonna ended up to... and I was not liking it. Lucy was saved but she became hysterical and did not want to leave Hunter... who I guess was probably some secret agent. And this was the part where the book just suddenly turned me off. Lucy lost her baby and was probably traumatized but guessed what... when her family and her HUSBAND, Gerard came rushing to her... all she thought was HUNTER! WHY!?! She wanted to know if he was unharmed. After all, he was kinda her savior... but her behavior toward Gerard was all WRONG... I thought Lucy loved him so much but suddenly she just could not stand him and was being aggressive toward him... I thought with everything that was going on, she should be finding comfort in her husband but NOOOooooo... she just got angry at everything... except Hunter... it was still understandable but why keep focusing on HUNTER!?!!? HELLO!!??! Yeah, HE saved your life... but you knew him like what!??! Four hours??! Come on...

A doctor appears, studying me, and then barking an order to the nurse. I fight against my husband, shoving desperate. They’re lying to me. Why are they lying to me? Tears soak my cheeks as I desperately try to force my way past Gerard.
A needle hits my arm and warmth once again spreads through me.
“Hunter,” I whisper as my body slumps backwards.
Where did you go.

My first thought would probably have been... 'Yeah I'm super devastated with the lost of my baby but I would also be glad that Gerard didn't have to face the danger she survived'... but NO!!!! LUCY was not..

I stare at the television screen, my body numb. A religious group. Five dead. Twenty injured. Was one of those people Hunter? Did he get killed? Is he injured? Is he in this hospital? I lift the remote and turn the television off; I can’t watch it anymore....

And while attacking your husband emotionally seemed fair but why again... was she focusing on HUNTER!!?!???

“I saw the news,” he argues weakly. “I saw it all. I had to wait, I had to watch, I—”
I roll and face him. “Did you see them get shot? Did they show you that on the news? Did you hear their screams? Did you feel their fear? No, you did not. I’m tired. Please leave.”
“Lucy, please don’t shut me out. I know it’s only been two days but it’ll get better, it will . . .”
No, it won’t.
I lost my baby. I’m being treated as if I’m losing my mind.
The man who saved me has fallen off the face of the Earth.
It will not be okay, and I’m tired of hearing it will.

Of course, experiencing it was totally different than watching it or hearing about it... but seriously girl... you should at least sympathized with your husband. I was pretty sure he wasn't worry about himself but YOU YOU YOU!!! You know, how the love of his life and his unborn child was in danger... it would make me lose my mind if I was in his situation.

And Yes... by chapter 4, it was all about HUNTER! Again! Forget Gerard, he did not exist anymore in Lucy's head... WTF!!!!

They won’t leave my head. All those people.
Those gunmen.
My baby.
Him.

So when HUNTER... did actually came back... for LUCY... I gave up... like seriously... I probably knew what was gonna happened. Remember the prologue. I thought Gerard was the one who would change but guess what... It was all LUCY!! She was the one who was gonna change... like could it be any obvious!?!?

Remember this part...

After all, why would my perfect marriage be thrown into turmoil without a good reason? Why would the man I’d loved for six years suddenly become empty to me?

It seemed to me you were the one who was empty first, LUCY! Because from what I read till 17%, I felt no love for Gerard that you should have had at all... and your obsession towards this HUNTER was unreal. He saved your life, yes.. but you had the love of your life... why suddenly not... Gerard did not change. Lucy was the one who was traumatized and changed. I totally did not believe that change. Gerard still cared for Lucy. He didn't even blamed her for the lose of their child. He did not act like he no longer care. Gerard deserved so much better so guess what, I DNF you!!

Perhaps the book got better afterward. Perhaps Gerard did change later on and became an asshole but Lucy was not the character I liked anymore so maybe next time, I would try to finish it. After all, Ms. Bella Jewel writes so many great book. I was sad i was DNF-ing this one.

“Never let another person or action take away your beliefs, Lucy girl. No action, man or nature, is worth the loss of that.”

You MUST read this book. It’s a HARD MUST! I finished this book four days ago, and it’s taken me this long to write a review. However, Fleeting Moments has been anything but. It’s swirled in my head for days and I just can’t let it go.

I feel healed after reading this book. A couple of months ago, I wrote a blog post about Life Moments. I was trying to articulate how I felt and how the little moments sometimes become the largest moments in our lives and we don’t even recognize it until it’s too late. I’m pretty sure Bella Jewel did this topic so much more justice than I’ll ever do.

Love.
Heartbreak.
Heart healing.
Suffering.
Breathing.
Electricity.

All of these things only take a moment. One moment in time and we can feel or recognize these emotions coursing through our bodies. I felt like Fleeting Moments was written for me, to me and maybe even shook something loose in me. It touched a place in my soul. Deep, deep in my soul!

Fleeting Moments is anything but fleeting. The impact is powerful and long lasting for this broken soul. ~ Heather, 5+ stars

~~~
“He comes in moments. Fleeting ones.”
“A fleeting moment. You go as fast as you came. Just a moment I can’t hang on to. Please let me hang on.”
This book was so different from what Bella Jewel has written before, but it was so good! The blurb for this book is pretty vague so I really didn’t know what to expect but once I started reading this book, I didn’t want to stop. It captivates you and doesn’t let you go.
This book was very interesting. Lucy’s journey throughout this book isn’t easy for her, but it has you cheering for her to find herself and what she really wants in life, and who she wants.
Definitely one of the best books Ms. Jewel has written. I look forward to reading more books from her. ~ Leah, 5 stars
~~~

Wow! Ms. Jewel has done it yet again. She sucked me in from the very beginning and I was unable to put this book down until I was at the end.

“Yesterday morning, I woke with happiness; today, I wake with darkness. How quickly life can change.”

And this is by far the truth—our lives are made up of moments and it’s what we do in those moments that form our lives.

“And just like every other moment, that changes in an instant. Moments are funny like that—they hit you when you least expect them, when you’re at your most venerable and unprepared. It’s as if they know they’re sent to test you.”

This story was full of drama and suspense. It was heartbreaking at times, and yet other times were so full of hope. If you are watched The Following, it reminded me quite a bit of that, with lots more heat thrown in.

I finished Fleeting Moments in a matter of hours because I just couldn’t stop until I got to the end. I certainly hope that we get some more stories surrounding the other boys in the cast, especially Tank. Thank you for another amazing book, Ms. Jewel! ~ Tiffany, 4 stars

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Having been a Bella Jewel fan for quite a while now, I jumped on a chance to read a book that at first was untitled and had not a line of description. I knew that she wouldn't fail to “wow” us with a story and have us tripping on our own tongues for the hero and dreaming of being the heroine. Since reading “Fleeting Moments”, Bella Jewel shows us the journey of a survivor from a catastrophic event and the series of moments that leads her on a path that she never could have predicted.

Lucy believes that she knows where her life is leading and has her future planned. That is until a tragic event turns her world upside down and has her questioning her life and leaves others questioning her sanity. Little does she know that in her quest to answer her questions and discover the truth, she will encounter a love that is incendiary and will lead her into a world full of bullets, fanatic believers, barbed wire fences and unfathomable danger. Lucy shows a tenacity, bravery, and strength that rips her from safety, shows her the depths of evil, and takes her to the heights of ecstasy that she could have never imagined.

Bella Jewel delivers a poignant tale of a world full of darkness with slivers of unexpected light. Only Bella could give us something so profound with twists and turns and bouts of heat that consume and titillate. I highly recommend for a story full of passion that will tease your libido and wring a multitude of emotions from your heart. Fleeting Moments is a fictional world with a love that is powerful, vulnerable, and unforgettable.

I'm trying not to laugh from the sheer ridiculousness of this book. It was hilarious and made me feel fed up to be completely honest.

I don't think "Lucy" understands the meaning of secrecy or discretion at all. She practically engineered the situation of pushing her husband away. Biggest self-sympathising git I've seen who single-handedly destroys her marriage of three years to go on a tirade about the "traumatising" event in her life and the man who saved her.

2000 other people were in the arena. Other people lost their family members who were shot by a religious cult member when they tried to escape out of either bravery or plain stupidity. 2000 other people were traumatised and witnessed a life changing event. But you move on. You get over it. You don't force your husband to fester in his guilt when it seems plain that he loves you and made an error allowing you to attend the game alone, which you insisted. Sure, he could have done better, and he valued his work too much but he was her husband and she pushed him. Sometimes work overshadows your chance at a life, but that was a different situation entirely. You don't sabotage your support system. It was disgusting. Her reliance on the man who saved her life should have been a "fleeting moment", a treasured memory but instead the whole insta-love swooped in. Strong people build on, and use events like that to change themselves for the better but here she is whining on about it. Crying in EVERY CHAPTER. Obsessing over a man who saved her, and who she knows obviously has a dangerous job and can't reveal his identity when he visits her in secret. The second he leaves, she yaps to her husband about the man who saved her life, how he's 'real', showing dangerous emotional feelings towards him, how traumatised she is about the event, losing her baby, and how her husband should support her. I'm sorry, but I think he did support you, for weeks in fact, but you screamed at him. PTSD is a tricky issue, and yes Lucy suffered from that. But it escalated because of a single glance at a good-looking nice fella. Hah. And no offence, but although she miscarries, her situation wasn't very different to anyone else's. It was sickening and annoying and went on. I couldn't.

Ugh. She just disgusted me. She liked to feel important. She liked to get involved in delicate situations and jobs, and ruin them, destroy them so other people's lives were in danger. She liked to pass the blame parcel. She purposely messes with things so her mystery man could come after her and make her feel important.

His jaw tics. “Do you want to fucking get hurt?”
“Maybe,” I spit.
“Jesus, Lucy! What the hell is wrong with you?” he yells, so loudly, his big body is twitching with every word. “Screaming like that in the middle of a mall!”
*
“That girl is scared and alone, not to mention all the others who are probably in there. I can’t just stay out of it, Heath. They need help.”
“And that’s what I’m working on. If you interfere, you could make it worse.”
*
“Is he right? Is there going to come a day when I wake up without them?”
He reaches over and takes hold of my hand, engulfing it with his. “Yeah, baby. You just have to hang onto faith.”
“I don’t know if I believe in faith anymore.”

SHUT UP LUCY. Just shut up.

4.5 Unbelievable Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

Lucy Jacobson is living a good life. She finally is pregnant and even if her high powered lawyer husband Gerard spends more time at the office than he does at home, she's not worried. Once the baby comes she knows that will change.

Sometimes it bothers me, but I try to be the best wife I can and just support him. It's his dream, and I'm sure when the baby comes along things will change.
At least I hope they will. I push that thought away and keep my smile.

He has a special day planned for them and is taking her to a baseball game and dinner afterward.

"You're the most amazing husband in the world, Gerard Jacobson."
"Only the best for you, Lucy."

She's wanted to go for a while, but at the last minute he's called into work. So she goes alone. Her life will never be the same.

During the game a gorgeous guy sits next to her, in the seat that was for her husband. Not long after, strange men take over stadium and start killing people. They hold them in there for five hours, but Lucy knows she has to get out. She's starting to feel sick and is worried about the baby. The guy next to her is texting someone and she has a feeling he knows more about what is happening than he is letting on. She's told him her name and he tells her he won't let anything bad happen to her.

"Lucy...my name is ....Hunter. I won't hurt you, but I do want you to trust me, okay? I'm not going to let you get hurt, but you have to do as I say."

She's scared out of her mind, but what choice does she have. He makes good on his promise, he gets her to safety and then he goes back inside. She can't describe it, but she felt a connection for him that she can't shake. But her life changed that day and now things are falling apart.

She can't find any trace of Hunter and no one seems to know who she is talking about. People look at her like she's crazy and her husband thinks she is suffering from delusions and needs help. But she knows what happened and she won't give up looking for him.

"My name is Hunter," I hear whispered, or maybe I imagine it. "It's Heath." I think I'm dreaming, because something grazes across my lips, so soft and so warm.

The more pressure her husband puts on her to get help, the more Lucy pushes back. She feels lost and needs the comfort she feels only when Heath is with her. Things are unraveling and Lucy is looking into things that could get her hurt. But the more she learns the more she wants to find out the truth. She lives for those moments when Heath comes to her.

"A fleeting moment. You can go as fast as you came. Just a moment I can't hang on to. Please let me hang on."

This story is a combination of a love story and a suspense novel. Lucy is a woman faces hard truths about her life and her marriage. The answers aren't always easy to live with, but there can't be any more lies.

"Don't beat yourself up. That was going to happen, now, a month down the track-eventually, I was going to have you, and you know it."

"Life is a series of moments. Moments that pass you by— sometimes without recognition. We let moments define us and other we let them destroy us. Those moments can be small, or they can be momentous. They can introduce love, belief, and strength, and they can take away passion, self-worth, and happiness. Every piece of our lives is made up of moments."

Opening a story with such thought provoking words points to the story being deep with many layers. And that is certainly what Bella Jewel has delivered with Fleeting moments.

My heart breaks for Lucy, the traumas she suffered on that day are beyond anything most people would ever know. Lacking support in the right way doesn't help her move past or find closure on what happened. She is in all sense alone. Thus thrusting her into a new world in her quest to prove she's hot crazy.

"I feel so alone, so helpless, and so damned afraid. I want comfort, but I can't find it. I want to be the girl I was before, but she's gone. I don't honestly know how I'll get through this."

Lucy's inability to stay away from a situation that doesn't involve her irritates me a little. But it's all part and parcel of her mentality after the incident. And the development of the entire story.

Heath is a mystery. A hot intense and sweet mystery. What is he involved in. The second Heath sits down you know he's going to be one of those characters that just draws you in. I'd love to know exactly who he works for.

Now Gerard, the man needs a spine when it comes to his sister and a swift kick up the arse for not supporting Lucy the way he should have. I liked him at the start and totally understood the situation until he became his sisters puppet. He does redeem himself and honestly would love a story for him.

As for the story line. I was hooked from the beginning. The depth and layers of the story were unique and intriguing. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to scream "wtf are you doing" and "seriously no not again".
I disappeared into the pages of the story effortlessly, the words flow so smoothly with the relatively face paced story you don't realise your at then end until there's no more words. Bella has definitely created another phenomenal story that long terms fans and new fans are going to fall in love with.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is how its fucking done! Bella kicked this sweet little books ass! I have been waiting for this book for months. Soooo, when I got the ARC I went all in. Screw work and everything else I had to get done. This book was top priority. This was a great read!!!! Most definitely one of the best Ive ever read. And trust me, theres been A LOT! Her writing style and the way she hooks you into a story is amazing. I was so consumed with this book I lost track of time. Until someone interrupted my reading, and Ill just say it wasn't pretty when they did.

Lucy is a little sassy mess! I flove her! She endured a completely messed up situation and was left all alone. Everyone thought she was literally crazy. Only she wasn't. And the more people didn't believe her the more alone she felt. Like any person would. She is a very brave and strong woman. To be left alone in the world with doubts about her own sanity would be scary. But, she handles it like a champ. Because shes not crazy and her mystery man is very much real. Hes also really freakin sexy! LIKE WOW HOT!

Heath is a freakin beast of a man. Hes huge and so good looking. No wonder Lucy couldn't make up her mind if he was real or not at first. Only issue is that hes involved with some seriously messed up stuff. He cant be with her with out putting her in danger. This part of the book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen. I didn't know whether to sigh like a lovesick puppy or scream like a mad woman at times. Seriously a rollercoaster of emotions. Heath is a MAN! He knows what he wants and knows how to treat a woman right. Hes loyal, honest, and damn fierce. I LOVED HIM!

This was such a great read. I will definitely be reading again because it was just that damn good. Amazing writing, and a hell of a journey! I cant wait for more Bella books because I know they will all be amazing. This is why she is one of my go to authors. One I always recommend when someone is looking for a great read. This is truly one of her very best!

THIS book is a perfect example on why I NEVER read the 'look inside' of a book or excerpt reveals that come out before the book or anything else that might even tell me a single thing that will happen in a story. I don't do those things because I like to experience the book as it happens. I want to preconceived notions about anything. And let me tell ya ... that will work to your advantage with this story.

I love Bella Jewel's work. I always have. But THIS book is special. But I can't tell you how or why! **cries** For two days now I have been mulling over in my head what to write in my review and there is NOTHING I can say ABOUT the story-line itself. It's eye-popping for sure. You'll think you know, but no you won't #TRUST

There's this thing I always say .. "Don't blink". This book gives new meaning to this phrase! Honest to God, I really have no words for you as a reviewer. And I'm really sorry for that. But I implore you to read this book. It is ALL THE THINGS . I don't know what or how else I can say ... you just have to trust me.

I really liked the story, but then after 65%, I just lost interest. Barely finished it. I thought the story started so strong and was very interesting interesting with the cult, etc., but then I found myself skimming. I lost my connection between the hero and heroine. This is a "it was me, but may work for you".

So good! I love that this was so different from Amore, which I just finished reading (also by Bella Jewel). This time you have a married couple dealing with tragedy striking in the worst way - and the inability to cope together. Plus she throws in a religious cult, a mysterious sexy guy, and some intensity to make this a great read. Loved the narration as well... I'm pretty sure this is the same narrator who narrated Sugar Daddy's female parts and I really liked her then too.

Lucy really annoyed me. I just couldn't deal with her and then all of a sudden she was a hero. I didn't really care for her. The rest of the book was decent. 2.5 stars.

"Even when we don't realize it, even when we think that things couldn't get any worse, life will throw us a moment that suddenly helps it make sense. It pieces it all together, it puts it all back in perspective, and you start to wonder how you ever wished for a different path."

This is exactly the kind of book I needed with where I’m currently sitting with books lately.

A book with just the right amount of suspense and intrigue, a hero to swoon and drop panties over, and wait for it…a heroine with a freaking backbone. Holy moly, and what a nice freaking backbone it was.

Now at first, after what Lucy experiences at the beginning of the book, she’s justifiably off. I can’t imagine anyone living through something as intense and scary as she did, see the things she saw and come out it stable and put together. So our lovely heroine got quite the bit of a pass from me on that. Turns out though, that it didn’t take her nearly as long to come into her own again as I was expecting, so the grace period I gave her, didn’t really apply.

She didn’t take any prisoners, not even when it came to Heath and I can’t rave about this aspect enough. I loved it. Freaking fangirling out over scenes and everything. God, I like a woman that’s not afraid to walk the hell away when the situation calls for it. My hat is off to you Bella Jewel. This is the best damn heroine you’ve ever created and you’ve had some good ones.

Now, Heath. Well. I already loved him right from the first scene, and other than a few minor little alpha male slips where he had the very real ability to be a bit of jerk, his feelings were never really in question. Not for this reader. I enjoyed him and as far as hero’s go in my romantic fiction, he was a pretty damn good one. Strong, capable and a good match for the feisty newly discovered Lucy.

I realize this as it sits right now is a standalone, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I do believe I want to see books on the other guys here. Friends, family and the like. They were all very unique personalities themselves, especially Tank, so I’d like to see how all of these guys (and their better halves eventually) would fare.

The suspense wasn’t overly done here and the reason for it, honestly, was very real especially with the way the world is today. Things that are happening here. The bravery shown in some of these scenes and the responses read very realistically to me and only furthered the enjoyment I had with this tale. This is hands down one of my favorite books that Bella has ever done and I’ve read a whole hell of a lot of them. Hat goes off again.

So if I’m sitting here sighing dreamily over this book, why wasn’t it a 5 star? Easy.

The level of steam for this read wasn’t as high as some of the others I’ve read by this author, but when it appeared, it was natural and written to the same caliber as her other novels, (both series and standalone). It worked for me here and for steam lovers, it should as well.

I can’t say anything else that hasn’t already been said by some other reviewers, but if you’re a fan of this author, or of books driven by love, bravery, second chances, happily ever after, with just the right amount of steam, well I don’t think you’ll be disappointed here.

I know I wasn’t.

My thanks to the author and all others for letting me read this wonderful story before its official release. It was a pleasure. A crazy ass pleasurable journey. Bella Jewel, you have outdone yourself here. Be very proud.

When Bella Jewel announced to her fans that she was working on a super secret project, my curiosity hit an all time high. We were given nothing about this story for a long time and even when the cover and synopsis were revealed, I was none the wiser. If anything, I was even more intrigued. The cover was beautiful and as for the synopsis, so many questions rolled around in my mind and I knew I just had to meet these characters and know their story.
"Are you still breathing, Lucy girl?"
Am I still breathing?
"Can you breathe when you're drowning?"

Now having not long finished "Fleeting Moments," I completely get why this book was shrouded in so much secrecy. Even as I turned the pages, the mystery and suspense had me hooked. I can't reveal too much about the plot or the subjects covered but to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. From the minute Lucy met her stranger, I was suddenly hit with a compulsion to read on. That one moment they pair shared was so intense, so powerful, so.... it's hard to describe but from that moment, despite the situation, despite everything else, I really hoped that somehow, someway, the two would find a way to explore the bond that had formed.
He makes me feel okay again. Like the strongest drug, like the most beautiful lie.
From the moment I met Hunter, I was drawn to his character. He really was an enigma but there was just something about him, the way he was, the way he behaved that had my hormones going gaga. I loved his hot, alpha ways. I loved his protective nature but more so, I loved that there was this tender, vulnerable side to him that I caught glimpses of every now and again. Every time he made an appearance, I tried to work out his story, what his deal was because whatever it was, My gut told me it was BIG!!!

Now, Lucy, where do I start with her? To begin with, I really liked her character. I sympathised and empathised with all she had been through and completely understood her frustrations at those around her. However, my views did suddenly change. Firstly, there were certain situations she really could have handled differently. She didn't make things easy for herself, which brings me on to my second point. You know that friend who just can't keep her mouth shut and in your head, you're just screaming "just shut up, just SHUT UP!!!," Well that was me. That girl just could not keep quiet about certain things despite everything she had been told and everything she knew. It was like she was making things worse to prove a point. It was like she had verbal diarrhoea!!! Lord did she drive me bat shit crazy in the end and despite attempting to redeem herself, in my eyes it was a little too late.
"Don't leave me again, moment. "
"Moment?", he whispers, at least, I think he does.
"A fleeting moment. You go as fast as you came.
Just a moment I can't hang on to. Please let me hang on."

Warm lips graze my forehead and them my world goes dark.

This was a pretty short story but I wish it had been longer. I wanted more from so many parts of the story. I wanted more of the secrecy between Hunter and Lucy. I wanted more of that push and pull that drew me in at the start. I wanted so much more made of Hunter's story which (IMO) came to an end far too quickly. I really feel that he deserved a voice in "Fleeting Moments." He needed his own POV. That would have been the icing on the cake for me.
"I think life has a path for all of us, and I think he put Heath in one for a reason."
So all in all, I really enjoyed "Fleeting Moments" which was so different to what we are used to reading from this author and I rated it ❤️❤️❤️.5

Fleeting Moments
Bella Jewel
4.5 stars

I am a Bella Jewel fan .. through and through – I didn’t know what to expect with this book as the cover was different for her and from what we are used to. I can tell you this is a new brand of need to read by Bella.

We have a new family unit with extensions and I hope to lawd we get the others stories. I don’t know much about this release except for that it appeared on my kindle and I couldn’t wait to dig in. I was scared and thought please let me love this and I did.

There was a paragraph at the end of the book that really resonated with me. I don’t usually .. in fact EVER quote from books but this I have to share.

“Even when we don’t realize it, even when we think that things couldn’t get any worse, life will throw us a moment that suddenly helps it make sense. It pieces it all together, it puts I all back into perspective, and you start to wonder how you ever wished for a different path. “

That right there sealed the deal for me on this release. Don’t get me wrong I loved the lead male.

Heath Walker – the mysterious man that holds Lucy’s attention. He saved her from so much more than that day she could have lost her life. He saved her from a life that wasn’t what she thought. Gerald was supposed to be her everything – the one – but somehow he turned and walked away leaving her at the moment she needed him the most. A man she must find – who she knows isn’t imaginary – a man who wears angry scars on his body and his heart.

Fleeting Moments introduces us to more characters that are obviously bad ass men. Blake and Sheldon, two of Heath’s best friends – Johnny his twin brother and Tank who is the oldest. The ONLY thing I can say is that there were a few things that I felt were rushed and needed to play out a bit more in depth. I wanted to know more about Heather and I also wanted to know what Gerald’s intentions and path is in the future. I also need to find out more about Haley. Im just not ready for this to end and I hope that we get more releases with more answers and more stories.

This is a really good read. The subject matter is somewhat iffy maybe for some readers. There isn’t anything graphic but there is talk of rape. If that is a trigger then please do not click. Again there are no depicted scenes or graphic scenes but the word is used more than once.

Thank you Bella for the ARC – I always am giddy when I see your name on my kindle!
