A sexy lion shifter sheriff + an independent BBW who runs a diner + trouble with a local gang = one red-hot romance that will leave you breathless!
Charity Crawford works hard at the diner her father left her. The middle of nowhere on Route 66 isn't the most exciting place to live, but Charity has her hands full with the biker gang that's moving in on her diner. She can't fight them off, and the local police won't help... until the new sheriff in town walks into her diner, and into her heart.
Lion shifter sheriff Mason Whittaker has lived all over the map, but he always seems to end up back home in the end. And when a group of shifter bikers start making trouble in his hometown, he knows he can’t sit idly by. But to his surprise, the gorgeous woman he rescues is the fated mate he never thought he’d find.
The connection between Mason and Charity can’t be denied, but the looming danger threatens to tear them apart. The biker gang wants Charity’s diner – and they won't stop until they get it. Can Mason keep her safe and win her heart?
Lawman Lion is a sizzling hot standalone BBW lion shifter romance. No cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!
The cover is very beautiful with those two amazing beasts on the cover!
This is the first book in the Cedar Hill Lions series. It is for adults only due to horseback riding…okay not really there are some steamy scenes and violence involving some bad bikers.
Charity definitely has spunk that I like :) and Mason is all around awesome. I love his protective side and sense of justice that made him run for Sherriff even as his family said to stay out of it. Tons of action and a new family to fall in love with!
I highly recommend this book to big cat fans because who wouldn’t want a purring lion!
Charity Crawford's diner is struggling, a biker gang has decided it is their new hangout and it is causing her to lose customers. With their constant harassment Charity doesn't know what she is going to do, that is until newly pointed Sheriff Mason Whitaker walks through the door.
Mason realized that Charity is his mate very quickly. How does he convince a human that she is his mate? When Charity accepts him he feels elated but with a biker determined to create havoc for Charity, Mason has to keep her protected as well.
Entertaining story. I liked Mason, he different for a shifter. I thought the story was quickly paced and action packed. Great way to kick off a new series.
An average shifter read. No cheating, instalove, no ow/om drama, no pushing away. no epilogue (big no-no in my book) Likeable main characters, just felt lacking.
Charity and Mason are great together, Mason is a protective sheriff when he finds out his mate is being hassled by a motorcycle shifter group. Mason wanted to become the new sheriff in town so he protect humans as well as doing a better job than the old chief. Charity owns a diner that her father gave to her so she wouldn't give it up until the motorcycle group shows up and scares her customers away she doesn't know what to do until she sets eyes on Mason. these two together are cute, I liked charity because when Mason told her he was a Lion she didn't freak out she took it and moved on she understood what being his mate meant.
This was a little slow. The beginning was good but they got together pretty quick and she found out about all the sifter stuff at the same time so the rest of the book just wasn't that exciting. There was the whole motorcycle gang aspect but overall the story didn't keep my interest well.
I did like the whole set up of characters. If Chant makes this a series I can see it being interesting. I would have like an epilogue, maybe a little about after the dinner was re-opened.
WOW! Sizzling hot romance left me tingling and speechless!
Lawman Lion, book 1 of Zoe Chant's Cedar Hill Lions series, was a perfect demonstration of Zoe's storytelling talent. It takes a master wordsmith to be able through words alone make a love scene so vivid it was like you were expecting a voyeur moment. I had to take a moment to catch my breath before I could continue reading. WOW! I was speechless!
As great as the romance was between her two main characters, Zoe Chant's talent as a paranormal romance writer lies in her ability to balance the romance with an incredibly suspenseful story. The trouble that brings Mason, the hunky lion shifter sheriff, together with Charity, his surprise fated mate and a hard-working diner owner off route 66, is as exciting as Zoe's love scenes. Her characterizations make it possible for me to "see" the people in this story as though I was right there. Reading this novel was a treat for all my senses; a visual, virtual, and visceral experience. I saw and tasted the warm, greasy, salty goodness of the French fries served at the diner. I had to stop at the snack shack in town for a milkshake after reading about them in this book! And I shuddered when I heard motorcycles pulling up as I sipped my chocolate shake while reading this novel. I was surprised to note I was in my own house, far off the beaten path in rural Missouri, with not a single motorcycle outside my home! Chasity's confrontation with the gang in the book was so incredibly real, I lost track of my own reality for a minute.
To be able to totally lose myself in a book, momentarily forget all of my own concerns, and completely relax, is what makes a book a bestseller in my mind. Zoe Chant's Lawman Lion is that kind of novel! It is the reason her books are on my Must Read shelf.
I highly recommend Zoe Chant's Lawman Lion if you find yourself in need of a temporary escape from your reality. To paraphrase my favorite t-shirt- Sitting on my sofa, disappearing into a good book and ignoring my problems is the ADULT thing to do! Come join me with this wonderful story!
Mason is a lion shifter as well as a Lawman for his county. He knows in order to keep the shifters of the world safe is to protect humans. He meets Charity, who is a human, owns a diner, and his mate. He knows he have to gently woo her.
However, there is trouble with a motorcycle shifter pack, wanted to own her Diner. Will they be able to solve their problems and become mates?
I like the series because of the uniqueness of the characters. Male lions usually are depicted as selfish lazy shifters but not in this series. The characters are relatable, hard-working, and trying to make a difference. The plot is fast-paced drama with on the edge of your seed twists and turns. I don't want to give much away of the plot as a spoiler alert. But I am going to borrow these books on Kindle Unlimited and continue reading this series because I enjoyed reading this so much. Highly recommended.
Read in the box set. Well worth reading with lovely likeable main characters and side characters. Short insta-mate bond connection between shifter lions and their human mates. Love that there are good and bad shifters as well as humans. Good read about a diner owner, Charity who is being harassed by shifter bikers. That is until the new Sherriff comes into the diner and realises he has met his mate. Charity is a lovely person, tougher than she looks who takes no gumf from anyone, even Mason. Mason is a lion shifter and against his alphas orders, (An alpha who is also his uncle) has taken on the role of sheriff as the previous human sheriff was crooked. Meeting his mate and protecting her from the bikers becomes a challenge, especially as it seems a family member is causing mischief.
Charity is a businesswoman and owns a restaurant. Mason is the new sheriff in town and also a lion shifter. Charity has been having problems with a biker gang who is running off her regular customers. Mason comes to the restaurant for dinner when he sees Charity having trouble with the leader of the bikers. As soon as he touches her he knows she is his mate. Working together they end up saving her restaurant, getting rid if the biker gang, and starting a wonderful future for themselves and their family and friends. A wonderful start to the series.
I thought for sure we are going to have some trouble from those bikers but I'm kind of mad that they're bears. However, I know that there are bad guys in every species. I also figured the little cousin was siding with them even though he was still wet behind the ears and didn't know the whole story. I can't wait to read Heath's story.
Zoe has written another spellbinding book. Mason was elected Sheriff. He is a lion shifter. Charity owns the diner and is having issues with Jessup, who is the alpha of the shifter motorcycle club. Charity is Mason's mate. Jessup is trying to coerce her into selling her diner to the club. He is up to no good. Excellent book.
Charity runs a diner she inherited from her father. Things are looking rough with the biker gang running off her customers. Mason ran for sheriff because he knew the old sheriff was crooked and all to human to take down the shifter bikers. Read their story of they work together to take the outlaw gang down.
I really enjoyed this book. It tells the story of Charity a human owner of a that is been harassed by a motorbike gang of shifters and sexy Mason, a lion shifte/sheriff. Mason just found out Charity is his mate and now he will have to fight against this dangerous gang to keep his mate safe. Highly recommended
As usual, great story, with strong lead characters, male AND female. Mason was the new Sheriff, and a lion shifter. Charity was a fiesty human, who wasn't afraid to stand up for herself, and was Mason's mate! They had some difficulties to overcome, both familial and criminal. Grab the book to see what happens!
I have been on a shifter binge and that is where I found Zoe. I have enjoyed many of her books since then and am working my way through them. There are some minor editing issues in her early books but not enough to give up reading them.
With many variety of shifters who are hot and true mates I am sure you will enjoy them as much as me.
Lawman Lion (Cedar Hill Lions Book 1) by Zoe Chant. Charity owned a diner on Route 66 but was being bothered by a biker gang. New sheriff lion shifter Mason needs to stop the gang before they take over Cedar Hill. After a run in with the gang at the diner Mason realises Charity is his mate.
NO i like my H to be Alpha's and in this he wasn't,kinda beta the h was ok. Plus there was no chemistry between the leads, no spark nothing. Also everything was boring to read, even the issues were resolved with no proper angst, it was anticlimactic. The relationship development between the H and h was way too instant along with the ILU's.
I was so excited to start reading this book. However,, it is very short. I would have liked more time to be able to Be a To the characters. I think it's a good Begin beginning Maybe a long long line of great books. I just would have preferred a little more context. Thank you for the book I did enjoy reading it.
This is such a great start to this new Cedar Hill Series. I hope the rest of the series is just as good. What more could you ask for than a good looking Lion Shifter and your local pretty girl who is the owner of the diner in town,
I never would have believed how much I enjoy shape shifter books. I love cats and I love how feline characteristics are in these characters. The story has strong, lovable characters, suspense, and romance. I love the way the story tugs at my imagination!
I definitely enjoyed this cute story, with a bad guy bikie gang trying to ruin the heroine’s diner, and the hunky sheriff stepping in to protect her. Surprise, he is her fated mate - there is a happy ending. This is a great feel good story, fun light reading
