Of course this book was beautiful but it was much to hard for children ages six and under to be reading. The pages were paragraphs long and the pictures were phtography… I did not know exactly what i expected but i do know i was kinda let down. Belle is of course a young girl who takes her fathers place in the Beasts castle... The Beast learns to like Belle and we all know that Belle learns to like him in return. They fall in love before the last pedal falls and the beast turns into a beautiful prince.
I have always loved Beauty and the Beast and i personally think that its a book i could read over and over again but its not a bok that i would want my kids to bring back to me over and over again because its to hard to read. The Walt Disney company should have hired an illustrator instead of useing photography because children in my opinion my not be as drawn to photography as they are with beautiful colored picture.
Don't get me wrong the story is still getting five stars... Just because its not a young kids read and there is no creativity in it does not mean that i am going to take awy points because Beauty and the Beast is a very lovely classic and it shows what the power of love can do. This boks is reccomended to second grade classrooms and above because i know they would enjoy it much more the kindergarden and first graders would.
Do you ever pick up a book simply because you just love the fairytale it's based on? Because that is exactly what I did here!
Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite tales, and I have read countless renditions and retellings. Is this one similar to the other retellings? Yes, but it was still a fun listen. No new twists here, but I appreciate the story and the lessons it imparts. It reads more like a summary than a retelling, but I still enjoyed it.
As for the audiobook aspect, 10/10 excellent narration and music!
I like this book because of the ending. You saw a little of Belle and the Beast's Happily Ever After. They turned the library into a schoolroom for both boys and girls. I liked this addition to the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. Most of the multitude of picture books for B&B are the same rehashing of the movie with no surprises. This was a nice entry in the plethora of tie-in books.
I must admit. I do not like the new version of the "Beauty and the Beast" whether it be any of the novels or the movie. Even though my kids enjoyed this short story, I must admit that I did not.
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.
For the most part this book was really well done. I enjoyed reading it. The only problems I had with it were that there were a few parts where the writing was a little weird and confusing and some of the pictures were really dark and had to see. Overall though I enjoyed the book and it summarized the movie really well.
This is a book review of Beauty and the Beast - Walt Disney (because I cant find it anywhere, so I decided to leave my review here) , but also this book:
Definitely five stars. One of the most beautiful Disney fairy tales. I first read this book in elementary school. Then I discovered the animated Disney fairy tale movie, that I remember to this day. A wonderful book about love and friendship, not only for children. This fairy tale books tells of a cruel and selfish Prince who was cursed by a Magician, because he refused to give her shelter from a storm. She was in the form of a beggar. She turned him into a terrifying beast and his servants into household items. She told him that the spell would be broken when he learned to love others, and he would be loved too. If the last rose petal falls, he will stay a beast forever. After a few years.... Bella is beautiful and loves books. She dreams of adventures and travels. She lives in the village with her father, who is an inventor. One day, her father goes to a competition with a new invention. On his way back, he gets lost in the forest and ends up in the Beast's castle, where he is thrown into a dungeon. Only the horse returns home, so the girl decides to look for her father. She goes to the Beast's house, where she decides to take her father's place in exchange for his freedom. Time passes in the castle. Bella makes friends with Beast servants, who tell her about the curse. However, when she finds the enchanted rose, she is chased away by the Beast. Bella escapes from the castle and is attacked by wolves. The beast saves her, but is injured. Bella takes him to the castle and heals his wounds.
The book also features the narcissistic and evil Gaston. He wants to marry Bella at all costs, and will stop at nothing to do so.
I will end my review at this point because I want you to discover this book alone. Want to know what will happen with Belle and the Beast? What will her father's life be like? Will Gaston marry Bella? Read it and see... :)
The live action Beauty and the Beast exists to remind us that the original animated version is better. This book exists to remind us that the film version exists to remind us that the animated version is better. Wheels within wheels. (Or the making of a buck any way possible.)
I gotta admire the writer for condensing this in less than 10 minutes. Because sometimes that's all we just need to appreciate this classic fairy tale.
Short and to the point - A feature film reduced to eight minutes of goodness. I could picture the majesty of the movie even as I planned my next listen.
Plain and simple telling of Beauty and the Beast. Nothing special, but perfectly adequate for what it was. Impressive that they got it all into 10 minutes without missing anything integral
I think that there was too much left out of even the original beauty and the beast story and the live action remake. With things being left out, it changed the dynamic of the story for me and I couldn't get into this story like I usually can.
This book was a shortened adaptation of the new movie. It wasn't terribly detailed, though, and lost a lot of the charm of the new movie. The art is movie stills, and some of them are odd choices for the scenes being described, but the art is still quality.
