This could’ve been a full-length novel. Not-Joe deserves it.

Great little quick short of Not-Joe. Yes we find out his real name and we get to see and understand better the weird rhythm that makes him the Not-Joe we haven't gotten to know much.

The whole gang is here...Yay! I just love them all and this series.
For a really really short story there are actually some great scenes here. Must read if you're a fan of the series!

3⭑

Tropes;
Strangers to friends to lovers

This is a short novella (around 70-80 pages I think) about Not-Joe, a side character in books 1-4 in this series. We also see Perry (Ansel’s ex from book 1) and she sort of redeems herself.

Because it’s a novella, the story takes place in the space of two weeks. It was cute, a little insta love, but it could’ve been developed more. It didn’t even have a spicy scene which was disappointing lol

Honestly the three stars are for how much I love Not-Joe

This was not my favorite thing, unfortunately :(
I am just not that big of a fan of Perry since we first met her in book one.

Also why wasn't this longer??? This could be a fun and interesting full-length story!

This was too short! I feel like not Joe deserves a way longer story! But I did like how this ended with an air of possibility.

This is a short story about not-Joe and Perry. Perry comes to town with a little help from Mia to settle things and she finds Not-Joe. Not-Joe is more than happy to spend as much time as possible with Perry.

These two were very cute! Loved them!

(Why is all of this in French?)

Not Joe deserved a full book, but if we were getting a short I would have at least liked knowing what happens, and not feeling like I only got the first chapters of an upcoming book…

Come on, who didn't want to see Not Joe get his HEA. But that's the thing that went missing here....the ENDING part. I was super excited to see who he was being paired with and couldn't wait to see how this was all going to play out but it just fell kinda flat. That's the only complaint that I have with this series. Definitive endings. I love me a good epilogue that's a year or two down the road. It lets us feel more settled with the characters, like we can let them go. I just feel unsettled. I need to know that they all are doing ok. And that was what I was looking forward to with this short story. Oh well. Can't wait to read more from this duo! They are a go to for fun reading.

I've always felt very uncomfortable with how the Perry character was treated in the first book. I get that Ansel was unhappy in their relationship, but the way he handled it in the first book was not ok. I really felt her pain - I mean, she'd been with this guy for six or seven years, been cheated on but was in love with him and trying to make things work, shared an apartment, engaged to him even (which means at some point, he proposed to her - think about that), and he just straight out ghosts her on an overseas trip with their shared best friends, then pops up a couple months later married to some girl several years younger living in the apartment - in the same bed even - that they both shared.

I would have liked this story for the resolution of that alone. I appreciated that everyone involved admitted that the way they all treated her was terrible because it was.

Now... this story was good, and I love Not-Joe. He's so much more than he seems, and I want him to help Perry rebuild her confidence after the way she's been treated as almost a villain for acting like the heartbroken wreck she was.

I just wish there were more... All these damn books need epilogues, but none more than this one just so I can know that the characters I'm actually invested in are ok.

Cute novella about Perry (Ansel’s ex and BFFs with Oliver and Finn) and Not-Joe (real name: Dylan), Oliver’s employee who’s featured heavily in the previous books as an amusing side character. She’s in San Diego and meets

Could have gone on to be a full length book tbh. I think Dylan kind of deserves a proper build up and send off. He’s surprising and comes across as a highly intelligent, compassionate guy despite his randomness. I would’ve loved to learn more about him and this was a missed opportunity in my opinion!

I love Not-Joe/Dylan! My heart really wishes that there was a full length novel of the love story that is Perry and Dylan. I am content with this short in lieu of. :)

I finally found where I could read this

https://christinalaurenbooks.com/2016...

I really liked “Not-Joe” (spoiler ahead with his real name) in the other books and was looking forward to his story. I would give this more stars 🌟 if this very short story was developed into a novel. Looking back at the series that I read a long time ago, I remember how much I disliked Ansel in the first one and how I struggled with book 1. I cannot stand cheaters and how righteous he was. And it still bugs me how they all acted as if his “ex” Perry was the villain. Full credit to her having feelings and reacting as many would.

SPOILER ALERT for this short story ahead…

I liked that Perry got to get her friend Oliver back and that this story could have developed into more for her and Dylan (not - Joe).

If this story was to develop - I wouldn’t expect them to stay in the friend group pretending everything is fine and dandy because Perry apologized again and was granted Mia and Ansel’s forgiveness for her valid reactions (though I can’t remember what she actually did 😅 and I cannot bring myself to read number 1 again). I actually preferred these spin off stories of the side characters (number 4, about Luke and London) more than the original 3.

I loved getting to see more about Dylan (AKA) Not Joe :) he is a fascinating character and his book was great ,i just wished it was longer ! but i loved that him and Perry hit it off ,i didn't see that one coming ,i actually never thought we would see Perry again after everything that happened with her, Mia and Ansel ,but i liked that she wasn't the bitch we all thought she was .

Dylan is just so weird and funny ,he marches to the beat of his own drum and i love that he just says whatever pops into his head :) i love him so much.

Her and Dylan are kinda perfect for each other :) loved this whole short story :)
Great add to the series :)

This was tooo darn short! It was so good though
I love Not-Joe and the name mystery has bugged me too, I love how he randomly gave his name to a perfect stranger but introduced himself to the gang as "not-Joe" hehe

I like Perry in this and I understand why we hated her in the first book, it was a very crazy situation
I cant believe this series is over! Why?!

OMG!!! I loved it.. I LOVED NOT-JOE!! Such a refreshing and interesting simple yet complex character. Would really love for him to have his very own full book together with Perry! XD

4.5 Stars just because it was too short and I wanted so much MORE!!

Not-Joe's story was so sweet.
I'm actually glad it's so different from the other love stories in this series. No steam in this one but it was just as good. It was very simple and sweet and a little quirky, just like Not-Joe. :)

Not doing a lengthy review, because it's not an exaggeration that this is a short story so I'll keep this short. Not Joe - fascinating & enjoyed it. Could read a whole book about him. Perry on the other hand, um... not so much. Cute little read though.

So I love Not-Joe and this had some moments where I was actually laughing out loud and loved it. But this was too short. I didn't get the chance to connect with Perry enough and feel their relationship. I want to know more and see where it goes.

Cute little short story. Not Joe should have had a full story though - everyone else in the group did.
