The moral of the story: Always go in with a plan.
In real life of course, plans often need to be adjusted as circumstances change. But it's still good advice to start out with a baseline plan, rather than launching into something with no preparation at all.
However, the fact that this book uses the modern stereotype of the men barreling in "without thinking ahead" and the women having to team up to form a plan and rescue their male friends, may offend some parents. I personally didn't mind this plot device, probably because I am an adult woman. And the book's ending did showcase characters of all genders working together to defeat the final villain.
The Lego Classic Space logo on a jacket in one illustration was also a fun hidden detail.
Did I like it? Yes.
Would I reread it? Maybe.
Would I recommend it? Probably.

March 2019 - Ben chose this from the school library, and it gets an extra star for having female superheroes play a starring role, and self-deprecating humor.
