According to my diary entry from 1995, it lacked 'that certain something' that makes biographies great.

I give this a very mediocre 3 stars. It was only 80’s to 90’s and did not probe well into his life. Hopefully a more joyful and insightful biop will be available soon!! This book did discuss Tiny Dancer (a personal favorite) as well as Benny and the Jets - and the determinants on each lyrical quest. Read, but don’t expect to be wow’ed.

Lot of details in the life of EJ in the early 70s through the 80s.
