America’s population is slowly dying due to an epidemic, and Alexander, an ancient, immortal shaman, has medicine that can heal people. It has one small side effect—Alexander’s able to control the minds of anyone taking the drug, nicknamed “dust.”
Alexander plans to take over the country once dust is released to the general public, crushing anyone who stands in the way. He needs just a little bit more of a certain magical ingredient to make the medication work properly: fairy wings.
An intelligent, stunning fairy, Sabrina was also America’s sweetheart—until a video of a crime she was involved in surfaces, nearly destroying her. A year later, she’s finally ready to step back into the spotlight. Together with her bodyguard, Mira, a water spirit in human form, Sabrina’s prepared to start over.
Things are starting to look up until she meets Alexander in a club and goes from social outcast to tortured captive in the blink of an eye. Will she be able to escape the evil shaman and his mind-controlled slaves in time to save herself and everyone she cares about?

Wow...what a fantastically creative and innovative book. Although I've read one of this author's horror novellas, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from a full-length paranormal novel from him. What I got surpassed my non-existent expectations (so I guess I had some...I just didn't know exactly what they were.)
This is a story about four friends that come together in an effort to keep a bad guy from killing Sabrina for her wings.
1. Sabrina is a fairy. She's the modern day equivalent of Kardashian or Paris Hilton. She's famous for her beauty and partying ways...and her incredibly gorgeous back tattoo of wings...that isn't really a tattoo at all. A year ago, she lost everything when her boyfriend Cade filmed them having sex. The press got hold of the tape and Sabrina's life was ruined. She's just now beginning to recover from that debacle.
2. Cade is a vampire who was turned during the Civil War and he's completely in love with Sabrina. He has no idea what even happened to her after he videoed them because the vampires have all been put to ground...pulled into a deep sleep by the vampire empire...and all of that happened after he went to sleep. But Sabrina needs his help so he's awake again, even though she is not happy with him.
3. Moselle is Sabrina's best friend and also Egyptian royalty who's a few thousand years old. Yeah, she's a modern day mummy, but nobody knows that except other paranormal beings. She has a really interesting history and existence today to maintain her healthy appearance. No spoilers, but wow... (And can I just say...every scene from Moselle's house-besides the snakes-made me want to see it. Her closet- gasp!)
4. Jackson is the human in the bunch. He's Moselle's boyfriend and I think he was my favorite character. He's a hockey player but battling all these supernatural creatures (that originally he didn't even know existed...including what Moselle really is), but he takes everything in stride and puts his hockey moves to good use during battles. I really did love him and how he pretty much took this all in stride because he cares so much for Moselle.
The story is chock-full of action that involves a ton of paranormal creatures who are all existing in the human world. But threaded within the story are other miniature vignettes in time and from history about how all these characters got to this place. Those vignettes go from ancient Egypt, to the Civil War, to even Hitler...yeah, there were some really fun and creative ways the author tied history into this modern day paranormal world.
I really enjoyed reading it. And while the suspense story line concluded in this book, the story line for the characters doesn't look like it's over yet. YES! Can I just say how excited I am about that? I can't wait to see what happens with them next and where the author takes them all.
This is a book that throws you into the middle of the story from the start. There is a great amount of action and a wonderful, easy to follow story line. As the story proceeds you continue to learn about the characters and get lost in the book. I pictured this book playing as a movie as i read. Great details! I couldn't put the book down! The book reads at a nice pace, not all action, but not slow and boring either..a nice medium. It encompasses new takes on fantasy and I loved the views he took. I love the new spins on the typical fantasy characters and addition of characters that are not commonly written about. The historical information used in the book is accurate as well; Kevin did a great job being accurate and doing his research. The book ends leaving you questioning what happened and will happen, leaving you sitting on the edge of your seat. It leaves you craving for more!
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline was different and as with Kevin's style all unique and colourful. Each character is strong and well crafted. You instantly like them and feel for them. The story is different and well crafted. As with Kevin's other stories you can tell he really cares about his story and his characters. The book begins quickly and you are immediately thrown into the action and meeting each character. I couldn't put it down because you constantly want to know what is happening to each person and the next scenario. It's funny, clever and at times a little naughty. ;) The ending leaves you wanting to know more about what has happened, what will happen and what will become of some of the characters. Certain chapters were often nail biting stuff at times. This book was definitely worth the read for its uniqueness and its humour.
This book took me by surprise. I had read the blurb, and I wasn’t sure that it was my cup of tea. However, Kevin Breaux brought out some hidden qualities that aren’t typically in fantasy novels. The book begins en medias res, which is one of my favorite literary styles of all time. We’re thrown into the action, not knowing exactly what happened or what’s going on.
I absolutely loved the mythology that Breaux created—placing a creative twist to the fairy tales that we know and love today. While I’ve read other books Breaux has written, this one is completely different from his dark fantasy series.
Sabrina is a fairy, but not your typical fairy that we’re used to. She’s not even really the typical “dark fantasy” fairy either, since she has a very unique backstory. She was an interesting character to read. She’s the typical starlet who loves fashion and spends a crap-ton of money on clothes and shoes. She lived the party style and had an incident because of it that ruined her reputation. While she’s the type of character that I love to hate, Breaux writes her in a way that makes me sympathize with her and even more: I root for her.
While Cade is on the blurb of the book, I would actually see him more of a secondary character. He’s not even in the book (except for the flashbacks) until the second half. While I enjoyed his character, I don’t really know much about him except for he’s a vampire. Since this book ended in a sort-of cliffhanger, I assume that Breaux will expand on him in other books.
Moselle is a mummy. That’s something I didn’t expect in a fantasy book. Breaux has a very interesting take on mummies. Instead of the gross, falling-apart being that I expected, she’s a very sexually-appealing, confident woman. The history behind her becoming a mummy is actually one of my favorite stories in this novel. Breaux completely created a brand-new mythology for mummies and I loved it completely.
Mira is my favorite character, which is odd, because she is a very minor character in this novel. She just had this very honest and humble air about her. While Moselle and Sabrina are very “valley girl,” Mira is less so. She’s the average girl and that helped me relate with her the most.
Jackson was my least favorite, to be honest. He didn’t really contribute to all of the action, caused more chaos, and actually distracted some of the characters from achieving their goal. This was probably the point of this character, since every good story needs an antagonist, and when you have two, even better.
Alexander Kintner, the bad guy of it all, is the true antagonist. While Jackson didn’t really help (and sometimes hindered), Kintner actively fought against Sabrina. While I don’t know Kintner’s backstory (and I’m dying to) he is a very good antagonist. However, he’s more Voldemort than Umbridge in that yeah, he’s evil and yeah, you want to defeat him, but you’re not really attached and actively hating him.
This story was definitely very interesting and completely unique. While there are a lot of shock-worthy elements, a lot of swearing, and sex, it doesn’t actually matter and I got incredibly invested in the story. There is a small cliffhanger at the end, but all of the issues are resolved in the book. There are a few loose ends, but not enough to make you worry. Breaux brings in some conflict towards the end that obviously points towards a sequel, but it could probably be read as a stand-alone without much frustration (I did fall on the floor in distress when I figured out the book was over but that’s just me). I recommend this book to those who are tired of the typical fairy tales and want a nice twist, but don’t mind some R-rated fun added in.
To say this wasn't your typical fairy tale story is an understatement, and if you're expecting forests and misty mountains, then you won't find those in this book. It's a modern take on these mystical beings in a modern era. And I enjoyed this new release from Kevin James Breaux so much. I found the characters relatable, funny, complex (with so many secrets!), and who doesn't like a potty mouth! It was intriguing to follow Sabrina, the fairy, as she weaved her way through the plot, as well as the other characters who had equal time, as their stories unfolded. I loved how the modern and ancient were blended together smoothly, even getting snippets of the characters past to get insight into their characters. From how it ended, I can see there's a sequel in the works, which I look forward to reading as soon as its out!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was funny, vivid, and clever. I highly recommend anyone to add this to their paranormal library. Readers will not be dissapointed.
A story which is not only creative but has a drama full of vampires, nut busting fairies, werewolves and what not.
It’s not only one smoking hot piece of fairy tail called Sabrina who is on a mission to save everyone in her country from Alexander Kintner’s dust but also Sabrina’s four friends that come together in an effort to keep him away from killing Sabrina for her wings that has certain magical power to make his medication work properly on America’s population.
Will she be able to make the man, who had killed so many of her kind, summon his mastery of elements?
There are some stories so good that seeing them in a table of contents is an added incentive to buy the book. A delightful gathering of fantasy tales that will make you hooked on to the book as you enjoy some unworldly elements, thrills, mystery, suspense with endings that will make you want to wait and learn more about the characters in the next series. If this sounds like it should be in your bag then you might enjoy this book.
Mr Breaux responded to my mentioning on FB that I loved his cover. It was for this book, that he was promoting. I am a review chair for a paranormal book guild and I love book covers!! I do see many. The author asked if I would review his book for a copy and and give a fair review and since I love to read a new author to me ; I accepted. From the cover and this book title, I was a bit surprised by the story. I thought by the picture and title it might be a cute, sexy, quick read. I was truly surprised by the storyline and the quality of what I began.
When an author is starting a new series, ( that I hope this one is to be), he is tasked with world building, new characters for the reader to bond with, and a story to hold the readers interest. Our author has given us a ‘foursome’ spanning the gamut, A Human, A Vampire, A Zombie and A Fairy. Yes wow! The story in essence is the ‘fearsome foursome’ having to fight one enemy to save mankind, while dealing with their own internal story.
We begin with a stunning young woman Sabrina, who is a Fairy, who has been lying low, keeping out of the spotlight after her wanton ways have hurt her publicly and even hurt her family ties. She is finally ready to step out of the darkness with Mira, her bodyguard; who is a water sprite. Sabrina's best friend is Mosselle. She is Egyptian royalty, who's a few thousand years old. She's a modern day mummy, but nobody knows that except the other paranormals.
Mosselle is very interesting as we learn how she stays so young and beautiful in today’s world. She takes as a lover a human, who is Jackson , who is adorably smitten with this beauty and takes Moss as who she is so calmly, since he is so in love with her.
Last but not least is our vampire Cade, who was turned during the Civil War. He is completely in love with Sabrina and the feeling is mutual. I love that Sabrina had to go ‘dig him up’ to get his help. I loved Cade’s back story the most, even though I do love anything Egypt. Mosselle was not my first choice.
The story came together so intensely, the danger was always in the forefront, and you never knew what ‘other worldly’ characters you might meet along the way. Great job Mr. Breaux. I look forward to read more of your work.

Disclosure: I received a review book from the author in exchange for a honest review.
3 1/2 stars.
Kevin J. Breaux is best known for his fantasy series the Soul Born Saga which I am a fan. One Smoking Hot Fairy Tail is his latest foray into the Urban Fantasy genre and he did it well. There were many paranormal creatures; from vampires, wendigos, elementals, shamans, mummies, to zombies and faeries! I’ll be honest, at first I thought with so many paranormals, the story would surely be weighed down. But it never was! Breaux incorporated the paranormals into the story flawlessly and every detail made sense from their purpose to their background/history.
The background and world building was pretty solid as I said. I liked learning about each of the characters and their past and how it shaped their lives and personalities. However, the characters themselves weren’t as strong or developed as I hoped. Sabrina London, our heroine is a celebrity and a fairy but I never connected to Sabrina or the others. She is celebrity and all but not the kind that had good press. Next we have Moselle, Sabrina’s best friend who is a mummy. Moselle’s story was the most interesting as I’ve never read about a modern day mummy. I love all things Egyptian. She can only live in natural light, she takes humans’ life force and wraps her body in silk to maintain youthful(even though she’s almost 4,000 years old), and snakes take a liking to her which she says is a curse. Then there’s Cade, Sabrina’s vampire boyfriend who is from the civil war era and Jackson, the human of the group. The two get sucked into Sabrina’s life when a villain starts hunting Sabrina for her wings. While the men had equal page times as the ladies, I still found them to be small supporting characters.
Overall I enjoyed One Smoking Hot Fairy Tail. It took some time to get the story rolling but once it started it was non-stop action till the end. And just when I thought everything was good and dandy, readers are left with a cliff hanger that I had soooo many questions about! I would definitely recommend this brand new series to a mature audience, since there are graphic scenes and profanities.
The clumsy title and scantily-clad ethereal beauty on the cover seem to promise smut of the Playboy variety. The writing is not as bad as that and there’s plenty of non-sexual action to keep the average reader interested. But as I read, there was a sense of dissatisfaction that only grew as the story progressed.
While the premise piques the attention—fairies exist and there’s a bad guy who’s hunting them for their wings—the writing at times falls curiously flat, with the author telling the state of a person’s emotions or actions rather than showing.
The romance between fairy Sabrina and vampire Cade seems entirely sexual, especially with Sabrina’s initial feelings for him yawing between annoyance (from his constant bitings and ripping of her clothes) to flaming lust. In fact, the desire she experiences at his touch is so overwhelming, I wondered if anything else was holding together their relationship. When she reunites with him after a period of enforced vampire slumber, his demand that she allow him to bite and screw her reads like extortion. That sordid bargain is followed by a scene more indicative of brutal rape than tender seduction. Moselle’s relationship with the mortal Jackson isn’t much better, seeing as she initially lies to and deceives him about her true nature as one of the “cursed undead”, as she calls herself.
In spite of these flaws, the plot is actually quite good, original and action packed. It features the usual tropes about supernatural beings along with unusual additions, ones that actually make sense rather than being ridiculous nonsense dreamed up by the author (sparkling vampires, my foot). However, I was irked when I realized there were loose threads left at the end, which always indicate a sequel. Why it wasn’t made clear this book is the start of a series is puzzling. Perhaps Mr. Breaux was too unsure of the novel’s possible appeal to promise a follow-up.
If you wish to invest time and money in a porn-action-horror-supernatural-romance-thriller series featuring vampires, mummies and windigos (oh my), you could do worse than this one.
I enjoyed this book so much that I kept losing track of time. I'd start reading during my lunches and next thing I know my hour has gone by. I felt like I was watching a movie and think it could be adapted to into a motion picture fairly easily. When an Urban Fantasy story about elementals, vampires, mummies, windegos and fairies has you this enthralled you can't help spreading the word to get others interested in reading it too.
The cover art is absolutely beautiful. One might believe this is a chick book, however you would be mistaken and anyone that loves this genre will greatly relish the story. I hope there is a sequel since it offers a great cast that would lend its self to further adventures.
If your a fan of the White Wolf RPG World of Darkness books or love the Urban Fantasy this is a book you won't want to miss.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw this was a paranormal story, but I got sucked right into it. The dialogue is *extremely* entertaining and the characters were fascinating. Breaux has a knack for world-building and left me wanting more, so I hope he writes a series of these.
Kevin James Breaux, known for dark, epic fantasy novels, takes a marvelous turn with a lighter—but sexier—fare in One Smokin’ Hot Fairy Tail. Breaux turns pop culture, in True Blood-esque style, on its head by metamorphosing panty-flashing, paparazzi-hunted starlets into smart, sassy, non-human entities in disguise and pitting them against dangerous drug lords who depend on magical essence for their products. The cast features fairies, vampires, werewolves, water nymphs, and something special that I refuse to spoil—suffice it to say that Breaux takes an old, common monster trope and gives it a much-needed infusion of modernism and sexiness that comes as a complete surprise. While the book is a departure from Breaux’s preferred fantasy-horror genre, fans will still appreciate the dark overtones and the exquisite descriptions, as well as some pretty smokin’ hot sex scenes. Vampire-biting foreplay, anyone? Yes, please. My only advice would be that he embrace the popular vernacular rather than relying on old-fashioned euphemisms in his erotic passages. While the characters aren’t afraid to call a spade a spade in their own dialogue, the narration over-avoids offensive language (thankfully without using “purple” prose). Nevertheless, the passages are definitely erotic, and the dialogue is sharp and witty. It’s a refreshing to read about tabloid-grabbing starlets using all the gossip and photos as a device to hide their “real” selves under these false media personas, and that they’re actually intelligent, brave, ass-kicking women who own their sexuality and use it to empower themselves. And the fact that some of them have wings is an added bonus.
I won this book through a giveaway that The Bibliophagist was running through her twitter. I was the lucky one and won yay go me. I thought I'd leave a review of this book. Which everyone should go out and buy. I did give this 5/5 on Amazon and Goodreads so doing the same on here.

My review:
If you think that this book is about fairies and all things nice then your wrong but not in a bad way. You are thrown straight into the deep end of this book which is a good thing. The character build up is good as it moves along with the story nicely not jumping ahead to giveaway the story line as you don't know what to expect. I literally couldnt put this book down from start to finish. (I've even told the Mrs to read it when she gets the chance to) The book is set in modern-day times and has a range of paranormal creatures who are living amongst humans.
There is four main characters in the book a fairy, vampire, mummy and a human. Yeah I know quite a different type of paranormal that wouldn't usually go together but they make it work.
Action packed book from start to finish you wont be disappointed in this book at all. It leaves you wanting more and i cant wait to read the second book as it leaves you hanging for more.
the charters in the book are so well written that I take my hat off to the author he's done such a great job writing this book and look forward to his future endeavours.
This was my first book by Kevin - it was a great read, very detailed with lots of fae and magical creatures galore, all set in a modern day setting!
You are thrown right into the mix from the very start of the book, it doesn't bring you in gently you're literally thrown into the story, which took me a little time to get used to with this one, but once I caught up I was really captivated with the story line and the drama as it was unfolding.
Sabrina is a fairy, very much a socialite, partying, designer clothes, always in the spotlight. Her boyfriend Cade, a vampire, ends up videoing them having just committed a crime and then having sex. This gets found at the scene and released onto social media which ends up destroying her and her reputation. It takes her a year to recover from this, during which time Cade has been called to a deep sleep along with the rest of the vampire nation and is gone from her life. We don't learn too much more about Cade apart from how he ended up a vampire in the Civil War, hoping that future books will feature more of him.
Sabrina and Mira her bodyguard / friend who is a water spirit, end up going back out into the spotlight, its there she meets Alexander who sets about trying to capture Sabrina for her wings, which look like a tattoo on her back, but are real which some stunning properties, these are what Alexander needs for his new drug and is determined to get her by any means possible.
Moselle is one of Sabrina's closest friends, she also happens to be an Egyptian Mummy. Of course the modern world knows nothing about these supernatural beings that walk the earth with them. Mosselle's story is truly fascinating and I loved her character, her life and its settings - there's not many PNR books featuring a Mummy, so this was a real treat! Moselle along with her very human boyfriend Jackson, who's a hockey player, come to the aid of Moselle in her fight with Alexander. Poor Jackson is a bit clueless, unaware at first that the people he is dealing with are anything but human, but ends up taking it all in his stride!
Sabrina then also needs Cade's help as well, and ends up rousing him from his sleep to help her out, but he is not overly pleased to be up! Still he helps her and is happy to go back to a relationship with Sabrina, not thinking he would be seeing her again quite so soon!
There's a lot of action and drama and the story is well paced keeping you entertained and involved.I enjoyed the stories about the different characters and how they came to be to where they were now in modern day world.
A very different PNR read in a modern setting, with some hot sexy scenes mixed in with the drama, all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely read the next book in this series. Highly recommended reading.
The story will take you by surprise! It's exciting, full of danger and suspense. Sabrina is no sweet, frail, little fairy. She wants to be adored and noticed by all, where's all the expensive name brand clothing, shoes, accessories and drive sporty cars like rich humans. She hypnotically beautiful as a fairy should be, has a bodyguard name Mira who is also her best friend who will protect her and always is by her side. Sabrina has a way of living on the wild side that puts her in danger of humans finding out she's a fairy. She has other friends that are not human and all have lived very interesting lives. Sabrina needs help from her friends to stop an evil and powerful shaman who plans to control all beings. The author keeps you intrigued throughout the whole story and full of surprises. The story kept me wanting more and I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend this book to readers who like fantasy, some erotica, romance, and paranormal. I won this book for free from the Goodreads giveaway.
Funny, sexy, outspoken! Fast paced urban fantasy for adults that doesn’t leave anything to be desired (and doesn’t skimp on skin either), with edgy, easy-to-like characters, burning action, and interesting twists.
Sabrina isn’t just a rich party girl and scandal-magnet of modern day America, she is also a fairy. And she is in great danger, because someone is targeting fairies and he stops at nothing. Together with her friends – Cade, a just recently roused vampire and former army general; Moselle, a beautiful Egyptian princess who is also an ancient mummy; and Moselle’s human boyfriend Jackson who can barely cope with the world he has gotten himself into – Sabrina must quickly find out who is behind this scheme before it is too late for her best friend Mira. And for herself.
Vampires, elementals, mummies, werewolves. The all exist but they are not nice and fluffy, they are dark and they have teeth and forbidding powers. A fun adventure that leaves you wanting more. I’m off reading book two now!
Sabrina London was on top of the world until a video exposes her committing a crime. She loses so much but now she is working her way back up. She meets the mysterious Alexander who turn out to be an ancient immortal shaman. He is well into his plans of producing a drug that will apparently heal the epidemic plaguing the world. There is only one problem. The drug, known as dust, has a side effect of leaving the taker susceptible to mind control. Alexander wants to control the country. However, his drug needs a major supply of fairy wings, something Sabrina has. Alexander plans on taking hers by any mean possible.
There is one intriguing tale. It starts with action and never stops. Along with Sabrina, we meet a variety of paranormal individuals - her bodyguard, Mira, a water spirit, her best friend, a mummy and her lover, a vampire. Then we add in one human. With Mira captured, the four work together to keep Sabrina and her wings safe. I found the tale incredibly captivating and I did not want to put down the book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I am sure it will be just as amazing as One Smoking Hot Fairy Tail. Pick it up. You will be glad you did.
I was a women with out god before I saw my first photograph of mr Kevin James Breaux. Even just thinking his name in my head impregnated me with my three perfect triplet children, all of which of course were birthed from my abdomen fully formed much like Athena did from Zeus. Only natural for the demigod children of Mr Kevin James Breaux.
Not only did mr Kevin James Breaux cure me of both my lesbianism and my leprosy, reading his novel made me cry tears, tears of joy, of ecstasy and euphoria. These tears in their great magnitude flooded, nay! drowned, the street of Melbourne. This is, of course, the true source of our rising sea level and this marks the true beginning of Mr Kevin James Breaux new Earth in which we will all, black, white, or yellow, live in delicious euphoria together as one mind, one being named.....
If you’ve read and liked “To kill a Kingdom” then this is just perfect for you. Magical realism is filled in this story by Kevin James Breaux, titled “One Smoking Hot Fairy Tale.” This fictional piece of work consists of a lot of characters, a couple of them being the protagonists. The story is based on a scientist/ doctor, Alexander, and a fairy superstar, Sabrina. Alexander has the cure to a very disastrous disease that has become an epidemic in America. The cure, ‘dust’, is lacking an ingredient which is fairy wings. Once he gets them, whosoever will take the drug will be controlled by Alexander and that is his plan. To take over the country. Now, as it happens, dear Sabrina is taken hostage by Alexander and she wants to escape of course. To know whether this will happen, or she will lose her wings, ride this magical adventure and learn yourself.
Surprising and enthralling, this book is a very entertaining read. It will help any person take their mind off anything and be so mesmerized in this story. I adore the concept. How it has a tint of everything. Love, betrayal, fear, the lust of power, greed, usage, hope, trust, and the best being, magic. It's a five-star read. There is not one thing in this book that I found negative or inappropriate. The plot is twisted and magical and will make a lot of questions arise in your head. But hang in there, because you are going to love what you are reading. The execution and language are simple, easy to read for beginners, and won’t let you be bored. The author has rightly kept the story top-notch, not letting any part go pale.
I recommend this book to all the lovers of magical, stand-alone novels. This can hit a great hype if reaches the right readers. Therefore, get on to it and feel free to swamp my inbox with rants.
Wow, I managed to finish this before Thanksgiving break. With the amount of work my professors were giving me, I thought I was gonna have to put this on hold until after finals. But I did it!
Don't be discouraged by the 3-star rating (which I usually use to rate books that are on the 'just OK' spectrum, but not always). This is one of those books where it was good, but it just wasn't my cup of tea, you know? I actually blame that on how I had to constantly take involuntary breaks from it to focus on assignments and such. (Damn you, college professors, doing your job and shit.)
First, I really want to say that that the cover art is absolutely breathtaking. I applaud and bow down to the artist. I am not worthy . . . I am not worthy.
---
Here is a list of some things that made it lose a star or two for me besides being a college student and having responsibilities: a) The time placement was a little confusing at first, and I thought a better job couldn't been done about establishing exactly where we are in time. It through me off a little at the beginning. b) I just kinda thought it could use more tension overall. c) I didn't care for most of the secondary characters, mostly because we didn't spend enough time with them to have reason to care (i.e. Mira, etc), and I honestly thought Jackson was a pointless character. Mr. Breaux may have some bigger and important things for him in future books, but here I just wished there was less page time for him, and more for just about anyone else.
That's all I can think of to write. It was far from a bad book, and I did like it, but I'm not too crazy about it.
It did take me a few days to read this book. Normally I can read a book this size in about 5 or 6 hours.
The story revolves around Sabrina and her with no other words for it pretty messed up life. She is a former Model/Hollywood it girl who is also a fairy that was disowned by her family and Hollywood due to a video of her taking part in a "crime of passion". Her undead boyfriend went to ground and she is now being hunted for her wings.
When Sabrina's bodyguard and friend Mira who is a water sprit/nymph is "killed/captured" by people wanting Sabrina's wings she has nobody to turn to except her best friend Moselle who is a mummy.
Moselle is dealing with her own issues involving falling in love with a human "Jackson", so they decide to unearth Sabrina's vampire boyfriend whose video got her into trouble in the 1st place.
When Sabrina is captured and Moselle and Jackson decide to go after. Things go from bad to worse until Cade shows up.
This book is entertaining however it leaves wondering what is going on at parts. It leaves questions at the end and even though it finishes "Sabrina's story" for the most part. It is left on a cliff hanger making you wonder what happened to Moselle, Jackson and Mira.
There are sexual aspects of this book that are steamy.
Overall interesting read and I would read again and would read books written by this author also.
All I can say is wow! This book has me wanting more and makes me want to know what happened to Jackson and Mira. My attention was all into this story and I had no idea the characters were going to hold so much power. Near the end of this story I felt as if my hands were burning from the heat of Sabrina's wings and I was able to visualize the brightness of them as well. Once again Kevin nails the book and visualization technique in order for his readers to better understand the book. Thank you Kevin for being such a talented writer and I can not wait until the next book comes out!
and I AM FOR REAL! to be a human and have to go to war with the supernatural Alexander Kintner while your only allies are your undead Egyptian girlfriend, a vampire and his fairy reality star girlfriend. and all for what? some wings? man, they coulda gone to KFC! luckily for all, Kintner kills with all the urgency of a Bond villain. you won’t BELIEVE this book, even AFTER you’ve read it. that good!
Been following this guy a few years. He's not my normal style writer or book, but he answers questions and is a nice guy so I keep reading his work and enjoying it. This is different from his past books but better in many ways. He seems to be getting more skilled. I look forward to more in this series.
Really had to push myself to finish this book. I just didn't care enough about the characters to really want to know how it ended. Bummer cause it was an interesting premise.
