After having eyesight surgery because of a car accident, young Koh Fujimura gains the ability to detect "wolves in sheeps' clothes" people and making a target for a sexy- eyeballs-serial-killer-collector.
Enter special team of busty detectives taking care of him... Oh good grief.
Storyline just sounds like something out from a ridiculous horny teenager wet dream and fan service/nudity level was just off-scale and unexpected, but there are some interesting ideas and creepy disturbing scenes that saved the day making this one an at last interesting read.

Interesting start of a story set in a crime-ridden and violent Japan where people are different and of course our hero is the lynchpin for identifying them and should be a nice read so let's find out by Keep on Reading.

I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Another new one for me. I second guessed myself seeing the cover, thinking it was going to be ecchi. There is a lot of pointless nudity so no desktop reading on this one. Not when I'm at work. It was interesting with Kou's eye sight. Shame on the doctor. Unsure about the three cops at the moment. I'm curious how this one will play out. At the moment it looks like method of death is their head.

Surprisingly for my first Manga book this was really good and kept me throughly entertained. The graphics were spot on with the storyline. Absolutely will be continuing the series.

Butt and panty shots. Surely, these people are obsessed. I don't mind sexuality when it helps the story, but here it's gratuitous. So, what's it gonna be? Is this erotica or crime fiction? Either way, the main premise has yet to get a scientific explanation. Ultimately, the story has potential.

Kuh Fujimura goes through surgery for an injury to his eyes. While recuperating, he is attacked by Karen Kirishima the serial killer who mentions he is a threat for 'us' - whoever that is. Thankfully, a trio of armed women save him, but then disappear before the authorities show up. Lola's body is also not found, though there are bloody footprints heading away from where she fell out the window. Kuh is soon released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. He is surpised how much his eyesight has improved, though he was wearing glasses before. Then the unexpected happens - he sees an individual with what appears to be a kid's scribbling covering his head. Before he can snap out of it, the trio of girls who saved him show up.

The trio allows him to run away. His panic is soon replaced by curiosity after seeing another person with a scribbled head. He is led to a house where the whole family was brutally murdered. Kuh hides behind the couch until the killer returns, plops down in front of the TV and calmy eats ramen. Eventually, he leaves which allows Kuh to report the murders anonymously.

Kuh tries to phone home, but is kidnapped by Karen's men. The trio from before follow and ram Karen's car, forcing her to retreat once more. Yui of the trio reveals they are cops hunting serial killers they call 'cheaters'. They reunite only to find Karen surrounded by more fresh corpses. She tries to strike at them with an axe, but gets shot and killed instead.

The trio take Kuh to their chief Kokonoe. He reveals that the goal of the unit is to hunt serial killers. The latter have the killing instinct in their DNA, as well as super-strength. The trio can detect their DNA, but not to the extent Kuh can. For this reason, Kokonoe doesn't allow Kuh to return home. Instead he must live with the trio in a hotel. For some strange reason, they are shown naked in the last few pages. One of them even reveals herself to Kuh. It adds nothing to the story, but it's boobs, so thumbs up!

Serie manga que consiste en 8 volúmenes. Para no arruinar mi conteo en GoodReads solo subiré el tomo 1 de las colecciones manga en lugar de subir toda la serie.

Este manga lo leí ya que amo el manga de "Cage of Eden" y al ser del mismo autor obvio tenia que darle una oportunidad. Estaba esperanzado de que continuara cage of eden y al parecer si lo esta haciendo. Pienso esto por que un personaje aparece en ambos mangas, así que aun tengo esperanzas.
Esta es un historia policíaca sobre la persecución de unos seres llamados "Cheaters", los cuales son brutales asesinos seriales. Que se esconden entre los humanos, hasta que Kou Fujimura el personaje principal, debido a un accidente desarrolla un "poder" que le permite reconocerlos a simple vista.
Con esto ahora forma parte de los "Experts", división policíaca que esta encargada del arresto de los "Cheaters".
La trama se va complicando cada vez mas, pero todo es explicado al final.
El autor actualmente esta trabajando en otro manga, espero continue un poco con la trama de este.

A gritty and gory crime manga with a supernatural twist.

This first volume of Deathtopia is not for the faint of heart. It is packed cover to cover gore, crime, supernatural baddies and a trio of kick ass leading ladies. Yoshinobu Yamada does not shy away from the full rated r experience and loads the story with all sorts! The fundamental storyline is highly intriguing, stopping this from just being an unbridled gore fest. The only reason i’m dropping a star from the full five is that a small number of panels felt unnecessary. That could be me missing the relevance but it detracted ever so slightly for me.

Yoshinobu has created a superb manga that is a true fan service series. It has everything you would expect from a manga books from guns and guts to a little bit of boob and supernatural craziness.

If you are looking for a new crime manga with tradinational manga values then give Deathtopia a crack! Even better, if you have Kindle Unlimited, it’s FREE!

Very interesting first volume of this series. I enjoy the premise a lot. It really is something that has been theorized before, the killer gene, and it will be interesting to see where they will be going with this.
The art style is gorgeous and highly detailed. The gore is there, but in my opinion is not too excessive, though the nudity in the last chapter of this volume surprised me a bit. I didn't see it coming.

Це якась рандомна хрінь, яка сценарієм нагадує фільм категорії Б: майже весь екшн відбувається поза кадрами, персонажі поводяться нелогічно, періодично в сцени пролазять оголені цицьки та дупи, але в рамках силіконової еротики. І цей недософткор використовує дуже популярний штамп: головний герой має надздібності і потрапляє на службу до таємної урядової організації, яка проти чогось бореться. Цього разу боротьба йде проти людей з “атавізмами”: генетичними силами пращурів, які не встигла відібрати еволюція. Ну, наприклад, в людинки залишилась регенерація. Нажать, оті люди з “атавізмами” - справжні маніяки. І з ними треба боротися. В головного героя теж є “атавізм” (аякже ж!) - він може бачити таких людей (привіт, “Вони живуть”, давно не бачилися), бо для нього їх обличчя дивним чином розмиті і складаються у якісь символи (це якшо дуже придивитись). Коротше, далі, думаю, зрозуміло: герой з обов’язковими дівчатами-коліжанками шука поганців і періодично ніяковіє від цицьок. Показ цицьок нормовано. Маніяки бажають хлопаку смерті, коліжанки поки що відносяться до нього з підозрою, начальство може прописати щелбанів.

Вагаюся, чи продовжувати читати.

This manga opens with "In Japan alone, around 700 cases of violent crimes occur each year", a statement that seems off by at least one order of magnitude. But the premise is set - this is a story about the instigators of said violent crime.

Koh Fujimura gains the ability to see impending threats after his eyes are injured following a car accident. He soon finds that his eyes act as basically serial killer detectors, and so he ends up on the wrong side of a femme fatale-esque serial killer who begins to hunt him down. A special team of ridiculously attractive women attempt to intercept the killer and save Fujimura, leading to a cat and mouse chase across the rest of this volume. The story is pulpy in quality and pretty shallow, clearly meant to be an exercise in drawing some mature scenarios while trying to weave a semblance of a plot around the nudity. It's pretty fun but dumb stuff, and I'll probably continue on because of how low commitment of a read this feels like it will be.

Ce manga souffre de deux défauts qui ne me donnent pas particulièrement envie de continuer la série. En premier lieu, une prémisse très originale, où les crimes violents/ injustifiés sont commis par des créatures, dans notre cas, des humains ayant retrouvés des capacités perdues dans l'évolution. Et bien sûr, notre héro se retrouve propulsé dans le secret après un accident, on sent une grande inspiration de Tokyo Ghoul, Ajin, Devil's Line, de la figure du vampire et du monstre déguisé en humain de manière général. En second lieu, le fan service... Je n'ai pas l'habitude de m'en plaindre, mais le manga en a un usage assez grossier. Était-ce nécessaire de mettre une fille à la mini-jupe soulevée par le vent en premier plan de la couverture, et le personnage principal en noir et gris à peine visible derrière ?

TLDR : Malgré un style agréable et une bonne structure, la promesse n'est pas originale et le fan service un peu trop irréaliste à mon goût.

I like the story plot, the art (the city scenes are epic) and some of the writing, however the the delivery and packaging is hard to overlook. Im sure there’s something cultural that im missing with the overly dramatized sexuality aspect thats in a-lot of Japanese anime and manga, its just not for me. They also have this reverse harem idiot male protagonist thing they always donthats also not great.

Personally this would of been top without the nonsense

Monstrous serial killer, enigmatic monster hunters and a normal guy who has a particular gift to see these monsters. The plot is simple but effective. The sexual exploitation of the female body (nude scenes not necessary) is a major problem here. The violence is gore and graphic but stays in the limit of a classic thriller. For adults.

dipping my toe into proverbial smut pool.

I’m not sure what the ideal ratio is for weeby main character insert, to over the top violence, to boobs.

I come down on the side of the artwork of the violence and its aftermath are at least creative.

Idk if I’ll keep this up. Probably not until I find myself in those headspace’s of vapid depravity.

Interesting characters and strong writing. However not as good as Cage of Eden. The book picks a standard call to action for the hero but add the typical Japanese sexy women haram who don`t actually like him but will eventually fall in love with him.

I’ve read several comic books, but read very few manga. The story line, and the art are so gripping. Wish I could read it like the other regular comics where each panel is zoomed out and comes one after the other. Excellent book either ways!!

I feel like this should have much better reviews!! I throughly enjoyed the storyline, very compelling. Some people were complaining about the nudity but I think it’s kind of fun and adds another element to the character dynamics. I’m very excited to continue the story!!

Ughhh, this most likely might be just trash but the idea of the MC being able to identifying killers is an interesting plot. Now I wonder why he got this power, hopefully they reveal it later. Also please stop with the fan service, the plot has some inklings of potential. So I will wait and see.

Interesting concept. Young man who recognizes alien imposters when no one else can. He is found by a special team of police organized to fight the aliens. It’s anime so the team are three nubile young women.
