The Easter Bunny's Bear is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW bear shifter romance. No cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
Lisa is a bunny shifter who owns a pony farm and longs for someone who wouldn't be afraid to accept her shifter side and would be willing to undertake the hard work involved in maintaining a farm. Desmond is hunting a dangerous shifter criminal and rents a room in Lisa's farm in the meanwhile.
When danger strikes Lisa realises that a bunny is not an useless animal to turn into as she has always believed and even the smallest of animals can create plenty of havoc to defend their own.
Unlike most shifter romances it's not a love at first sight story. They find each other attractive but don't have the "instant" mate connection. All in all a sweet and cute shifter romance.
This was a very good story. I liked both Lisa and Desmond and enjoyed their story.
Lisa is a bunny shifter who owns a pony farm that she inherited from her Grandparents and loves with all her heart. Lisa's Grandparents were shifters but no one else in her family was so Lisa knows little about shifters. Lisa attempted to find love before but the one relationship that got serious, fell apart when she told him she was a shifter (he was human). Lisa hasn't really attempted a relationship since then.
Desmond is a bear shifter that grew up in a shifter family that works in lumber. Desmond doesn't work for the family business though...he's spent most of his youth acting as a bounty hunter/policeman for the shifter counsel that polices the shifter community. Desmond hasn't had any real relationships because he's always travelling and never found his fated mate.
The book description actually does pretty well at giving the basics of the story. Lisa and Desmond have a strong attraction when they meet but shifter don't always recognize other shifters so they don't realize they're both shifters until later. I do like how that comes out though...it worked out well and was even a bit humorous. The werewolf pack that Desmond is after does cause some problems but it works out well and the encounter even helps Lisa in some ways. In the end, things are resolved nicely, with Lisa and Desmond solidly together and well on their way to a HEA.
This was a very enjoyable story. It was pretty short but the story felt complete, with a good resolution. Lisa was a good heroine. She was smart and brave enough to do what was needed without her actions seeming out of character. Desmond was a really good hero and I liked him. Strangely enough, them being a bunny and bear seemed to work out better than expected, pairing small and clever with big and brawny and I liked it. Overall, this was a very good story and I'd recommend it. :)
What an adorable little story! The author took us on an adventure to capture the bad guys, but still managed to build us this cute little farm filled with peace and happiness. The perfect place for a bear to find his mate. I truly enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.
I was looking for a good Easter story to read and I found "The Easter Bunny's Bear." Zoe Chant really did an AWESOME job on her Easter story. I really loved how she used a bunny shifter to stay in sinc with Easter. It was truly a inspiring story. Plus she used a different take on shifters and I thought that her coming up with the possibility that in some instances the shifter genes skipped generations as it did in this story. Now coming up with new ideas and takes on the paranormal love story is what keeps the readers reading. Way to go Zoe!!!!! I think everybody that is a mature reader of 18 or older should read this incredible story. I am glad I did.
Lisa Wilson is not only curvy and cute in her own right, but she is a bunny shifter and who wants a bunny shifter? She knew she should be happy with herself, but it was hard. Even tho Lisa was happy running her own farm and sharing it with the children who came to visit her ponies, she had no one to make her happy and to share her life with. Her mother calls and is sending a young man out to stay at her farm because she had no room for him at her inn. When the mysterious, and sexy Desmond Brown arrives for his room, she's instantly drawn to him. Of course she has the right to dream about him, because she knew from past experience that once she shows her bunny they run and her heart has already been broken before and she couldn't risk it again, or can she? What are the chances that Desmond will still love her if he finds out that she turns into a bunny?
Desmond Brown is a bear shifter who hunts down shifter criminals for a living. He has dedicated his life to this dangerous for many years, and now he wants out. He has been yearning for a home and family. He wants to finish this one last job before he leaves the hunting life. Then he can search for a mate in order to make a home and family for his bear. Then as luck would have it, fate leads him to Lisa's pony farm where his bear immediately recognizes his mate and won't let him forget it.
In his search for the criminal werewolves they some how figure out he is on their trail and they close in on him. Desmond isn't the only one who's in danger now. Can he protect his Lisa and her farm against the crazed werewolf Carter and his entire pack? Will Lisa be brave enough to accept her bunny and follow her heart to save her beloved bear?
I love the diversity of Zoe Chant’s work, whether lighthearted or intensely suspenseful, I know I’m in for a great story. The Easter Bunny’s Bear is a perfect example of what I mean.
I adored Desmond. He’s a man of honor, a man who has given his best in order to keep humans and other shifters safe from the criminals that lie deep within any society. It’s been his job for years to bring these scumbags to justice – but this is his last job. He and his bear are looking for home, for a mate for something good in life besides the knowledge that people are safe because of his actions. He didn’t expect to find his mate on the farm where he rented a room for a week while he searched the area for his last capture. But his bear knew and was delighted. Desmond was a bit more cautious but deep down he knew that Lisa was the one for him. His instinct is to protect Lisa until this job is done. He doesn’t want to bring her into danger because of what he does for a living — but that decision will be taken out of his hands.
Lisa loves her farm, the ponies, her stallion even the herd of sheep out in the meadows. Giving joy to the kids who come to visit or stay at her farm have given Lisa a good life. If maybe she’d wished for more, she’s learned to keep that to herself. She’s a bunny shifter and the one time she revealed that fact to a lover, he ran for the hills. So, she had no great expectations in the romance department – but when Desmond showed up to rent a room she couldn’t help the attraction she felt for this kind, sexy man – and she didn’t hold back either, she was going to enjoy this flirtation or whatever it was as long as she could because who would want a bunny shifter for the long term? So she’d take today and enjoy.
Lisa and Desmond’s romance is lighthearted, charming and certainly smokin’ hot. When danger arrives Lisa is just as important as Desmond is in getting the situation under control. They work so well together, and their future is going to be amazing.
If you’re in the mood for some light shifter romance reading, with a sexy guy and an adorable lady then go pick up The Easter Bunny’s Bear. You’ll come away with a smile on your face that’s for sure.
Beautiful and curvy, Lisa Wilson was a rabbut shifter, who ran her own farm. She loved seeing the happiness on the children's faces, when they visited her ponies.
Despite everything, Lisa felt lonely. Then a sexy as sin, mysterious man, Desmond Brown needed a room to stay. The attraction between Lisa and Desmond was instant, but she already been hurt in the past. Could she go through that kind of pain again?
Desmond Brown was a bear shifter and a bounty hunter, he had one last job, he needed to take care of before he settled down. But fate had other plans for him.
Desmond and his bear knew that Lisa was their mate, the moment they saw her. As things started to be headed in the right direction between, him and Lisa. Their lives are put in danger.
As Desmond found himself trapped by a pack of werewolves, Lisa and her bunny did everything in their power to safe their mate. Together Lisa and Desmond gave the criminals, a run for their money.
THE EASTER BUNNY'S BEAR was well paced, action packed and beautifully written. Zoe Chant did a fabulous job.
Of the books I've read by Zoe Chant I like this one the best. When you hear the word shifter, wolves, bears and cats come to mind but not in Lisa's case. She's a werebunny. That's right a bunny, small and fluffy verry fierce. It makes it very hard to find a mate (they either laugh or runaway screaming, poor girl). Things perk up when her mother sends a guest her way. Desmond is a werebear enforcer for the shifter council. He's tracking down a rouge wolf pack when he meets Lisa. His bear is screaming at him that she is their mate. Desmond is trying to keep his bear in check around her. He has to track down the pack and turn them in to face council justice. But there's something about Lisa that makes him realize how lonely he is and he wants a life, with her. He just has to figure out how to tell her he's a shifter. Desmond gets captured by the wolf pack and it's up to the Easter bunny to rescue her big bad bear.
Cute book. She’s a bunny shifter that runs her own farm and thinks she won’t ever find love. Desmond is a bear shifter that is basically a shifter bounty hunter. They meet when he is set to stay on her farm. Sparks fly between the two. They end up finding that they are both shifters by accident, a happy coincidence. The rogue wolf pack that Desmond is sent there to find is causing him problems and they end up capturing him. So she sets out to find her mate.
I love that a bunny shifter saves the day, so cute. This was a sweet and safe read. No om or ow drama, which I appreciated. A little bit of action and excitement. We do get a creative proposal and a hfn. No epilogue, but hopefully next time *hint, hint*.
This was the funniest but most adorable book. I'm glad Zoe made this book about a bunny and bear being destined mates. Never under estimate a woman protecting her own. Let's not leave out sir Lancelot. Desmond has this one last job before he retires with the council. Lisa vowed to live on her grandparents farm and take care of it. When these two come together and fight off a dangerous werewolves clan it's a hoot. A quick read to relax you and perfect for the Easter holiday.
Cute read, which you can expect having a bunny shifter in it. But not only cute, since there is enough action in it too, thanks to the evil werewolves and the bear shifter from the council who is staying at her house. He happens to be her mate.
I like the honey moment in the book, shakes head at the bear.
For a short story this book has a lot of action and a sweet sexy romance. Lisa is a bunny shifter filled with courage and a huge heart, but unlucky in love. Desmond has spent his adult life as an enforcer never looking for a mate. Together they sizzle and so does this tale.
Aw, super cute were bunnies, and bears and wolves (with a lion thrown in). Well, okay, the situation is cute with a dejected were-bunny expecting no one will want her (taking history into account). A standard, charming Zoe Chant romance with sweet characters, not angsty or too violent - good for when you don’t want TOO too much, and a happy ending. :-)
Being the only shifter in the family after the death of her grandparents this little bunny takes over their farm and keeps it running as a pony riding camp for families. Then comes a handsome man to stay in he last open room. He is looking for some outlaw shifters and finds his mate. Fun read.
This was a fun story. Lisa is a bunny who has a farm with ponies and Desmond is a bear looking for some trouble making werewolves. Neither expected to find their mate.
This story has a moderate pace, an upbeat tone, fun scenes, steamy scenes, well defined characters and a little action. It was a very cute fun little read. Enjoy!
I wondered how a bunny was going to fit into an interesting story. I should know by now that Zoe would have a perfect way to make an excellent story! It was great! Romantic, suspenseful and perfect. It's nice to read a story where the characters take time to trust one another even when they don't have all the facts.
A bear and a bunny. This story was not what I expected, it was better. I story that makes you believe that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Where's the next one
A lovely read for the Easter weekend. Full of love, a bunny, ponies, bears and even wolves. It's a great story which will put a smile on your face and steam your glasses.
A ridiculously sweet and fun enjoyable read through KU. Loved how smart Lisa was in helping Desmond. Have read other books linked with the council characters but don’t think they are serialised.
For my second foray into Kindle novellas, this one definitely went a lot smoother.
Even given the short story format, the author still managed to flesh out the characters and tell a decent story. The mystery and suspense aspect was well executed, adding another layer to the story and to the main characters' relationship. The romance, meanwhile, was sweet but thankfully not over the top. Yes, the main characters did fall into an almost insta-love trope, but here, it was more believable and just overall worked better for me. For one thing, the characters were adorable together without being over-the-top nauseatingly sweet, and they actually had some time in which to get acquainted (not much, but some). And for another, Desmond had already made up his mind from the start that tracking down Carter and the rogue wolves was going to be his last job for the Shifter Council; he was looking to retire somewhere with a mate and some cubs of his own. Also, while he and Lisa do eventually figure out that they're fated-to-be-mated, their connection was not instantaneous.
This didn't work for me on any level. It felt longer than it was at only a little over a 100 pages, and the shifter info didn't seem to be well thought out or at least not explained well.
Lisa is a bunny shifter, but the only people in her line that were shifters before her were her grandparents a fox and dog shifter. Her parents were not shifters, so how did she happen to be a bunny shifter in the line of a fox and dog. It's very confusing.
Then it was alluded that if she had children with Desmond they would be cubs or kits, but how would you know if it's the luck of the draw and they could possibly be completely human since whichever of her parents was born to her shifter grandparents weren't shifters.
