Evonne Blanchard was born and raised in England. She met her husband, an American whilst they were both volunteering at a children's orphanage in Guatemala. The writer lives north of Boston, Massachusetts with her husband and their two daughters, Lydia and Gwendolyn. Other additions to the household include a crazy puppy called Bailey, a lovely cat called Arthur, and lots of fish!

The author has been fascinated by space ever since she was a little girl; mesmerized by clips of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the moon. As a teenager, War of the Worlds, by H.G Wells became one of her favorite books and Mars Attacks is her favorite movie!

When it came to creating her own aliens, the author decided on the warm and fuzzy type, rather than the war-like Martians. Uglesnoo, her main alien character is from Pluto. He's very friendly and nice but a little crazy too! So began Amelia's Amazing Space Adventures, starring Amelia and her alien friend Uglesnoo.

Uglesnoo’s sister is very sick. The only cure is a repelling crystal from Neptune. To obtain the crystal Amelia and Uglesnoo must travel to the Moon, Sun and all the planets in the solar system.

The author is currently working on the fourth book in the series, Amelia, the Snapperjacks and the Molten Maze. This book is set on the Sun. How will Amelia and Uglesnoo manage to land on the boiling hot Sun, trade with the aliens, find the jars of Snapperjack honey and continue their quest to save Uglesnoo's sister? Find out in Amelia's next amazing space adventure!

My daughter (8 years old) loved this book. She has read it several times and keeps it in her bed for a nighttime read. This book is incredibly imaginative with great animated pictures. Since reading the book, my daughter has been asking lots of questions about the stars, planets, and space. This book is fun way to get your child interested in science.

I highly recommend this book for 5 to 9 year olds, both boys and girls.

Another amazing Amelia book. We loved the first book, Amelia the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace. This second book is even better. Highly imaginative and a high turner. Amelia lands on Venus with her alien friend Uglesnoo. They have to get bliss bubbles as part of their quest. But the local aliens are not cooperating! A fun and very entertaining read.

Fantastic follow up to the first book, Amelia the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace. Amelia and Uglesnoo land on Venus. But the natives are not friendly. They have to get bliss bubbles, but how will they manage with the Venutons and the other mysterious aliens thwarting them at every turn? Very creative and tons of fun. We look forward to the next book in the series!

This is a book which will take little space fans on a fantastic journey and never have them wanting to return to Earth.

Amelia is sleeping when Uglesnoo appears to help her find the cure for her sister. And a creature like Uglesnoo would be quite the shock to wake up to. They head out on a quest to find the Neptune crystal, which is sure to make her sister feel great in no time.

This is a fantasy packed book with so much fun that kids are sure to be swept away. Amelia runs into the most amazing creatures and situations, exactly the out-of-space kind which pushes a kid's fantasy to stretch further. The illustrations are very colorful and add the right amount of atmosphere. Not to mention, they're simply a joy to shuffle through and look at time and again.

The writing, amount of words and number of illustrations makes this a perfect book for young readers who are beginning to tackle 'bigger' reads after leaving the simpler picture books. The text doesn't seem as overwhelming with so many pictures thrown in. Plus, the adventure is light-hearted and exciting, making it an easy read which doesn't bog down.

Summed up, this is a fun space read perfect for kids 6+. Especially reluctant readers will enjoy the wonderful balance of text and illustrations. It'll be fun to see where Amelia lands next on her quest.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

So so fun and imaginative. I love Uglesnoo and his yellow feet and purple body. His ship with the machine to feed him and his way of just letting things go as they are only to see them work out in the end is fun.

The venutons remind me of the chesire cat with some personality of absolem. They were snarly when upset, the bubbles were what reminded me of Absolem. but the cat itself is the chesire cat in all ways. It is good to be wary of them.

IN this adventure Uglesnoo and Amelia are on their way to Venus for the bubbles to help get the crystal that will cure his sister. So off they go on this magical and fun adventure. The meet the cats and almost get hurt, are double crossed by the jackalope looking rabbits and have to rescue a venuton from coming with them.

the story is imaginative with fun vibrant pictures to bring the words to life. A story that is fun, imaginative and entertaining. The pictures not only convey the words but can tell their own story and adventure giving you two stories in one really.

A great fun adventure for everyone is found in this adventure of Uglesnoo and Amelia can’t wait for the next planet adventure.

In Amelia, the Venutons and the Golden Cage, Amelia heads out to an adventure along with her friend, the alien Uglesnoo. Uglesnoo’s sister is sick, and the only cure is a crystal from Neptune, but if they want to buy the crystal, they’ll have to land on Venus first and get some bliss bubbles.

Unfortunately, though, the inhabitants from Venus are anything but friendly – the Venutons want to stop them from getting their bliss bubbles and saving Uglesnoo’s sister.

What a creative, original story! This is one of he first kids books I’ve read that features aliens, but it’s amazing. The illustrations are cute and colorful. Based on the amount of text, I’d say this is an excellent read for young readers aged six and up. For younger kids, parents can read it to them, and with the pictures, they’ll surely be entertained.

A wonderful, entertaining space adventure. I look forward to the next book.

What a fun, charming book. This is the second book in this series but it can be read as a stand alone novel. I know I had no issues jumping right into this book and joining along with Amelia and Uglesnoo. These to were good together. They sure kept things entertaining with the out of this world characters they met and the situations they found themselves in. I read this book on my computer. The illustrations in this book were still very eye-catching and colorful. I like that they were simple without being too overcrowded. This way for the younger readers they will not be distracted by too much going on in the pictures. Also, I found reading this book to be easy for the younger readers to read without too much interaction from the adults. A book worth checking out for the young readers.

I work part time as a nanny and read this book to my three kids and they loved it. The illustrations were beautiful and the story was clever and funny. We hadn't read the first book, so the intro on the first two pages were slightly confusing and I had to check out out the first book, Amelia, the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace, to keep the story line clear. But they enjoyed both books and look forward to the more in the series.

Disclosure: I received this book free from a giveaway on goodreads.com.

Amerlia and Uglesnoo are the main characters in this adorable children's book. This books is the perfect science fiction book for young children. It has lots of cute pictures to keep children interested as well as a simple, yet interesting story line. The idea of a little girl going ti outer space to help her alien friend save his sister is very catchy especially as the two friends have to seek out different item so that they can buy a cure.

I was sent this book for free for only a honest and unbiased review.

As fun and entertaining as the first book in the series, Amelia the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace. The quest continues on the planet Venus. Amelia and her alien friend Uglesnoo have to track down bliss bubbles and deal with the angry Venutons, the crazy cat like creatures that live on Venus. Lots of fun! My kids can't wait until the next book comes out!

This is a really fun and wildly entertaining follow-up to the first book, Amelia the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace. The quest is well underway. Amelia and her alien friend Uglesnoo are on Venus and they are having trouble with the Venutons -catlike creatures - that live there. Lots of twists and turns keep kids and adults entertained! My kids are really looking forward to the third book - set on Mercury. This is great for kids ages 5-10. It's also a very fun and imaginative way to learn about the solar system.

Lovely
Amelia, the Venutons and the Golden Cage is a perfect continuation of Amelia's space adventures. Evonne Blanchard has created a world filled with vibrant planets, quirky aliens, and heart-pounding action. I loved Amelia's bravery and her loyalty to Uglesnoo. It shows that even a young girl can make a big difference in the universe. The mission to Neptune for the crystal is packed with excitement, and the challenges on Venus kept me glued to the pages. The story mixes friendship, adventure, and danger in the best way. It's a must-read for young readers who love space exploration! Totally recommended!

Great sequel to, Amelia the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace. It was even more fast paced than the first book. It was very imaginative and fun, also educational. My kids thought both books were hilarious. They've been asking about the third book in the series, so I've asked the author when it's coming out.

We received this book to give an honest review.
So I figured A would like to read this book but she wasn't very interested in it. So I decided to read this to K and he really did enjoy the book. He is already asking if there is another book to read as he wants to see what other items they are going to get from the other planets. The pictures are very bright and colorful and I think the children will enjoy looking at them. K and I really laughed at the Venutons because they were so big and colorful that you could cuddle with them if you didn't get on their bad side.
Uglesnoo and Ameila are both on a mission to Venus to get bliss bubbles as part of the items they need to help Uglesnoo's sister who is sick but what happens when the Venutons wake up?
Just open this book and find out if they will get the item they need before they can move on.
We plan on reading book one as K did ask me how did the two friends meet, why are they exactly going on these missions and so forth.

Although this is the second book in a series, it is easily read as a stand-alone story. It would be a wonderful choice for young readers who want a book that is more challenging than a picture book, but who aren't quite ready for chapter books.

The illustrations are bright and colorful, bringing the story to life on each page. There is more text per page than on a simple picture book, but not so much that it would be overwhelming for the young reader.

The theme of this book makes it a great tool for nurturing a young child's interest in science or outer space. It could lead to discussions, research, and lots of learning. If I were still teaching kindergarten, I would definitely use this series as a lead in to a science lesson.

This series was recommended to me by a friend of mine, whose is an elementary school teacher. My kids (daughter and son, ages 6 & 8) loved both books. We started off with Amelia, the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace, which was great fun. This second book is also very creative, full of humor and adventure. Amelia and her alien friend Uglesnoo land on Venus. The Venutons are some crazy cat-like aliens that live there. They have to get bliss-bubbles as part of their quest. This proves to be very difficult. A page turning adventure follows. It kept my kids very entertained. I also enjoyed it too. Extra bonus, kids learn about the s

The 2nd book in Amelia's Adventure series is just as wonderful as the first! There are many fascinating ideas in this story and the pictures are awesome. My kids love it and have read it many times. My favorite part is the "IF" machine, the Interspecies Feeder", but you will have to pick up the book to find out more. Enjoy!

I enjoyed this book so much. Its one of my favorite children books, its so imagainative and such a good way to teach children about space without boring them to death. I can't wait for the third book to come out and to find out if they get the cure for Uglesnoo's sister!

This second book in the series is so much fun! It can be read as a stand alone book, although I think it's helpful reading the first book beforehand. In this book Amelia and Uglesnoo, her alien friend travel to Venus. They need to get bliss bubbles as part of a quest to save Uglesnoo's sister, who's very sick. But the Venutons (cat-like creatures) that live on Venus are far from friendly. They end up fleeing from the Venutons and having all sorts of problems with IF machines and other mysterious aliens. This book is so creative and funny! My kids were constantly laughing at all their escapades. Plus point, kids learn all about the solar system, as they travel along with Amelia and Uglesnoo.

This is the second book in Amelia's Amazing Space Adventures series. As a dad to two girls, I really like that the main character is a clever and resourceful young girl. These books make space seem like a lot of fun. In this second book, Amelia and her alien friend, Uglesnoo must travel to Venus. Before they can get there, they get mixed up with a crazy interspecies feeder which turns Amelia bright pink. My girls loved that!!! Once there, they have to deal with the crazy Venutons, grumpy cat creatures that live there. There are several misunderstandings that result in another crazy adventure, as Amelia and Uglesnoo try to gather all the bliss bubbles. My girls found the book hilarious and very entertaining!

This book is so much fun! This is a great sequel to the first book in the series, (Amelia, the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace). In this book Uglesnoo- a friendly alien from Pluto- and Amelia an eight year old girl travel to the planet Venus. There they meet Venutons, cat-like aliens and the strange Gulats. They have to collect bliss bubbles as part of the quest, but all does not go as planned...Very well written, creative and very entertaining just like the first book in the series. Younger children (4-6) will enjoy the story being read to them, whilst the older ones (7-10) will enjoy reading this adventure that literally takes them out of this world!

This nice story has the perfect balance between thrilling sci-fi action and light hearted humor for kids. Amelia is such an adorable character. She's brave but also human in her fears and doubts. Uglesnoo adds a lot of charm with his alien quirks, and their adventures on Venus are full of suspense.
The quest to save Uglesnoo’s sister by retrieving a rare crystal from Neptune is an exciting premise, and Blanchard delivers with twists and surprises. I also loved the subtle life lessons woven into the story about loyalty, bravery, and problem-solving. This book is sure to captivate kids and leave them eager for the next adventure!

Great sequel to the first book in the series! This second book had the kids and I totally hooked from start to finish. Amelia and Uglesnoo continue their quest to save his sister. They have to travel to Venus to get the bliss bubbles. But the Venutons - the aliens that live there -are not friendly. A crazy adventure on Venus follows. I thought the book was well written and very creative just like the first book and also hilarious! My kids keep re-reading both this and the first book. We are really looking forward to the third book in the series!

I absolutely adored Amelia, the Venutons and the Golden Cage. The bond between Amelia and Uglesnoo is at the heart of the story, and it’s touching to see how far they are willing to go to help Uglesnoo’s sister.
The dangers they encounter on Venus add suspense, but there are also moments of humor that make the story light and fun. Evonne Blanchard has created such a rich universe, and I felt like I was traveling through space with Amelia. This is more than just a sci-fi adventure; it’s a heartwarming tale about friendship, courage, and never giving up.

This second book in Amelia's Amazing Space Adventures series is a fun, fast-paced read. Amelia and her alien friend Uglesnoo are off on another dangerous quest, and their teamwork is inspiring. The book is easy to follow, even if you haven’t read the first one, which is a plus for kids. However, I would have liked to see more character development for Uglesnoo.
I think the plot is engaging, especially with the obstacles they face on Venus. The author’s descriptions of alien worlds are vivid and fun. Kids who love space and adventure stories will enjoy this one!

What a story! We had a lot of fun reading it. I think this is a very good story to read at bedtime. I loved Amelia, the Venutons and the Golden Cage! Amelia and Uglesnoo go on a super cool adventure to save Uglesnoo's sister, and they have to get a special crystal from Neptune. But Venus is really dangerous with scary aliens. I liked how brave Amelia was, and the story was so exciting that I didn’t want to stop reading it with my kid. It’s a really fun book, and we can’t wait to read the next one!

This book was really exciting! Amelia helps her friend Uglesnoo go on a mission to save his sister. They have to go to Venus, and there’s a lot of danger, which made the story super interesting. I liked all the different aliens and how they worked together. I think some parts were a little confusing, but overall, it’s a great book if you like space adventures. My nieces loved reading it and we spent a really nice time reading together. Absolurely recommended!
