Book One in the Immortal Ops World Spin Off Shadow Agents / PSI-Ops! Shapeshifter Military Paranormal Romance
Total surrender doesn't come easy to a natural-born alpha. Shape-shifting Special Operative Brad Durant has been held against his will by the enemy for nearly a year.
He's given up hope and is fast giving up his will to survive--that is, until a hot-tempered, redheaded succubus is placed in the cell next to his. She calls to his wolf on a primitive level and he won't let anyone or anything harm her. Giving his body to the little minx is easy, but guarding his heart is much harder.

For me this is much better than the last book I read from the Immortal Ops Universe. It showed a little of Brad and Alice's past and how they come to meet each other and not just have the insta lust and have sex right away.. I miss some of the PSI-Ops banters but oh well this is the start of a new series Shadow Agents.
The Immortal Ops Universe is getting bigger and bigger and it feels like were not even in the half of it🤔🤔
Once again Ms. Roth creates a powerful romance with plenty of adventure to go with it. We met Brad and Alice in Meg and Corbin's story. Alice's succubus side needs to be fed so she is at a frat party hoping to do so when she gets wind of another paranormal there. She can read his thoughts and he is up to no good. Suddenly she is darted and everything goes black. Brad is a wolf who is on a safari with his friends Vic and Kimberly when he to gets darted. The Corporation got him and shot him full of so many drugs that his wolf is stronger and harder to control. And that is just the beginning of this story.
I love PSI-OPS series and all the connecting OP series stories as well. I am looking forward to the next one. I was given an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this one as it resolved a few outstanding plot strands. Brad, captured along with Kim and Vic during Wilson’s capture period in the South American jungle, has been moved to a new facility after the last one was raided. He’s been a hostage for over a year and is struggling with the genetics drugs they’re giving him. In the previous book, Mae escapes along with Corbin, but her best friend Alice is still held there. This is Brad and Alice’s story, though it also leads into the online auctions of supernaturals, introduces a Doctor and a Shadow Agent Ezra and see Bill and Gus - Immortal Outcasts - enter the first. I love those guys, they’re great fun, sweet and also dangerous. Another good instalment. Sexy, funny, brutal and action-packed.
Received this as an ARC for honest review. And WOW! Once I picked this up I found I couldn't put it back down. So make sure you have some free uninterrupted time, cause believe me your gonna want, nope scratch that, Your going to NEED to keep reading this to find out what happens next. Mandy M Roth has gone above and beyond with this book. I truly recommend you read this.
This is Brad Durant's story, and if you follow this series you will remember we have met Brad twice before. Briefly in Wilson and Kimberly's story and again recently at the end of Corbin and Mae's story.
Kidnapped while in the jungle about a year ago, Brad had been injected with god knows what, chained up by silver and beaten within an inch of his life, but he denies to be broken. They have tried to get Brad to breed with females with no avail, even with all the drugs they have put in his system to help along, he and his wolf have fought it and sometimes it has been a hard fight. That is until a spitfire with curves in all the right places and who smells of Strawberries and mint was placed into the cell next to his. He wanted her and her alone, more than any woman he had ever wanted.
Unknown to her at the time , Alice had been kidnapped the same night as her best friend, while she was at a college party feeding her "Inner harlot", her succubus side with raw sexual energy, Alice watched some guy come in and felt he was all wrong, being able to read his thoughts made the hairs go up at the back of her neck. But as soon as he spotted her she tries to flee but feels a small pinch at the neck and next thing, it all goes dark. After being transferred to another building, she is put into a cell next to Brad and as soon as she see's him her Inner harlot shocks her to the core, demanding she wants him and him alone. But no more than five minutes after being placed into this cell all hell breaks loose and she and Brad find themselves thrust together and on the run. While on the run Alice and the harlot for the first time ever have come to an agreement they both want Brad. But Brad's trying to fight his feelings for Alice as he is frightened to death of what the monster's have made his wolf has become, but what the harlot wants the harlot gets!
This is another great edition to read, a spin off from the PSI-OPS. This book has everything and more packed in it. It's got bad guys, violence, alpha male lead who wants his woman, a kick ass female who takes no rubbish from anyone, steamy sexual encounters, funny as hell moments, especially when Bill and Gus grace us with an appearance, and of course a HEA.
Title: Wolf's Surrender Series: Shadow Agents/ PSI-Ops Destination: Book 1, 240 Pages, StandAlone Author: Mandy Roth Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PNR #WolfShifters #Succubus My Score: #5stars ☆☆☆☆☆
■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□ Ms . Mandy has written another hit, I swear to God Shadow Agent series is going to be mind boggling OMG I can't wait for Book 2. You always read Mandy humor in her characters, each one was made for the other and it is always explosive. It's been awhile since her last book came out "Act of Command" which happened to be in February 2016 it seemed so long ago we tend to forget a little bit and when I was reading at first I thought oh my god I've read this already but what Ms. Mandy did was she gave you like a blow-by-blow detail what happened before and then you continue on that's what she does with her books she continues on and it's so good. Brad Durant is a former Wolf Shifter in the Navy Seals, turning to be College Students, going on a trip with the class to a Rainforest in South America. Only for him and his buddy, Vic to be darted with drugs and captured, than taken. That was a whole year ago, Brad has been drugged, tested, tortured and beaten, God only knows what they injected him with, now they wanted him to breed, but he wouldn't no matter how much pain they inflicted, he still wouldn't give up.. No he had to survive, he had to find Vic. Then one day he had a vision or maybe he was dreaming, whatever the case his blood ran hot and his member stiffened.(Amazon said I couldn’t say the exact word). Alice Gladden is a succubus going to college. She loved being in college forever and frat parties to a Sexual Succubus is a feast. Then Alice was kidnapped by someone, could it be The Corporation. She also found out her roommate Mae was kidnapped at the same time. (That's Act of Command, Corbin and Mae story) Alice was given to a wolf shifter by Ezra a dragon-shifter who is undercover. Yes this book gets better and better as you read. I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Psi /Immortal Ops world is a great set of books. Each book expands upon characters that have been previously introduced, while giving us further insight in to the whole immortal world. This new spin off Shadow Agents series appears to be in the same vein as the others. I'm not entirely sure why it is a "new" series. We met Brad in a previous book and now got to fully understand what his upbringing was like trying to hide in plain sight. Parts of this book were a little confusing. Trying to keep track of who was holding who hostage, especially after one group kidnaps the hostages from another group was a bit much. But the appearance of Gus and Wild Bill was much needed comic relief. After this section of the book the continuity of time seemed to be a little off. This is evident by the information they give Brad and Alice about Mae. I still enjoy this Immortal Ops World and will continue to read it.
i pretty enjoyed this one. it was adventurous and quirky. The characters were interesting. But when it was on the roll, the story came somehow in a stop, ending so fast. was it because of its part 1? with that i will be looking for part 2....
Wolf’s Surrender begins the Shadow Agents series within the Immortal Ops World with a stunningly intense story full of dangerous situations and a couple finding their mates in a most unexpected setting.
Part of what I love about these combined series is that while we may not know all of a secondary character’s story when we first meet, we will run into them again at some point to continue the overall arch of the series. And that’s exactly what happens in Wolf’s Surrender… we’re going back to the jungle compound where Weston was held for so long and where Mae with Corbin escaped from but left behind Mae’s friend Alice for reasons you’d discover through reading Act of Command (nope, I’ve let enough out of the bag).
Alice is a succubus who feeds off of sexual energy. The same night that Mae was stood up by Corbin and kidnapped – so was Alice when she went to a frat party, felt off about some men there, and got hit by a knock-out dart. When she awakens, she’s certainly not in her college town anymore.
Brad has been held by evil incarnate creatures of The Corporation for about a year now, or it might be if Brad were able to keep track of time. The beatings and the experimental drugs he’s been used to test often makes the time a very fuzzy concept. Yet when Alice is deposited in the cell next to him only one thing matters – get her to safety and kill those who dared harm her.
Wolf’s Surrender really gives the reader a taste of what it’s like to be held captive for experimentation by the enemy. We’re aware of their atrocities in all stories, but sometimes that is brought to the forefront in painful details. What Brad has gone through this past year no average man could have survived, and at this time, Brad and his wolf are very close to the final breaking point. With Alice’s arrival, Brad knows she is his mate, and together they’ll make their escape from this torture or die trying.
I loved Alice. She’s a spitfire, strong, stubborn, and not afraid of anything… even when she should be. She is the perfect match for Brad as together they plan and execute their escape. Wolf’s Surrender is intense, it’s painful to read at times, but it is also an amazing story of not only the bond between Alice and Brad but of survival as well. I was completely wrapped up in this story, and it is an excellent introduction to the Shadow Agents series part of this world.
3.5 stars. Enjoyable but nothing exciting really happens to move the background story on. This is one of those series that you need to have a basic understanding of to get the full benefit of this book. Though a new spin off series, it is very tightly tied in with the IMMORTAL OPS books. Another extremely short story that leaves things unanswered. That makes three in a row. Luckily the price reflected the brevity. Very pleased to get the follow on from ACT OF COMMAND and read Alice and Brads story. We are getting a different division started, Shadow Ops, of which this is book one. This means we do not get as much interaction and the expected humorous antics with the PSI Ops group but I am sure with the connections between, Alice, Mae and Brad there will be further get togethers. We do at least get a few of the nasty guards getting their just desserts and once again Bill and Gus steal the show. Would have liked more information about Alice’s other powers and seen Brad more settled with his wolf side. Having binge read a few of these as I am rereading them in chronological order, I am getting bored with the Corporation having the upper hand all the time. Even with jumping series our good guys seem to be losing all the time. One step forward, three steps back. Really not understanding why Ezra and Caesar were being left undercover for so long with nothing being done. How much information do the supposed good guys need to take these places down? Or is this a case of another traitor at work. Did they just leave the car and dead bodies at the service station for anyone to find????
Brad Durant is ex-special forces & a wolf shifter…
He thought of going back to school…before being recruited into the Paranormal Security & Intelligence Ops: Shadow Agent division…along with a close friend.
Things turn sideways…when he’s “captured” & held against his will for over a year…who sold him out? He isn’t sure…but he’s barely hanging in there…and has little hope of being ‘rescued’.
Alice is a college student, and succubus…that get’s kidnapped from a frat party at her university…
She’s feisty…and causing all sorts of ‘problems’…though she’s starting to become weak…because she refuses to ‘fed’ on her captors…because eww…
An undercover PSI agent…does something that he probably shouldn’t have done…
He gets her transferred…to the same facility that’s holding Brad…
They manage to escape when things start going downhill…but can they trust each other??
Both call to the other on the most basic level…Brad is determined to get Alice to safety…but what happens when the bad guys track them down?
Can they get out of danger before either are injured? Are they destined mates? Will they figure out who sold out Brad? What about Alice’s history (parents & so forth)….so many questions.
I’ve loved this larger world of the Paranormal Security & Intelligence Ops…and I think I’m a few books behind on the entire universe…but that’s the great thing about this world—you can dive into what ever series you want, and then go back to catch up with everyone else.
Five out five stars, & I can’t wait to dive into Ezra’s story next…aiming to catch up with all of these guys before the fifth book is released at the end of the month.
This is my first Mandy M Roth book, and it did not disappoint. While not my normal genre, sometimes a change is good. This paranormal romance introduced me to Brad Durant, a natural born wolf shifter who was kidnapped while hiking with his friend Vic. He was taken to experiment upon and breed. Fast forward almost a year, and we meet Alice, a succubus and her friend Mae. Both are taken from a party for the same reason. Alice proves to be a fiesty opponent, and never gives in to her captors. Her personality is infectious, loving her ability to keep the guards at bay and herself as safe as she can. Brad being the alpha male that he is, Alice is immediately drawn to him when they meet.
There is a cast of supporting characters, all who play an important role in the meeting and escape of Alice and Brad. I am not going to spoil the twists and turns of the plot, but know that they all have integral parts in the story. I especially loved Gus and Wild Bill.
The narration of this book by D.C. Cole is spot on. I only had heard him perform romance novels previously, and though this is a romance, there is a lot of action in it as well. He rises to the challenge of the numerous voices and scenes, and kept me listening!
Total loved this story, what can I say I'm a sucker for a guy that will do absolutely everything for the woman he loves. Which for the most part Mandy M. Roth delivers, there is the occasional bumpy A-hole that I make me want to go out and buy the highest pair of heels I can find, just so I can stab him with them. But, thank goodness they are few and far between, (and thank goodreads and the reader reviews for the heads up) 90% of MMR book Hero's are alpha to the extreme, but when it comes to their lady's they are great big bags of muscle filled with gooey caramel. And I love that, it's my favorite type of romance.
This one delivers that in spades, Brad makes my poor heart go squishy when I think of what he has suffered, but as soon as Alice comes into the picture he's her's completely and utterly.
Yes it's inta-whatever, but then again I like love at first sight stories, and more than anything I like that Alice is a strong take no shit, and for once NOT A FREEKING VIRGIN! Though she still has issues with shame, *ugh*, but while I hate that, the rest of MMR's story is so good it does not stop my enjoying it.
Wolf shifter Brad has been held for a year beaten , experimented on,and drugged when he realizes a red headed woman Alice (a succubus who will be his mate) has been captured and but in the cell next to him that another woman Mae had been in. The doctors had tried to force him to mate Mae but he had only felt a need to protect her, not to mate her. Both women were friends and had been kidnapped the same night . When the cells they are held in is attacked an undercover PSI operative Corbin releases Brad and tells him to get Alice to safety while he tries to get Mae and Brad's friend Vic plus a few other operatives out. When the building blows up on them everyone is separated and the book centers on what happens to the couple and how they will end up helped and finding some of the ones they are looking for. As usual Mandy has another great story here.
It's a short so wasn't a satisfying read for me because the story and everything in it is sped up and there aren't enough details to satisfy. There was lots of reading and explanation so at times a bit boring but I felt that part could have been helped if the author stopped with the repetitive information. We learned over and over that Alice was a succubus who didn't like her "inner harlot". Got it the first mention, didn't need it the million other times it's mentioned. I also thought it was eye raising that Alice's best friend Mae was portrayed as disliking Alice's slutty succubus ways and was judgmental. It sounded like Mae was actually a crappy friend. Brad was hopped up on meds to prime him for breeding but he's not only a manly man but a saint with a will of iron, considerate, and honorable. He holds out against a succubus who's starving and her magic.
Wolf's Surrender (Shadow Agents #1) by Mandy M. Roth is a Spin Off of Immortal Ops World and just as great as the others and gives us yet more hot sexy alpha shifters. They are page turners and over before you want. I absolutely love the humour Mandy instils in her characters and often find myself laughing so hard and just when I think she could not come up with more she does.
Brad is a Wolf Shifter on a trip to South America him and his mate, Vic have been lied to and lured into the jungle and captured by psycho scientists and their henchmen. Brad senses his new cell neighbour; Alice is more than she seems and is immediately drawn to wanting to protect her. Can they escape and live to tell the tale?
Was I just not reading closely enough to miss most of the plot? Was this book (novella) meant for people already sucked into this universe and so gaping holes in story telling are acceptable? This book has left me with a bad aftertaste. Maybe I should have thrown it across the room when we got to the description of the succubus (she feeds from sex, people), who nonetheless has to slut-shame herself for her needs and desires. She wishes she could remain chaste and true. Is Mandy M. Roth the pseudonym for a guy?
Don't get me wrong, I like the whole supernatural thing. I enjoy reading about werewolves. I like a nice lusty book. It's just that you can be all those things and be good, and this one wasn't.
If you like the Immortal Ops, this is another awesome addition to the series. It has fantastic characters and of course Brad and Alice stories of how they were taken, the link to “The Corporation”, their captivity and much more.
The series are quick reads that reads like an action movie with paranormals. Loving the stories and the clever way they are intertwined but leave you to read in any order (even though the author does suggest a reading order). I found the stories with the Wolf Surrender and went back and read the others, before finding the suggested order but can read it with no issues and follow it. Now that I have the list, I will read and reread as suggested.
Brad needs a miracle before he surrenders to his wolf. He gets it in the form of Alice, his true mate, but they still need to escape...
I love all the books in Mandy Roth's Immortal Ops World, and even though I started reading the original series, Immortal Ops back in 2011 with the then brand new and hot of the presses fourth book, 'Strategic Vulnerability', I didn't feel like I'd missed out on anything except other great stories, so I bought the first three and dived straight in. I haven't really surfaced since, have read all the others, regardless of series, as they were published and could happily drown in these terrific all-action books with their humour and total hotness, although the bad guys could do with a damned good thrashing... with something nasty to match their brutal personalities. When I started reading 'Wolf's Surrender', the first book in the brand new Shadow Agents series, I had an overwhelming sense of Deja Vu... because I've been to this South American rainforest, and this beginning before.... but from the perspective of a different character, five years ago when I read 'Strategic Vulnerability', and I've been to this 'facility', OK, let's be honest... it's a torture chamber, before... also from a different character's perspective, and very recently in 'Act of Command', the forth book in the PSI-Ops series. As with all Mandy's books, if you haven't read these two, it doesn't really matter because there's enough background in the story that you won't feel like you've missed anything and there's a really handy Series Helper at the beginning of the book that gives a brief bio of all the characters in the Immortal Ops World and is updated with each new book. There's also a reading order for the Immortal Ops World books on her website for anyone who wants to start at the beginning.
In 'Wolf's Surrender', Brad Durant, former Shifter Special Forces and current student has been held by two different sets of bad guys for nearly a year in which he's been brutally tortured, drugged and very nearly broken. Having grown up in a situation where he and his best friend Vic thought they were the only two 'freaks' out there and knowing nothing of the supernatural world, he's never trusted his wolf, which, thanks to all the drugs and experiments that have been done on him, is now bigger, stronger, almost impossible to control and even less trustworthy than it was before. So tired of fighting what his captors have done to him, exhausted, half-starved and frequently in pain, he's seriously contemplating surrendering to his wolf so they'll kill him. Then he meets someone special, someone he's had visions of for a long time, when she's unceremoniously shoved into the cell next to his and a miracle happens..... or is it two?
Alice Gladden is a 5th year student at the University and close to getting her degree but she's also mostly Succubus, no-one knows what else is in her make-up, just that there is something else. She hates what she has to do to feed her 'inner slut', but has no choice and having walked her best friend Mae to her blind date, Alice has gone to a frat party knowing that all the lust and sexual energy in the air will allow her to feed freely for hours. Making herself as inconspicuous as possible, she's feeding and watching the party when she sees someone who really doesn't belong, whose thoughts make her cringe and whose presence raises the hairs on the back of her neck. Having escaped him in the house, she feels a sharp pain in her neck and the next thing she knows.... she's waking up in a small concrete cell with hazy memories of the night before and wondering which nameless guy her Succubus slept with, when everything comes rushing back and she realises she's in serious trouble.....
I'm not going to give spoilers, but this action packed story has humour, steam and a happily ever after. It's also heartbreaking and painful to read in places. Brad's life has been hard, the last year even more so and he just wants it to stop. Alice has grown up with supernatural parents in the lap of luxury, but her succubus has made her life miserable since puberty. Finding each other and discovering they are true mates is the best thing that's ever happened to either of them, but escaping their cells needs another miracle. Full of wonderful characters, including two of my favourites from the Immortal Outcasts, Wild Bill and Gus, as well as some serious psychos and a couple of terrific dragon shifter good guys undercover in the bad guy camp, this book had me on the edge of my seat, gnawing at my fingernails, and desperate to find out what happened next, but I refused to ruin the suspense and peek ahead to find out. Despite the book being held in my hand, and my arm being a finite length, I kept finding myself leaning forwards as the action progressed and the tension rose, almost like I was trying to stop the book from getting away from me. But I got so immersed in the story, I forgot it was a book, something I find myself doing a lot with Mandy's terrific stories.
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review and I really didn't want to put it down. This deserves a lot more than the 5 star maximum I'm allowed to give and is very definitely on my list of books to rescue if the house was burning down.
This was the first book in this series that I did not enjoy as much as the previous ones. The first 50 percent of the book all depict the scenarios that lead us to the end of the previous book from Brad's and Alice's point of view. So we go back to the jungle in South America and to the day of the date between Corbin and Mae. I wouldn't have minded it for a short recap from their pov, but it was half the already short novella, so that there was barely any time to actually deal with the romance between Brad and Alice, which was really sad, because they are a great pair. I still enjoyed the second half of the book very much!
While I enjoyed Wolf's Surrender, it fell a little short of my expectations for one of Mandy Roth's PSI novels. As an alpha hero, Brad is typical of the breed: strong and fearsome, he is the perfect foil for a strong supernatural female. Unfortunately, the heroine Alice is a succubus and initially comes across as very unlikable. It's only about halfway through the story that her character becomes a little more redeeming; unfortunate as this is a novella. Some parts of this novella were better than others: new characters are introduced, old characters pop up and action abounds - so good times.
In a previous OPS book “Act of Command’, Mae is captured at her college before her date with Corbin. Her roommate, Alice, a half succubus, is captured at the same time. This is the story of what happened to Alice and how she met Brad, another prisoner.
Brad, a wolf shifter, and his buddy, Vic had been captured while on a trip to the Amazon. Vic died from a brutal beating, but Brad was recaptured by a rival secret corporation. That’s where he meets Alice.
Footnote: 1) She should have left a note before going to get food.
Fave scenes: the Amazon polar bears, Alice finding out about Mae and Red Riding Hood & the Big Bad Wolf.
Brad (from Kim's Group in the Rainforest) has been held for over a year. Vic was taken away, and he's heartsick about what may be happening to his best friend.
Alice (Mae's Best Friend) was also kidnapped at school, and Brad knows as soon as he scents her, she's special. Ezra (Shadow Ops/Dragon shifter) helps to break them out, and Corbin tells Brad to get Alice to safety.
On the run, they realize they're mates, and they work on getting what they need from each other, while staying ahead of the bad guys.
Let me start by saying that I really like Mandy Roth's work. I hadn't read her in a long time, so I decided to pick up this book. The hero was tortured literally, but somehow retained his humanity, though he was at the point of giving up. The heroine is strong and likable. I think for me the love story unfolded too quickly. There wasn't a lot of build up. I found it entertaining enough and will probably pick up another book in the series at some point.
Loving the Immortal World series as a whole, but I'm seriously not liking how abruptly the individual stories are ending. Personally, I think $5-$6 is too much for how short these stories are, and I think the author is doing her fans a disservice by charging so much for so little writing. I'm only continuing the series because I'm really interested in seeing how the whole thing wraps up and how theses shifters find their mates.
Another great book Finally find out what happen to brad from "Strategic vulnerability" This is "brad "story he has been capture and held for a year ,when he meets alice who been captured and transfer to where brad is being held This is where it starts. And turns into a great book,I hate reviews that giveaway to much. It ruins the book for me. You will love it! If you get this book ,leave a honest review 😃 Hope you enjoy it!
Doctor James Hagan thought he had bid PSI OPS goodbye forever now he was trying to doing something good in the world by helping those who know one else would help. But he didn't plan on being captured by the bad guys who wanted to start a new world order. After being held so long he is having trouble healing himself he's about ready to give up. That is until he meets a new cyber punk who turns his world upside down. Another great one
while little slow to start was still interesting and gave good background as to what h/h through prior to meeting in their captive situation. relationship developed at a nice pace, felt them develop emotions even though destined mate. ending was a little abrupt (prob often with novellas) but still left at mostly good place.
Wolf's Surrender is Brad and Alice's book. Brad has been held by the Corporation for a year now. He finally has a chance to escape thanks to an undercover operative named Ezra. Alice is moved to a new facility thanks to Ezra and that lands her in a cell next to Brad. Ezra helps them escape and they are in the run.
