Rate this book
'This couldn't be happening. This was a trick. A cruel ploy to finally break me. They knew I'd weakened. Today the first day I'd let the tears fall and screamed my frustration and despair. They knew they almost had me, so they were pushing the knife in further and twisting the blade. Just to be sure.'

Since then she's crawled her way through treacherous environments, been pitted against dangerous predatory beings, and survived formidable destructive forces. Only to find herself in the one place she'd feared above all.

A mad scientist's laboratory.
A harrowing world full of heartache and betrayal.
And a longing for Fire even the chilling change in the Air can't cool.

Broken, but not beaten, Casey must fight not only for her survival, but for everything she holds dear. A world growing darker and bleaker every day. And is Casey the answer to it all? Trying to determine just what she is becoming, while desperately clinging to her heart's desire, Casey must learn to face a future she never would have chosen for herself. But she soon begins to realise, although she's not alone in this battle, the war itself has only just begun.

Love this series! Definitely one of my favourites and I could not put it down. It's a rare book where you actually feel connected to the characters, especially Casey, I love her and of course Theo. Can't wait for the next book :)

Best book in the series so far. This took a change, as Genesis occurs and everyone is fighting for survival. Quite scary as we see much of this happening in the world today! In this book the story really begins to unfold, it is not just around Cassandra and Theo's love life. Instead, we develop a greater understanding of the characters and what the Elements are. I really did not want to put this down. Looking forward to Book 4

The Chilling Change of Air picks up in the Pyrkagia Pyrgos where TSSOE left off. Our Elemental, Casey, is back again, and danger swirls way too close for comfort. Having been sentenced by a slightly deranged King, does she have her Thisavros at her back, or is she destined to face what’s to come alone?

Summary:
Casey Eden’s life is no longer recognizable. She’s already survived so much; unforgiving environments, crushing betrayal, evading alchemist capture, and crazed, power-wielding supernaturals. But more is demanded. She’s survived, only to find herself in the clutches of a mad scientist hell-bent on discovering just how she ticks. She’s been separated from her Thisavros; their connection tenuous at best. And to make matters worse, her third awakening looms, as they knew it would, but in less than desirable circumstances. The world is broken. Luckily, Casey is stubborn, and she refuses to give up. But how do you fight what you don’t know? Is she the answer to the problem, and if so how? So many questions, doubts, fears, and time is quickly running out. Casey must learn to face a new and dangerous future, fighting for her heart’s desire against all odds. She’s not alone, but what is expected of her, and is this the battle they’ve all been waiting for or just the beginning?

TCCOA is my favorite in the series so far! I can’t get enough of Casey, her Thisavros, and the rag-tag family she’s made for herself. Again, the connection to Casey was so easy to establish. Like it never truly left me from the last book. Reading this was heartbreaking and devastating, but empowering and absolutely lovely at times, too. Our sweet little Gi has been run the gamut of emotion, all of us at her side for every feel, every hurdle, and despite getting very close, she’s never given up. If anything, she’s more motivated than ever. The loss of the Thisavros connection had tears filling my eyes, but under the circumstances, Casey handled it well. She’s grown so much from the shy woman we first met. With the weight of the world on her shoulders and a broken heart, she showed courage, perseverance, and hope. She was in a word, excellent. Theo was pretty freakin great, too. Even with his memories gone, he still showed his true nature. An alpha prince determined to protect and care for Casey. Watching them fall in love all over again was beautiful, and showed the power of a Thisavros connection in all its glory. Supporting cast was spot-on in this book. We still had to deal with Isadora and her bitchy ways, but I have to admit, at times she wasn’t so bad. Aktor was back and better than ever. Nico and all his flirty playfulness was in tow, too. Nicola gave us a sweet treat, though, and included not only Casey’s best friend, Sonya, but also someone who was very close to Casey in her past. It made for surprising revelations and very dynamic relationships throughout the small group. It was fabulous. We learn so much more in this book. We finally get questions answered that we’ve been asking since the beginning. We also get a few more questions, but I’m confident we’ll learn all we need to in the next book. Overall, I adored this installment with our Elementals. Falling into this world has taken me on a roller-coaster ride of emotion that ranged from love, to loss, to betrayal, to hope, to excitement, to passion, and so many more. I should think the physical book would be vibrating in your hands, just waiting for the emotion to burst forth. I can’t wait to read the conclusion of Casey’s journey. A journey she never knew would happen or even wanted, but a journey she’s wholeheartedly taken up. Well done, Nicola! Keep bringing that magic. ♡

Wow! I thought Casey and Theo had been through a lot in books 1 and 2, but it was nothing compared to this installment! While there was a lot of angst in this book, it really showed the depth of their love. I also enjoyed having some old friends back as well as a new character thrown into the mix.

The plot of this was really interesting. I'm not really a big sci fi person, but the premise of this series is very engaging and creative. However, it is the romance that really makes this stand apart. There's really no way for you to NOT cheer for Casey and Theo, and I am SO excited to see how this series will end!

Well I know the author had to do it, but this one pissed me off. She had to go and ruin Theo and Casey's relationship. HOWEVER, I stayed very connected to Casey with all of her pain. The author does an amazing job at letting the reader feel everything that the characters are feeling, as she has throughout the entire series.
Can't wait for the next book to come out!

What a catalyst the beginning of Genesis. The different elements made themselves know throughout Genesis and introduce themselves to Cassandra.

I would have like to know what happened to the fire elementals through the elements being blocked.

in addition to the AWESOME book before this one, I absolutely fell in LOVE with this one MORE! Again, was overwhelmed with the loss of the Thisavros connection between Theo and Casey and was definitely OVERJOYED when they got it back! The relationship between the 7 of them is AWESOME, and I was glad that it was coming together, even though Isadora can be a cow. Honestly, this is the BEST book out of the series so far and I am so happy that Theo and Casey such a strong and healthy relationship towards each other! I love the way that everything was written in this book (and also in the other books before this one!) But definitely this was my favorite!! Definitely was an AMAZING read! And I say this with all my heartfelt emotions in tact! <3

Ok. Loved this book, but I'm really sick of the torture. I am really hoping the next book does not go the way these others have.
