The Utu Tonah is defeated and the peace Tan has wanted finally comes to the kingdoms. Before he can know that peace, Tan faces his most difficult challenge yet as he attempts to rule in Par-shon, this time without his bonded draasin to guide him.

Worse, all is not as he thought, and the history of Par-shon more complicated than he knew. Secrets emerge that change what he knows of the elementals and the power that he commands. And somehow he must navigate strange politics while discovering the source of a new threat, one where his shaping ability and connection to the elementals might not be enough.

This was another good entry in the series, but not my favorite. It was lighter on the action and felt a bit like it was setting up the next book.

I still love the characters and world, though, and Holmberg has a writing style that is very easy to read.

seeing how this is the first review of this fantastic book I'm going to do things a little differently than what reviews I have been reading. I'm not going to give you a recap of the book you can read that for yourselves, but I will tell you my opinion of the book itself.
I've been a follower of this series since the beginning and the story and plot line keeps getting better and better. Seeing the characters grow into strength and power and maturity is an amazing feat that few authors can accomplish and Holmberg has nailed it. This latest book leaves you thirsting for more and the anticipation of the next book leaves you feeling like your hanging over a cliff ( no pun intended) and if the next book doesn't come quickly you'll drop into a bottomless pit.
More or less what I'm trying to say is that it is an amazing read. thank you.

Great series

I am impressed with the incredible variety available to the authors of fantasy. This series was a very compelling read. All of the extra books on the other characters added to the overall story line. I am anxious to continue the series when the next book is released. I am sorry that there aren't six more books in the set finished and waiting for me to read.

And now..Revelation!!

Just as Jordan's hero became more, so Tan is now in a battle between light and darkness. The seals much like those in the book of Revelation. Can't wait to see the end fully in sight.

Awe..

Conspiracy abounds in this strange new place. Par or Par-shon? Who can be trusted? It ends much as it began, more of a mystery to unfold in the next book!

If you like action, this is for you!

As Tan continues to grow in strength and knowledge, so do his questions and troubles. Amazing discoveries and lot of action. Loved it!

These were fun to start with, but the epic problem just got bigger with every new book, and I got tired of it by the end.

The final third of this book made it perhaps the best book in the series so far. The dragging of the first two thirds hold it back from 5 stars.

Awesome series!

Since I don't have special powers that enable me to fly, I have to rely on the adventures of Maelen aka Tan to sate my cliff jumping urges. :) I love this series enough to become mad when I finish reading them in one evening. Voracious reading, its a talent; that is my story and I am sticking to it.
The book had very few editing user errors which was also great. I definitely recommend this series a d author, enjoy the read and maybe buy the whole series at once to save money. Happy reading!
Ps. Now I will be waiting ever so impatiently for book 9!!

I really enjoy this author. This has been a great series. Great system of magic, clean, awesome hero and I can't wait for more. I am really surprised that he doesn't have more reviews! He, and authors like him, are the reason I love kindle unlimited so much. Some of my favorite authors have been from there!

Developed

This book seemed much better developed. It was an enjoyable read, if somewhat transparent with the fact Tan "doesn't understand".
