The irrepressible Eloise is back with a beginner reader that is fun for both parents and children. She is so enthusiastic with everything she does, although her antics make me cringe.
I enjoy reading these stories to our children, but it makes me sad to see this little girl growing up the way she does, surrounded by luxury and excess, but not her parents.

The more Eloise books I read the more I dislike her. As a very active and out of control child I can't see her being a good influence to children who read about her. She goes through and drawing on the walls and paintings of a fancy hotel. tears up things in the lobby etc. Really? This could be a cute series but the four or five Eloise books I've read to my son I'm just like "geez"... I'll more than likely not be reading anymore of her books.

I did not enjoy this story at all, I actually found it quite hard to get through. My daughter picked it though from the library so we finished it.
Eloise lives in a hotel and they are decorating for Christmas and she basically decides to assist them and causes mass chaos instead. It wasn't the story line that turned me off but the words, names and writing style. Just not for me.

Eloise.
I constantly shake my head. She is so naughty.
I understand that is the point. However she has very selfish tendencies to choose to do whatever makes her happy whether she destroys things for everyone else. I suppose you can see it as her haphazard way of trying to help but that is really only a small bit of the time.
Rant over.
The book itself is not bad. Easy to read. Level 1

All the kids enjoy this book and I think it is pretty cute also. What's more fun than decorating for Christmas (at least when you are a kid)? Eloise goes whole hog with decorating throughout her apartment complex. Of course, the turtle, Skipperdee, and her adorable pug, Weenie, join her in the fun!

This book about a mischievous girl illustrates the innocence of childhood.

Eloise finds the perfect topper for the Plaza's Christmas tree.

I know many my love these books, but I can't get past her being such an unruly and misbehaved child.

Love Eloise! It's a children's book with cute illustrations.

December 12, 2018I like that, while Eloise makes a lot of mess (innocently), she isn't scolded. She probably she be reigned in and would drive a caretaker to frustration in real life, but Nanny is patient and I approve.
