They say opposites attract. In my world that isn’t a good thing.
I did everything I could to escape the grips of motorcycle club I grew up in when I turned twenty-one.
It wasn’t about fear, or betrayal, or even lack of love. I just needed my own life.
I had to know how it felt to stand on my own two feet without their protection.
Then I met Diesel. Mysterious, dark, with eyes that screamed to be understood.
From the second I met him, I knew I needed to be in his life.
There’s just one problem – he’s a member of a different motorcycle club.
Two things that should never be combined. Yet I can’t stay away.
No matter how hard he pushes. I can see beyond his mask.
I need to know who he is and I’ll overcome any obstacle to be in his life.
A friendship is born, followed by an epic love.
Our relationship is forbidden.
But I’ll do anything to be in his life.
Anything.

Mercedes grew up living, breathing, and bleeding the MC life. So when she has a chance to go away to college and get away from overbearing bikers, she takes it and leaves. For awhile she's free, people don't avoid her because of her connection to the MC because they don't know, and she actually makes some friends. Then Diesel enters her life. She pushes her way into his life to be his friend because she knows he needs one. But then she learns who his dad is - a member of another MC. Which makes Diesel forbidden.

This is only the second book from the MC Sinner Next Generation series but I already have a feeling that it's going to be a hit or miss series for me. I really liked the first book, so I was excited for this Drifter, but it ended up only being meh for me. I can't even say that it was a MC book or even a book worth going on my yummy-bikers shelf, sine the MC wasn't prominently in it. To me this is more of a college-NA type of read, that just happened to be about kids that grew up around bikers.

I liked Mercedes by the end of the book, but I in the beginning I had some issues with her, and I had an issue with how her character seemed to change randomly. In the beginning we were told that she was this tough girl, yet we didn't see it. She came off a little passive and weak, and then all of the sudden we see her being the tough girl we were told she was, and she's fighting everyone like a badass. I liked that part of her, I just wish it was her personality the whole book.

Diesel was the brooding Hero that makes your panties melt right off. I loved the silent, bad boy that he was, and he's really what made this book so interesting for me. I enjoyed learning more about it, and the little pieces of his damaged heart that we got along the way kept me intrigued with the story.

I liked the little twist on the usual romance books. Instead of Diesel being the stalker character that wouldn't let Mercedes get away from him, it was the other way around. I thought it was refreshing to see that change of pace, and I liked seeing Diesel try to avoid his feelings for Mercedes, and then eventually realize how deep those feelings went.

Overall, the book was okay for me, but I had a lot of issues with it. I think my big problem was that I went into the it expecting another kick ass biker book from this author, but what I got was a NA-contemporary book that sometimes read more like a YA. For anyone that like a love/hate relationship, with a lot of back and forth fighting between the Hero and heroine, this is the book for you.

This book is double exciting, because it's about Mercedes and Diesel. Mercedes is Spike's daughter (Heaven's Sinners) and Diesel is Mack's son (Anguish) !! Offspring from two different MC's ;)

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1517

Mercedes is at a concert with her friend, when she falls in insta-love with the singer of the band...after meeting him backstage, she learns three things. One he's an awesome kisser, two...he's a major asshole and three, his name is Diesel. Now he might have been a major douche to her...but she just can't get him out of her head..

Animated GIF

Mercedes is excited about starting a new chapter in her life, at 21, she finally gets to leave the clublife, and her over-protective dad, behind and go the college...while living on her own. Well not exactly alone, she has an awesome roommate, but still...

Imagine her surprise, when she finds out Diesel goes to the same college. For some reason she is drawn to him, but turns out...he is still a major asshole. That however is nothing compared to his girlfriend. I swear that bitch would have been perfect for the movie "Mean Girls". Damn I hated that psycho bitch !!

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29105425-drifter

I was happy when Diesel dumped her ass (not that it made a difference, because the bitch was a psycho), but I just wished he would have done it sooner.

After Diesel saves Mercedes' ass twice, they start building a friendship. Of course they have serious sexual tension going on, but for some reason Diesel doesn't want to give in to it. Which might be for the best, because when Mercedes finds out that Diesel's parents are from a rival biker club...she knows she is screwed. Her family would never allow her to date a kid from a rival club.

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1517

Unfortunately Mercedes is already too far gone...having serious feelings for Diesel and when they finaly get together, after Mercedes has been in an incident, she decides to keep her family a secret for now. She cares so much about Diesel and she doesn't think she should be punished, just because she grew up with a different biker-club.

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1517

Of course secrets always come out...and they do, in a very unfortunate way. Diesel is angry and feels betrayed, because she lied... and Mercedes' dad Spike, he blows. He is so very angry, ordering her to stop seeing him and not to go near him again. Mercedes is in love however...and nobody gets to tell her who she loves !! I seriously loved this girl. She was funny as hell, she kicked ass and didn't take any crap from anyone. She was also so loving and sweet.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29105425-drifter

With threats to the club and Mercedes, a crazy ex girlfriend and very stubborn dads...these two have to decide if their love is worth the shitstorm that they are in !!

I loved this book. The Mc's were awesome, even though Diesel was a major douche in the beginning. The side-characters were great and I loved seeing all of them again. I can't wait for the next book. I really want to read about Danny and Skye ;) The only thing that bugged me a little, was that we get another virgin....I am kind of done with the whole virgin deal !! Other than that...highly recommended ;)

At first, I thought I'd be really into this one because it deals with members of motorcycle clubs. I loved Diesel he was tough, totally sexy and dark. I also enjoyed Mercedes, she was confident and a very dynamic person. Their chemistry was really hot and they were great together. I'm not sure if it was just boring or if I didn't connect to the story. I am really disappointed. Diesel and Mercedes constantly danced around their issues and kept saying the same thing over and over and over again. The chemistry was OK, but the romance did not sit well on me. I just felt it wasn't "special" enough.

TITLE: Drifter
SERIES: (MC Sinners Next Generation, #2)
AUTHOR: Bella Jewel
GENRE: Contemporary Romance

MY RATING
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I LOVED Pandemonium (MC Sinners Next Generation #1) by Bella Jewel the first book in this series so I'm really keen to see what she's going to throw at us this time..

DRIFTER: This book is centered around Mercedes and Diesel.

Mercedes is the now grown up daughter of Spike and Ciara who we met in the MC Sinners Series and Diesel is the son of Mack and Jaylah from the Jokers Wrath MC Series..

Mercedes heading off to college now and as we know she's lived a sheltered life as an MC brat due to the life her father leads running the club..

Being the daughter of an overbearing protective biker can be slightly daunting at times.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Mercedes meets Diesel on a girl's night out with her best friend Pru at his concert before she goes off to college..

The known rule of not getting involved with an outside MC biker club is as forbidden as ever in this book as Mercedes oversteps that rule and becomes involved with the broody, hot, dark, Native American , Diesel the front man of "Wrath."

A friendship is born, followed by an epic love, our relationship is forbidden, but I'll do anything to be in his life...Anything.

To say these two characters had a rocky start to their friendship is definitely an understatement, these two pushed each others buttons to no end..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic “You come in here acting all high and mighty, call me over, take me from my duties after giving me a lecture about not doing my job properly, and then you have the nerve to stand, after wasting my time, and walk out? I don’t know how you were raised, buddy, but clearly you were never taught manners.” I throw my hands on my hips and lean close. “So off you go—leave. You’re the one missing out. I don’t serve wankers who have more mood swings than a female with PMS”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Because of this club bad things have happened. Because of this club I can’t have the friends I want. Because of this club I don’t get to be who I am or love who I want.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic "Girls like you will never work with guys like me. I'm dark; it's in my soul. You're light; I saw it the first time I met you. You're the kind of light that could fix my dark, but I can't let that happen."

That over used clique this is so easy to get into (rolls eyes) is exactly that, it's 1:am and for the life of me I can't put this down, GAH I'm going to be a zombie today, in my head I'm repeating, just one more chapter and I'll go to sleep, 3 chapters read and I still can't put my iPad down..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“I lied to him. I lied to his family. I did something I shouldn’t have done”

“You’re the daughter of an MC member,” he rumbles.”

And just like that, shit gets real between this unlikely duo

I love Mercedes take no prisoners tough attitude, she's sexy, sassy, and speaks her mind, Diesel is the complete opposite to her, he's the silent brooding type but when he does speak you sit back and take note..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic " I could've been your friend, and buddy, I would've been the best fucking friend you ever had, but you're a dick. I don't befriend dicks."

MY THOUGHTS
Dayum this author can write, this book pretty much ticked all my boxes, wasn't all about love it had just enough grit to keep me focused, loved how the previous characters from earlier series made an appearance in this book..

3,5 STARS!!!

We are so much more than what we say.

I don't know if I was the only one who thought this book was going to be about Skye and Danny. I can’t say I am disappointed, after all it was written by Bella Jewel. I can read whatever she writes. The woman is a genius.

The story follows Spike’s daughter Mercedes. For those who don’t remember Spike, he appeared in The MC Sinners series in the second book Haven’s Sinner. Since I read MC Sinners long time ago, I had to refresh my memory.

Mercedes had enough of her father’s overprotected behavior. She enrolls in Denver College and finally feels what freedom taste like. In one of her classes she bumps into Diesel. Diesel is a lead singer of band WRATH. This isn't their first encounter. Few months back she was at his gig. They had a brief talk what resulted with him being an ass to her.

Then I meet you. A cocky, overbearing asshole who thinks I’m here to get some. Don’t flatter yourself. Whatever makes you think you’re that super fucking hot that I’d just want to drop my panties and climb aboard, rethink it. What you are is a chauvinistic pig. I hope you trip on stage and-

Nothing changes much on their second encounter. He doesn’t acknowledge her, insults her. Basically still an ass possibly even bigger. But Mercedes isn’t some shy girl and she fights back.

“You come in here acting all high and mighty, call me over, take me from my duties after giving me a lecture about not doing my job properly, and then you have the nerve to stand, after wasting my time, and walk out? I don’t know how you were raised buddy, but clearly you were never taught manners.” I throw my hands on my hips and lean closer “So off you go—leave. You’re the one missing out. I don’t serve wankers who have more mood swings than a female with PMS.”

This were the best parts of the book, watching them arguing. Yes, I know. I am big sucker for love/hate relationship. Sometimes I could see that her words wounded him and that kept me wonder why such bad attitude he had towards people.

I shrug. “He’s a nobody, Max”
I glanced at Diesel and something almost painful flashed across his face. Did he just hear me? And even if he did, why would he care?

This Diesel kept bugging me. I know I knew him from before but I just couldn't place him where. So as I kept reading the book I remember form where I know him.

Overall, this book made me laugh so many times. I loved Mercy and Diesel as a couple, but I enjoyed them more as a friends. Yes, they were quite good friends for short period of time.

I look to him again, a slight smile on my lips. “Admit it; I’m addictive.”
“Pain in the ass is what you are.”
“So, will you be my friend? Surely we can have a conversation without you being a dick.”
He makes a wheezing sound, like he nearly burst out laughing. “You already drivin’ me nuts.”
“So long as it’s the good kind.”I grin at him.

I love when the author includes characters from the other series. It was good to see Joker’s wrath again. I hope Bella will write stories for the younger generation of Jokers.

"If we opened our soul for others to see, The darkest parts of us might be free."

Shifter focus on Mercedes the daughter of Spike. We met her on Pandemonium and I was dying to get my hands on her story after I finished the first book.

Mercedes at twenty one years old decides to revel and get some freedom from her family form the MC club. Her father is over protected of her and she needed her own space. She moves to Detroit to attend college. On Pandemonium she met a musician that intrigued her one kiss that melted her and she never thought she would see him again. Life at collage wasn't all what she was expecting when she finds out the musician she kissed once attended the same college and his girlfriend was a psycho freak that made her life miserable.

Diesel was a jerk from the first time he met Mercedes. He had made a mistake in the past that cost someone's life; he felt miserable and responsible for it that he basically shot down to the world. He never smile and just went along with life putting up with the bully of girlfriend he had because it worked for him. He was the most popular boy at college and no one messed with him until Mercedes. She came crashing his life he was so annoyed at least that's what he made her believed. In reality he didn't want to hurt her but by being basically a jerk and letting his girlfriend bullied her he was hurting her. All Diesel wanted was to play his music and didn't want to be in the MC business as he was destined for.

"I'm dark it's in my soul. You're light: I saw it the first time I met you. You're the kind of light that can fix my dark, but I can't let that happen."

Mer was not afraid though she had claws and she defended herself just find against bulling until it got so bad her roommate got hurt. She knew that she couldn't deal. At this time she had managed to stalked Diesel and finally befriended him. They definitely had a chemistry; she made him laugh and that's something he hadn't been able to do for a while.

Diesel finally gives into their chemistry and finally lets Mercedes in his life. However; Mer knew that they just couldn't happened. He was the son of another MC club and she was the daughter of another clubs don't mix and she was afraid their relationship was bound to be done from the beginning. She didn't care though she wanted him and when he finally wanted her he find out about the club secret she was hiding and all hell breaks lose.

This book was such a fast read; enjoyable. I really liked it. I wanted to love it as much as I did Pandemonium but it was missing a little more action maybe I can't really explain. I still enjoyed the fact that I was able to see both clubs families and kids and I loved them. I think these two worked perfect for each other. Mer was exactly what Diesel needed and they together were perfect. Shit went crazy really fast when someone was trying to get both clubs to fight against each other but in the midst of all both clubs were able to work together and figure it by doing so all the generations were able to stay in touch and I loved seeing all of them together.

Bella Jewel's books are like the BFF you go to for a pick-me-up. They are always a sure thing for me. It's easy to connect with the characters, and I don't even realize the flow and simplicity with which they read. I love that I can laugh and hold my heart in quick succession. Drifter is no different.

Diesel may be my favorite MC kid. Ever. He's dark and twisty. There is still so much to learn about what makes him tick. Mercedes is sassy and fun. She's a take-no-shit kind of girl, and that stays true, no matter what is thrown at her. Together they have great chemistry and fight mad battles of love.

Love isn't an easy road. It's hard and crazy. It can be amazing and beautiful but it can make you doubt everything you've known. In the case of Diesel and Mercy, it's more about who you're really meant to be, than conforming to the wishes of those you love. And that's an extremely difficult road at a young age.

Will they make it? Will love prevail? Check out Drifter for yourself! ~ Heather, 4.5 stars

~~~
The MC Sinners and Jokers' Wrath worlds collide in this book by Bella Jewel. Diesel and Mercedes come together—both with families from different MCs. Their lives have been much of the same, but will that be what tears them apart?
Mercedes is finally getting a break from her family at 21, by going to college. There she meet Diesel, who is annoying and cocky, but she still can’t get enough of him. Over time, she weasels her way into his life and they become friends, but that isn’t without obstacles.
I’m always down for a MC book. Especially if Bella Jewel is writing it! I enjoyed reading this book of the MC Sinners Next Generation. You not only get to learn more about these characters that are no longer children, but you still get to read about how the first generation of the bikers are doing.
Mercedes and Diesel may have had a rough road, but it wasn’t without an ending that was perfect for them. I can’t wait to read about Skye and Danny next! ~ Leah, 4 stars
Diesel is just super sexy
Mercedes is moving away to college she is so excited to final start her life in her own her dad is super protective but bein in a MC what do u expect they r both very a like super stubborn but luv each other so much but she needs to get away from the MC live an start livin her life an things go until she see the boy who kissed the life out of her an as left her thinkin about him but the thing is he is a total ass
Diesel is a moody ass an can b a bit of a prick an his girlfriend Maxine if even worst I swear I could of slapped her she is just a horrible person but back to Diesel he is the son of a MC member an is the lead singer in the band Wrath he is super popular as school but when Mercedes falls into his life he's knows he's not goin to get rid of this pain in his ass easy
I really enjoyed this book I luv both MC clubs both series r fave so getting them in 1 book is just great then add there kids getting to together an have to fight to stay together is just brilliant the book is full of broody hot men an sassy sexy woman that do push the men's buttons I do luv Mercedes an Diesels relationship it's really hard at the beginnings I did understand Diesels reasons but sometimes he was just so mean to Mercedes that I just wanted to scream at him but her bubbly personality was just strong that he had no choice to to luv her
This is another book I can add to the ever growing list of books I luv from this author I would recommend it for me it was a lil more NA then MC but it was still great I did find a few things annoyin with it but other stuff was great so I didn't really care about the annoyin stuff I just can't wait for more of this series xxx
From the moment I started this book I fell for it hook, line, and sinker and there was no going back...I just devoured it like it was my last day on earth...
description
No point in going into the whole story line...but what I can tell you is that I loved how freaking strong Mercedes was and she totally kicked ass, both figuratively and literally. So when some mean girls start bullying her she fights back...
description
I also loved Mercedes and Diesel's story and how she wouldn't give up on him no matter what...and that's why when she suddenly becomes pretty weak and helpless it didn't fell real to me and I was a little put off...but not enough to stop reading or loving this book.
description
If you're a biker bitch and don't mind a NA spin to it then you'll surely enjoy this one...
Ahhh where to begin, jeesh! I honestly think Drifter was written for a younger crowd. The immaturity made it hard to connect with any of the characters and see them as adults. Any chemistry or relationship that could have been was lost. Not when I'm envisioning pigtails, milkshakes and oooh will you be my friend? Please check yes or no. I expect more out of an MC novels, there has to be an air of seriousness, realism, actual drama verses cattiness and petty jealousies. However you may feel differently in which case.... enjoy!
I liked the 1st book better...this one felt almost NA.
The h chases after the H (even while he's dating someone else). It was okay because the ow was a bitch, however, we get very little romance. Not cool.
Essentially, I went in thinking it was going to be awesome but ended up being an okay read at best.
The MC Sinners Next Generation series, although it has a connection with motorcycle club, it is only in the background of all the stories. More or less. But always talks about how children of parents who are firmly rooted in the club deal with it. And they are doing this very differently.
“The universe had a plan, and it seems everyone is out to try and take that away.”
Mercedes is tired of life as MC brat. She loves her family and the club, but can't wait to leave for college, where she will be able to be more independent and make friends with people outside the club who won't judge her after her connection with MC Sinners. Before leaving, she went to a concert with a friend, where she had quite unexpected interaction with the singer. She thought about him not once since then, so when she saw him on the campus was amazed and excited. Not long.
Diesel is a arrogant prick. He hides behind the facade to keep people away. He is popular and has a girlfriend who keeps everyone at bay. He loves to play music and is struggling with the expectations from his family. He doesn't want that life and doesn't expect anything good for yourself.
“You’re the kind of light that could fix my dark, but I can’t let that happen.”
Diesel's girlfriend Maxine isn't happy with the presence of Mercedes, who is not afraid to stand up to her. But Mercedes doesn't get scare. She sees something in Diesel, even when she learns that their friendship is completely forbidden. He is the son of another MC, what should be a deal breaker, but she doesn't care. Along with her sassy and funny bickering, she makes her way through his walls.
“I don’t . . . I don’t know if I’m doing it right.”
“Being you is doing it right, baby.”
This part connects for us two MC series from Bella Jewel: The MC Sinners and Jokers' Wrath MC. A huge delight for fans! It is something that for me was fantastic. Have an insight not only into one MC family, but also the other (especially that I read Jokers' Wrath series), and see how their families live years later, when their children enter adulthood, it is brilliant feeling. Something for what I love to come back.
I really liked how the story developed and their growing friendship and then relationship, but still... why only 3 stars? Because I'm not a fan of randomness in the story. And here, unfortunately, is a little bit of that. I also struggling with the fact that the main character doesn't do much when the heroine was bullying by his girlfriend at the beginning. And it was a bit teenage drama. He redeemed and their relationship developed great, but the fact remains. Although I love the interactions between them and her constancy in being his friend. It was fun!
“D – Stop texting me.
M – You’ll come to love it, possibly even need it to survive.
D – No, I won’t.
M – You’re such a good friend. I’m so glad we had this talk.
D – You’re a pain in my ass.
M – I miss you too.”
Finally we have also some action related with clubs and it was exciting to see how it's took place. I even wish there were more of this type of action. Overprotective father and club stuff are cool.
I very like the idea for the story and the entire series. I repeats again, this is not a standard MC book, so do not expect it here. It it just story of two MC brat, who must make a life in reality that is not known for young people as they age. I certainly will continue this series because I'm curious how the future will work out for the next characters, which I could already know quite well through these two books.
Why did I wait so long to read this book?! I read book one Pandemonium back in May of 2020 and I kept telling myself I will get to it but GAH I am so mad I waited. Being back in this MC world was everything I thought it would be and Diesel and Mercedes had so much chemistry it was damn near explosive!!
Mercedes and Diesel had the kind of love/hate relationship I live for!! Mercedes instantly wanted Diesel from the moment she met him but Diesel being the stubborn brut he is found that the only way he could handle his feelings was to push her away. When all he wanted was her, but his past is dark, and he is part of a much bigger world than she could even handle. At least, that is what he thinks but unbeknownst to Diesel, Mercedes is very much a part of that world and she can handle the darkness that he carries. What happens when secrets are revealed and both MCs are put on the line? Will they be able to work their club business out or will they be over before things really begin?
Man, I really did love this book sooooo much!! My only complaint is I felt like it ended way too soon. There was still so much of the story that could have been explored but I guess it is better to end the story short versus making it go on longer than necessary. You can't go wrong with this book because you will get everything you could want in a romance; drama, angst and some serious FEELINGS!!
Only suggestion, maybe read the original MC Sinners series first. I didn't and the story made perfect sense, but I felt like if I would have read Spike's story first I would have a much better feel for who he was as a person and a father.
Drifter is book 2 in the MC Sinners Next Generation Series. In this one we have the kids of two of my favorite males from the different series Spike and Mack. Mercedes is Spikes daughter and Diesel is Macks son. Mercedes was really cute, she has an adorable personality and she is immediately drawn to Diesel. Unfortunately for her Diesel is a major jerk whose mean to her. I loved how she wormed her way under his skin until he could think of no one but her. Diesel was just as sexy as his dad but punishes himself for an event that happened when he was younger and is torn because he doesn't want to be president one day. Of course since they're from different MC's their families aren't happy but in the end it all worked out. Now is this series perfect, absolutely not. This is the second book and it's following the same formula, girl falls for boy/man that dad or club doesn't approve of. Dad is out of his mind overprotective of his little girl, trouble finds them and there is a moment of TSTL. Now ask me if I care, absolutely not. I'm loving this series, so on to book 3.
There is not much to say about Bella Jewel's writing.
She is a master of her craft, but if you usually read a lot of MC romance, you already know that.
I am a fan for life :)
"Girls like you will never work with guys like me. I'm dark; it's in my soul. You're light; I saw it the first time I met you. You're the kind of light that could fix my dark, but I can't let that happen. I can't take the chance that I might ruin you."
"His soft voice fills the room, and I get lost in it. I forget everyone around me. I forget to breathe. I just watch and fall even deeper in love with the man on the stage. He sings, his eyes on mine, and I know that for the rest of my days, I don't want to spend a second without him. Not a single second."
Another fabulous addition to the MC Sinners Next Generation series. This book has it all: from angst to romance, to frustration and drama, to action and surprising twists and turns. Now, I'm not going to spoil this book for you, but I will tell you that this book is a lot of fun. I fell in love with Mercedes right away. She wasn't like other girls. She just wanted to make friends and live a normal college life. But, she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself when the situation called for it. Diesel took a little while to grow on me. He was broody and difficult, but I was really intrigued by him. I wanted to know why he behaved the way that he did. And when he allowed to himself to get close to Mercedes, the chemistry these two was off the charts. Now, this book does have a lot of frustrating moments. I found myself wanting to reach through my kindle and slap Diesel a few times, but he quickly saw the light and the error of his ways.
Overall, I found this book to be very entertaining. It was a quick read for me and I was able to finish it in one sitting. I loved the cross-over between Hells Knights and The Joker's Wrath MC. That definitely made for an interesting story-line. And as always, it's always a lot of fun to catch up with some old friends.
I think Drifter is a great addition to the MC Sinners Next Generation series, and I'm really looking forward to seeing whose story we'll get next.
"...you see something in me that no one else does, and I'm fuckin' tired of denying what's in front of me."
After reading Pandemonium I was really curious about Mercedes and how her story would play out. What I loved about this book is how polar opposites Diesel and Mercedes were. Their first meeting didn't go well, the same can be said about the next couple of meetings. Merc is attracted to Diesel and is relentless, she doesn't let him get away from her. Diesel was very mysterious, he pushes Merc away and acts like an asshole. However Merc sees right through his popular, though guy act. She sees through the wall he build around him. Merc made it clear that she and Diesel would be the bestest friends and eventually Diesel can't resist her anymore. Eventually Merc gets Diesel out of his dark broody shell.
"I'd defy every person in my life for him, because he needs me, and more than that- I need him."
Both characters were amazing in my opinion, Merc is this very happy and funny girl who is treasured by her family. Diesel is this moody guy who acts like he doesn't care about anyone or anything. But there is so much going on in his mind and it was just awesome to see how Merc could get to him. Have him open up to her and show her his real face. It was also amazing to see all the previous characters from both the Jokers' Wrath MC and Hell’s Knights MC. I really miss them and I loved reading and see what they all were up to.
The writing like always is great, the pace of the story was done well. There wasn't a moment I was bored or wanted to skip pages. The character development was really good. Especially that of Diesel, I loved that he resisted as long as he did. It added another dimension to the story. Bella Jewel is one of my favorite author and I always get excited when she releases a new book. I can't wait for the next book in this series to release.
My only issue was how immature the college students were. It also ate at me that Mercy had no clue who D was until she met his family. It also bugged me that the Joker MC didn't know who she was when clearly Danny knew the whole MC. Other than that I'm a sucker for romance so you guessed it.... I loved it. Moreover, it turned me on to the Jokers MC spin-off.
I love it when an author creates a fictional world with spin-off series. I have only read a couple others that have done that successfully, such as Patricia Briggs, JR Ward, Deborah Bladdon, Rachel Mead just to name a few. I fall fast and hard for series that spin off others building a magnificent reading escape.
Well done Bella Jewel.
Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance was well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!
Oh lordy! Where do I begin? This story really was a mess. For one thing it was rushed which is a problem I find with a lot of Ms. Jewel’s books. I have said this before but she is a hit or miss for me. I felt zero connection between Diesel and Mercy. It’s one thing for an author to tell me they are a couple; it’s another for the author to make me feel it. I felt like Mercy and Diesel were high school kids with their juvenile behavior.
If you are fan of the crossover of the Sinners/Joker’s you might like this. Even though I love them I felt too much time was spent recapping us on every stinking character.
Now that being said I have a Bella Jewel book addiction and I will still read the next book in the series. Here to hoping it will be better.
Neste livro os filhos dos dois moto clubes se encontram e se apaixonam.
O herói é o popular do campus e a namorada dele uma bruxa.
A heroína é cheia de atitude e com uma personalidade cativante.
Tem um pouco de drama tipo Romeu e Julieta e uma ameaça de inimigos do clube.
A história é leve e mais parece jovem adulto, mas gostei e recomendo!
Nothing special. I did like both Hero and heroine but I didn't really feel the love between them. They were "friends" for most of the book before they even started a relationship, although both had feelings early on.
They finally get together (first sex scene) at 60%.
I was so happy when I saw this was Diesel's book, that meant more Mack! I loved that this book brought both the MC's together. What a perfect read. There are so many kids between the two books that there should be lots of books in this series!! Can't wait!!
4 I forget to breathe Stars
I hadn't realized this book was going to be about Mercedes and Diesel. It was a good surprise though. I just want to point out straight of the bat I LOVE Diesel! Diesel is Mack's son from Jokers Wrath series and Mercedes is Spike's daughter from MC Sinners series
Diesel was dark and so adorable, although that might not be the right word to describe him. I just Couldn't help but think it thought out this book!
"Girls like you will never work with guys like me. I'm dark; it's in my soul. You're light; I saw it the first time I met you. You're the kind of light that could fix my dark, but I can't let that happen. I can't take the chance that I might ruin you."
Mercedes had some set of balls on her and was just not afraid to speak her mind and at times I cringed and went "uh no girl don't say that." But on the order hand it was entertaining.
As always with Bella Jewel I loved this book and in my eyes she can do no wrong! If you like Mc Books this is for you! If you haven't read any Mc Books, you need to get yourself a Bella Jewel book!
BLURB
They say opposites attract. In my world that isn’t a good thing. I did everything I could to escape the motorcycle club I grew up in when I turned twenty-one. It wasn’t about fear, or betrayal, or even lack of love. I just needed my own life. I had to know how it felt to stand on my own two feet without their protection.
Then I met Diesel. Mysterious, dark, with eyes that screamed to be understood.
From the second I met him, I knew I needed to be in his life. There’s just one problem – he’s a member of a different motorcycle club. Two things that should never be combined. Yet I can’t stay away. No matter how hard he pushes. I can see beyond his mask. I need to know who he is and I’ll overcome any obstacle to be in his life.
A friendship is born, followed by an epic love.
Our relationship is forbidden.
But I’ll do anything to be in his life.
Anything..
This review is so hard to write! I've never rated a Bella Jewel book as low as this, she's an auto one-click for me, I've always really loved her books. This one however just didn't do it for me, it just fell short.
This is the story of Deisel (Jayla and Mack's son from the Joker's Wrath MC) and Mercedes (Ciara and Spike's daughter from the Knight's Sinner MC). This was the one I was waiting for, a Sinner's kid and a Joker's kid getting together? Holy freaking crap, I was so excited about the prospect of this! But the reality of it left me kind of disappointed. The book felt rushed, in my opinion it was not up to the quality of Bella Jewel's normal work, to the point where sometimes I thought, if I didn't know better I wouldn't even know I was reading a Bella Jewel book. I felt the characters were immature for college aged kids, it felt like I was reading about 14-15 year old high schoolers. A lot of the things they did/said made me cringe, there were quite a few cheesy moments. Maybe I built it up in my head too much and that's why I was left disappointed? I think that could have added to it but I do also firmly believe this book was not of the quality of Bella's usual work.
Having said all that I just cannot rate a book involving 2 of my favourite MC characters lower than I have. The Joker's Wrath MC and the Sinner's MC both have a heavy presence in this book and that was a saving grace for me because I always love catching up with them.
I really loved Pandemonium, the first book of the Next Generation series and I hope the next one she has in the pipe line is as good as that, and that this one was just a one off hiccup.
It's either I love a book or not. I hate it when I don't know how I feel. I feel like I am stuck in the middle and just like , now what?
When he’s looking at me like that, and when he’s speaking to me the way he is, I can’t tell him no. Hell, I don’t even want to. Because I do trust him, and I do believe in him.
I have been waiting for Mercedes book for a while! She interested me as a character and on reading, I wasn't disappointed.
She was strong, stubborn and a beautiful pain in the ass. A perfect mix!! I loved her and her spunk. She was so bubbly and fun, I don't mind having her as a best friend!!
“I did it for us. Those words mean everything to me. They mean you saw me when nobody else did. They mean you believed, even when I didn’t. They mean you freed me.”
Diesel was a jerk. I didn't like him at first. Even when we got to know why he acts like this, I wasn't convinced. He kept pushing everyone away and sticking with the wrong people, it didn't feel right. And suddenly, he changed and fell for Mercedes hard and fast. It was pretty quick and not that intense so I was caught off guard, but I didn't really hate him.
I don't know if I loved this book or no. It was a really quick read for me, I didn't get bored and I enjoyed it. But I wasn't blown away, I was feeling neutral.
I loved the mixing between the two clubs, but I felt like there were moments of exaggeration.
Glad this ended on a happy note. After their rough start, Diesel and Mercedes were meant to be. Despite being a drifter, she found him, loved him, saved him and completed him.
