This was an excellent adaptation of the movie. It added some more context to some of the characters, and had a slightly different epilogue than the movie. And I would say the change in the book to the epilogue makes it even better.

Whoa. Quite a different epilogue than in the film.

I really enjoyed starting Blade. I had a lot of fun with him making his way through the vampire hordes so smoothly. Once he started dragging Karen Jansen around I was less thrilled, but nevertheless found the story to still be at a good place all in all. That she manages to cure herself is most impressive. I enjoyed Deacon Frost as an antagonist, mostly up until the LaMagra maneuver at the end.

I began to lose some interest around the midway to end point of the novel, though perhaps because I kept being interrupted before I could read very far at a time. I think the author chose a few outs with his description(ie Quinn smiled evilly) at times but on the whole there weren't really any mistakes that I remember coming across.

Since I've already seen the movie when I was younger I knew that Blade's mother would survive in some capacity, but I'd forgotten just what role she actually fulfilled for Frost and to hinder Blade himself.

The end with Whistler being a vampire messing around in Russia was either something I'd also forgotten about or else that was left to the book, and as a result was a surprise. I was expecting a preview of the new vampire type as seen in Blade 2.

In closing, not the best book I've read this year or the last, but the best book I've read in the past few months. I may proceed to Blade: Trinity after this, as I don't know if a novel was ever written for the second film.

A very interesting and detailed novelization of the famous vampire movie "Blade" based on the comic book character who is half human and half vampire. It's hard to determine which is more cinematic, the book or the movie, because both of them compliment each other nicely. The novelization is done is detailed, yet pleasantly loving style that is both engrossing and easy to read. No deep philosophy here, just pure action adventure horror tale from start to finish. Something to read on a subway, bus or a beach, this book can be enjoyed anywhere. The Blade is sharp!

I really like novelizations of films, and this was no exception. I wasn’t expecting much when I started it, but found myself really looking forward to my reading time (metro trips to and from work)

This novel was written off the original screen play so there are some slight differences in the story (very minor - except the epilogue is completely different and better than the film)

The book is very simply written but throws you headlong into the action sequences and keeps you interested in between. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone look for some light, good fun, vampire book.
