Keeah, Julie, Neal, Galen, and Max know they need to do whatever it takes to stop Eric and Gethwing-- even if it means putting their old friend in harm's way.
But Gethwing is planning something more terrifying than even Galen can predict. And with Eric at his side, he may be unstoppable. . .

(Possibly my first Scholastic Book Fair purchase — from so long back I can't remember which year it was)
I cannot overstate the impact this one book has had on my reading preferences. I SO wanted to read this entire series but was severely limited by their availability. ;-;
Eric is now the evil Prince Ungast, and a very unpleasant snotty character makes a reappearance. Gethwing is just as evil as ever, we see Sparr's car again, and things are extremely dire by the ending. I love reading this series with my daughter.
I've decided to read The Secrets of Droon series entirely for Christmas since i've been feeling a bit nostalgic. I want to be able to live a bit of the magic of being a kid and what beeter to help than this incredible series. I know that this series is for young kids but i feel it will still be great after all these years. A powerful and dark adventure where it seems that no good will survive. It seems like everything in Droon will be overrun by evil. This book was full of twists, surprises and magic. This is one of the darkest and action packed books of the series. I didn't remember it taking such a dark and hopeless turn but just as you think everything has finished we receive hope for the future.
The bad guys are about to win...they gather they strengthen but, there is a faint glimmer of hope at the end of the book. Good thing that my son can explain what happens to everyone since I haven't read all the books in the series. Good vs. evil but not too dark or scary for independent readers as long as it isn't night time.
So I'm not up-to-date but... Eric's bad?? Hahahh I knew he was too good to not be bad! Lol jkjk. But the last I read he had glimpses of evilness and red sparks, Kudos to Lord Sparr;) Back to the point! : Evil Eric? Sure, yeah I'm game>)
