Is life making you grumpy? Have you ever suspected that your bed is the only bed in town with two wrong sides? It would be nice if we were always at our best, and if "happily ever after" were an unwritten guarantee. We all want fairy tale lives. But the truth is, even Snow White came from a dysfunctional family and lived with a man named Grumpy. If you feel stressed, disillusioned, or simply worn-out by life, take heart. In the tradition of Just Hand Over the Chocolate and No One Will Get Hurt, Karen Linamen delivers humor that will lift your spirits and insights that will help you experience true healing, entertain new hope, encounter fresh passion, and embrace vibrant joy.
This is the second book that I've read by Karen Linamen. I was intrigued by both of them because of the clever titles. The first, JUST HAND OVER THE CHOCOLATE AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT was a quick fun read. And this installment was such a fun escape to read after all the tense political and Covid energies of the last few years. Thank you for making me smile!
It was enjoyable reading, I am glad not very psychiatric or psychological. I can relate myself to many things she has mentioned in the book. I loved the chapter "Fall in love with your kids". It is true we love our kids but to fall in love with them can bring change into our grumpy lives. Even if the whole book doesn't relate to you, still you would find few things going on right now in your married life.
This book was exactly what I needed for just a quick sit down to read and chuckle. Though obviously written by a christian woman, a lot of the advice is good for a woman who just needs to smile. "Exercise. Listen to Music. Breathe. Eat a little chocolate. Laugh. Make love. Hang onto your hope. - Karen Scalf Linamen"
A follow-on from Just Hand Over the Chocolate.... in the same style. More useful and practical advice for anyone who is wondering why life dealt them a bum hand! I haven't quite finished reading it but I just had to lend it to a friend that I knew needed it more than I did!
Funny title and the humor continues throughout the book. She talks about the differences between fantasy life (and watching life on tv) and living in reality.
Good entertaining information on relationships, kids, dieting, etc. Told with humor and compassion. Listened to the audio version. This woman is a potential stand up comedian.
