This second edition of Java Programming: From Problem Analysis to Program Design continues to offer readers a truly student-focused approach to the introductory Java course. In addition to extensive examples and exercise sets, this text offers at least one complete Programming Example at the end of each chapter that contains the stages of Input, Output, Problem Analysis and Algorithm Design, and a Complete Program Listing. Utilizing extensive visual diagrams and accurate full-color code, Dr. Malik's programming texts have proven highly successful for beginning programming students.
I really like this textbook. It's informative and worth keeping as reference in the future. It's not light reading but if you are willing it is worth the mental exhaustion.
Another quarter. Another opportunity to yet again be completely confused by a programming text.
Ok finished this text and OMG compared to everything else out there in the object oriented programming category, it is so awesome! I did not send this book back.
The reading was incredibly dry and boring. I actually found myself falling asleep. However, it was informative and helped me have a better understanding of Java. Unfortunately, I had to look into alternatives to the book (youtube videos & apps mostly) because I simply couldn't read it for any real stretch of time.
I used this book to know JAVA since I didn't take it yet.. It was some how useful but I was looking for specific points in JAVA... I liked this programming language .. It's so friendly , interesting and easier than any other ones.
I felt Java for dummies was better in the way of teaching an imbecile some basic through advanced Java skills. This book was an advanced book trying to teach a novice how to code. It was effective when used in conjunction with other resources.
