Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
He and his wife, Carol, started their family in Tallahassee where Tedd worked as a commercial illustrator. Carol, a kindergarten teacher, drew Tedd's attention to children's books. Their first son, Walter, inspired his breakthrough picture book, NO JUMPING ON THE BED!.
He and his family now live in Elmira. His second son, William, now stars in NO MORE WATER IN THE TUB!, a sequel to his first book. He has now published over 50 books as author and illustrator.
Neo’s back with some more Fly Guy to entertain all his fans. It’s almost time for the Big Game, with Buzz and Fly Guy ready to play football. However, Coach is not ready to allow Fly Guy on the team, particularly after a less than stellar practice. Buzz and Fly Guy practice all the same and are ready for anything that might happen. On the day of the game, things are looking good, but an injury all but seals the home team’s fate. Coach looks the Fly Guy, sure it will be a disaster. Neo has taken the lead on this series, with easy words and a simple flow to the story. He did so well and has a pile of books in this series, ready to impress all those who have ten minutes to listen!
Julianna and I took turns reading this book. She knew some sight words and Mommy helped with other words. She said that are Not easy. She gives the book 1 star and says its because the coach laughed at the fly guy and buzz and she did not like that. I found the story a little boring so agree with 1 star. Although it had cute illustrations and told about a boy and his pet fly playing football it was a bit borong overall. Lol

"Hooray for Fly Guy" is a a part of an early chapter book series. Each chapter connects to the last chapter. In this book there were only two chapters and the illustrations really helped carry the book. I would recommend this for advanced young readers or struggling older readers. Due to the fact that there are very few words, and the themes and vocabulary are not that complex, I would say this book would be great for a first/second grade classroom. This book could be used in a classroom to engage young readers who may be advanced in reading, or older readers who may be struggling. The "Fly Guy" series is about Buzz and Fly Guy and their friendship. In "Hooray for Fly Guy", Buzz and Fly Guy want Fly Guy to join the football team. In this book there are elements of humor, this could be engaging to some readers.
I have seen many children reading the Fly Guy series books. They are easy low level chapter books for beginner readers. In this Hooray For Fly Guy! book Fly Guy and Buzz want to play football but coach tells them that flies cannot play football. Fly Guy and Buzz prove the coach wrong. They play football and are actually good at it. This is a funny book that shows the fly playing football. This books is very engaging for students and gives them a good laugh.
Fly Guy is one of literary heroes and this book does not disappoint. It is very adorable and cleverly written. The story helps children to learn about football. It contains three short chapters and a plot with an emotional arch. The very large, sparse, bold text make it easy to read, but the chapters and plot make it feel like a big kid's book.
I am not the greatest fan of Fly Guy but my son seems to like it. The illustrations are good and the message of the story is a good one (you are never to small to make a difference.) On the other hand, the book kind of assumes that kids understand the rules of timing in football and this proved to be confusing for my boys.
Hooray For Fly Guy! by Tedd Arnold Hooray For Fly Guy! by Tedd Arnold, 2008. This book is about a fly that proves the world wrong about fly's not being able to play football, and is engaging with some elements of humor. The illustrations were great and really helped carry on the book. Recommended for advanced young readers or struggling older readers.
It was a great book and I did not know that they can actually do that. This was my first football book in Fifth Grade it was crazy somebody getting injured then fly guy had to join the game. I did not know that a fly can be that smart and do a touchdown dance. I wonder if not only humans can watch a football game but a fly too just bly flying.
Cute story about not giving up and always trying your best. I read this with my student and he was able to read all the words carefully. He was so proud when he finished this short chapter book! :)
This book was a lot of fun for my little football fan to read. He was cracking up at fly guy and his secret play against the other team. Once fly guy gets the chance to show the team that he can handle himself while playing on the field, he is able to help his team win the game.
This book is one of the series, and it is typical of the style and content of the other books. Short, simple, clean, and good for early readers. My 6 year old LOVES these!
Fly Guy is here to prove that a fly can do anything he puts his mind to. Read this with my seven year old nephew and it was great to keep his attention and teach a little lesson about how everyone can make a contribution to a team.
category- Tedd Arnold project Tedd Arnold has many children's books that make children laugh. His pictures are engaging and comical as well. Most of the activities are generic and students may be able to relate.
It's another adventure with Buzz and Fly Guy. The story was cute and my 3 kids liked hearing me read it. A good book for beginner readers. I would recommend this book to others.
I like this book. I like that Fly Guy is told that he is too small but he still gets to play. It is a good book. Not a great book. That's why it is 4 stars and not 5.
Shoo Fly plays football, I wasn’t a huge fan. I like books with morals, where I can pass on something. This teaches dirty play...maybe concentrate on friendship!
Well, we're GA Bulldog fans, absolutely NOT Gator fans. However, the kids loved the book. It was super cute and my children are currently working on their touchdown dance.
