Another simple recipe book of yummy and healthy treats for kids and tweens (and their families!). Barbara Beery has created and collected and marvelous book of recipes easy enough for littles to make with help of grown up. I plan on using these to entertain my little guests this summer. After crafts, we head to the kitchen to whip up lunch! This book will be a big help in teaching kids to cook, and, for the picky eater, a chance to sample some new things and maybe learn to like them!

This was cute. Didn't realize it was a kids' cookbook. Who can resist a book with mermaid in the title? It is definitely a kids' book but would be great inspiration if you were having a beach themed party.

There was nothing particularly mermaid-y about this. Just cute names for things.

A collection of sugary recipes with mermaid-themed names. There are some good for ideas for a birthday party, but the recipes do not really fulfill the mermaid look or theme.

Some good recipes. Some I already make they just change the name and add more ingredients.

Disappointed with this one. :/
The other themed cookbooks by Barbara Beery are amazing! I wish this one would have been more themed according to how the other ones were. These were mostly just everyday recipes given an "Under The Sea" title instead of actually looking like they would belong at a mermaid party. I found more for my daughter's mermaid party in the fairy and princess cookbooks than out of the one FOR this type of party!!! I got one, ONE recipe out of this cookbook for the WHOLE PARTY!!! And that was stretching!!!

This book is really fun for kids, espically if you have a sweet tooth. The colors all around the book just make it seem more persuading to read it. Once I showed my friends they all just wanted to borrow it.

This book was cute, but I liked the Princess cupcake book better. It has mermaid and tropical themed food, but there were only a couple of recipes that really caught my eye.
