Jax Wheeler has been fighting his own demons for as long as he can remember. One of those demons is from his past, a brother who wants nothing more to see Jax suffer. Working closely with the Cincinnati Branch of the VC Warriors Jax never thought he would find someone who could help him ease his pain, but he was wrong.

Having a past of her own, Caroline Fitzpatrick has survived being put into a trance by a madman who wanted to control her sister, an abusive relationship, communicating with the dead, but nothing has prepared her for Jax Wheeler. From the moment she saw him the attraction was immediate, but the attraction was not mutual or was it?

The more Jax tries to stay away from Caroline, the more he finds himself at her door, in her life. All he knows is that every minute he spends with the beautiful school teacher, the more danger he puts her in. His brother’s vengeance of wanting him to suffer has put Caroline in the line of fire and only Jax can protect her.

This is one of my favorite series and Jax was a good addition. He is uber hot and alpha. I loved Caroline. She was just what he needed.

Looking forward to Sloane's book!

Once again this author has added another wonderful addition to a fantastic and favorite series!

Jax Wheeler is part of the VC Warriors, who protects vampires and humans alike. But Jax is different from his fellow Warriors because he is a shifter, who can shift into any human he has had contact with and also any animal. He has so much darkness in his life, mostly because of his evil brother, Mika, a shifter like himself who is determined to cause misery in Jax’s life, and will hurt and kill anyone Jax cares for. And even though Jax has been attracted to Caroline since the moment he met her, he refuses to give into this attraction, and thereby placing her in danger. But no matter how hard he tries to stay away from her, he just can’t ignore the pull she has on him, and he finds himself seeking her out again and again.

Caroline is a schoolteacher, who can see and communicate with the dead. She has a traumatic past of her own, and an abusive ex who just won’t leave her alone. And even though she can’t help the attraction she feels towards Jax, she believes him indifferent to her. But then Mika finds out Jax’s weakness when it comes to Caroline, and is determined to once again take away someone Jax cares for. And Jax will have to do anything he can to protect the only woman who means the world to him.

At that very moment, he knew without a doubt he could never let Caroline Fitzpatrick go. He was a selfish fuck because of it, but he couldn't walk away. Hell, how many damn times had he tried and always found himself back, just to be near her? Searching her out, hoping for a glimpse of her? Every single fucking moment of his fucked-up days she was in the back of his mind.

I just loved this book! The romance between Caroline and Jax was hawt and just delicious. And damn these VC Warriors are so sexy when they get possessive over their females! I just loved Jax, and Caroline was perfect for this stubborn and sexy shifter.

The fight against Mika has been accumulating since Slade’s book, and I must say the final battle between Jax and Mika was quite bloodthirsty, which I really liked.

Of course all the VC Warriors and their mates were present in this book, and Slade and Jill my absolute favorite couple, had many page time. Steve was hilarious as always, and I laughed myself silly at all his antics :-D

"What I want to know is when the fuck am I going to get some awesome powers? I mean, seriously, people. Jill can do the Carrie shit. Now Adam can lurk in our minds without us even knowing, which means I'll be thinking of naked men… a lot." When everyone looked at Steve oddly, he cleared his throat, rolling his eyes. "Not because I want to. Come on, I'm a ladies' man, but it will keep 'creeper boy' out of my head. Geez, can't say nothing around here without everyone taking it literally."

I am so looking forward to grouchy and moody Sloan’s book which is next. That man is just yummy, and I cannot wait to see him brought to his knees by love!!!!

Everyone has that one book or series they re-read when they’re in a book funk, or just came from reading an awful or very emotional book, and this series is that for me. This series is one of my all-time favorites, and every time I need an uplifting book with some sexy warriors and great romance, I just read this series. And Jax was everything I hoped for.

I just love this series, and I hope it never ends.

Jax and Caroline. Not my fave in the series but it was still a good read. I found the first half a little slow to get into, but the second half was better. Jax's life has been on hold for many years since he is cursed with an evil brother, Mikal who is determined to kill anyone he cares about. Not really a stand alone, the whole series is pretty intertwined and now it intertwines with the author's other series that focus's on shifters. I liked Caroline, she never balks at telling Jax when he's being an asshat. I didn't get much of a feel for Jax. He wasn't as strong a character as Sid or Slade. The justice served at the end was kinda bloody, but didn't bother me too much (and I am a squeamish person!). The epilogue was hijacked by a teaser for Sloan's story which is coming next. There was some pretty funny stuff revolving around Jill looking for a secretary for him...
That's gonna be weird, as I have always pictured Sloan as more of an 'Ed Eisner' from 'Mary Tyler Moore', than a hot alpha...

This one was one of the better in the series. I liked Jax even though he kept pushing her away and sending mixed signals. But I liked how he could not let her go even when he did. Caroline was a good heroine. She did not take his shit. The story was fast moving and had lots of action and seemed more focused on the couple than the overall plot.

While she had a pain in the ass ex, I do not remember OW drama for a change! Thank goodness!

You know everyone of these books I have loved, I mean really loved following the journey. To be able to read more and more about these characters has been an absolute pleasure.

This is Jax's story and just as mind blowing as the rest. Jax is a powerful Warrior, he's had to live through a lot of suffering and his evil brother wants him to suffer some more, well actually his goal is to make Jax suffer his entire existence.

Caroline the sister of Lana who is hopelessly in love with our awesome Sid has had suffering of her own which you will hear about in previous books but in this book she is ready to make a life for herself. She has a serious crush on Jax and who can blame her, he exudes power and has the body to die for but he is the non commitment type of guy, apparently having thousands of women over the years. Oh yes I can well believe that.

They both have a mutual attraction but Caroline is the only one putting herself out there and keeps getting hurt. It's not that Jax doesn't want her but it's not safe for her to be with him. His brother is always going to be in the background reining as much terror as possible.

Caroline has an ex, well we all do but some just don't take no for an answer well Jax needs to change that because when Doug the ex from hell shows up he's playing with fire. Jax is ready to go nuclear on him. Just like in previous books the VC Warriors have each others backs and this guy along with Jax's brother has picked a fight with the wrong people.

Guess what? I have reached the end of my Warrior reading and honestly I am gutted. Luckily when I reached the end of this book, I read that we are going to read Sloan's story in the future, I can't wait. This series has been exceptional, written with pure brilliance.

My note to the Author.

Dear Author. Thank you so much for sharing your Warriors, I have enjoy this Series immensely and happy dancing that it's not over. I would love to hear Blaze and Hunter's sorry as well as fun loving Steve. Yep huge hint LOL!! but if you don't ask you don't get.

Readers, have you started reading yet? What are you waiting for? This series ticks everyone of my boxes. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Usually I am far from a Paranormal Romance kind of girl and in truth I actually stay completely clear of them because though I love Vampires I feel that this sub genre of Romance easily becomes far too erotic for my liking.

HOWEVER, when I was gifted this book I decided to give it a go and I am pleased to say that I absolutely loved this story. It is my first book of The Protectors series and thereby there was a few times I felt like I were missing small pieces; for example the knowledge of how Jax and Caroline met. Though I didn't know these details the book nonetheless managed to have me in its grip and I completely fell in love with Jax to the extent that I feel it ended far too soon.. I NEED MORE!!

So my conclusion is this: JAX is a well written, sexy story about an alpha male that leaves your heart beating out your chest and though it is very sexy it is far from jumping into the genre which is Erotica. It has a great plot and the story is well thought out. These all adding up to create a great book :)

Engrossing! Riveting! Outstanding!

To say that I loved it, does not do justice to this book. Teresa out did herself on this one. So much angst. So very much action. Jax is drop dead gorgeous. He's been running from emotions for a very long time. Caroline makes him feel. What, he can't look at, until his POS brother is gotten rid of. Mika his POS brother. Is hell bent to make Jax suffer. As the story unfolds, We get to see all the rest of the Warriors we have come to know and love. Plus all the Warriors mates. There are some very sexy scenes. Love the car one! Not gonna tell, you have to read the book. This book made me LOL. It made me gasp. It also made me cry. Got you interested yet? Jill made a very big mess that had me laughing so hard. Sid had some very interesting things to say! Come on what are you waiting for. Get your copy today. From a true Fan... Pam James

Jax Wheeler has been fighting his own demons for as long as he can remember and he knows the more time he spends with Caroline the more danger he puts her in this enthralling paranormal romance. The Protectors continue to be their usual, tough-guy selves with lots of friendly ribbing which just invites readers to join in on the fun and excitement…even the dangerous parts because these guys are just so sexy when they are doing their protecting thing and Jax totally captured my heart with everything that he’s been through and Caroline couldn’t be a better mate for him which made the wait for this story worth it, of course, now I have to wait for Sloan’s book.

I'm a fan of this series but Jax and Caroline aren't my favorite characters and I felt a there was a little lack of character depth for Jax. Caroline was alright but a bit wishy washy for me. I don't know I just didn't connect with these two characters like I did the rest of the characters in the series. Still there were some funny moments and I love catching up with all the characters from the earlier books.

I rated this a 4.25-4.50 stars but rounded up.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

OH MAN!! Jax Wheeler!! He is no Jared mind you but the man is pretty amazing.

Jax and Caroline had been totally dancing around each other the last book. SO I was finally glad to see their story be told. Jax, of course is an island and doesn’t need anyone…typical Warrior. Caroline’s the sweet school teacher who has a crazy outta control nurturing side. That same nurturing side that makes Jax Wheelers walls crumble because no one has ever taken care of HIM. No one had ever bandaged a cut or took the time to make sure he is ok but damn it if this human isn’t making it tough to stay away from her.

Caroline and Jax are at this crazy stand still in their “relationship” and boy did I love Sloane stepping up to the plate to make Jax put up or shut up for Caroline…way to go Boss Man…also looking forward to you getting your butt handed to you in the next book but back to Jax and Caroline.

Mika is after Caroline for the intense purpose of causing Jax pain. When Jax tells Caroline the whole sorted details of the family history, sad doesn’t even begin to tell you how I felt. Mika is just evil and needed to be taken care of WARRIOR STYLE!!

Jax and Caroline had some troubles with communicating through the book but then when they can step back and see the other person’s perspective, they do both grow as a couple. Granted you want to kill Jax for being so stubborn because let’s face it, THAT Warrior is a hard nut to crack.
The side stories of finding Sloane a secretary….OMG TOOOOO MUCH!! Plus Steve is always a there for a funny laugh. The vampire just hasn’t learned when to shut his mouth…I mean he got a detention and he isn’t even in SCHOOL anymore…BWHAHAHAHAH!!!!

For me the book was great but I felt the ending was a smidge rushed at the ending The conflict at the end seemed a little bit fast and I almost thought the story was going to carry over to the next book. But the story is an awesome read and anyone who is a fan will love this installment!!

I don't know how many different ways I can say how much I enjoy the series as a whole with each new character introduced you dive into the world more and more wanting to know about each and every one of them and see them each get their HEAs.

Jax and Caroline were gonna happen we all knew it and now we get to see how it all plays out.

Jax had been tracking his brother for years pushing people away knowing that anytime anyone got close to him they would die but this time he can't. Pushing her away is what he knows he should do in his head but for some reason he keeps coming back.

Caroline definitely didn't have it easy with her previous relationship and the abuse he put her through she knows now what she wants in a man and she knows Jax is the man for her if only she can convince him.

She might be a school teacher but she is anything but quiet and shy, she is feisty and knows what she wants.

Jax has lived without love for so long that he doesn't recognize it when it's staring him in the face but I love seeing how he grew into understanding his feelings. He is bossy and a total Alpha and that makes him all the more awesome.

In this one we see things come to a head with his brother as they work to take him down once and for all. And I absolutely loved the way the story ended!

Great as always! I have read all the books and have lived them all! Jax and Caroline were touching. They both grew as individuals and as a couple. They had their missteps and was good to see that it just wasn't instant perfect. That is what I like about this series no instant perfect! So like the real world.

Ghosts of the past do need solved before you can face the future. Mika was dangerous but didn't scare the crap out of me and that is why I didn't give the total 5 stars...he was an anticlimactic villain of sorts and I didn't read at a vicious pace to see what was going to happen. The result seemed already know from the start. That was the only drawback of the book.

Great read I will read the next one. I can't wait for Sloan to get his HEA!

Sama sekali tak jelek, cuma bukan karakter faveku.

My rating :
Star : 3/5
Bikini : 3/5

4.25 rating. Loved it. Ms. Gabelman once again tugs you into the world of vampires and their mates. And Jax and Caroline's story is a great addition to this series. Once I started reading this book I was immediately SUCKED IN. Excellence character and plot development. The story between them just makes you want more. I highly recommend this series. You will want to read them in order to fully grasp the storyline progression. I truly enjoyed the world of the VC Warriors. I know you will as well. Impatiently waiting for Sloan's Story:D. Yay!

So Good

There are not a lot of books that I wish did not end but this is definitely one of them. Avid readers know what I mean. You read fast to see what is going to happen next but then you want to slow down to savor it. But then you want to get to the end to see how it turns out. But when you finish the book you are heart sick because it is done. Yep, sounds a little schizophrenic I know, but so, so true. This was a fabulous book with a great ending. Love, love, loved it.

Love The Protectors series. After finishing Jax I can't decide who my favorite is. I really enjoyed Jax and Caroline's story. Jax was so yummy and I loved that Caroline was so persistent. I also really liked how Jax owned it once he realized he loved Caroline he claimed her and that was that. This book really has piqued my interest in Blaze as well as how Ms. Becky is going to ignore Sloan and thereby goad him. It's going to be good!!!!!!!

Read this and sloans a bit arse backwards but it didn't ruin anything for me.
I love these books! There laced with inappropriate humor, sarcastic Witt, a disfunctional family feel and a good bit of sexual suspense. The storyline flowed seamlessly and the characters are a pleasure to read.

Looking forward to number 10!!

VC Warrior/Interrogator Jax Wheeler remains as elusive as a butterfly as far as committing to schoolteacher Caroline Fitzpatrick. With his troublesome brother still on a terrorist spree, Jax feels it’s best that his friends and especially Caroline stay away from him until Mika is captured. Little does Jax know, Mika has launched a two-pronged strike.

Caroline isn’t as afraid for herself as she is for her twin Lana when she has a nightmare featuring the warrior with their mates, her resident ghost and Mika himself complete with a haunting tune. Adding to Caroline’s stress is her ex Rod, who doesn’t seem to listen very well as he tracks her down to her new isolated home in the woods.

Mika is recruiting shifters to create their own council behind him as a platform against the warriors. The mates have a new project… they’re setting the stage for the next outing by looking for a secretary for Sloan. Meanwhile, the warriors are trying to come up with a workable plan to destroy Mika before he gains too much power or injures Caroline.

Jax’ reputation plus the guilt tormenting him over his actions toward his siblings has been told through previous meaty cameos and unfortunately this full outing didn’t add much more depth to his character.

In this reader’s opinion the weakest link in the read were the pages with the extremely wearying Caroline (almost as exhausting as Pam) and I found myself skimming through the first half of the book Villainous Mika’s thread was surprisingly light in first half of the read which actually began slowly and picked up the pace as the read progressed.

So the thing about these books is that the men are always, always right. Even when they’re being assholes, it’s always justified, and the heroines are somehow required to apologize and shoulder some of the blame. The heroines are always wrong for doubting the heroes. The VC warriors are always acting for the “protection” of the heroines, thus justifying their overbearing heavy-handededness and mind games.

I’m enjoying this series but there’s a through-line of misogyny and sexism, alongside performative feminism (“strong women”), in every book. I’m reading these back-to-back so I’m probably tired of these blockheaded men.

These men don’t respect these women as equals; they may spout language claiming to appreciate these strong women, but ultimately they just want to be domineering alpha assholes all under the guise of “protection.”

Jax’s I-need-to-stay-away-but-I-can’t-stay-away routine got really old, really quickly. It wasn’t just that he couldn’t stay away from Caroline, but he forcibly intruded on her life, constantly. I wish Caroline had more of a spine. The author is always claiming the women are stronger than the men in these books because they’re willing to be honest and vulnerable about their feeling. I agree, to a point; eventually all of these women fall for these emotionally constipated assholes, despite “knowing better”, but even worse is that these men know exactly what’s going on—they know what the women are feeling and they pretty deliberately withhold their feelings while still trying to maintain a controlling presence over the women’s lives.

This may have been my favourite book of the series yet.

Jax is one of the newer characters in the series that was brought in to help with training the half breeds. His past is something that he avoids talking about, and this just makes me more interested in his character. I loved seeing his struggle with his feeling towards Caroline; seeing how he finds emoting and loving someone, and being loved, a totally foreign concept. I loved seeing how over the course of this story, Jax really opens up and lets go of some of his inner demons and stops holding out on Caroline, and finally lets himself make her a priority. I think Caroline's character is great. I love how she goes into teacher mode and puts all the Warriors in their place without taking any BS. I really like the way that she and Jax bounce off each other, with neither one really being prepared to back down on what they want and never being able to stay mad.

I can't wait for Blaze's story, so I'm now going to go and plow my way through Sloan's book (which I'm sure is going to be wonderful).

This is a great addition to the series and I totally recommend that you read it.

Jax & Caroline

This book was so very frustrating (in a good way) because Jax was so back and forth it drove Caroline nuts. I swear I laughed even more throughout this book. Steve is hilarious definitely “diarrhea of the mouth” as he puts it. My ribs hurt from laughing so hard. Jax being the very complicated Warrior American Indian that he is was so much fun to read. His brooding demeanor amongst his badass attitude seemingly doesn’t endear him to anyone. However, Caroline sees right through his tough outer shell and learns the true Jax. Love her phone password by the way. Also love how Jax tells her he loves her in his native language for the first time. I also laughed so hard when Jill got herself in the predicament and all the Warriors were outside trying to diffuse the situation without hurting anyone. I actually laughed so hard I cried. Even now I’m chuckling remembering it.
Thank you for continuing to write more books. I’m loving this series!!

I really enjoyed Jax and Caroline's story. Jax has a past that is bloody and painful one that he doesn't talk about to anyone. And when his brother comes back to kill anyone Jax holds dear again things start to get real for him and Caroline. Caroline is strong she doesn't take shit from anyone she is never going to settle or be a door mat for another man again after a bad break up with her former fiance. Caroline puts it all out there for Jax multiple times and it get pushed back in her face time and time again. Jax doesn't really know what he is feeling for Caroline all he knows is he can't stop thinking about her and that he must keep her safe at what ever the cost, even if its him never being with her again. They really come together after they sat down and talked really talked. And that I think is where Jax really know that he could never leave her.
Jax sets out to find his brother because he knows he needs to be taken care of before he can have a life with Caroline. This kind of causes its own issues with Caroline she thinks he is only around to keep her safe then leave her. Caroline jumps to concoctions and Jax's doesn't enplane himself at all really. That is what most of there issue is they have a hard time talking to one another. When they finally catch Jax's brother the scene where they fight is awesome! We also get to see more of Sloan in this book you start to see that he is more than an asshole that doesn't care about anything but his job. I love how we get to see his softer underbelly a bit....not to much though.
Teresa does a wonderful job describing it so its crystal clear in the readers mind. I love all of Teresa's books she is an awesome author and knows how give the readers what they want.
