About the author

Cynthia Woolf is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of eighty-five works of romance fiction. Comprising sixty-six historical western romances, ten contemporary romance novels, two contemporary romance novellas, one historical western romance novella, and six sci-fi space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books, she has also published twelve boxed sets of her books and two short stories.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance, Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede, that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband, Jim, and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

First off, I am a total sucker for Mail to Order brides/Hired wives-esque books.

In this book you’ll meet Genevieve Copeland. She is from Lawrence, MA. She works in a factory that mysteriously burns to ash. Her and her two other roommates whom also work at the factory are now out of a job. That is until they’d become Mail Order Brides. They all three went to separate directions to their awaiting husband.

Stuart MacDonnell is a widow left with two children. He needs a wife and he needs her fast.

I really loved Genny’s character. She was extremely assured of herself and was overall just a strong woman. Stuart, you know down deep has a heart it is just not healed yet. He’s scared that he’ll loose another wife to childbirth and he isn’t going to risk that chance. They both fall madly in love with one another, but Stuart is a little slow going at it than Genny. After many attempts Genny finally gives up to becoming his “real wife in all ways that matter” and she leaves. Stuart is stubborn, but follows his heart back to Genny.

This was such a quick, fun, and enjoying read. I really loved it.

HAPPINESS WOULD COME WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT
I enjoyed this addition to the American Mail-Order Bride series. The plot had two stubborn and opinionated people who have to work through several obstacles to finally realize what was important and to be able to find happiness. Stuart MacDonnell needs a wife for his two orphaned children, and Genny Copeland is ready for a family, so becoming a mail-order bride to a ready-made family seems to be ideal. Genny travels by train from Massachusetts to Elko, Nevada, and to find herself married within thirty minutes to a man who wants a wife in name only is the beginning of her shock, but surely he will come around and fall in love with her and want to make her his wife physically. No matter what Genny does, Stuart remains aloof and eventually it will lead to someone walking away. You can’t live your life with “what ifs, and it could happen” attitude. The dialog is emotional, entertaining, and at times heartbreaking. Disclosure: I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.

Cynthia Woolf has created another winner in Genevieve Bride of Nevada her contribution to the “American Mail-Order Brides” series. Genevieve Copeland has willing became a mail-order bride to recently widowed Stuart MacDonnell, and after traveling from Lawrence, Massachusetts to Elko, Nevada she feels as if she has a chance at a family that she craves. Stuart is unprepared for the feelings that Genevieve stirs in him and he does not have faith in himself to give love another chance. Ms. Woolf is a consummate storyteller who develops a story with multi-faceted characters. This book is enjoyable and fast-paced. I was given this book to read by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Great book!!

This is the second book I have read by Cynthia Woolf. I am really enjoying her books. I have found another great author. If you have not read any of her books you are defiantly missing out. She has a way of getting the reader hooked from the first page to the last. Another great book by Cynthia Woolf!

Happy Story

I liked Genny from the start of this book. Growing up in an orphanage made her desire a family that was all her own. Stuart offered her a chance for exactly that dream. It was him and his two children and he needed her to help raise them. She fell in love with them instantly but are the feelings going to be reciprocated?

Only Genny could mend a broken heart or could she?

Genny the 'glass half full' and Stuart the 'glass half empty'.

Genny has grown up an orphan and is used to supporting herself. But then hard times come (well harder than they already were), and she decides to take a chance and become a mail order bride.
One little problem though, Stuart neglected to mention that it would be a marriage in name only. SOoo, like she's some kinda servant there to take care of his two little kids. BUT, because there's no extra bedroom, they have to share the bed. *(roll my eyes and smirk)*.

Stuart is still grieving his first wife, Martha, who died in some kinda unexplained accident, a few months before. The first quarter of the story I really wanted to box Stuart's ears. What an insensitive ninny!
The author suggests that all wasn't well with Stuart's first marriage, but that's not how Stuart is acting.
Finally, Genny has had enough and leaves. Stuart has to get his act together right quick!

I liked Genny's character... more than Stuart's. The house was like a mini 'Peyton's Place'.
I'd have given it another star if I'd felt more remorse from Stuart for being an ass for so long... But he does improve.

Confusing dates irritated me.

I must admit to bring confused. The opening paragraph sees Genny watching the factory burn. It is stated that while she sees her job going up in flames, jobs would be hard to come by, which is the reason for making the decision to become a mail order bride. Yet she is leaving the very next day! Therefore her decision must have been made months before. Confusing.
All three girls leave the same day in October 1890 to different destinations as mail order brides, yet the first letter to Genny from her friend is dated September! When Genny replies it is the end of November, yet she states baby Lucy is 6 months old, the same age as when she arrived. How can a woman save time by writing one letter only to two people living on opposite sides of the country?
It was little things like this that irritated me. Obviously whoever was doing the editing did a poor job.

Cynthia Woolf has created another Mail Order Bride Formulaic story which exceeds the previous efforts.
We follow Genevieve on her quest to find love and family on a ranch in Nevada. Hoping to win the heart of her “groom”, Gennie soon realizes, after losing his wife in childbirth, Stuart wants only a “nanny” for his two children.
Will Gennie melt Stuart’s heart and find her HEA? Of course she will but her journey will be paved with cobble stones.

Ginny & Stuart's strong romance

I recommend this book to those who love sweet romance.
Ginny and Stuart have what I would expect as a likely start to a mail order romance when one partner is a widow. They go through ups and downs to get their HEA.
As usual Ms Woolf delivers a wonderful tale with great believable characters and a good storyline.
I highly recommend Genevieve: a sweet mail-order bride historical western romance.

Genny had no choice. It was either become a mail-order bride or stay in Massachusetts with no job or any way to support herself. She is an orphan, just wants a family and a place to call home. Stuart lost his wife 6 months before and was left with 2 children. He needs a wife quick and doesn't want to have an emotional attachment to her. Been there, done that. Genny and Stuart both think they can live that way, but it is much harder than they thought. Will they find love?

It is a good book.

I liked this one about Genny and Stuart. He needed as mother for his two kids. She loved the little ones, but she also wanted love and a child of her own. Stuart was scared.

One of the Best Stories in This Series

This is the 36th story in the American Mail Order Brides series and it is one of my FAVORITES! It's a good, sweet story and probably fairly typical for the time. The author's style is easy to read and her characters are enjoyable.

Lovely story.

Well written story, with well rounded believable characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting, whilst my daughter dyed my hair after(lockdown greys!) Fortunately, it had a nice happy ending. That brought a soppy tear to my eye!

Great Historical Western Romance!! This is part of a 50 book series of Mail order brides from every state!! This one is about Nevada’s bride! Shows the hardships of becoming a mail order bride and the rewards of being patient for love to bloom!! Greatly recommend to everyone!!

Genevieve "Genny" Copeland is forced to become a mail order bride after the factory she's working in burns down. She answers an ad for a widower looking for someone to help raise his three-year-old and six-month-old children. As an orphan, a ready-made family is right up Genny's alley. However, her new husband, Stuart is determined not to enter into a real marriage with Genny. Can this orphan convince Stuart that they both deserve to have a real family.

Genny is a straight shooter that you can't help but to want to get her happily ever after. She tries everything possible to get Stuart to see the error of his ways. Everyone at the ranch falls in love with Genny. But Stuart constantly pushes Genny away. It's not until Genny leaves, that Stuart begins to rethink his position. It's obvious that Stuart and Genny have feelings for one another. Stuart just needed a kick in the pants! I really enjoyed watching this couple figure it all out.

Genevieve, Bride of Nevada, is book 36 in the American Mail-Order Bride series. All the books are stand alone and can be read in any order. If you're a fan of historical westerns and mail-order brides, you will love this book. I highly encourage you to pick up Genevieve!

Genevieve was orphaned at 5 years old and never was adopted because she was already too old for most people to want. Losing her job because of the factory fire, she became a mail-order bride. In being able to choose from a list of potential grooms, she was able to choose a single father, who lived amongst family, therefore giving herself the family she always wanted.

Stuart lost his wife to a hard childbirth with their second child. He knew that he needed help with his kids and that his family had their own chores on the ranch to do and couldn’t always keep his children. But he vowed that he would not love her, nor would he ever have children again. There are still things that he expects of her, like sharing the marriage bed.

But Genny is no pushover and is willing to go toe-to-toe with Stuart. She is also willing to compromise. But then she falls in love with him, and though she stirs those same feelings in Stuart, he doesn’t know what to do with them. Until he looks back and sees his wife and marriage for the truth, that neither were as perfect as he built them up to be.

Orphan Genevieve “Genny” Copeland heads to Nevada as a mail order bride hoping that the man and two children waiting at the end of her journey will provide her with the family she has wanted for so very long. She is hopeful that Stuart MacDonnell, widow and father, will want a true marriage with love and children and everything else. Billy and Lucy love Genny from the very beginning but Stuart is a tough nut to crack. The story is sweet and fun and what you would expect from a mail order bride story but without anything to set it truly apart from other books of the genre so I am giving it three stars because I liked it and would recommend it to others looking for a mail order romance to eat on a free afternoon.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am a fan of Ms. Woolf's writing and this example of her great story telling shows why. We meet the heroine, Genny, right after a fire has destroyed the factory that provided her income. She becomes a mail-order bride to Stuart, a rancher living outside of Elko, Nevada. He's a widower with two small children, Billy and Lucy, who will steal your heart as they do Genny's. Genny is an orphan and has never had a family of her own and is more than ready to become a part of Stuart's family, which also includes his younger brother and the children's grandparents. The story revolves around Stuart's fear of letting Genny into his heart and risking the loss of another wife to childbirth. Ms. Woolf takes us on a heartfelt journey with a satisfying view of a landscape filled with love and loyalty along the way.
