First things first. This is a series of short books (around 100 pgs each) about the same awesome couple. These books can not be read as stand alones and they should be read in order, starting with the first book  Will & Patrick Wake up Married. You can also binge read them in the  Wake Up Married Serial 1-6.   I have read them all separately back to back...and damn, I'm gonna miss Will and Patrick....mostly Patrick ;)
 photo theendofanera_zpsy4pdbrh0.gif

I loved this series from the first book, and for me, they only got better and better along the way (and hotter).

The last book was a bit more angsty than the rest and it even managed to make me cry !!
Most of the time though...these books made me feel good and laugh out loud. I absolutely adored Patrick and his jerky straight-forwardness.

So...what's this series about...

It's about Will, who's a (recovering) alcoholic and a mobster's son, and Patrick, a brilliant neurosurgeon, who might be on the autism spectrum. They get drunk-married in Vegas and have a night of wild and extremely hot sex.

Unfortunately, they only remember flashes of it, when they wake up hung-over and horrified. Will is especially horrified though. He's inherited a lot of money from his mafia family, and he has used all this money to invest in something good. He set up an organization, "Good Works", which among other things has a hospital attached to it. Will doesn't have any contact with his mafia father and he's not a part of that life. Good Works was his way of doing something good, with what might be "not so good" money. When he inherited the money, however, there was a very important stipulation. Should he ever end up married, it needs to be a marriage out of love and a divorce is not allowed. If he gets divorced, the money will go back to where it came from...the mob.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor well that's a shame gif

Will doesn't want to lose everything he's built and Patrick doesn't want to lose his hands (this is the mafia after all)...so they are stuck in this "fake" marriage until they can figure things out.

They have to suck it up and pretend they're very happy and in love...so no one, besides Will's mother and grandmother, finds out the truth. Problem is...Will has an ex he wants to get back together with and Patrick just wants to go back to his work as a surgeon. Together they will have to figure things out, and their journey doing this, made me laugh, swoon and cry :)

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor journey gif

The books don't start out real steamy, besides some references of their hot night in Vegas, but the heat definitely picks up in book 3. Damn these boys were hot together and we even get some kink ;)

 photo giphy_zpscjb7qvjp.gif

Will and his whining over his ex-boyfriend Ryan did get on my nerves a couple of times. I just wanted him to grow a pair and stand up for himself....to Ryan and to his bitch of a mom. I hated that woman. I know deep down she loved her son, but she was a horrible example for her kids and so fucking self-centered!!! Patrick made up for the frustrations I was feeling though. To me, he was perfect...even when he was being jerky ;)

I'm still gonna take a half a star off my rating because Will was such a whiner at times.

I'm sure I will be reading these books again and again in the future :)

Solid 4 Stars for the series!

The start of this one had my stomach in knots.

I mean Will and Patrick's whole marriage was a farce. They didn't even know each other and now they're in love? But they won't tell each other. They think the other one can't or won't love them.

And then their whole predicament just made me sad.

And then some other stuff made me sad. And I almost cried. 2x.

But then.....it was just...

I'm not usually a fan of serials. But I'm glad I went on Will and Patrick's journey. Their whole love story just made me smile. And laugh. And even swoon.

Recommended read!

Phew, what an ending to an unforgettable series! I ADORED it, though this installment wasn't my favorite.

Will irked me in this one. I honestly wanted to punch him at times. Get your act together, Will! And the influences of others in this story were just over-the-top. So many people seemed like they just wanted to break this couple up for the hell of it.

But, that ending... LOVE. What a glorious couple. I'm team WillTrick for LIFE!

Will & Patrick’s Happy Ending is the final episode of Wake Up Married romance serial.

When divorce becomes a possibility, Will wants to know if his feelings for Patrick are real or not. Will seems to be easily influenced by others, and he asks for some time apart. Patrick is having a hard time to accept it.
“I need to seriously consider whether or not I’ve replaced my addiction to alcohol with an addiction to sex.”
Patrick snorts. “Biochemically, love is an addiction. It’s just a very good one.”

This episode is a really satisfying ending to a fabulous love story. I loved the wedding - thankfully it’s not overdone but heartwarming and delightful.
"I'm glad I married you in Vegas. Though we don't remember much about that night, our hearts knew what we were doing, even if we didn't."

As usual, I waited until ALL the episodes were out. (I don't do cliff hangers) But it was totally worth it. I loved every effing minute of this tropey little rom-com that came with some surprisingly feely feels. Don't be fooled, it actually went a little deeper than I thought and I can't tell u how much I adored do-gooder Will and bitchy Patrick, equally. That's rare, that I love both MCs so much in their own way. Some might get annoyed w/ Will's indecisive moment in the last episode, but really, reading them all at once, his whole story was still so fresh for me that I really GOT why he got the cold feet. It rang every right note for me, even in the sillier, tropier moments. Great read.

Despite yet another self imposed wrench that’s thrown into keeping Will & Patrick apart, I really liked the evolution of these two. How they find love and happiness together, how they make each other stronger and better and whole, was worth reading about.

I’m going to mostly forgive this being 700 plus pages, as well as infuriating side characters being infuriating. The smex, the intensity of emotion, how these two fight for the other, made me a very happy reader. Extra bonus points for the well deserved happy ending with an equally wonderful epilogue. Cheers to both Will & Patrick - I have no doubt that a lifetime of bliss awaits them!

It's been a lot of fun reading these short books. I hated the wait for the next book but it was always worth it once I got my hands on them. It was bittersweet finishing the series cause I enjoyed Will and Patrick so much. I'm gonna go ahead and be selfish and say I want more of them even if I was satisfied with the ending. It's just how I roll when I find a couple I adore. I never want it to end.
If your interested in a story about a couple of troubled guys who get drunk married and find themselves unable to divorce and eventually fall in love, this is a story for you.

OMG I FREAKING LOVE THIS SERIES!!

Image result for in love gif

The first chapter of this novella gave me so many damn feels I didn't know what to do with myself. And it's probably one of THE BEST sex scenes I've read in a LONG time. So much emotion....passion, intimacy, desire, lust....LOVE...all without too much actually being said. OMG! I highlighted almost that entire chapter!

We're taken on quite the roller coaster ride in this installment, and though I wanted to throttle Will at times, I understood his reasoning...even if he never quite explained himself well enough.

Will and Patrick have come a long way...and damn did I enjoy the crap out of their ride.

I have to admit, the first book in this series was super bumpy for me. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to continue. I wasn't immediately hooked and frankly, was even bored at times while reading that first book...BUT OMG AM I GLAD I STUCK WITH IT!!

This series is a favorite. This couple is a favorite. And Dr. Patrick McCloud a/k/a HottieMcBrainSurgeon is now one of my favorite characters!

I'm so glad the authors give an extended epilogue....so now, if you'll excuse me, I have a honeymoon to read about!!!

"To my husband. The best mistake I ever made."

"I thought you didn't make mistakes."

"Exactly."

Review for overall serial = 3.5 stars, Individual installments 3-4 stars

This ride was fun, and I was punched with a surprising amount of feelz in the last installment, but please don't go into this expecting any touch of realism. The authors weren't going for that, clearly. This is more of a rom-com (which really was a LOT of fun), so put your suspend disbelief glasses on and just enjoy the ride.

The best thing about this book was the comedy. Will and Patrick wake up naked and married, with no immediate recollection of how they got that way.

"We can't get divorced."
"The hell we can't." Patrick's voice rises a few octaves. "What are you? Catholic? They're not that fond of the whole gay marriage thing in the first place. I'm sure they'd fully support a gay divorce."

There actually IS a valid reason (rom com, remember? I'm rolling with it, Ele) that they can't get divorced. It's all tied to Will's trust fund, from his father's Italian-mafia side of the family, that Will uses in the most philanthropic of ways. Even Patrick can't risk that money not getting to those who need it. So back to Will's home town of Healing, South Dakota they go. To figure out a loophole in the legal language of the trust.

Will and Patrick have to ACT all happy and in love for everyone because of the language of the trust. Italian mafia may be spying after all. I'm still rolling with it. And they get to know each other. Patrick is a brash, no-nonsense, "somewhere on the spectrum" Neurosurgeon, and Will is the primary benefactor for the hospital in Healing. He runs Good Works, which funds the hospital. He needs to keep Patrick happy and MARRIED, so he doesn't lose Good Works, so he agrees to add whatever Patrick could possibly want to the hospital that could make Patrick's ideal work place.

There are lots of run-ins with the local townsfolk, which was really fun, given Patrick's assholish personality. You know the type.......no filter. And the appearance that he doesn't care if those around him have any feelings. There's much depth to Patrick though.

"Oh, I'm sorry, but you missed the pity party. Come back on Thursday. We'll be hosting another one then."

He's kind of exactly what Will needs, who's crazy-dependent and in love with his recent ex, Ryan. Ryan is the kind of person you want to twist and squeeze their balls, slowly. And he's respected by the town. And Will's family. Lots of WTF moments about Will and Ryan throughout this serial. Some were interesting plot points. Most were god awful doormat behavior that made me want to throw my Kindle. The man tells Will how worthless he is, never touched him - for sex or affection, for 6 years, and he just kept going back for more. Will picked a real winner there.

Will is also a recovering alcoholic. Who woke up after a bender married to Patrick. Will never really stood a chance. His mother, his uncle, the man he's been with for the last 6 years all constantly remind him of what a failure he is. It's no wonder he relapses. Patrick's having none of that. He gets everyone's number within minutes of meeting them. Super Neurosurgeon to the rescue, of course. The way Patrick spoke to everyone who hurt Will in any way was the highlight of the serial for me.

"The clue bus hurt when it hit?"

Shenanigans are rampant throughout. And, of course, Will and Patrick actually DO fall in love with each other. This was a slow burn and very believable. With a dose of angst when it comes to a head that actually had me tearing up. The last serial was well done with the feelz.

"I love him. He makes me want to vomit. But in a good way."

If all of this type of story described above appeals to you, I'd recommend. Just remember to put your rom com glasses on because very little of this is realistic in any way. In particular, Patrick's practice as a neurosurgeon, procedure and protocols around the hierarchy of physician leadership, and malpractice protocols. It was all the biggest bullshit I've ever found myself layered in. So there's that. But, whatever, I had fun.

Oh, and the steam? Yowza.

I loved this ending to the series, even though I wanted to scream at Will. ❤️❤️❤️

While it’s still sexy and hilarious, this one is also very emotional and I even cried a little. We get to see deeply into Will and Patrick’s vulnerabilities and it was a little heartbreaking.

Will made a decision I had a hard time understanding, but he is an alcoholic and a victim of emotional abuse and I accept that he had to take care of himself. But my heart broke for Patrick, and it felt like the first time we really got to see how him being on the autism spectrum colours his life. He was trying so hard for Will, and I wanted to hug him.

I loved this series, but Will letting everyone in his life get to him and influence him frustrated me so much. Patrick was amazing, and I loved them together. But Will on his own is very hard to like.

If you had asked me if I wanted to read 700 pages (or 6 books) about the same couple I’d have said no way. But the tiny book format worked for me, and I never got bored. Frustrated and annoyed, yes.

I’m undecided about reading the last book. They got their HEA. Moving on for now. 🤷‍♀️

Just for a second I thought this would be something like:

Thankfully everything all worked out just fine, I am sad to let Will & Patrick go.
I loved this series. Especially Patrick. This will definitely be on my re-read list.

At the beginning of this segment I was about ready to tear Will a new one. His personal choices baffled me and his ability to be easily swayed by the uncalled for advice and bullshit opinions of inferior fools made me want to slap him upside the head. But then, once the rage had simmered, I really thought about it, and I've decided that it makes perfect sense that he would behave and react in such a manner. I mean, look at the examples his parents have set, not to mention, the treatment he endured at the hands of Ryan all those years. He clearly didn't trust himself and that was something he had to figure out without Patrick's help. So, okay, I don't agree with his initial decisions in this story, but I understand why he's so fucked up that he would see his choice as the correct path for himself.

Meanwhile, I fucking adore Patrick. I find the fact that I can say that so vehemently mind-blowing, considering how unimpressed I was by him back in my review for part one. Needless to say, this guy won me over in a major way. It was a slow process; so slow that I didn't even realise I was a hardcore fan of his character until it was too late. I made a comment in my last review that Patrick kept this series alive for me and it's absolutely true. I loved the complexities of his character and found that when he was sad I hurt along with him and when he was happy I was ridiculously happy right there with him. So, yep, he is a great character that I won't easily forget anytime soon.

All in all, this series had its ups and downs for me, but in the end I feel satisfied with the overall experience. I'm glad I got to go on this crazy, fun, sometimes maddening journey with Puddin'-pop & HottieMcBrainSurgeon. I'm super glad they "pair bonded" and got their promised happy ending!

4 stars for this entertaining comedy about Will & Patrick (story cut into 6 installments : to be read in a row)

Will, a shy, alcoholic and diabetic wealthy do-gooder, and Patrick, a highly arrogant, grumpy and always hungry neurosurgeon, wake up one morning in an hotel bedroom in Las Vegas, realizing they got married and can’t get divorced quite easily because of Will’s Mob family. So, they get to live in Will’s small hometown in South Dakota where Will runs a foundation and Patrick gets a job in the local hospital and pretend to everybody they love each other.
They have to do so surrounded by small town gossips, nosy and sometimes not-well intended friends, a controlling ex-boyfriend, a dysfunctional family, the Mafia’s presence, death threats, blackmail. But are they only pretending ?

Fun (a “calamalatte Jane” coffee, really ??) and hotness (holly hotness !!) are packed in this story about 2 highly likable MCs I wanted to shake so they get to their senses, as well as secondary characters I wanted to shake for giving so bad advices or embrace for being there to help Will and Patrick get their HEA.

I highly recommend this series that left me with a huge grin on my face once it was over.

“When he’s done, Patrick hands a glass to him. “To Ryan Whitehead for dumping you and making all this possible.”
Will scowls.
Patrick laughs, and then turn serious. “To my husband,” he toasts again, tapping his glass against Will’s. “The best mistake I ever made.”
“I thought you didn’t make mistakes.”
“Exactly.”
Will drinks and grins.

This series turned out to be an enjoyable and wild ride. Funny, cute, and sexy, it’s a perfect choice when you’re in the mood for something light. Our idealistic do-gooder and grumpy neurosurgeon have a bumpy, OTT journey in their relationship, but the books are highly bingeable and short (100 pages each).

3.75 ⭐️ I want to kill both Will and Patrick myself. How could they haven't any clue of their feelings for each other when it is obvious to anyone who has a pair of eyeballs? 😤😤

Finally, when they confess everything, what in the world Will have gotten into himself? Really!! You two are the definition of a moron, especially, Will. He is such a big dummy. I wanted to smack him so hard until he got into his sense.

But the ending is what I needed the most to heal my heart. It's such a lovely epilogue.

This series ended up far exceeding my expectations. Granted, I went in expecting some comedy and little else. This series does have its comedic moments but also has surprising depth, delving into alcoholism and addiction, living with diabetes, and child abuse, among other topics. And the sex is hawwwt!

Will and Patrick and the little town of Healing have been an enjoyable escape for these 6 episodes. 1 more to go!

I predicted that I would reread this series at the time (see below) and now that I have, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed every single word - again. This time I will add some pics and one or two extra comments, but that's i1! Here is my first review:

A brilliant ending to an absolutely fabulous series. One of those I will definitely read again and again.
As expected, it finally becomes possible for Will and Patrick to divorce. But is that what they really want? Just as Will decides he needs to take time to examine his feelings thoroughly (addiction and bad choices do run in the family after all) Patrick finally finds the courage to say the three little words.
Darn. Talk about bad timing. How 'cruel' to do that to us poor readers!

But I can understand where Will is coming from, because what he wants is actually pretty sensible. However, in this case sensible turns out to be also extremely hurtful. My heart ached for Patrick - after all that time deliberating what to do, how to tell Will, he picks the exact moment when Will tells him he needs space.
That really hurt (and was so well done by the author). My eyes were glazing over when Patrick grit his teeth and gave Will what he needed.

I loved finding out more about Patrick (I admit he's my favourite out of the two), about his family, his past and his innate goodness. Although it is Will who's getting the 'do-gooder' label, Patrick is not far off him! They just fit - and it shows in the way they make love. Hot, hot, hot... and so many feels to go with it!

I also loved the epilogue - very rewarding and just what was needed!

All in all an excellent series, brilliantly written and a perfect combination of UST, a slow burn love story, humour and angst.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was such a cute ending!! Thank you so much for this gift during the Secret Santa exchange! I just want a Will & Patrick of my very own. Puleeeeeze!!!!!!!!!! I just want to squish them they are so cute! There are not enough words for how scrumptious this series is and I can't wait to read the next installment. 5 HUGE stars - ALL THE STARS really.

I do have a burning question: What is going to happen to Ryan and Hartley (is that his name?). Hartley was so, so down and hurt when we last saw him with Ryan. It's clear Ryan is not a healthy person and shouldn't be in a relationship with anyone. At first things between these two seemed to work, but obviously not and I can't help but hurt for poor Hartley. Ryan though, he's been on my shit list since book 1 so he can go fall off a cliff for all I care. But Hartley didn't really do anything wrong and deserves some goodness in his life. Maybe he and the nurse who kept hitting on Patrick - Vernun? - will get together. Hmmmm????

All in all, this was so wonderful, and maybe my question will be answered in the next book. I do hope so! If not, maybe there will be more stories. That would be exciting. I vote for that - more stories!

This was a very nice wrapping up (even if we still have one installment to go). Will's uncle was ok in the end. Will's mother is a lost cause but she has been checked and despite the lack of actual consequences it was fine. Ryan should be in jail or a mental institute. The angst between Patrick and Will was good, it broke my heart for a bit but I understood it. They are great and earned their HEA. I LOVE Jenny and Dinah! I hope we see more of them in the last installment. I would recommend the whole series. It is long (+600p) but because of the short installment it does not seem long.

After getting to know both Will and Patrick throughout this six-book series, I have to say I LOVED the entire series and am very sad to reach the end. I'd give a 5 star rating for the entire series, and a 4 star rating for this particular episode.

Two things drove me crazy, though, in this particular episode. Will is an idiot, and I was glad he finally saw the light and realized that he and Patrick belong together. It also was nice that Will's family finally had his back and reined in some of their relationship weirdness.

Owen ...... WTF? This man is Will's AA sponsor, but first was firmly on Team Ryan (believing that Ryan was saving Will from drinking and cautioned him against Patrick) and then his whole theory messed up Will further.

And ... okay, maybe three things drove me crazy. Ryan makes his return to the series and I still want some sort of (evil, horrible, probably disfiguring) comeuppance for him. The way he treated Will makes my heart ache. But I guess it's a credit to the authors that they created such a despicable character that made such a lasting impression.

The ending is perfect, with everything you want for Will & Patrick.

I received an ARC of this book from the author via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this series and every installment. Will was the uptight, recently rejected do gooder who spent his time apologizing to everyone for everything due to his fuckstick of an abusive ex who totally destroyed his beautiful spirit and made him feel deviant for wanting sex. Patrick on the other hand was arrogant, direct and had layers of armor around his heart so that he would never love another or be hurt again.
So after one amazing night of drinking and wild sex in Vegas, Will and Patrick get married. The series tells the hilarious story of how these two learned to manage each other, their families and their situation. From strangers they become friends, then lovers, then totally committed husbands ❤️ this story was funny, heart warming and ranged from deeply sad to joyfully high. Really enjoyed it

Will and Patrick's backwards marriage hits a screeching halt in this finale to their story - not because of douchebag Ryan (and he does continue to be a douchebag - that man is screaming out for a case of karmic bus jumping the curb), not because of Will's meddling family, and not because of Patrick's tin man routine. One of the men, at least, feels strongly that calling it quits is the way to go and suddenly the mistake marriage is causing real marriage pain (which was so sad to read. So, so sad!).

Our boys, though. As much as everyone else tells them that they are screwed up, they seem to have it together for themselves and each other far better than anyone realizes. In several places, I just wanted everyone to shut up and leave them alone. I felt like a Scooby Doo villain muttering about meddling fools. Patrick is such a nurturer - his care for Will's diabetes and his baby-love shine in this episode.

Each man did what he needed to do for himself and his husband, like it or not. And I guess that's essentially marriage in a nutshell - whether it was a boozy Vegas start or with 500 of your closest friends in St Patrick's Cathedral after a two year engagement.

I loved that there was no Big Misunderstanding. There was no hiding of the ball (aka feelings). When they needed to talk, they talked and when the talking was done - steam!! (Seriously, two of the best steamy scenes I've ever read).

Serials can be so annoying with the wait but this one was worth it! And the author delivered earlier than promised which is always happy news!

Will and Patrick is a couple that I grow to love as the series progress. I would have rated this a 5 stars as a wrapped up for the series. But since there is a #7 at the time I'm reading this, I'm saving my 5 stars for later. For #6, I think is a 4 stars due to some self-inflicted misery that wrapped up the entire 111 pages.

Patrick finally confessed his feelings after a long procrastination, and surprisingly Will reciprocate as well. But Will is doubting everything, due to his own addiction (he's now wondering is he having sex addition too. Thanks Owen) and doubting Patrick's commitment. So there is some painful moments that we have to deal with, but we know they gonna pull their head out their asses sooner or later. The good point is we finally get to meet Patrick's foster family and they both a great couple. Will have some groveling to do, and I'm glad at least we have some hot make up sex.
