Steve is back and ready for more adventures! But this time the excitement lands closer to home. While walking home from the village, Steve is surprised to hear a loud BOOM! When he returns home, he finds his wheat farm destroyed and a huge crater where the wheat once grew. And his diamond sword is missing! Steve believes it’s the act of a griefer with a lot of TNT. Devastated, Steve wants to rebuild and find his sword, but with his wheat destroyed, he must call on old friends to help him.

All together again, Lucy, Max, and Henry tell harrowing stories of their treasure hunts and conquests, and Steve discusses his strategy for rebuilding. They all go to sleep, excited to begin their plans; but when they wake up, Henry is missing! Looking for Henry in the village, two of Steve’s neighbors, Kyra and Adam, have been targeted as well: Kyra’s barn was flooded with lava, and Adam’s friend Thomas is missing too!

Who is the griefer terrorizing Steve and the villagers? And how will Steve find the resources to rebuild his prosperous farm? With suspicion circulating and no answers to be found, Steve finds himself wrongly suspected of these crimes�and so he must discover who the mischievous griefer is before something even worse happens.

LOVED IT!

I have read book one and I am going to read book three next. I am a huge fan of minecraft and I recommend this to any other minecrafter. And quest for a diamond sword was also extremely good. Overall a very good read.

Again a very good book, might be better than the other one. This book was fantastic, and not just because of Minecraft, but because it included mystery. The book was about one day Steve's(Main Character) house just gets blown up by TNT and he doesn't know who did it. Not only his house, but they also destroyed his farm, they took his enchanted diamond sword, and they also destroyed and took away stuff from his friends. SPOILER ALERT!!! I got really surprised when Thomas, one of his friends did all the griefing(Meaning (v.)-Destroying or stealing stuff from other fellow players).I give this book a 5 out of 5!(*_*) (T_T) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

This is a children's book. I think children would love it.

In this adventure based on the videogame Minecraft, a prankster (called a griefer) is blowing up houses, digging tunnels and just causing all sorts of trouble for no reason. They try to catch the person doing this and when they find out who it is they can't believe it. Luckily he mends his ways and it is group hug time.

I read several of these children's stories in the series to check whether the author is placing weird stuff in the second or third book. I've seen Scott Westerfeld do that in his series "Uglies". Uglies is a great story. I loved it, but the sequel "Pretties" got weird toward the end and "Specials" was just nuts. Not for kids yet I saw it in the kid's section of the library. No warning.

FYI, I am not down on Scott Westerfeld. I loved his series beginning with "Leviathan".

In any case I doubt I will return to this audiobook, but I wouldn't mind listening to it again in the car with kids.

Steve is once again at peace in his village, and still shooken up from his other adventure. Steve had recently got neighbors that moved in next to his house. It was two friends named Adam, and Thomas. Steve, and all them become friends, and live a normal life again. Suddenly, Steves village is starting to get griefed by an unknown person. The situation get's out of control as the village get's griefed, and Steve, and Adam. Steve get's angry, and get's his new friends for help Lucy, Max, and Henry, also another new friend named Kyra. as new mischief comes from the griefer the group tries to investigate, and find who the griefer is. Steve is eventually blamed to be the griefer in the village, but his friends don't believe it. Eventually, with the teamwork of the group they find out that the greifer was Adam's best friend, Thomas. The group finally get tired of Thomas, and fight him, but it wasn't easy with Thomas's griefing skills. With the power of teamwork, and perseverence the team successfully takes down Thomas. Thomas appoligized, and helped the team fix everything he destroyed, and stole. The team are finally able to go to sleep without being worried about an insane Griefer running around.

The Mystery of the Griefers Mark is actually a super good book. I read the book after this and it was very similar. Both of the books included so called traitors. I was wondering when I finished the book that why didn’t Thomas work with the gang and pretend not to be the griefer? Why did he steal the potions in the first place? Why did he want to destroy other people’s homes and think it’s funny? Why did he want to destroy and see how he can get away with it? I mean, WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT???????!!?!?!?!! Thomas created a bunch a holes he could have fell in and he’s destroyed Adam’s house and didn’t think of where he lived. Adam takes care of you Thomas, AND HERE YOU ARE, BLOWING UP HIS HOUSE. I really wonder how much wool Thomas has because he dropped at least a pound of wool to show that he was the griefer. Can’t he just think of other people? He is just to selfish, bleh 🤮. Everyone should read it. Very funny.

While The Mystery of the Griefer's Mark is a fun and action-packed story, it suffers from lackluster character development and a weak plot. The characters are one-dimensional and lack depth, and the story relies heavily on deus ex machina to resolve conflicts. Additionally, the writing style is simplistic and geared towards a younger audience, lacking the maturity and nuance that could have made the book more engaging for older readers. Despite its entertaining elements, The Mystery of the Griefer's Mark ultimately fails to live up to the potential its premise holds.

I read/listen to the books in this series because my son enjoys them, and I try to keep my expectations reasonably low. That said, I liked this one more than the previous one. It features a queer(ish) neighbor couple (a potion-maker and a wanderer) whose spats made me chuckle, and it imparts an admirable lesson about playing nicely in an online environment. I downloaded a book about pirates for our next joint listen, but I’m sure I’ll come around for book #3 in this series sooner or later…

I had seen several of these Minecraft stories and thought I would give one a try -- even for kid's literature (especially for kid's literature! they deserve good stories too!) this wasn't anything. I'd suggest something else for any kiddos. It's unrewarding and pandering.

Ending was at least interesting but not a worthwhile read, I hope the third book is better otherwise I'm dropping this story
